We Broke The Rules
Chapter Eleven
"Can you believe that bastard had the balls to say that I am not ready to take over the company! What does he know? He can't even run the company without my mother being there." Sasuke ranted off as he paced back and forth, unable to stay still for even a second. His mind was running with thoughts and he needed to express himself!
Itachi watched him from where he was lying in bed, more than ready to fall asleep. It had been a long day of having to deal with the CEO's of other companies, as well as reporters who wanted to get any information that they could.
"Baby, come to bed." Itachi called, motioning for Sasuke to come to him.
The scowling raven turned to look at his husband, one moment his eyes caught the motion of his hand with curiosity, and found himself moving towards Itachi the next, a smile on his face. Itachi tugged him into bed, rolling them under the covers and getting them comfortable. Even though Itachi was ready to sleep, Sasuke wasn't and he started to rant once more.
"Itachi, my uncle is nothing but an asshole and I want him out of the damned company! He thinks that he can just come out here and try to sabotage what my mom worked so hard to keep when my father died!" Sasuke growled, "Where does he get off thinking that he's even that important, we don't need him!"
"Once you become the boss, you can take him out," Itachi said as he sat up with a sigh, running a hand through his long hair that was out of its tie right now. There was no way he was getting any sleep if he didn't calm Sasuke down first. Pulling Sasuke to sit on his lap and tucking his head under his chin, he said "What I am unhappy with is the fact that he tried to cut you down."
"Huh?" Sasuke asked, tilting his head to try and catch Itachi's eye but it was kind of hard in his current position.
"I mean, the thing he tried was his way of showing that he's scared, and sees you as a threat. While you are new your confidence will weaver, and he thought he could hit you now so his words would bother you as you tried to take your position as the new boss," Itachi easily explained. "your uncle is not the only one who has done it, many who have worked for companies and are older tend to do that to the younger incoming competition to either intimidate or get them to quit entirely."
"So, my own uncle wished me bad in my start." Sasuke huffed, leaning into Itachi's comforting warmth. "What am I supposed to do about that?"
"Prove him wrong," Itachi responded with a slight shrug.
Sasuke groaned, crossing his arms as he pouted. "I don't want to prove shit to him, I don't owe him anything like that. I just want to do my own thing without his fucking criticisms. He can take his thoughts and shove them up his ass!"
Itachi lifted an eyebrow at that, "You don't like this man at all do you," he said it more like a statement than a question. There were a few things that he had noticed and picked up on Sasuke's behavior in the time he had been with him. When Sasuke really didn't like a person, there was little to no room in getting him to even consider that person, much less get him to get along with them. That was what was happening with Kakashi right now. But he is his uncle, family, why wouldn't Sasuke like him?
Sasuke sighed, looking up at the ceiling as he melted against Itachi's chest, "Since I was young I didn't like him pretending to be like my dad or something. I never liked how he came and looked at my mom either, like he likes her like that…" he scrunched up his cute nose in disgust. "He's not my dad, I don't need him to pretend to be. I don't need him making eyes at my mother either!"
"But as your uncle wanting to be a father figure to you, wouldn't that be a nice thing for him to do?" Itachi asked. "Although I get the part of him trying to get with your mom, that's a bit much."
Sasuke shrugged, "I don't know, like I said, I just didn't like it. I don't like him making decisions for our family. I don't like him being in the company, something about that always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm just glad my mom loved my father too much to notice his advances she will be okay. I'm not worried about that."
"Odd," Itachi murmured. Itachi himself came from a close nit family and there was respect. Maybe Kakashi overstepped. That had to be it. "Then he might not like you either." Itachi didn't like that thought.
"Oh I know he doesn't like me either, didn't you hear the damned bastard tried to cut me down!" Sasuke growled.
Itachi rolled his eyes chuckling, "Well it's a good thing you have a husband that has your back and is ready to catch you."
