Chapter 15: Burning Hearts
Another day in Chaotic. Sidney and Minnie were doing some trading. "Come on, Sid. This is a great deal for you. Your scan of that excellent spot near Lake Ken-I-Po for these 3 UnderWorlders, guaranteed to help bring some major firepower." Minnie said, offering her Banshor, Spyder and Skreeth. "I don't know, Min." Sidney said, feeling down. "What's with you?" Minnie asked. "I'm not sure if I should be trading for UnderWorlders." Sidney said. "Don't tell me your still on about Chaor nearly destroying you." Minnie hoped. "No! I got over that. It's just that, I don't fully understand UnderWorlders." Sidney said. "But you've battled as Drakness and Solvis." Minnie said. "I know, but I don't understand what it means to battle as an UnderWorlder." Sidney said. "I know just what you need. I know some of my UnderWorlder friends are patrolling near Pouril Forest right now. Let's go down there, meet them, get some scans and hang out." Minnie suggested. Sidney felt unsure about this, but nodded.
Sidney and Minnie readied themselves at the Transport Center. "Let's hope this changes my view on UnderWorlders." Sidney said. "Just transport yourself and see, okay?" Minnie said. Sidney nodded. They tapped their scanners and ported to Perim.
When Sidney and Minnie got to Pouril Forest, they started to look around for any sign of the UnderWorlders. "You sure the UnderWorlders are patrolling around here, Minnie?" Sidney asked. "I'm sure. A lot of the Creatures in the Alliance roam freely around Perim nowadays." Minnie said. Suddenly, the girls were blasted off their feet. "What was that?" Sidney asked as she groaned. Suddenly, a Mipedian dropped his invisibility to reveal himself. Sidney and Minnie gasped as the Mipedian loomed over them growling.

"Humans are not welcome in my territory. Now you must pay." The Mipedian said, preparing to attack. As Sidney and Minnie braced for the attack, the Mipedian was suddenly blasted into the shrubs. "What was that?" Sidney asked in shock. "That was me." A voice came from where the blast came from. There, out from the trees, came a familiar UnderWorlder snake Creature. "Pyrithion." Minnie said. "It's not safe out here. Follow me. My camp is nearby." Pyrithion said, heading back into the forest. Sidney and Minnie followed. The Mipedian peaked out from the bushes. "So, the humans join forces with the enemy. Good. This will really please my master." The Mipedian said.
Pyrithion led Sidney and Minnie to his campsite. There waited Dardemus, Dyrtax, Piddan, Klasp and 4 UnderWorld soldiers. "I gotta say, Pyrithion's pretty cool." Sidney said. "Especially for-" "For an UnderWorlder?" Pyrithion guessed, hearing what Sidney was saying. "You dislike my kind?" He asked. "No! I mean, not UnderWorlders like you. It's UnderWorlders like the one who attacked us." Sidney said. "That was no UnderWorlder. That was Ganassaran. A Mipedian who served as a spy for Lord Van Bloot." Pyrithion revealed. Sidney was shocked to hear this. "Van Bloot had more than just UnderWorlders under his command." Pyrithion said. Sidney put all this to thought. "Now why is it that you feel this way about UnderWorlders?" Pyrithion asked. "A while back, Sid had a bad run-in with Chaor. She doesn't really understand what it means to be an UnderWorlder." Minnie explained. "Have you ever battled as an UnderWorlder?" Pyrithion asked. "Only Drakness and Solvis." Sidney said. "Perhaps if you saw the world through another UnderWorlder's eyes, you might understand better." Pyrithion said. "How?" Sidney asked. "Scan me. Then, when you use me in your matches, you may see the world as I do." Pyrithion said, holding his arms out so he can be scanned. "Alright. I'll try it." Sidney said, pulling out her scanner. She aimed it at Pyrithion, pressed the button and scanned him.
Just then, there was a rustling sound nearby. Pyrithion sensed the movement with his hood and pushed Sidney and Minnie out of the way. The other UnderWorlders armed themselves as Ganassaran dropped his invisibility. "Joining with the thieving UnderWorlders to take Pouril Forest for the Alliance! Just goes to show that humans should never be trusted!" Ganassaran said, blasting a Cyclone Slam. Dardemus was slammed into the tree. Piddan and Klasp both fired Torrent of Flame, but Ganassaran turned invisible again. Klasp and Piddan prepared for whatever was to come. Suddenly, Klasp was grabbed. Ganassaran dropped his invisibility, holding Klasp tightly in his tail. Piddan was about to attack, but Ganassaran tossed Klasp, hitting him in the head. Dyrtax took aim with a Liquilizer from up a tree. Ganassaran sensed this and fired an Windslash, knocking Dyrtax out of the tree.
