Chapter Thirteen, Diagon Alley
Remus chuckled amused, as Jasper looked around the magical alley in wonder. He knew Raiden had been to Diagon before with Hagrid but he was still looking in wonder at the colourful shops and pointing out each one to Jasper and explaining what was in them.
"That's Magical Menagerie, where you can get any pet you want and all the things they'd need including things to make them better. Then there's Eyelops Owl Emporium that sells lots of different owls and all you'd need for them. It's where Hagrid brought me Hedwig for my birthday." Raiden explained as he bounced next to Jasper, who held Raiden's hand.
"Papa what are we going to do when you and I are at Hogwarts? Jasper won't be allowed there." Raiden asked sadly as all the happiness and excitement suddenly drained out of him.
"Don't worry about that now Cub. I'm sure Minerva and I can come up with something so you and Jasper can see each other. If not he can always come to Hogsmeade on the weekends your allowed to visit the village." Remus assured running a soothing hand through his hair.
"But what about the bond? You said it needs to settle." Raiden asked still worried and confused.
"It's okay Rai. I'm sure your father and I can come up with something. I can always come visit every day." Jasper said soothingly as he squeezed Raiden's hand gently. Satisfied Raiden nodded his head as they walked up the steps of Gringotts.
If Jasper was surprised by all the magical shops, he definitely was when they entered the bank and spotted all the Goblins.
"They're Goblins, and rather fierce creatures if you don't show them the respect they deserve. Most wizards foolishly don't and they end up losing more money then they should." Remus informed Jasper quietly as they entered through the first and second doors. Jasper nodded his head as he took all of this information in, he could tell the Goblins are a warrior race just from looking at them and by the ones with weapons by the doors. You would be incredibly foolish to insult them, that Jasper knew for certain.
Shortly after, they arrived at a Free Teller. Jasper still holding Raiden's hand stood slightly behind Remus as he let the werewolf do the talking.
"What can Gringotts do for you today?" The Goblin who's nameplate said, Gornuk said.
"I'd like to see the Head of the Potter accounts, please?" Remus asked before he whispered as he pointed to Raiden. "This is Harry Potter but he's been adopted under the name Raiden Carlisle James Cullen, and then I adopted him so his last name is now Lupin. We do not wish for anyone, especially Dumbledore, to know he is Harry Potter. And this is Raiden's mate Jasper Whitlock, a Cold One." Remus added when he saw Gornuk staring at Jasper.
Gornuk stares at them for a moment before he nodded his head.
"Very well. Griphook will show you to Ragnok, the Head of the Potter accounts. Griphook!" Gornuk shouted. A second later a black haired Goblin that was slightly younger than Gornuk who had white-grey hair appeared before them.
"Thank you Gornuk, may your enemies tremble before you, and your gold to ever flow." Remus said bowing his head to the Goblin Raiden and Jasper doing the same.
"May your enemies tremble before Major Whitlock and your gold yo never cease." Gornuk said with a malicious smirk.
"Hi Griphook." Raiden said as they walked over to the Goblin.
"You remember me Mr Potter?" Griphook said before looking sheepish as Gornuk turned and glared at him as he mouthed something. "My apologies. I mean Mr Lupin. You are a very unusual wizard, not many wizards would remember the Goblin who took them to their vault a few years ago."
"That is Raiden for you, he is uncommonly kind." Jasper said as he kissed Raiden's forehead as he smiled at Jasper.
"Yes, he is known as Goblin-friend. If you'd like to follow me." Griphook said shocking the two wizards and one vampire for a moment. Shaking themselves out of their stupor they followed him down several white marble ornate halls trimmed with gold, after several turns they arrived at a dark wooden door with a golden plaque on the door that read, 'Ragnok Potter Family Account Manager'.
Griphook knocked thrice upon the door before a deep timbre voice called through the door.
"Enter!" As the door opened by itself.
"Mr Lupin, his son and Major Whitlock to see you Ragnok." Griphook announced.
"Thank you Griphook." Ragnok said with a bow of his head which Griphook returned before he left. "Please enter and take a seat." Ragnok said pointing to the three seats before his large dark wooden desk. Once the three had taken a seat the door closed and magically sealed itself, so no one outside of the room would be cable to hear what was going on inside of it.
"So Mr Lupin. As I understand it you wish to formally adopt Mr Harry Potter and by so doing change his name to Raiden Carlisle James Lupin, is that correct?" Ragnok asked as he looked at the paper before him.
"Yes Ragnok." Remus agreed.
"I see. You wish for his identity to remain a secret, as such only those within the Goblin Nation to the truth."
"Yes Ragnok. We do not wish for Dumbledore to find out and send him back to his magic hating muggle relatives who abused him. We'd also like to lock the account to make sure no one but Raiden or those of his blood can enter any of his vaults." Remus added.
"That is agreeable and can certainly be accomplished by this bank. Albus Dumbledore has tried on numerous accounts since the Late Lord Potter died in fact, to enter the vaults. We of course have not permitted any of his attempts and have warned him he is at threat of becoming an enemy of the Goblin Nation.
We will also recall any and all keys and permit Mr Potter with a card, like a Muggle credit card, that will allow him and only him to withdraw money, it can also be used in the Muggle World so you do not have to exchange money." Ragnok informed them. "Now, Mr Potter as you are now fourteen and the last of your Line you can take up the Lord Potter ring and your father can sit on the Wizengamot as your proxy until you are seventeen, they will not be able to refuse you even though you are a werewolf Mr Lupin. Once you have claimed the ring you will become Lord Lupin as you have changed your name unless you change it again to your mates surname Whitlock when you both complete the bond when you are of age."
"They won't be able to arrest my Dad will they?" Raiden asked worried.
"No Mr Potter they will not, if they try they will be breaking their own laws and the laws with us." Ragnok assured. "Now I want you to prick your right ring finger and place it on the crest on the box for three seconds to claim the Lord ring." Ragnok said as he put a black and red ornate box on the table that had the Potter Family Crest on the lid and a dagger besides the box. Grasping the dagger Raiden did as instructed and pricked his right ring finger and placed the bloody finger on the crest for three seconds, while Jasper was pleasantly surprised that the blood of his mate didn't affect him and knew the stories were true if you had a human mate the blood didn't tempt you.
"Well done. Now if you place it on your right ring finger it'll shrink to fit and will grow if needed as you age. Once done if you place three drops on this parchment to confirm who you are, and that you agree with all that has been discussed. Then on this card to tie it to your bloodline then our business will be complete." Ragnok said as he pushed over the parchment that stated the changes to his account and name, as well as what Remus and Ragnok had discussed and the Gringotts card. Raiden picked up the beautiful golden ring from the box that had his crest on it, and placed it on his finger where it shrunk to fit. Then he re-pricked his finger that had magically healed and placed the required amount of blood on the parchment and the card.
"Thank you Lord Lupin may your enemies tremble before you and your mate and may your families gold continue to grow." Ragnok said with a bow of his head.
"Thank you Ragnok for everything. May your gold never cease and your enemies tremble before you're great nation." Raiden said as he bowed his head, Remus and Jasper bowing their own heads as they smiled proudly at Raiden. Once the parchment had been filled and the card had been placed in a Gringotts moleskin wallet (that came with the card) and paid the amount of Galleons for their meeting and transactions today, Remus, Raiden and Jasper left the bank and reentered Diagon Alley. Feeling much happier then they arrived as they started their day of shopping.
