AN: Well, here it is. The final chapter of MLP Hearts and Hooves Attack. I'm so glad to have published my first finished fanfiction in full. Hope everyone's had a wonderful time. Without further ado, here is the end.

Epilogue

Radiant Hope

The new alicorn is sitting on a hill just outside of Ponyville with Sombra beside her. "They all seem to be having lots of fun."

The gray stallion looks over at her. "If you want to join them, you should."

"No. Not without you."

"I'm not ready. Considering what I did earlier today, it wouldn't feel right. Once we have brought back Princess Amore, then I'll take part in such festivities."

"In that case, that's when I'll do it too."

The pair goes back to watching what the others are doing.

"Look," Hope says with a laugh. "The princesses and their stallions are neck and neck in a couple's questionnaire."

"And that third pony couple is eating their dust," Sombra responds with a chuckle.

"There's Rainbow Dash and Soarin," Hope says while pointing at the sky. "Wow, they're moving fast."

"Seems those two express their love through competition. How fascinating."

"Oh no," Hope says while looking back down towards the ground. "A…funeral."

"Calm down. It's being held for the remains of a rubber chicken."

"What?"

"I overheard Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich planning it earlier on my way over here. Mr. Sandwich had apparently thought of the rubber chicken as a close friend of his. He left it behind somewhere in order to help Pinkie Pie and somepony tried to throw it at one of my clones. It got blasted to pieces."

"As much as I can't believe there's a whole ceremony for it, I'm even more shocked those two ponies convinced others to come."

"I believe the mares are her sisters and the stallions are their special someponies."

"That reminds me!" Hope rushes into her tent and comes back with a box. "Bought this at Sugarcube Corner before reviving you. They call it the Somepony Special, a real sweet treat for couples."

Sombra can't help licking his lips seeing the confection in the box. "Looks delicious."

The pair dig in, enjoying every bite.

Sombra suddenly chuckles. "A funeral for a rubber chicken. Not even Discord as the Lord of Chaos would have thought that up in a million years."

Hope points with her spoon. "Speaking of Discord, he's over there helping Fluttershy with putting a baby bird back in its nest."

"Another example of a wicked soul redeemed through compassion." Sombra takes another bite of the treat. "And there are the Apples."

"They're giving Caramel some black hat. Wow, he's getting really emotional over it."

"Perhaps it is some sort of family item."

"I bet that's it." Hope giggles. "It seems Applejack finds him quite attractive wearing that hat."

Sombra chuckles before noticing another pair. "There goes Rarity and Capper."

"Wonder where they're off to in such a hurry?"

The two watch the inter couple rush inside Carousel Boutique, blushing as they understand what is likely about to happen between the feline and the unicorn. Sombra and Hope continue to eat in silence, both feeling too awkward to talk about anything right then.

Once the treat is all gone and the box gets teleported into the closest trash can, Sombra sees another pair. "There is Starlight and Sunburst enjoying a magic show."

"Their friend, Trixie, is quite the entertainer," says Hope. "Interesting she has a royal such as Prince Blueblood as her boyfriend, not to mention her assistant in the show."

Sombra looks down at his hooves. "Before my clones captured Starlight, they overheard a bit of her conversation with Sunburst. It turns out their story was nearly a gender flipped version of our own."

"I know. The Seer's Charm showed me that."

"However, he failed at magic school and did not return to her out of shame. She reformed from her evil ways without him."

"Princess Twilight's friendship saved her. "Listen, don't dwell too much on the time spent as King Sombra."

"I've already taken a logical viewpoint of it, Hope."

"You have? What is it?"

"I believe that, for some time at least, the world needed me to be the bad guy."

Hope certainly didn't expect that. "Come again?"

"Think about it. Without a dark force to oppose, would the light side shine as brightly as it does?"

Hope had never considered that. "I…guess not."

"I have come to the conclusion that I was chosen to be the antagonist for Princess Twilight and her friends to face in order for them to become who they are today."

"That's…a thought."

"I'm quite glad that I've been allowed to be freed from that role."

Hope places a hoof on the stallion's cheek. "You freed yourself."

Sombra brings the mare in close. "With encouragement from you, Hope." He kisses her.

Once released, Hope gets up and walks away.

"Where are you going?"

The alicorn comes to a stop at the entrance to the tent and looks back with a nervous smile. "Well…now that I have you back, I'd like to enjoy it to its fullest." She goes into her tent with a slight sway of her rump.

As the stallion realizes what she wants, he has to swallow some saliva that was threatening to drool out of him. "Oh." He stands up, trying his hardest to keep his knees from shaking. "In that case…it is rude for a Royal Guard to keep his princess waiting." Sombra follows Hope into the tent.
