Day 29 - From trustingHim17: Mycroft saves the day
A/N: 221B, continuation of previous day, and kind of a silly one.
.
.
Moriarty's trail had gone cold once again, and Holmes and I returned to 221B, weary and cold, but pleased to find everything was as we had left it. Everything except one giant plaque that now adorned the hall.
"Mrs Hudson, when and where did you obtain this," I asked, staring at the gold plaque.
"Oh that?" Mrs Hudson said, "It's just from a baking contest I entered."
"Baking contest?"
"Why yes, I hadn't intended on entering it, but I had to help Inspector Lestrade solve one of his cases."
"Mrs Hudson, I believe you've had a more fruitful week than we have," Holmes remarked.
"It was just a small case, really," she said, blushing, though there was a pleased look on her face. Then she grumbled about "getting supper ready without distractions," and busied herself in the kitchen.
Holmes' brother Mycroft stopped over later, after Mrs Hudson had served us our meal, to inform us that Moriarty had left the country for the time being, and was likely in South America now.
"Have you tried your landlady's baking, from the day she won first prize?" Mycroft asked as the conversation turned to happier subjects.
Holmes and I both shook our heads, and at that, Mycroft pulled a tin from his coat. "Fortunately, there are a few left-over that I bought."