Sasuke turned in Itachi's arms, straddling him, "Yes, I have a very good husband," Sasuke praised, planting soft kisses over Itachi's face. He knew the man was tired and they should be going to bed, but this was still bothering him. "Itachi, my uncle came after us and nearly hurt the company by telling everyone to take the week off. He's acting like he doesn't want me to take over, why? It can't be that he just doesn't like me or that he was trying to teach my mom a lesson. I think he has other motives."
"Well…you being the heir and never wanting to take over might have made him mad when you did decide to take over, but if anything that should make him feel glad and want to cheer for your success." As any doting parent would, if Kakashi wanted to pretend to be such a good father figure. "He instead told you that you'd never measure up and were nothing but a child," Sasuke was thorough in his rants even mimicking how the man had allegedly said it, "if you had decided not to take over, is there a potential that he could have?" Itachi asked.
"My mom took over when my dad died, but I guess since they were brothers you'd think he would be the one to succeed him, right?" Sasuke asked thoughtfully, he didn't even know what Kakashi felt when his father died. "I mean with dad's death and if I remember the clause perfectly, Kakashi would have to have an heir in order to compete and be able to take over. If anything, he should want to have child of his own."
"Why does he having a child invalidate your rights to the head seat?" Itachi asked, now curious about this rule. That is not how things usually worked in his company, but then him as the heir would never be allowed to deny his rights and walk out like Sasuke had.
"Well in the event of the death of the first head, the child or one of the children takes over. That would be me for my dad. While I was declining and making it clear I did not want the head seat, Kakashi could have had a kid and named it to take that positon from me," Sasuke explained. "That way the head seat would have switched from my mother to him, as he would be raising the next head…"
"With a wife that cheats, Kakashi would have to either make an agreement with her to first have a child or find a lover of his own," Itachi murmured, thinking of any potential of that happening. It made sense if Sasuke had not wanted to take over. A company that is run by family would want to keep it in the family. That was why Kakashi and his heir would have had a chance.
"Anko was careful to never get pregnant though, except for this last time it seems in her death. She was only a few months along but if he knew I wonder if he would have protected her." Sasuke muttered. He had talked more with his mom of what had happened to Anko, he just wanted to know. His mother was also stressed by how she had easily told him some of the information. Kakashi wasn't helping at all.
"There would be no way of him telling if the child was his though, if she was cheating, and she had the child, if she was still alive and denied a paternity test or something." Itachi muttered, thinking of the possibility.
"Not unless she kept track of who she was sleeping with. She would always be aware of who's kid she was carrying and my uncle would be none the wiser. It's easy to cheat if you control it right?" Sasuke tapped Itachi's nose with his index finger at that. Itachi frowned a bit narrowing his eyes. "Relax I would never cheat on you."
"I wasn't thinking that," Itachi swiftly denied.
"Sure you weren't, I saw the jealousy all over your face," Sasuke teased.
Itachi narrowed his eyes. "Sasuke," He groaned. Sasuke pecked a kiss to his cheek.
"I'm not that type of person Itachi. I need you to know that." Sasuke cupped his face, "I love you and you're the only one I'll share my body with."
"I trust you Sasuke," Itachi closed his eyes, "I guess I just hate the thought of anyone else having you." he softly confessed.
"Same," Sasuke looked away with a slight blush when Itachi looked at him like that- so in love. He already knew that he could trust Itachi and he wouldn't cheat either. It was weird but also comfortable, because Itachi made it that way in their relationship. "Well, if Anko didn't want to give my uncle a baby, then maybe Iruka would have wanted. But being a man I'm thinking getting pregnant is tougher?"
Itachi nodded, "Not only tougher, sometimes even impossible."
"Your dad did it though." Sasuke murmured, looking at Itachi hopeful.
Itachi smirked, "Sasuke, do you want to try to get me pregnant?" Itachi asked. Sasuke blushed even harder.
"Well if we can." he said, still avoiding Itachi's eyes.
Itachi laughed. "I wouldn't mind trying if either one of us can we will never know unless we try. If we want a child of our own."
Sasuke hummed softly, nodding his head. "I want a baby with you, I don't care which one of us carry it, just as long as we can."
