House of Double Agents:

After Mara's victory, the Anubis residents returned home and went to their rooms. Amber was shocked about the mess in her room, Nina had already seen the mess so she wasn't really shocked about it.

"Our room! It's a total mess! Said Amber.

"Yes, Hurricane Victor has been here, said Nina.

"My bed, my stuff! Oh no my clothes! Said Amber.

"Calm down Amber. I really didn't think anything happened to your clothes, said Nina.

Amber rushed over to the closet to see if her clothes were alright. Much to her relief, nothing happened to her clothes.

"Oh thank goodness, my clothes are fine. That is the most important thing right now, said Amber.

"And the Ankh pieces are safe too, said Nina.

"Oh yeah, that's important too," said Amber.

At the same in Fabian and Mick's room. Mick saw the first time the damage that Victor had done to his room.

"What happened in here?" Asked Mick.

"Our whole room is a mess as you can see," said Fabian.

"This is not normal. The man just broke a lot of my stuff," said Mick

Fabian knew exactly what Victor was looking for in the rooms. Luckily for the club, Victor had found nothing.

Meanwhile in Aaron and Otis's room. The two boys entered their room and saw the mess that Victor had made.

"Look at it. Did they send exterminators? Or a pack of elephants to find the mice" Asked Otis.

"I know right," said Aaron.

"Oh no! Where is my camera?" Asked Otis.

Otis looked for his camera and a few seconds later he found his camera.

"Thank goodness, nothing happened to my camera," said Otis.

In the meantime in Patricia and Mara's room. Both girls were shocked at the mess in their room. Patricia grabbed a brooch of the floor and it was broken.

"Oh no, look at this. This was a gift from my grandmother," said Patricia.

"This almost amounts to criminal damage. Well as your new school ambassador I'm not having it. I'm going to every room and ask with the damage is and make a list and I'll give it to Sweetie," said Mara.

"You go Mara," said Patricia.

Mara left the room to go the room of Fiona and Caitlin. At the same time Nina and Amber entered the room.

"Whoa I see that your room wasn't spared either," said Amber.

"Yes and now Mara is going to make a list of all that is broken or damaged and give it to Sweetie," said Patricia.

"Good idea," said Amber.

"I feel really mean, we can't tell her the real reason this place has been trashed," said Patricia.

"The less she knows, the better. We can't put anyone else in danger, And trust me, right now. We're all in danger," said Nina

"We are?" Asked Amber.

"Think about it. Now they definitely know we know," said Nina.

"Ah, but we know they definitely know we know, So they definitely know we know. That we have something on them, right?" Said Amber.

"What?" Said Patricia, not understanding one word that Amber had said.

"I don't know," said Amber.

"We need to be more careful than ever. We not only need to worry about Victor and the teachers, we also need to watch our backs for Rufus," said Nina.

"Rufus?" Asked Patricia.

"Yeah, I've something to tell you, said Nina.

The next morning. Mara started making the list early on. Jerome entered the living room and saw Mara sitting and Jerome saw this as his chance to tell Mara what Mick had done.

"Ah, Mara. Just the girl I wanted to see," said Jerome.

"I'm busy, Jerome," said Mara.

"It's about Mick," said Jerome.

"Don't want to hear it," said Mara.

"I think you should. I caught Mick influencing Robbie during the elections yesterday. You know, Robbie, who was in charge of counting the votes," said Jerome.

"What does that mean?" Asked Mara.

"It means that Mick promised to fix Robbie up with Patricia. If he made sure that you won," said Jerome.

"Mick wouldn't do that," said Mara.

"I didn't think you were the sort of girl. Who'd want to win unfairly, But, you know, clearly I've misjudged you," said Jerome.

"You know I'm not," said Mara.

Mara couldn't stop thinking about what Jerome just told her. Mara went to school and went looking for Robbie. Mara saw Robbie walking down the hall and walked over to him

"Hey, Robbie," can I talk to you for a sec? Asked Mara.

"Yeah, said Robbie

"I heard Mick did a deal with you to fix the vote yesterday. Is it true?" Asked Mara.

"No," said Robbie

"Then why are you sweating and blushing?" Asked Mara.

"I'm not," said Robbie.

"Wait a minute. I haven't finished," said Mara, as she grabbed Robbie bag

"Let go," said Robbie.

Robbie's bag fell on the floor along with the voting slips that were in his bag.

