Chapter 16
Location: Mercury
Ikora was waiting on Mercury for the Gems to return.
She heard something approaching from behind. "Who's there?" Ikora said as she pointed her gun in the direction of the sound.
"Calm down Ikora, it's just me and Zavalah" Cayde said
"We came as soon as we heard you'd located the Infinite Mind." Zavalah said.
"How'd you know?" Ikora asked.
"The Gems's ghost messaged us." Cayde answered.
"Don't forget us!" someone else said. It was Caleb, Vera, and Ratchet.
"Well you're a little late. They've already gone in. I'm here guarding the entrance to the pyramid." Ikora said.
"Then the rest of us will join them." Zavalah said as he walked up to the pyramid, ready to enter.
Just then something came out of the pyramid.
"Steven?" Zavalah said as the person came out.
"Yep, and everyone else" Steven said as the rest of the Crystal Gems came out of the pyramid.
"So, I'm guessing the Infinite Mind is defeated" Ikora said
"It sure is, and we also brought a friend" Steven said.
Osiris walked out of the pyramid. "Ikora?" He said
"Osiris?" Ikora responded
"It's been along time my stu... Haha I almost said student but I think that word is too small for you now." Osiris said
"Too small my old friend. I've had many teachers since you left." Ikora said. "Time. Pain. And some mysterious Guardians who I am proud to call friends."
"The world has changed" Osiris said.
"So has the city" Ikora said. "you could come back with me"
"No my place is here now" Osiris said looking back to the pyramid. "We stopped the Vex this time. But many equations lead to the same solution. If they were to ever find another…."
Osiris looked the the Gems. "Besides, I predicted many things, but I never saw you. Now we have a future."
"Osiris" Zavalah said as he took a few steps closer, "I'm sorry I didn't believe you. I'm sorry none of us believed what you predicted about the Vex years ago."
"After I left the city, and the Vanguard, you were my replacement" Osiris said. "I can see that you have done a great job, probably better than I would have done. There is no need to be ashamed."
"My friends here need help getting home. They are from the past" Ikora said.
"Ahh yes, your Ghost messaged me the situation before the fight. Here" Osiris handed Steven a remote of some kind. "You can use this to return anytime. It will help you get back home or if you wish to return."
"Thanks" Steven said as he looked at the remote.
Osiris looked to Ikora and said "The pathway to the infinite forest will be open if you ever need to find me, or if you want to talk."
"Great!" Sagira said. "Galaxy saved. Friends again. Our big heroes over here. And by the way, you're welcome"
Osiris smiled at them and turned to the pyramid. He said to his Ghost "come little light, we have infinite realities to explore- and all the time in the world." Osiris said, and entered the pyramid.
The Gems gave everyone hugs and said their goodbyes. "We'll miss all of you. And we will return someday" Connie said
"We'll miss you too. You have been some of the most amazing Guardians I have ever seen." Ikora replied.
"I will always cherish the Vex eye you gave me!" Cayde said.
Steven then activated the remote. They pyriamid's gate turned white and blue.
Their Ghost stayed with with Ikora.
"Goodbye!" the Gems said and walked through the portal. They arrived at their home.
"That was the most amazing experience of my life!" Connie said gladly.
"This will take a while to recover from." Ruby said. "Oh yeah lets fuse" she said to Sapphire. They then fused back into Garnet.
"I don't feel as strong anymore" Amethyst said. She tried to summon a void bow and arrow but it didn't work.
"We must not have our light anymore." Pearl said
"I wonder if Greg will believe us when we tell him our story." Steven said
"Well we have that remote. Maybe that will be proof." Connie said.
"And we still have our amazing armor." Garnet replied
"I have an idea" Amethyst said. "Let's put our suites away and go to The Big Donut!"
They put their suites away quickly and Connie, Steven, and Amethyst ran to The Big Donut.
The end… but not really. I will most likely write an episode 2!
