Chapter 11 - WILL
"Heavens!" Jason exclaimed. The occupants of the room except Apollo and Naomi were all dumbfounded. Will was too shocked to even utter a word. All this time, he thought that they were ambushed by the demons because of the faint scent that clings to the orb. This was the reason why half of his pack was dead. Just a single orb. Will gritted his teeth, he was agitated.
"Ah, this was the reason why demons are lurking in Olympus." Apollo said after a while still observing the orb in his hands. It was really mesmerizing. The deep blue and purple swirling around it was captivating.
"We need to be careful. Now that we know what the demons want in Will's pack." Annabeth sighed, she wrote something on her notepad. Maybe a counter plans on the possible next attack on Olympus. Percy, Jason, Travis, Connor, and Apollo started giving insights on what plan they should have. Hazel was mostly quiet like Will, she was obviously thinking. They needed to protect Olympus and of course, Will's pack. Will forced himself to calm down as he also ran plans on his head. Cecil noticed this and patted his shoulder briefly. The Alpha just nodded his head in silent thanks towards his Beta. Will also need a plan but first, he needed to hear out his parents.
"I want to know now how you've met Reyna, Mom." Will turned to his mother. Naomi's eyes were full of regret. She turned to her husband and held his hand. Apollo caressed her nape lovingly in response. Then, Naomi's tears started to run down from her eyes. Her Alpha, Apollo kissed her forehead. Will was confused about why his mother suddenly started crying again. He reached out to her but his father cleared his throat and started.
"We were saved by her actually. Reyna saved Naomi once. We were so young back then. Just starting out a pack. We were still wandering around gaining a pack but we needed to find a home to settle in because Naomi was carrying Michael in her womb." Apollo grazed a small smile remembering. They were all attentive in Apollo's story. Will sadly smiled at his brother's name. A life that was lived by so fast. He suddenly missed Michael's teasing, messing with him as an endearment.
"One night, we were settled in to rest. I believe it was somewhere outside of Olympus by that time. We were just preparing when Naomi was pouting that she wanted to help. I forbade her because she was pregnant." Apollo chuckled.
"My bump at that time was not noticeable and I can mostly help our pack." Naomi continued her husband's story. She was composing herself. "In the end, I convinced him for me to help. After a while, I helped gather woods nearby but I became thirsty and noticed a river nearby. It was close so I did not alert my companions."
"Mom! That was dangerous!" Will suddenly exclaimed. It was so reckless. She was an Omega for goodness sake. She must be protected all the time.
"Exactly my sentiments when I learned what she did." Apollo nodded along with Will. Apollo was having a stern face at Naomi. His wife just sighed at the two.
"I know. I've learned my mistake the moment I realized that I was lost and a demon appeared out of nowhere." The room was filled in gasps, horrified at the turn of events.
Naomi - flashback
Naomi fights off the demon with her two daggers. Just because she is an Omega doesn't mean that she can't kill a demon but she needed to be careful, she was pregnant. She can't defeat the demon easily given the circumstances. Naomi calculated the steps and she knows that demons aren't that smart. One, strike above, two-strike below then kick it so hard. She was winning but the demon whistled and the other two demons countered her.
Naomi feared for her life and her child as she was thrown off the ground. Her daggers were also thrown off so far from her. She was also losing her strength, one demon was about to slay her, she just closed her eyes and prepared for the pain but it did not come. All she heard was a sword slashing then she opened her eyes and saw a young woman finish off the demons.
"Are you okay?" The young woman turned to help her. She has long thick black hair that was tied in a ponytail. Her eyes were dark but beautiful. Naomi guessed that the young woman is just younger than her in a couple of years. Naomi nodded and accepted the hand that was extended to her.
The moment Naomi's hand touches hers, a strange light suddenly bathes them both. In all that light, Naomi sees a white wolf and a large brown wolf with blue eyes that shifted to gold. She saw that the large brown wolf was protecting the white wolf that was surrounded by demons, hunters, and wolves. The white wolf was whining in agony while the large brown wolf was growling at anyone who tried to come to them. Then it suddenly stopped. The woman staggered and was panting.
"What was that?" Naomi questioned her.
"Hope." The young woman smiled and chuckled. She grasped at Naomi's hand. "That was the hope that I am looking for." Naomi was so confused about the hope that she was talking about.
"Hope? All I saw was a white wolf and a large brown wolf." Naomi questioned her. "Also, What is your name?
The woman smiled genuinely at her. "My name is Reyna. Nice to meet you. What's yours?"
"Call me Naomi. I am grateful that you saved my life but please can you explain what exactly happened there?" Reyna was about to answer her but they both smelled Apollo's scent followed by a yell. Apollo was looking for her. Relief flooded her body as she ran towards the scent of home. Apollo reached to her as soon as he saw her.
"Naomi!" Apollo quickly got to her and hugged her so tight. He then growled possessively when he noticed Reyna and the demon's dead bodies. Reyna just casually stood several feet away from them when Apollo charged towards Reyna but Naomi held him fast.