"Do we need to feel motherly instincts in order to have a kid?" Itachi asked, he had rarely looked into it. He had never really thought about carrying a child himself much less having his partner carry one. For Sasuke he would though. Sasuke shrugged his shoulders. Sasuke didn't know whether if Itachi having parents that were both male and successful at having a child made him more capable than him, who came from two different gendered parents. There were not conclusive studies that said anything on either being more capable really, they would just have to try.
"How am I supposed to know? All I know is that being with you makes me want to have one. Only if it's with you." his tone was huffy, a bit indignant as he turned his head to look away once again.
"Hm," Itachi looked Sasuke up and down. Well, they could figure it out eventually. For now they had other things to discuss and worry about. "Be careful Sasuke, I only know that Kakashi is your uncle and you don't like him, but the way he is acting I'm sure he wants the company. I'm putting him on our list of potential suspects."
Sasuke nodded, agreeing with Itachi on that. "I can see him killing someone, he has a bad attitude and his temper can flare up. He once kicked this guy out of the house. He was there helping mom, I don't remember him but for some reason my uncle didn't like him," Sasuke wasn't sure why he remembered that detail, but something in the back of his mind was telling him that it was important. Whoever that man was he didn't seem bad.
"I guess you won't mind if I cut down your uncle," Itachi said, dropping back into the pillows. Sasuke chuckled as he followed after him, lying on top of him.
"I don't mind," he sighed, his mind feeling calmer now that he had talked things out with Itachi. Sleep was finally catching up with him. They still had a lot of things to deal with, a lot of planning to do. After this week, Sasuke will officially be taking office and that had his nerves on edge. But right now, with Itachi he was glad that they were put at ease.
A few days after that he will be graduating.
He had also the decision of where he will live next, but his mind supplied that anywhere Itachi was he would be fine with living there.
"Sasuke?" Itachi called when silence filled the room. His mind was boggled that there was more to say, but sleep was claiming him. When he didn't hear a response from his husband, Itachi allowed himself to sleep.
Kakashi was in his room, on a video call with Iruka who was going on and on about his day, it was kind of boring him to death. He frowned when he learned that Mikoto had ordered someone else to help run the company for the week in their absence. His mind was already trying to find ways to fire that guy and justify it to Mikoto. If she trusted this guy, there was no way that she would just let him go.
How had she known though? Could she really just have called when she saw him here? That had to be it. Maybe he should have held back a couple of days before confronting her and Sasuke here. That way the company would have suffered just a bit.
His mind turned on other things while Iruka babbled away.
Such as how was he going to get Sasuke to change his mind again? The boy already proved to be as stubborn as both his parents. Once he made it up his mind it was near impossible to change it back, which was why Kakashi had to wonder what had happened for him to suddenly change it and want to take over the company?
Could it be that blond brat Naruto that inspired him? Or was it because Uchiha Itachi was taking over his company that Sasuke now felt the need to face the child of the man who killed his father? As far as Kakashi understood it, it seemed like the only one raving and ranting about that had been Mikoto while Sasuke always just followed what she said.
He had to wonder if the brat even cared about his dad.
Maybe Mikoto's pressuring finally got to Sasuke and he had decided to just give in, either way, whatever the case, Kakashi knew that he was out of time. He had to find a way to persuade Sasuke to not want to take over. But while he took care of that, he had to wonder if Iruka was finally pregnant or not, the window would be small at this point, but a pregnancy would really insure things for him. The company would be in his hands, where it belonged in the first place! Before Fugaku had taken over, damned bastard didn't deserve the company nor a woman as beautiful as Mikoto!
"Oh, and we also got a call from the detectives running Anko's case, they told me to tell you to call them as soon as possible. They have something urgent to tell you." Iruka shifted, his eyes watching Kakashi as he wondered why he was so silent. Was he even paying attention to him?
"Didn't they say what?" Kakashi asked, making Iruka sit up straight. He was glad that Kakashi was listening. It made his heart flutter warmly.