Pyrithion recovered and glared at the evil Mipedian. "Coil Crush!" He shouted, wrapping his tail around Ganassaran and started squeezing him tightly. "This forest as well as these humans, is under the protection of the Alliance. Go back to whoever sent you here and leave us!" Pyrithion ordered. "So, you can take away the rest of my master's dreams?! Never!" Ganassaran said, delivering a Lightning Burst on Pyrithion and freeing himself. Pyrithion retaliated by firing a Heat Rage at Ganassaran. The Mipedian took it and fought back with a Power Pulse, knocking Pyrithion to the ground. "One less cave dweller in the master's domain." Ganassaran said, preparing to finish Pyrithion off. "Hey! What's buzzin', cousin?" Sidney's voice called. Ganassaran looked up, seeing Sidney and Minnie up in a tree. Sidney knocked a beehive off a nearby branch, hitting Ganassaran in the head and causing the bees to attack him. Ganassaran screamed in pain from getting stung and ran off. Sidney and Minnie climbed down the tree and helped Pyrithion back up. "You alright?" Sidney asked. "I'm fine, thanks to you." Pyrithion said. "Gotta say, Sidney Majors, even if you prefer to use OverWorlders, you have a true burning heart of an UnderWorlder." Sidney smiled.
A few days later in Chaotic, Sidney was preparing for her match against a girl named Gisele in BattleDrome Hotekk. "You're MajorTom's daughter, right? I've read up on you and your father. You both have nice stats." Gisele said. "Thanks." Sidney said. "I've been looking forward to this. Haven't had any interesting matches in a while." Gisele said. "Interesting matches?" Sidney asked. "You know, mixing up your deck. You've probably noticed that most players still prefer one tribe over the others. I for one prefer using Danians, but I have a few Creatures from the other tribes in my deck too. But no matter how you choose to assemble your deck, at least make it interesting for me, okay?" Gisele said as she started looking through her Creatures.
Sidney thought back on what Pyrithion said to her when she scanned him. "Scan me. Then when you use me in your matches, you may see the world as I do." She flipped through her Creatures until she got to Pyrithion. 'Alright Pyrithion. I'll put you in my cleanup position.' Sidney thought, putting Pyrithion in the back. 'I'll even try one of my dad's favorite UnderWorlders on the frontline.' She flipped through her Creatures, stopping at another UnderWorlder. 'Banshor. That should give Gisele an interesting challenge.' She put Banshor up front at the bottom. 'I'll use Frafdo and Gespedan for some speed. And Lomma, and Deenha.' Sidney placed her said 4 OverWorlders in her last 4 empty spaces. 'For Gear, the Ring of Na'arin will be a boost for Pyrithion, and the Pyroblaster will let Banshor use fire attacks. The Skeletal Steed will give Lomma some extra accuracy, and I'll give Deenha some extra Mugic melody with the Mugician's Lyre. I'll give Gespedan a Vlaric Shard, and Frafdo, my little fav, the Airsaulter.' She thought, equipping her Creatures with her selected BattleGear. 'Now for Mugic.' She started flipping through her Mugics. 'The Song of Fury my Aunt Lulu used was pretty awesome. So, I'll use that for a last resort of defense. And for offense, the Roar of the Mob.' She dragged her 2 UnderWorld Mugics on the board. Gisele was picking her Locations. 'Gisele wants interesting battles? Fine. I'll use a mix deck of my favorite Locations. Plus, one little surprise.' Sidney thought, picking out her Locations, including Skeletal Springs, Castle Pillar, the Riverlands and Castle Bodhran.
"Ladies, lock your decks." The Drome Master instructed. Sidney and Gisele locked their decks and revealed their teams. On Gisele's team, she had Kelvedran, Ghundac, Vollash, Formicidor, Kebna and Ekuud. "Well, well. Mixing OverWorlders with UnderWorlders. This will be interesting." Gisele said. "Because GazelleGisele won her last match here in the Hotekk Drome, she will attack first." The Drome Master declared. "Please activate your Location randomizer." Gisele spun her randomizer until it stopped on the first Location. "The first Location: Mount Pillar." "Ghundac attacks Banshor!" Gisele declared, tapping her Ghundac card. She then transformed into the big flying Danian. Sidney then tapped her Banshor and transformed into the creepy banshee demon. "Let's get Chaotic." She said.
Ghundac flew through the halls at Mount Pillar, looking for Banshor. Banshor hid behind a pillar, preparing to strike. As Sidney slowly moved in to strike, Ghundac sensed her movement. "Nice try, UnderWorlder! Cyclone Slam!" He said, turning around and catching Banshor in a cyclone. "Power Pulse!" Sidney shouted, driving a Power Pulse to the ground, destroying the cyclone. "Airize!" Ghundac shouted, firing Airize from his hands and blasting Banshor into a tunnel. Ghundac flew in after, but lost sight of Banshor. "Over here." Sidney's voice called. Ghundac turned around and Banshor appeared out of the shadows. "Fire Stream!" Banshor fired his fire attack from his Pyroblaster, hitting Ghundac in the chest and coding him.
