Joker hadn't had any luck finding the meddling Doc. He had people staked out at her place, some checking local hostels and flop houses. No luck. With her face now plastered on the news, he doubted she would be just out and about strolling through the city. He had spent his time split between looking for her, planning Bruce Wayne's downfall and quality time with Tessa.

He had been worried at first, that the kid being here would be a nuisance. He just slept a lot, waking up to eat, which was more enjoyable to watch than Joker had imagined it would be. Tessa would have the baby on one tit eating, and the other would leak. She'd taken to baring both breasts while she fed to keep her shirt clean, and Joker enjoyed it immensely.

He'd gotten nowhere with crippling Bruce Wayne. He wouldn't give up though. He knew once the Harley situation was taken care of, he would be able to devote more time to the problem. Ugh, it all came back to that nut job doc. He should have killed her when he had the chance.

He was deep in his own thoughts when he heard a knock on the door to his office. He got up and opened it.

"Boss, we have a situation."

His ears perked up. "What kind of situation?"

The man looked nervous. "Buzz called, said he had a dealer from the narrows who said he was given a message for you."

Joker was surprised, a message for him? "Oh, well tell Buzz to bring him by."

The man bolted from the doorway. Joker was practically vibrating with anticipation. Someone sent him a message? Who would have the balls to send him a message? It struck him like a bolt of lightening. He was almost positive it would be a message from the doc.

When the knock sounded again, Joker opened the door. Buzz was standing there, holding up a man who looked pale. The blueish tinge to his mouth meant blood loss or hypothermia. It was cold out, but Joker would put his bet on blood loss.

He looked over at Buzz, "What's the message?"

"He is."

Joker looked back at the guy, then to Buzz. "Bring him in."

Buzz half pushed, half carried the man into the office. Joker closed the door and moved to the side to watch the barely conscious man.

"Well? I don't have all day."

The man groaned, trying to lift his shirt. Joker saw the rivets of blood that had run down his skin. The light colored jeans were saturated with the drying blood. He looked to Buzz. "Lay him on the desk." Joker was enjoying this, the excitement of waiting to see this message.

Buzz pushed the man back, in his weakened state, he fell, hard, the back of his skull making contact with the hard wooden surface of the desk.

Joker pulled the knife from his pocket and parted the front of his blood covered shirt like butter. He parted the fabric and his eyebrow shot up. It was definitely his doc and she had mutilated this guy. He wondered what blade she had used? With the torn edges he knew it hadn't been very sharp. It might as well have been a butter knife.

Joker grabbed the man's jacket and pulled it from his body. The man groaned, but didn't move. Joker looked around, only finding a half drunk can of soda, he poured it over the man's chest then wiped the dry blood from him.

Just like he thought, the doc had written him a love note. He'd be flattered if she hadn't also tried to kill his girl. He looked at the man's chest and pulled out his phone, first he took a picture of the mess, then turned to Buzz.

"Get rid of him."

Buzz opened the door and then pulled the man from the desk, practically dragging him out of Joker's office.

Joker sat in his chair and thought about what to do next. He called Tessa.

"Hello?"

"You sound tired." he told her.

"Yea, the monster is up every few hours."

He chuckled. "Are you too tired to come visit?"

"Why?"

He put her on speaker phone and tapped on the screen sending her a cropped version of his message from Harley. Couldn't have her calling the number and ruining the surprise.

"I will be there soon."

He smiled. "Drive safe."

That's why he knew they were meant to be together. She was softer, gentler than him in most things, but when it came down to it, she would be just as ruthless as he could be. He'd seen it in her from the beginning. He couldn't wait to see the hell she would bring down on the good ole doc.

Tessa was running on pure adrenaline. The picture had enraged her. Harley had send Joker a fucking love note? She had to admit, Harley had guts, Tessa would concede that fact. She clicked the car seat into place and moved to drive to Joker's office. She didn't like the warehouse much but, she could handle it. It had only been a week , or was it two? Tessa wasn't keeping track of time well, between small naps and crying baby, she wasn't feeling up to do much more.

The drive across Gotham was uneventful, thankfully the baby stayed asleep. She pulled up to the familiar warehouse and got out. She unlatched the car seat from the car and headed straight to Joker's office, ignoring the looks she got from the men. She opened the door and let herself inside the dark office. He was sitting at his desk.

"Oh, aren't you a sight for sore eyes?"

Tessa fought the urge to roll her eyes at him, "What is the plan?"

Joker laughed. "I am going to call her, you will be silent. I might have to say some mean things, so you have to be a good girl and let me get the info we need."

The baby fussed in the car seat. Tessa moved to get him out of the seat, it was about time for him to eat anyway. Joker got up, giving her the chair and watched as she started the long process. Joker didn't take his eyes off of her as she fed their baby. Tessa was amused, she had never seen him so attentive to anything. The first few times she was worried, but she realized he was just watching, his mind going through, who knew how many different thoughts, but he wasn't fidgeting like he normally did.

Once she had finished, she held the baby to burp him. Joker was waiting patiently, now pacing in front of the desk. Tessa got the small bundle to burp and then decided to do a quick diaper change as well. It was easy, and she placed her sleeping baby back into the car seat.

Joker was looking at her with a strange look on his face. "What?" she asked when she'd had enough.

"We may need to have him out of the room, just in case he wakes up and starts to cry."

That gave her a sour feeling, She didn't want him away from her, but she really wanted this to work.

"Where should we put him?"

Joker tilted his head to the side, "Do you trust my judgment?"

She snorted, "Do I have a choice?"

"With me? Always."

She took a deep breath. "You know I do." she admitted begrudgingly.

"Oh, Goodie."

She couldn't help but laugh.

Joker took their baby to another room, talking to a man in a low serious tone. The man was inside the room with her baby and she felt the tightness in her gut. She pushed down the need to run to him and moved away from the door.

Joker made it back in and closed the door, "It's show time." he dialed the number.

Tessa watched him put his phone on speaker and waited for the bitch to answer.