"I'm not allowed to know silly," Iruka stuck out his tongue playfully, trying to lighten things. He wanted Kakashi to flirt and tease him or something other than so much silence. It was strange for the man not to tease him at the very least…was he perhaps tired? "You have yet to make me your husband, I need you to put a ring on it to make me official."
Kakashi shifted in his seat, uncomfortable with that comment. "Well you know I'm slow at these things, but I guess I am officially free from my previous marriage. If you really want us to get married, I think that can be arranged…" he drawled off, his tone dropping suggestively.
"Can it?" Iruka asked, slightly excited. Kakashi could read it all over his face, so honest and open like always. His eyes sparkled and his face flushed in hope. Iruka was always just too easy to please. It's too bad Anko was not like that.
"Well yeah, why not. We work well together, you are so perfect. No one turns me on like you do," Kakashi cleared his throat. "Do you think I should really call the officer back though, what could be so urgent about Anko?" he made sure his tone was whiny, trying to draw out that sympathy Iruka showed others.
"Don't know, he said it was something that you'd want to know. You should just call and see if it is, you never know what they might have found out about her." Iruka brushed some of his hair behind his ear. Silence followed their conversation, and Iruka finally just said. "Kakashi I love you."
"Same." Kakashi smiled, and then yawned. "Ah babe, look at the time I have an early morning tomorrow."
"The convention is that tiring?" Iruka asked, tilting his head curiously. He had never gone to one before.
"You know how it is, talking to all these people like they are children, it really takes it out of you," Kakashi waved his hand dismissively at Iruka, "Why don't I call you again tomorrow? I'm going to go to bed now."
"Oh okay, goodnight my love." Iruka smiled, slightly blushing.
"Goodnight," Smiling, Kakashi blew a kiss, and then turned off the chat screen. Once that was done, he sighed as he closed the computer and decided to make the call. He was so pissed. Sasuke so far had not messed up. In fact with Mikoto there the boy was being guided just fine. He had to make sure that he did slip and became scared to run the company.
"Hello, Officer Morino talking,"
"Hello, this is Hatake Kakashi, my secretary said that you asked for me to call you," Kakashi sat back, crossing his legs as he relaxed against the couch. Dealing with these men was also becoming tiring, but he'll find a way to get them off his back.
"Mr. Hatake, yes I wanted to speak with you urgently as you know the case is being taken out of our hands and while I would like to pursue it, I don't know how much longer I will be able to. I am sorry I can't help you find justice for your wife." Idate really did sound sincere in his words, Kakashi had to admit, but he wasn't buying it.
"Yes Mikoto told me the sad news of someone wanting to claim Anko, but I am so confused, as her father died of natural causes and she doesn't have any other family. As far as I know, I was all Anko had!" Kakashi sounded devastated.
"That's not the case, she has a family that legally was adopted and named by her father in his will and other legal papers. She never told you?" Idate's tone was laced with disbelief.
"No, she never mentioned it to me." Damn it, he should have spent more time getting to know her. Too late now.
"Really…It seems she didn't mention much to you at all." Idate said sadly, but the way he sounded didn't rub right with Kakashi.
"What do you mean by that?" He demanded, a bit of anger coming out on his tone. He had to tell himself to calm down as his fingers dug into his knee, trying to breathe calmly.
"Mr. Hatake, your wife was pregnant with your child. I thought a woman that was intimate with a man would have to have mentioned at least a few of her secrets…I'm afraid your wife is just more and more of a mystery and you're no help." Slight anger came off with that statement.
"Di-did you just say she was pregnant with my child?" Kakashi asked, trembling, sitting up suddenly interested.
"That's correct. She was pregnant with your child." Idate's words held bite to them, but Kakashi couldn't care.
Kakashi dropped the phone and screamed. Idate was startled but no matter how much he called to the man the phone wasn't answered and eventually went dead leaving him to wonder. Was Kakashi really that upset…so all this uncaring attitude of his was all for show? Did he really love Anko after all? Ideate was more and more confused with Kakashi's reactions.
