Well guys, it's been way too long. I really don't know what to say here, other than I'm sorry. I'm sorry for starting this fic, promising an ending and never getting there. Life has been hectic, I have been dealing with depression and it really caused me to lose myself and my will to do much of anything. That being said, I am better now. I've missed my creative side, and watching The haunting of Bly Manor has made me want to start writing again. Of course, I'll be writing about Dani and Jamie. But I at least owe the Bechloe fandom the ending to this fic, afterall I still get DM's about it years later. It's crazy. You are all so awesome and I appreciate every single person who took the time to read, follow and comment any of my fics!
That being said, I apologize if it isn't what you were hoping for. I have not written anything in years, so I am rusty. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!

"True love is not how you forgive, but how you forget, not what you see but what you feel, not how you listen but how you understand, and not how you let go but how you hold on." - Unknown
Beca and Chloe both stood still, their mouths agape staring at their best friend who stood in front of them, smiling.
"You heard me." Aubrey chuckled, almost as if she sounded proud. Which of course, she was. She felt, no, she knew she had every right to be proud.
"I- I don't understand." Chloe looked over at Beca, who was still staring at Aubrey, confusion written all over her face. She looked back at Aubrey and attempted to speak once more, her mouth felt dry and her chest felt heavy. She cleared her throat and shook her head. "Aubrey, what plan?"
Aubrey detected a hint of agitation and she couldn't help but giggle at her best friend, whom she had never been able to pull a fast one on before. She let out a sigh, and gestured towards the bed with her hand, indicating that the three of them needed to sit and chat about everything. Aubrey pulled out Chloe's computer chair and sat down, facing Beca and Chloe who were now sitting on the bed, waiting.
"Well, it all started a few weeks ago. Remember when Chloe and I went out that night and you were too tired to join, which ended up causing a huge argument between you and Chloe?" Aubrey softly smiled at Beca, she knew talking about this was not going to be a fun trip down memory lane for either of the women.
"Oh you mean the argument that ended with Chloe asking me for a divorce?" Beca replied sarcastically. "I almost forgot, thanks for the reminder."
Chloe frowned as she rested her hand on her lover's thigh. "Beca, I…" Chloe had started to say something but was quickly cut off by Aubrey.
"We're not here to dwell on what happened, you two are clearly ready to work through it so let's not worry about the past right now." Aubrey was clearly trying to avoid any discussion that would undo all the progress the two women have made in the last few days.
"Anyways, like I was saying. That night out, I could see how much Chloe was hurting but she was unwilling to admit it at the time. She was more focused on fueling her anger than she was on recognizing what was actually going on." Aubrey shrugged as she looked over at her best friend, who was now looking more confused than ever.
"What do you mean? What was actually going on?" Chloe genuinely felt confused and interested in what Aubrey was saying.
"Well, it had become clear with all of us that you two had gotten into such a routine of not talking about your feelings that nothing was ever getting sorted out and instead, it was just festering inside you both. So every time you two had an argument, instead of sitting down and talking about what was going through your heads, you just piled it on top of all the other arguments you two had since….well, since you know." Aubrey softly smiled at them, knowing the miscarriage had still caused greif for them.
Beca and Chloe both looked down at their feet, as they heard their friend speak. Everything she had pointed out, made sense and they were both angry at themselves for not recognizing it on their own.
Suddenly, Beca shot her head up and lifted an eyebrow as she stared at her friend. "Wait a second, all of us?" Beca had almost missed that core detail. Almost.
Aubrey laughed and winked at them both. "How else would I have gotten you two to stay with one another just long enough to remind you of everything you two had together? That night we went out, Chloe left my car with her mind made up. I tried to talk some sense into her, telling her to wait until after the holidays and see how things were. I tried to open her eyes to what the real issue was. But she was too stubborn and upset to listen." Aubrey sighed and paused, she looked over at Beca and Chloe, who still had a look of shock written all over their faces.
"Anyways, that morning I got a text from Chloe and I knew I had to think fast. So, I called your mom." Aubrey looked at Chloe and smiled. "I told her what was going on and what had happened. She said she knew you two were going through a rough patch, but I guess you weren't filling her in with all the details."
