STEP TWO: EXPLAIN THE PLAN AND FIND A DATE
"Wait, what?" Ginny looked at Hermione with an astonished look on her face.
Hermione nodded, "It is the only thing I could think of. I tried every other plan, but all of them had something that would most likely go wrong!"
Ginny shrugged, "Well, if this doesn't work then I guess I can make the next plan."
"Sure," Hermione smiled. It was so nice to be on good terms with the ginger again.
"Ok, so I'm going to call and make reservations at this new restaurant Dean and Seamus have just opened," Ginny began to to get up. "While I do that, can you make a checklist? I definitely won't be able to remember all of the steps to your plan."
"Sure." Hermione conjured up a quill and paper and began to write down the plan just as it was in her mind. It looked crazy, she would admit, but it would work. It had to.
Ginny came back just a few minutes afterwards with a smile on her face. "Reservations are good to go!"
"Great!" Hermione smiled back, relieved that the plan was going well. "That is one thing we can check off the list!"
Quickly, she checked off the box next to the task. Ginny grabbed the list from her hands and looked over it again.
"The more I look at this, the more I think you are out of it," Ginny laughed, "this is such a silly plan, and not like you at all Hermione."
"Well, I did try to think to myself, what would Ginny do?" Hermione smirked at the ginger, who then threw one of the couch pillows at her.
She batted it away before giggling a little.
"Okay, but seriously, we need to focus on this game plan right now," Ginny said, and the look on her face reminded Hermione of how the redhead looked right before a quidditch match. Serious and focused.
Hermione nodded, sobering as she thought of how little time they had.
They had already checked off step one of the plan, which had been to get Ginny to help. And step of the plan was half way there; Ginny had been able to make a two reservations at a restaurant for tonight, but they still needed to find Hermione a fake date to go with her.
They had just gone through just about everything they ever knew, thinking about their potential as a date, but each one was crossed off. They were all unsuitable, from already being in a relationship to out of reach or just straight up unbelievable.
"Too bad Farah does not have a brother," Hermione muttered, frustrated that step two of the plan was taking much longer than she thought it would.
"That's it!" Ginny exclaimed, jumping up as she walked towards the floo.
Hermione, who had just said that out of frustration and had not been expecting Ginny to react in such a way, looked at her friend with a look of surprise. "What's it?"
"Farah does have a brother," Ginny said with smile as wide as if she had just scored a goal as she was throwing down the powder.
Farah, the sweet Muslim girl who Hermione had barely had a chance to talk to, might be the answer to all her problems.
While she waited for Ginny to finish the call, Hermione reviewed the plan. On paper, it seemed short, but Hermione knew each step took much longer.
Ginny returned from her floo call with Farah, and sat down next to Hermione again.
Ginny immediately burst into a long-winded explanation, "Okay, so at first, Farah was completely against it, because she reminded me that she is muslim and so is her brother so he does not date. But, I explained it to her more. I told her how it was not a real date and he just needs to stand there and it will be enough. So she had me wait on the call while she found her brother and explained it to him and asked if he would-"
"So he'll do it?" interrupted Hermione, anxious to hear the final decision.
"Yes," Ginny responded.
Hermione let out a sigh of relief. Before she could even ask, Ginny said, "Oh, he will be arriving here in about two hours!"