Kakashi on the other hand found tears welling in his eyes as he cried, while trying hard not to laugh at the irony. He had been so close! The bitch was actually pregnant with his child. How…Thinking back he could remember her calming down and being around a lot more. She had been more considerate, and closer to him. She had kissed him several times, seducing him with her warmth and words. Spending nights with her had always been filled in an eutrophic haze where he would find himself devouring into her.
And he would forget everything.
All he had wanted was a child and while he planned that to happen with Iruka, he could recall sleeping with her even now. His mind easily supplied that it had to be that one night, the one night where he delighted in her body into the early hours of the night, waking up next to her naked and thinking nothing of it. Could it had been then that it happened?
The thing he had wanted the most, and it was gone.
Kakashi crumbled, laughing through his tears.
Getting up each morning was becoming hard.
Sasuke wasn't sure if it was him being lazy, or he really just didn't want to separate himself from Itachi. That couldn't be healthy to be so attached…but at the same time he chalked it up to being that he was getting comfortable in his relationship with the man. Before all of this he had been denying and trying to put a wall between them, frankly he was exhausted from doing that.
Maybe with time the clinginess will change, but for now, it felt a bit necessary.
Meeting up with his mother for breakfast where they had agreed the day before, the two talked about what was the plan for the day. First they hit the next batch of stores on her list of places to go, and they bought even more clothes. Sasuke groaned, telling her that he had more than he would need the whole week.
His mother had laughed and told him that he could never have enough clothes. That was when she got to talking about how clothes could be used to impress the people he would be meeting, that he had to have something for any occasion. While Sasuke felt the need to tell her that maybe when it came to women there was a larger variety but for him as a male there were only the clean cut suits. He didn't need her to start getting eccentric on him.
Besides, there was one man he really wanted to impress and that was enough thought to allow him to get through the clothes shopping. He sighed in relief as they went back to the hotel to drop things off. Sasuke got dressed into another suit and his mother came knocking looking for him dressed in an elegant button up shirt tucked into a long skirt and killer high heels that strapped over her dainty ankles.
For the next thing to do, they found themselves looking at the new technology and inventions people had come up with. There were always new things to see every day and Sasuke found that although they were interesting none of them fit their company nor offered a new change. His mother made a few comments about how some had potential if they would just change a few things.
When Sasuke asked her about buying out an idea from someone so they could develop it to fit their company she went on a long explanation of what it would entail. Sasuke gave up the idea half way through her explanation of the financing.
It was something to think over in the future when he had more experience, and he knew for sure what would be good for his company. His mother had laughed at his dismissal and from there they walked to the first seminar of the day. The man in the front was talking about teamwork in a company and how to keep employees happy while working together. What you could do as a boss to ensure that everyone was happy, got help in self-care help, and felt safe in their work environment and the importance of it for success.
Looking at the agenda for the seminar, Sasuke wanted to walk out. It was going to take two hours of information.
"Look who it is," His mother snidely said, sinking into her chair and covering part of her face as she discretely pointed. Sasuke looked up from the paper in his hands, wondering who she meant. He followed her line of vision, and that was when he saw him.
Uchiha Itachi.
"Who mom?" he asked, pretending not to know who it was.
"The tall one with long raven hair and the scary look in his eyes," She said, sitting a bit closer to him. "Uchiha Itachi," She finally said his name.
Sasuke made a show of looking for him. He finally settled on where the Uchiha was, his long hair neatly tied in a low ponytail, handsomely dressed in a suit. "Yeah, that looks like Uchiha Itachi," he deadpanned.
"Don't look too long!" his mother hissed, pulling on his arm. "He's going to feel your eyes on him and turn to look at you."
"Really mom, you're the one pointing him out," Sasuke chuckled. He turned to look at Itachi again. It seems like his husband had yet to see him. It was curious to watch him while he sat there, looking all professional. Itachi was reading over the agenda as well, and Kisame looked stiff, keeping on alert of anyone that came near Itachi. "Don't you think he looks kind of handsome though?" Sasuke asked, turning to his mom who was still openly looking as well.