Chloe winced at the thought of that conversation, and how angry her mom must have been with her.
"We got to talking, I told her that you two were clearly still in love but you just needed to be reminded of that love, and that we were running short on time so we had to think fast. That is when we came up with the idea to force you two to spend time with each other, act like everything was okay and maybe eventually it wouldn't be an act anymore." Aubrey got up from the computer chair and started to pace around.
"Of course we knew that wouldn't be enough. We knew we also had to remind you two of the good times, remind you of why you two were together in the first place. You're perfect for one another." Aubrey then turned around to face Beca. "As much as it pains me to say, since I know we didn't get off on the right foot. But you are Chloe's soulmate. You complete her. Before you, Chloe was...happy enough. But you….you made her the happiest I had ever seen her." Aubrey smiled as she sat back down.
Beca blushed and looked down at her knees, where her hands were placed perfectly still. She smiled as she saw Chloe's hand lay on top of hers, gently squeezing. She then looked up at Aubrey and nodded. "And you," Aubrey continued. "I think it's safe to say, we know what your life was like B.C." She laughed when she saw Beca squint and softly say to herself "B.C?"
"Before Chloe." Aubrey explained. "Anyways, so your mom," she gestured to Chloe. "She called your mom," now gesturing to Beca. "And well, the rest as they say, is history. They got you two to feel guilty enough to stay together for the holidays, which gave us all just enough time to remind you of your love for one another and force you two to get along, even if it was just you guys faking it at first.." Aubrey smiled.
Beca and Chloe sat silently, shocked. Aubrey sat back down and patiently waited for either of them to say something...ask something, do anything.
A minute passed and she got impatient. "Well, say something!" She urged.
Chloe once again cleared her throat. Only this time, instead of saying something, she got up and left the room.
Beca frowned as she watched her wife leave. What did this mean? Is this going to push all their progress back now that they both know their progress was pretty much forced upon them up until now? Should she go after her? Should she give her space?
Luckily, just as Beca was contemplating on what to do next, Chloe walked back in. She was carrying a wrapped gift box, one of those gift boxes that are used for clothing. Chloe sat down and looked at Aubrey. "Can you give us a few minutes?"
Aubrey was hesitant, but loosened up when she saw Chloe smile and wink. She then got up and quickly left the room.
Beca sat and looked over at Chloe, she softly smiled and quickly looked down at the floor and back up at Chloe. "What's wrong?" Chloe asked, she could tell something was on Beca's mind. She knew her wife well enough to know her little signals and looks she gives when something is bothering her.
"I'm just worried," Beca softly said.
"About what?" Chloe tried her best to hide her concern, but she was starting to feel worried about what was going through Beca's mind.
"What this means for us." Beca specified. She looked up at Chloe and kept eye contact with her. She was done hiding from conversations that terrified her, she knew that her and Chloe had to have this discussion or it would always be in the back of her head.
"Oh," Chloe replied. Beca could hear the concern in her lover's voice. "What exactly are you worried about?" She finished.
"Well, we only fixed our marriage because our family interfered and tricked us into it. What does that say about us? Are we that out of sync that we needed that much help from everyone?" Beca bit her lip and the sadness flashed in her eyes as she stared at Chloe.
Chloe took a minute to carefully think of what she was going to say in reply to Beca's concerns. She then signed, and grabbed Beca's hand.
"Beca, sometimes in life even the happiest people can get sad." She started and paused. "And there are times where even the smartest person in the world, doesn't have all the answers and needs assistance." She saw the confusion grow on Beca's face and she couldn't help but smile at how adorable her wife was when she got confused.
"What I am trying to say is, no one is perfect and no couple is perfect. Are we perfect for each other? Yes. That doesn't mean however that once in a while, we won't run into some problems where we might require assistance from the outside world. That doesn't define who we are as a couple. What defines us is if we choose to accept the help offered to us when we know we are struggling." Chloe raised her hand to Beca's face, softly cupping her cheek.
