"You know you're walking right into her trap?" The cat says as he is walking beside Alexis and Coraline as they crawl through the tunnel.
"I have to go. They are my parents." Coraline says.
"Challenge her then. She may not play fair but she won't refuse. She's got a thing for games." The cat says as Alexis and Coraline look at him.
"Interesting." Alexis says.
"Okay." Coraline says as a breeze blows out her candle.
"Coraline?" A female voice asks sounding like Mrs. Jones.
"Mom?" Coraline asks as she and Alexis see a shadow looking like Mrs. Jones.
"Coraline you came back for us." Mrs. Jones says as Coraline runs to hug her as Alexis sees it is Beldam and quickly gets between the two before shifting to wolf form growling.
"Where are her parents?" Alexis asks as she growls.
"Gosh I have no idea where her old parents are. Perhaps they've grown bored of you and ran away to France." Beldam says.
"They weren't bored of me you stole them!" Coraline says angrily as Alexis growls.
"Now don't be difficult you two. Have a seat won't you?" Beldam asks as other father picks Alexis and Coraline up before placing them in chairs.
"Why don't you have your own key?" Coraline asks as she sees Beldam lock the little door and eats the key.
"Made one key." Other Father says.
"The garden squash need tending don't you think pumpkin?" Beldam asks as she drags Other Father toward the door.
"Squish squash." Other Father says as he is dragged out by Beldam as Coraline and Alexis hear a noise.
"Mom? Dad? Where'd she hide you?" Coraline asks.
"Breakfast time." Beldam says as Alexis and Coraline go into the kitchen while she is cooking before Alexis nudges Coraline as they sit at the table.
"Why don't we play a game?" Coraline asks.
"We know you like them." Alexis says.
"Everybody likes games. What kind of game would it be?" Beldam asks as she is cooking.
"An exploring game. A finding things game." Coraline says.
"And what is it you two would be finding?" Beldam asks.
"My real parents." Coraline says.
"Too easy." Beldam says.
"And the eyes of the ghost children." Alexis says.
"Huh. What if you don't find them?" Beldam asks as she puts an omelet and bacon on Alexis and Coraline's plates.
"If we lose then we'll stay here forever with you and let you love us. And we'll let you sow buttons into our eyes." Coraline says as she looks at the buttons on the table.
"And if you somehow win this game?" Beldam asks.
"Then you let me go. You let everyone go. Alexis, my real father and mother, the dead children. Everyone you've trapped here." Coraline says.
"Deal." Beldam says as he holds out her hand.
"Not until you give us a clue." Coraline says.
"Alright. In each of three wonders I've made just for you a ghost's eye is lost in plain sight." Beldam says.
"And for her parents?" Alexis asks as Beldam chuckles and taps one of her button eyes.
"Fine. Don't tell us. It's a deal. What does she mean? Wonders?" Coraline asks as she and Alexis see Beldam is gone.
"I think I know. Come on." Alexis says as she leads Coraline out of the kitchen.