She turned to look at him with narrowed eyes, "Sasuke," she said in a warning tone and Sasuke flashed a small grin. She chuckled and sat back, crossing her arms. She could tell her son was just teasing her. "Well, I'll admit it, he has grown up to be very handsome but that does not mean he is still not the enemy."
"Some people like to keep their enemies close mom, and Itachi being so handsome why not even closer?" Sasuke tilted his head, smirking.
"That wouldn't be a good idea with him, his dad Izuna is conniving and probably even taught him a few ways on how to lie properly. You wouldn't be able to handle him, trust me," Mikoto said, a smirk taking over her face as she looked at her son.
Sasuke raised an eyebrow, "Sounds like you and his dad were close or something?" Sasuke had an idea that they were. It was more like a rumor that they had been childhood friends. But his mom never really said anything about it to him.
Mikoto pouted slightly, "We were really close, he is…" Mikoto got a sad look on her face and she shook her head. "That's all in the past now darling. We need to move forward and we can't let them win. So no flirting with the evil ones, even if they are a handsome devil."
Sasuke groaned, "Mom I really wish you would tell me more about them other than they killed dad or whatever. I read the case file you know. No real evidence points to them having anything to do with it…other than Madara was at the scene," Sasuke sighed.
"Madara had no reason to be there, he shouldn't have been there." Mikoto said those words with such conviction.
"I suppose he wouldn't have a reason…" Sasuke got thoughtful and then he decided to throw in something that would probably have his mom in a tizzy. "What if they were having an affair and the killer caught them in the act and-"
"Really darling, that's not possible. Your father would have never cheated on me! He loved me and he loved you! What man who spent hours with his wife in the hospital and even going around joyously telling everyone about his newborn would go and then cheat?" Mikoto looked like there was no one in the world who could tell her otherwise.
"Dad really was happy that I was born?" Sasuke asked with a smile. His mom froze, and realized that she rarely even talked about Fugaku to Sasuke.
"Of course he was happy, he even named you. Said I want to give my boy a name worthy of him. One that he will have to live up to!" Mikoto sighed sadly, "I could only see you as my tiny new born and thought he was placing already so much pressure on you but he believed that you were meant for great things. Your dad was just so proud of you already."
"I wish I could have met him," Sasuke whispered. The lights were starting to dim and there were people walking on the stage where the presentation was being held.
"I wish that too, he would definitely be proud of you if he was still here. I just know it," She reached to squeeze Sasuke's hand and offer him a smile. Sasuke returned it before they had to hush down and let the presentation start.
It was interesting, for about the first five minutes but then Sasuke's mind started to wonder. His attention pulled to where his husband was sitting and wishing he could go sit next to him instead. He was sure Itachi would keep things interesting for him through this boring seminar. Better yet, wishing he could bring him over and let his mom meet him not as Uchiha Itachi but as his husband and her son in law. That would take some time to do, and after hearing a bit about his father, Sasuke was determined to find out just who killed him.
The span of two hours that the seminar took place in seemed to crawl by so slowly, Sasuke felt like his mind was numb by the time it was over. His mother laughed at him when he told her he wanted to go die in a corner somewhere, she called him silly, and dragged him towards the next seminar. Sasuke looked briefly over his shoulder to see what Itachi would be doing, but it seemed like the long haired raven was stuck talking to the seminar instructor.
He felt for his husband.
He wouldn't be able to keep listening to the instructor.
The next seminar was a little lighter on the topic, seeing as it was about how to conduct yourself through meetings and keeping your audience entertained. Sasuke had to think that they must have worked really hard to keep theirs entertaining because every time his mind started to wonder, they somehow pulled him back.
When that was over, Sasuke and his mother headed towards the show room once more. She said she had received a message from Kushina that she was currently there with her son, Naruto. Sasuke felt relief when his mother started to talk with the red headed woman. He was momentarily free from having to entertain her.
"I heard that you've been here since this started, how are you holding up I've only been here for a few hours and I'm dying of the boredom!" Naruto complained.