Back in the Drome, Gisele looked on as Sidney transformed back. "Nice battle, Majorina. You really know how to play." She said. "You haven't seen nothing yet." Sidney said.
Sidney's attack. "Deenha attacks Vollash!" In Skeletal Springs, Deenha blasted Vollash with Lightning Burst, coding him.
Gisele's attack. "Kelvedran attacks Banshor!" At Queen's Gate, Banshor blasted Kelvedran with a Steam Rage from his Pyroblaster, coding him.
Sidney's attack. "Lomma attacks Kebna!" In UnderWorld City, Lomma blasted Kebna with Frostblight, coding him.
Gisele's attack. "Formicidor attacks Gespedan!" In Gloomuck Swamp, Gespedan was blasted by Formicidor's Earth Pulse, getting coded in the process.
Sidney's attack. "Deenha attacks Ekuud!" At Castle Bodhran, Ekuud blasted Deenha with a Riptide from his Liquilizer, coding her.
Gisele's attack. "Formicidor attacks Frafdo!" In the Hunter's Perimeter, Frafdo blasted Formicidor with a Cyclone Slam from his Airsaulter, coding him.
Sidney's attack. "Lomma attacks Ekuud!" At Castle Pillar, Lomma, trapped in a trap, was blasted by Ekuud's Lavalanche, getting coded.
Gisele's attack. "Ekuud attacks Frafdo!" Frafdo and Ekuud prepared to face off in Mount Pillar's Reservoir. Ekuud blasted Frafdo with Freeze Flash, sending him into the water. "Cyclone Slam!" Frafdo shouted, creating a typhoon in the water. "Thunder Shout!" Ekuud shouted, blasting the typhoon and creating a wave that crashed on Frafdo, coding him.
"Look's like you're down to the bottom of the barrel, Majorina." Gisele said, transforming back. Sidney just stayed silent and spun her randomizer. It stopped at her little surprise. The Nest of the Ancestors. Sidney looked her 2 UnderWorlders. She knew who she was gonna choose. "Pyrithion attacks Ekuud!" She declared.
Ekuud walked through the remains of the field that held a great battle between the UnderWorlders and the Danians. "Yoo-hoo! Majorina! You ready to finish this?" Gisele called. Suddenly, she noticed movement nearby. Pyrithion emerged from behind a rock, forming the Ring of Na'arin on his finger. Ekuud attacked with Pebblestorm. Pyrithion activated the Ring, creating an energy shield that blocked the attack. But the shield quickly lost power and Pyrithion got hit by 3 stray pebbles. Pyrithion quickly dematerialized the Ring, seeing that it was useless now. "Good try, but you're gonna need more than a piece of finger bling to stop me." Ekuud said. "Granite Balls!" He fired balls of granite from his eyes, pounding Pyrithion right in the chest. "Fire Ring!" Pyrithion shouted, driving his tail into the ground and creating a giant ring of fire around Ekuud. "Clever. But that won't stop me. Rock Wave!" Ekuud said, slamming his fists to the ground and creating a wave made of rock, striking Pyrithion. Ekuud loomed over his seemingly defeated opponent. "Sorry kid, but you're finished." He said. "I think not." Sidney said, casting a Mugician to activate her Song of Fury Mugic. "Song of Fury!" The Mugic played in key as it activated. A beam of light shined over Pyrithion. The effects appeared to be too much for him as he toppled to the ground. But then, his head rose up. His eyes glowed with burning fury. Ekuud gasped with shock as Pyrithion formed a giant superpowered Flame Orb between his hands. He then tossed it, sending Ekuud into the rocks. Ekuud rubbed his head, but didn't have time to recover. "Blaze Barage!" Pyrithion sent a fury of fire streams at Ekuud, coding him on contact.
"The winner: Majorina." The Drome Master declared. Sidney walked over to Gisele. "Nice game." She said, holding up her hand. "You really are your father's daughter." Gisele said, shaking her hand.
At the Port Court, Sidney and Gisele sat down with Minnie and Robbie. "The Song of Fury Mugic? Where'd you get the idea to put that in your deck?" Robbie asked. "I watched that match between my Uncle Peyton and Aunt Lulu yesterday. Thought it'd be a big help for my match." Sidney said. "So, Sid's quite the player, huh Gisele?" Minnie asked. "Yeah, she is totes good. And I think if I stick with you guys, maybe I could get even better." Gisele said. "I think I could live with that." Robbie said. "Welcome to the group." Minnie said, raising her cup. Gisele smiled and raised her cup too.