"Then what are all these voting slips doing in your bag? I can't believe this," said Mara, as she stormed away angry.

"Mara, wait. You need to hear the rest, said Robbie.

In the meantime. Otis was sitting locally on his laptop in the drama. Amber walked into the drama room and sat down next to Otis.

"Otis I want to ask you something," said Amber.

"You want me to make the posters for the prom?" Asked Otis.

"How did you know that's what I wanted to ask you?" Asked Amber.

"Wild guess. So I already started making a few designs yesterday," said Otis.

"Show them to me," said Amber.

Otis showed his designs to Amber and she liked all of his designs. Amber chose Otis designs and Otis now only had to print and hang the posters. Mick entered the drama locally and sat down with Amber and Otis. A few seconds later, Mara entered the classroom and walked over to Mick and glared angry at him.

"Hey babe what's the matter?" Asked Mick.

"How dare you go behind my back rigging votes?" Asked Mara.

"Look, you wanted to be school ambassador, So I made sure you were. Welcome to politics," said Mick

"I wanted to win school ambassador because I was the right person for the job, Not by you cheating," said Mara.

"You deserved to win and so I helped you a bit," said Mick

"How could you do that? Do you really think I'm so unpopular I couldn't do it without your help?" Said Mara, while she was about to walk away.

"Where are you going?" Asked Mick.

"To do the right thing obviously," said Mara.

As Mara left the drama room, Robbie entered the drama room. Amber who heard the whole conversation between Mick and Mara walked up to Robbie and gave him a punch on his arm.

"Ouch where was that good for?" Asked Robbie.

"I know that Mick asked you to cheat," said Amber

"He said he that he could make Patricia my date for the prom. And I did fill in some phony slips, but I never actually had time to put them in the ballot box," said Robbie.

"So you mean, said Amber," realizing that Mara really had won

"Yeah, Mara won fair and square," said Robbie

"Oh, you little swindler, said Mick.

"Did you even ask Patricia? Asked Robbie

"Yeah. Yeah. Of course, said Mick

"Ask me what? Asked Patricia, as she entered the drama room.

"Um. We were just wondering if, by any chance, if you liked to go to the prom with corrupt, slimy, chess geeks in the year below," said Mick.

Patricia didn't answer, but from the look on Patricia's face, Robbie knew that she wouldn't go with him Robbie ran out of the drama room crying.

Amber and Mick quickly left the drama room to look for Mara. Just before Mara was about to knock on Mr. Sweet's door, Amber and Mick found her.

"Mara don't," said Amber.

"I've too, you really won," said Mara.

"No you won," said Amber.

"Robbie totally ripped me off, little scuzz ball and never got around to rigging it. But on the plus side, it means you still get to be school ambassador," said Mick.

"I really won fair and square? Asked Mara.

"Yeah. So no harm done, eh? Asked Mick

"Mick, what you did was still wrong. You and me, we just bring out the worst in each other. I'm sorry, but we're finished," said Mara.

Mara knocked on Mr. Sweet's door and entered his office. Jerome who was at his locker had heard the whole conversation and was very happy about the break-up. Mick was upset and Amber noticed that.

"You really messed up didn't you?" Asked Amber.

"Yes, I did," said Mick.

"Well luckily for you I know a way for you to get her back," said Amber.

"You do? What's it? I do anything," said Mick.

"Come on I explain on the way the English class," said Amber.

While Amber was explaining her plan to Mick on how he could get Mara back. Mara was in Mr. Sweet's office telling Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Andrews about the damage Victor had done to the residents room's and stuff.

"And the place looked as if we've been burgled. And there are items damaged. And I really feel as a school ambassador, I should make the school aware of its responsibilities here, said Mara.

"You're absolutely right, Mara," said Mrs. Andrews.

"I am?" Asked Mara.

"Yes. Make a list of anything that's been damaged or broken and the school will pay full compensation," said Mrs. Andrews.

"Okay. That was easy," said Mara.

Mara left Mr. Sweet's office and headed to class. Mr. Sweet and Mrs. Andrews looked at each other with worried faces.

The hours flew by and it was already night time. Jerome and Alfie were in their room. Alfie wanted to talk to Jerome, after he heard from Fabian that Jerome was working for Rufus.

"So I was just wondering, if you have the treasure what are going to do with it?" Asked Alfie.

"Well I'm going to sell to a guy named Rene Zeldman," said Jerome.