"Darling, no! She saved me from the demons. I am thankful for her." Naomi explained to Apollo fast. She needed to calm him down.
"She did?" Apollo questioned Naomi but his eyes squinted suspiciously at Reyna.
"Yes, she did. If not for her, I'd be dead." Apollo gasped and hugged her again. Naomi sensed the fear that her Alpha was feeling. She hugged him just as tightly and whispered sweet nothings to her Alpha, just calming him down. When her Alpha calmed down, Apollo apologized to Reyna.
"I'm sorry for my behavior and I am grateful to you. You saved my Omega and my child." Apollo sincerely apologized to Reyna.
"No need to apologize. I am also happy that they were unharmed." Reyna said to him and glanced around. "You must not camp here, many demons are roaming around here."
"Yes, I am planning to move quickly but I am afraid that Naomi will be tired in our journey. It is nighttime and she still needs to rest." Apollo glanced worriedly at Naomi, carefully caressing her baby bump.
"You can come to Olympus with me. It will be just a short journey. I have a place for you and your pack." Reyna offered them. Naomi hoped that Apollo would agree. She still wanted to talk to Reyna about what happened earlier. Apollo looked at Naomi and she subtly nodded her head.
"Okay, I'll accept your invitation. Just need to gather my pack and we'll go on our way."
They were amazed when they entered the Olympus. It was a small human town but they were welcomed. They saw a couple of werewolves around but no blood was spilled. It was like the long history of the bloodbath between humans and werewolves were dissolved into thin air. It was hundreds of years that the treaty was signed between werewolves and humans but the people and the werewolves don't mingle that much. That is why they were so amazed that this town existed.
"I really hope that this town will flourish. Wolves and humans are now allies. Demons were the common enemy." Reyna commented as they walked towards the property that Reyna was talking about. They just nodded, still wrapping their heads about the town. They arrived at a small hill just a few miles from the capital. It just has small signage that writes Reyna's name.
"I bought this land from the head hunter of this town. It's nice that I have a house to return pack can camp in here." Reyna pointed out the vast property that she has. Apollo then thanked her and helped his pack to settle in for the night. Naomi just noticed a small house in the center, she assumed that it was Reyna's home.
"That's where I'll be sleeping," Reyna told Naomi, she must have noticed that Naomi was staring at the small house. Naomi just nodded at her unconsciously fiddling with her fingers, she felt agitated.
"Do not worry about the demons. Olympus has many hunters. Demons that are dumb enough to enter this town is dead meat." Reyna reassures her but Naomi was still feeling agitated and she thinks she knew.
"What are you?" Naomi asks her, directly staring at Reyna's dark eyes. "I tried to break down your scent but I got nothing. You are not a demon, that is obvious. Not a human hunter either because their scent is bathed with distinguished blood which is not in your scent. Not a werewolf, I can sense it quickly since I am an Omega. All I know that is your scent is a human but something else is lingering. A spell, maybe? I am grateful that you saved me but I still fear the safety of my pack and my mate."
"You can ask me again in the morning, for now, rest. I do not wish to harm you. You are equally important to the hope that I was talking about earlier. Come meet me in the morning at my house. Bring your Alpha. I needed his participation too. Is that okay with you?" Reyna asked Naomi.
"Okay." Naomi agreed, she needs Apollo's insight too and she is really exhausted tonight. Now that her body is relaxed, she can now feel her body is complaining. Reyna started to walk towards her house to retire for the night but Naomi called her. Reyna turned around with a slightly raised brow.
"Thank you for letting us stay here." Naomi bowed slightly at her.
"There's no problem. This is your home too." Reyna waved her hand and walked towards her house. "See you tomorrow." Home, huh? Did she just tell her that this is also their home? Naomi just shrugged it and walked towards her Alpha, seeking comfort in her aching body.
"Wait, A hill in Olympus? Is this Reyna's land?!" Will exclaimed in sudden realization after hearing their story. Granted they were not finished but Will can't wrap in his mind that the land that he called home was Reyna's property.
"Yes, Will. This is Reyna's land. She was the one who brought us to Olympus which we are thankful for." Apollo answered Will.
"The very cabin that we are in is her small house. We converted this to the main cabin since important discussions were made here. This is also where she revealed that she is a hound." Naomi continued.
"Lady Naomi, you said that Reyna called the vision as a hope. What was that hope all about?" Hazel questioned her mother. She called it visions, Will was now curious. That was a vision?
"Hazel" Annabeth called her attention. "How did you know that the hope they were talking about was a vision?"
"As a witch, we studied visions but we cannot do it. Only an Oracle can. I cannot say why Reyna can do it but she is immortal. Maybe she picked up some skills all throughout her immortality." Hazel explained it to them and she continued.
"Visions usually occurred when you touched a person who is connected to a certain prophecy. A prophecy was envisioned. I suppose you are part of the prophecy, Lady Naomi." Hazel asked Will's mother.
"Yes, dear. I am. Since I am the mother of the big brown wolf." Naomi clarified and looked directly at Will's eyes. "The one that is destined to protect the hope that Reyna was talking about."
