Thanks to Bristlefrost and Flame girl 123 for the reviews! :)

This wasn't actually what I first wanted/planned on writing for this prompt. But when some words won't come, others do.

ENJOY!

No 15. Science Gone Wrong (295 words)

Mr. Davenport hard warned him once, twice, so many times, not to use two abilities at the same time. It was dangerous. It put too much stress on his system. It could kill him.

He knew, but he still did it. He didn't have any choice. The world was at stake, and even more, his siblings' lives were at stake. Chase did what he had to do.

If the knowledge only wasn't enough to tell him he should stop, the pain certainly was. It started out like a sharp spark somewhere deep within, spreading throughout his body almost like electricity – leaving him breathless with black dots dancing in front of his eyes.

It wasn't like any time before. Chase had gotten headaches and hurts from his abilities before, even passed out a couple times. But he had never felt something like this – like something was ripping him apart from the inside. Still Chase pushed through. Drawing shaky breaths that seemed to do nothing to help, lifting his trembling arms a little firmer. Just a few more seconds, just until he siblings were safe.

Chase had planned on releasing it slowly. Like letting out the air after holding your breath. In reality, it became more like dropping the string of a bow. The arrow flying through the air like an uncontrolled projectile. It became a crash landing.

Somehow the abrupt stop hurt even more. The ground met his face before Chase had even realized that he was falling. He was vaguely aware that he was still breathing too harshly. The air rushing in and out with rough rapid bursts. Though there was little he could do as the blackness grew across his vision.

Chase knew he'd made a mistake. He did it to save his siblings.