"I have no idea how I'm holding up, but I'm still here standing. I think," Sasuke let out a breath and Naruto laughed at that.
"Come on you two, it's not that bad," Mikoto said, turning to the two of them. "Oh Naruto, you're looking as handsome as always! Look at you, so grown up now." Mikoto praised making the blond blush and thank her.
"He's also getting married," Sasuke interjected, knowing that his mom was going on hooking him up mode.
"What, since when?" Mikoto asked, surprised.
"I got engaged to Kyuubi a few weeks back!" Naruto readily showed off his ring to Mikoto, going on and on about how Kyuubi proposed to him. How they were working out the date to be very soon too. Sasuke felt a bit envious that Naruto got to wear his ring and was able to proudly show it off. His hand briefly flew to his chest, where he could feel the bump of his own ring that hung on a necklace. He knew he could wear it, but if he did he couldn't really just tell anyone about it. And people were bound to ask what the ring meant.
"Oh wow, this ring is such a big deal, look at the details! The silver really does make it with these encrusted diamonds, aww" Mikoto appraised, she had a thing for jewelry. Sasuke knew that if the ring was not up to standard his mom would have said so coldly. She was such an odd and very cut throat type of lady.
"Yes, Kyuubi spares no expense for my Naruto, they are perfect together." Kushina said happily and proudly. Naruto blushed even more, feeling suffocated by both fawning women. "What about your little Sasuke, has he decided who he is going to marry?" Kushina gushed, turning to face said raven head.
"Sasuke marry someone, no way mom!" Naruto laughed making Sasuke shoot him a glare. Damn Dobe.
"Sadly Naruto is right, my little demon has yet to decide who he will marry," Mikoto said in dismay, placing a hand over her cheek. "Maybe you still have a chance with Sakura," His mother smiled.
"Mom!" snapped Sasuke making both women laugh at his expense. Sasuke was even more pissed that Naruto had the gall to giggle with them.
"Well anyways, congratulations Naruto," Mikoto smiled at the blond.
"Thank you Miss Sasuke's mom!" Naruto grinned.
"Ah, is that Uchiha Itachi, Oh my, oh my he's just as handsome in person as he is on television," Kushina suddenly said, her focus laser sharp on the Uchiha.
"Mom!" This time Naruto snapped, unable to believe that she was eyeing the Uchiha.
"Yes, the little devil. Sasuke and I saw him just a while ago at a seminar we attended, it looks like Izuna did a good job at raising that one," Mikoto said, crossing her arms as she turned to look at said Uchiha. Itachi was being bombarded by people trying to show him what they had invented and sell it to him. Sasuke sighed silently watching as his husband was too busy talking to other people.
It really did feel like here in public there is a line they couldn't cross. It was so annoying. Sasuke crossed his arms, scowling. He needed a plan to sort of change this or he will be driven crazy.
"Yes, he was raised just right, look at him, he's looks very charismatic. He's even on his own carrying on well." Kushina shamelessly praised.
"He's just a year older than our boys too," Mikoto said, "I can't believe he's already taken over the company,"
"I've heard that he's doing incredibly well for his age too."
"He's perfect,"
"So perfect," Kushina agreed with Mikoto and looked at Naruto with disappointment. Naruto flinched at his mother's look.
"Ah I wish I could have done the same with Sasuke, instead I get a scowling brat, look at his smile Sasuke!" Mikoto grabbed Sasuke's head, turning him to look at Itachi.
"Mom," Sasuke groaned and removed himself from his mother. As he fixed his hair, he got an idea. "Why don't I just go and ask him out instead, if that will make you stop! I bet I can prove that I can get him to go out with me."
"Really Sasuke, you're not allowed to date him," Mikoto deadpanned. She didn't like the idea of her son getting close to Itachi.
"Why would you want to Teme?" Naruto asked, confused.
"I was just thinking, if I can seduce him then I can get a confession out of him that his dad did kill mine…or if not that I could get information on his company, or at least break his heart." Sasuke shrugged, like he didn't care either way.