"Rene Zeldman? Don't you mean Rufus Zeno?" Asked Alfie.

"How do you know that?" Asked Jerome.

"Jerome Rufus Zeno is dangerous. He kidnapped Patricia!" Said Alfie.

"Yeah, right. I think we'd have noticed if he kidnapped Patricia. At the very least, it would have been quieter around here," said Jerome.

"You gotta stop working for this guy," said Alfie.

"I can't. He already gave me loads of money and if I don't give him what he wants I need to pay him back double what I got from or otherwise he gonna mummify me," said Jerome.

"Then change your name and your face and get out of the country," said Alfie.

"This no joke Alfie! So don't want anything to happen to me, go spy on your club," said Jerome.

Alfie left the room to go the room of Nina and Amber.

In the meantime Nina and Fabian were in the girls bathroom talking about the riddle. Nina was also about the ask Fabian to prom, but she was interrupted by Alfie storming into the bathroom.

"Alfie," said Nina.

"You guys need help me. Jerome wants to sell the treasure to Rufus Zeno and he has already received a lot of money from Rufus," said Alfie.

"How does Jerome know about the treasure?" Asked Fabian.

"Because I told him about it," said Alfie

"What? Alfie how could you," said Nina

"I did not do it on purpose. I apparently talk in my sleep and I apparently said something about the treasure," said Alfie.

"Alfie," said Nina.

"Listen he's blackmailing me okay. And I didn't want to tell anything. You gotta believe me," said Alfie.

"Alfie take it easy, said Nina

"No, And now I've to tell him everything you say to me during our meeting and I don't want that at all. Because I no longer betray you. So I don't know what to do anymore," said Alfie.

"Alfie what did you tell Jerome?" Asked Fabian.

"A lot of! Everything! But I had to, I had no choice. Because if I didn't say anything, he would rat me out to you guys and I didn't want that because I'm in the club now and I liked it so much and I like you all. And now I'm stuck with a complete web of lies," said Alfie.

"Alfie it's gonna be alright," said Nina.

"Okay," said Alfie

"What are we gonna do now?" Asked Nina.

"I have to see what the damage is. What we can do about it," said Fabian

"Jerome cannot get his hands on the treasure," said Nina.

"Emergency Sibuna meeting," said Fabian.

"I'll get the rest," said Nina.

"Alfie you're coming with me," said Fabian.

A little while later, the club was gathered in the room of Nina and Amber. Fabian told the rest of the club what Alfie just told him.

"We have to get Jerome out of the way, "said Fabian.

"But I've to keep telling him things," said Alfie.

"Yeah, need to do that. Jerome can't get suspicious," said Fabian.

"Yes, but we can hardly go to Jerome and say 'here Jerome the treasure, sell it to Rufus Zeno'," said Patricia

"No, he must not know that we know he works for Rufus Zeno," said Fabian.

"We must lead him astray. Then we have more time," said Nina.

"That is it. Why don't we let Jerome do exactly the same as we did," said Fabian.

"I don't get it," said Amber.

"He starts at the beginning. The hieroglyphs at the back of the painting, that lead to the eighth staircase. But instead of Ankh piece, he finds the riddles, that will get leading him to the riddles, he never be able to solve them super-fast. Then we have enough time," said Fabian.

"Brilliant Fabian," said Aaron.

"You're amazing," said Nina

"In the meantime, Alfie can keep telling Jerome all the information, while he tries to finds out about Rufus. In the meantime we have enough time to find the treasure," said Fabian.

"Double Agent Alfie, is on the case," said Alfie.

The club wanted to end the meeting but Fabian had something else to say.

"And I have one more thing to discuss with you guys," said Fabian.

"What is it?" Asked Amber.

"Alfie you need to promise at what I'm about to say, that you won't tell that to Jerome. He can absolutely not know this," said Fabian.

"Okay I promise," said Alfie

"Come on, Fabian don't keep us in suspense any longer What is it?" Asked Aaron.

"It's about the chosen one," said Fabian

"What about Joy?" Asked Patricia.

"I'm wondering if they've gotten it wrong. About Joy being the chosen one," said Fabian.

"How do you mean? Who do you think is the chosen one?" Asked Nina.

"I think it's you Nina," said Fabian

"Fabian. Don't say that, okay? It freaks me out a lot," said Nina.

Everyone started at Nina. Was Fabian right about Nina being to chosen one or was he wrong and is Joy the chosen one like Victor and his society had been saying.