"We should have accepted help a long time ago, but we both felt too proud and too stubborn to, and look where that had us ending up?" Chloe then got up from the bed and helped her hand out for Beca to grab, who accepted it right away and stood up so that they were facing each other.
"So to answer your question, what does this mean for us? It means we've grown as a couple. We have realized that there's nothing wrong with accepting help." Chloe smiled. "I am so thankful that our families cared enough about us to know that we would both be miserable for the rest of our lives without each other, and they acted to help fix what we were having trouble fixing ourselves."
Beca stood still, taking Chloe's words in. She was always caught off guard with how smart she was, and how she could always make Beca feel at ease with no problem, whenever she felt tense.
"So, with that being said," Chloe's eyes lit up as she held the box in front of her. "Merry Christmas, open it!"
Beca smirked as she grabbed the box from Chloe, carefully unwrapping it. Confusion struck her face as she pulled off the top of the box and saw divorce papers.
"Uh Chloe…" Chloe laughed as she heard the concern and confusion in Beca's voice.
"I thought we could burn them together." Chloe smirked. "Kinda like, a renewal of our vows I suppose?" Her heart skipped a beat when she saw how happy Beca was. The two stood there, taking each other in for a good minute. Chloe saw the wheels turning in Beca's head. "What is it baby?" She was taken aback when she felt herself being pushed back onto the bed, Beca kissing her deeply. It was a kiss that meant everything to them, a kiss that told them everything was going to be alright. A kiss so passionate, neither of them had ever experienced one like it, even after all their years together.
"God, I just love you so fucking much Chloe Mitchell." Beca whispered, once more closing the gap between their faces, kissing her wife deeply. After a moment, Beca pulled back one last time "I will never stop loving you. I will love you even after I die." Beca's voice shaked from excitement, as she took her time appreciating the moment she was having with her wife, not wanting one thing to change about their lives.
Of course, as they had learned in the past, nothing stays the same forever.
Six years later…
Beca groaned as she woke up from a deep slumber, yawning as she slowly opened her eyes. A smile grew across her face as she watched the brunette beside her, sleeping peacefully. God, Beca had thought she knew what true love was. She had no idea how wrong she was until the day she first laid eyes on Maxine, that was the day her life changed forever.
"Morning sleepy head" Beca brushed the hair from Maxine's face, waking Maxine up.
"Good morning mommy," she said in her tiny, tired voice. "I had a bad dream so mom said I could sleep with you."
Beca smiled at her daughter softly. "Oh no, you had a bad dream? What was it about this time?" Beca sat up and patted the mattress, indicating for Maxine to come closer.
Maxine shuffled as she sat up, beside her mom."I had a dream that you and mom had a fight and that you left and didn't want to see us anymore." She mumbled as she frowned and kept her head down.
Beca brought her fingers up to her daughter's chin and lifted her head up. "Hey, you never have to worry about me or mom leaving. We both love you so much, and we love each other so much. That will never happen, I promise."
Chloe stood quietly at the bedroom door, watching her wife calm her daughter down from all her worries. God, she could not help but think about how lucky she was.
"You know mommy is right," Chloe entered the bedroom, "Neither of us would ever leave you, or each other. There is so much love in this house, almost too much! That's why we are going to take all the extra love that we have just lying around here, and give it to your soon to be brother." Chloe rubbed her swollen belly, as she looked at her wife and daughter. She blushed when she saw Beca staring.
Beca got up and walked over to her wife, wrapping her arms around her. "You are so beautiful, I still can't get over how lucky I am." She whispered as she rested her hand on her wifes stomach.
"You and me both," Chloe sighed.
"Me too!" Maxine got up and yelled as she ran over to her mom's excitedly. Beca laughed as she picked her daughter up and held her between her and Chloe, both of them hugging her tightly.
Divorce, a word people use when they want to end their marriage. Divorce was a word Beca had never really thought of. Divorce was what her parents went through when she was young, it was what ruined her life and almost completely pulled her away from ever wanting to commit to someone and get married. Then she met Chloe and completely changed her mind on marriage. Divorce was also a word that Beca never had to worry about again.
The end