"Interesting," Kushina smirked, turning to look at Mikoto briefly before saying. "But he's not going to go for you Sasuke, you're not that good looking and you're kind of a brat." Kushina grinned when Sasuke gave her a mean look. She was simply teasing him, but she loved that reaction. Sasuke was always so easily riled up and once he was he did things you least expected. Kushina was banking on her favorite little raven to complicate things.
"Besides he's also been told to stay away from you, that's not going to work," Mikoto added, placing her hands over her hips.
"And you're not even in his league teme," Naruto dropped in his two cents, "You don't have a shot at all. You're just going to embarrass yourself."
"First, he doesn't know who I am yet, and really dobe! You think you are?" Sasuke huffed.
"Hey, I'm happily engaged. I don't have to be." Naruto flexed his ring at Sasuke making him glare harder.
"Watch me!" Sasuke snapped, and started to make his way over to Itachi. Mikoto reached for him, but missed grabbing him.
"Sasuke wait!" she called, but she was stopped by Kushina.
"Let him go, this could end up being funny."
"I really don't want my son getting hurt!" Mikoto said, looking over to where Sasuke was making his way over to Itachi.
"Don't worry, we're here. And Itachi still doesn't know who he is, there's a potential Sasuke is right and he will hurt Itachi instead," Kushina was definitely a lady who liked drama and making other people be miserable. Mikoto knew this through experience of being her friend for a long time, so she knew she was having fun at the expense of her son.
Naruto offered her a smile and assured her he had Sasuke's back if he needed it. Mikoto sighed, silently praying that Itachi would let her little boy down easy and not hurt his feelings. She didn't need another reason to dislike him.
All three watched as Sasuke cut in on an old man that was talking with Itachi and started to introduce himself. They couldn't hear him but they all held their breath when Itachi took his hand and shook it. The old man that had been talking to Itachi started to huff in anger about being cut off, they were sure, and Itachi smoothly handled the situation because soon the man was blushing and smiling. The man even turned to introduce himself to Sasuke and offer his business card.
"Is Sasuke getting in on a business deal?" Naruto asked when he saw that the old man seemed to be pitching his idea to Sasuke now. Sasuke seemed to be offering a few words of advice or something since the man expressed interest on what he was saying. Naruto puffed his cheeks, a bit envious. He had yet to talk to someone about a business deal like that.
"It kind of looks like it," Kushina tilted her head, thinking that maybe she would see it differently if she did.
"I think he is," Mikoto said, feeling interest in knowing what was going on.
That was when the old man bowed and shook hands with Sasuke, and then Itachi before walking away. Sasuke then turned back towards Itachi and seemed to say something that made Itachi smile at him. Itachi then responded, whatever he said made Sasuke huff and turn away from him ready to walk away.
"Ah, I think he got turned down." Naruto commented.
"Wait, wait, not so fast," Kushina murmured.
"Oh God, why Sasuke," Mikoto lamented. She really should stop her son. This was not in the rules.
Sasuke seemed to be saying something and being bratty and Itachi must have said something to make him move closer to him. Itachi pocked his forehead when Sasuke got a bit too close, and then he commented something as Sasuke pouted while rubbing his forehead. Itachi offered his arm to him and Sasuke took it, latching himself close and they started to walk away.
"Fuck, did he actually get a date!" Naruto said with shock.
"Naruto!" Kushina hissed at his cuss word.
"Let's follow them quickly!" All three rushed to make sure they didn't lose sight of them. The big guy following behind them covered Itachi and Sasuke well, and they could hardly see what was happening.
"Where is he taking him?" Naruto asked as they continued to keep pace.
"I don't know," Both women answered as they kept weaving in and out and shoving people out of the way when needed. They came to a halt when they noticed that they were going into the VIP area, which was closed off to only to invited companies and was a biasedly exclusive restaurant.
"No worries, I can get us in!" Kushina assured.
MIkoto groaned. nothing better happen to her son or she will kill both Kushina and Itachi.
