Oh and to the reviewer who said I spoke of Ana working with Jack before, I apologize. I never meant to say it. Just go ahead and forget it. Bare with me people LOL.

"He what?!"
Christian roared in his living room as Ana explained what had transpired while he was with his father and brother. She knew that she would have to explain it as soon as he came home. Ana made sure to speak in code, letting him know via text before he came in that Teddy was in the living room again. Apparently, he couldn't hold in his anger anymore, and he stood before shouting. Apparently, Teddy wasn't moved by his father's quick anger, because he only gleaned up from his legos for a moment before he looked back down at his colorful blocks. Ana didn't know why it seemed funny to her, but it was.
Like father, like son.
"He had no idea what you were?" he asked Ana hands on her hips. She shook her head.
"My scent is undetectable. The only reason you can smell it now, as well as everyone in the house because I allow it."
Christian grunted before Ana continued speaking.
"He kept looking behind me. Probably thought since I was human, I wouldn't notice, but I did. He was definitely looking for someone," she said tilting her head in the direction of Teddy. Christian froze before turning to look at his son who was happily playing with his toys. Christian ran his hands over his face before groaning.
"Ugh, Ana. I just-"
"I know."
"My father and brother want him handled. The situation has gone on long enough and he needs to be dealt with before he gets any more ideas. I will be meeting with my pack this Thursday about it." At that statement, both Ana and Christian's attention was turned to Teddy who stood and glowered at Christian.
"Yes, son?" He asked sensing danger.
"Daddy, my recital is that day. You promised you'd be there." Christian sighed before answering.
"I will try my best to be there son, but-"
"No! You said that the last time. And then you didn't come! You told me you'd be there!" Ana's heart broke at the tears in the little boy's eyes, but more importantly, she could see how much it was hurting Christian.
"Theodore-" Christian started, only to be interrupted by his son.
"I hate you!" he shouted before running out of the room and up the stairs. Christian looked helpless and Ana came over to rub his back.
"Christian, you need to prioritize." She stated. Christian's eyes widened in disbelief. He didn't think Ana would say that. As if she could read his thoughts she snorted.
"What? You thought just because all of this was going on I would agree with you. You've got another thing coming if you thought I would just be some willing submissive once you and I had sex."
Ana heard a snort near the entrance of the room, and Christian glared when he saw Taylor turn back to face the door.
"Ana. You can clearly see that I have important things to handle. Jack is a major one."
"I know that! But you can't make the meeting with the pack in the afternoon His recital is at seven p.m. He'll go on third. That should buy you at least forty minutes. The first child is singing almost an entire act of pollyanna, and the second child is going to paint someone from the audience," Ana said in a matter of fact tone. Christian looked at her as if she'd grown two heads.
"What kind of school is my son attending again?" he asked dryly. Ana rolled her eyes.
"They don't like to be referred to as a school, remember? It is a place where young children learn alternative ways that will stimulate their brains and artistic expressions."
"An art school," he said with amusement in his voice. Ana rolled her eyes before crossing her arms.
"Be that as it may, you have to come. Christian, I love that child, and I know he feels the same about me, but I can only do so much. He wants his dad there to see him. He's been practicing and being good, all in the hope that you will come. If you don't-"
"It'll destroy what little we started to build on."
"Right."
Christian placed his hands on his waist before nodding.
"Alright. I'll see what I can do. But I'm only telling you this. Since he already thinks I won't be there." Ana nodded before reaching up and running a hand through his wild hair. Christian used her distraction with his hair to pull her against his body. When he calmed down a bit more and his eyes dropped a bit, Ana placed her hands on his shoulders and began massaging them. She could feel his entire upper body was drawn tight.
"What are you going to do when you get Jack?" She asked. His eyes blinked open slowly at that before they turned a deep red.
"I am going to kill him. I am going to rip his throat out before I pull out his intestines. You can threaten a lot of things Ana, but never my family. He has threatened the legitimacy of my status as Alpha, and he has threatened to kill my son. I will not have any more of this," he said with finality in his voice. Ana gave a shiver at the coldness in his voice.
"I understand," she said quietly. Christian glanced at her before leaning over and kissing her lips softly. She smiled when he squeezed her tighter around her waist.
"I was wondering if-" Suddenly a throat was being cleared which caused Christian to sigh.
"Yes, Taylor?" He said instantly recognizing his chief of security.
"I do apologize sir, but your father called saying that he needed to speak with you concerning Jack. He said he had some of his men who came to him in town wanting to talk. Apparently, they want out, and they are willing to talk in order to switch over to your pack."
Christian frowned.
"Did my father say he trusted them?"
Taylor snorted.
"He let it be heard in his voice. I told him I would bring you to the cabin as soon as possible."
"Thank you, Taylor. Oh, and Taylor? Where is my mother?"
"She is currently with Elliott. He had stopped by after work and decided to stay until you met with Carrick."
Christian was relieved at that. He didn't want his mother unprotected. Although she had her own security, he was more comfortable with his own.
"Give me ten minutes."
"Very good. I will wait in front."
When Taylor left, Christian glanced at Ana.
"Will you be okay? Gail is still here. So it Sawyer."
Ana wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders.
"Yes. We will be fine. I have to go and talk to Teddy anyway. You just do everything in your power to be at his recital on Thursday."
"I will."
As soon as Christian left, Ana ran upstairs to Teddy's room. When she was in the hallway she saw Sawyer guarding his door.
"How's it going in there?" Ana asked Sawyer. The man sighed.
"He's been crying. It kills me every time the kid cries." Ana nodded sympathetically before knocking once on the door and opening it. She stuck her head inside, and she felt her own heartbreak at the sobbing boy on the bed. Ana rushed over and sat beside him. She smoothed his hair back and when he saw it was Ana he leaped into her arms.
"Ana, why won't daddy come? Is it because he doesn't want to?" he asked sniffling. He looked up at her with his big eyes and Ana kissing his cheek.
"No, baby. You know me, right? You know I would never lie to you," Ana said to the boy. She was glad to see him nod easily.
"Good. Then you know what I tell you will always be the truth. Right?"
"Right," he said.
"Okay. So please believe me when I say that your daddy loves you very much. And he wants to come, but he has business that concerns our protection."
"What's that?" Teddy asked. Ana rocked him a bit in her arms.
"Your dad has to keep up safe. You know how you feel safe at home?" she asked. He nodded.
"Well, your daddy does that for us and for other people. They rely on him. And sometimes there are other boys and girls that need that protection that only your dad can give."
"So he has to help others?"
"Yes, smart boy. But don't worry. He and I had a conversation, and he feels so bad Teddy. Your dad loves you more than anything in the world."
Teddy looked down at that.
"I don't hate him, Ana."
Ana smiled.
"I know. But you must watch what you say. You don't want your dad to think what you said is true, right?"
"Right," he said before resting his head on her chest. Ana rubbed his back and spoke.
"Teddy, your dad wants you to like him. And he's trying really hard. Just like you have to try at math. But, you have to be nice to your daddy, okay?"
"Okay. Can I call him to apologize?" She smiled.
"Why of course you can," Ana said easily, pulling out her phone.
"And afterward, you and I can go downstairs and make a sundae before you have to finish your homework."
"Aw, Ana do I have to?!"
Christian had blood everywhere.
As soon as he walked into the holding room he grabbed the man closest to his father and pulled out his spine. The man couldn't utter more than a whimper before he dropped to the floor. The other three shouted and tried to leave the room, but Christian had explicitly told Taylor to not open the door from the other side. Christian smirked at the bloodied spine before tossing it on the floor.
"So he did have a spine," Christian muttered aloud. The other three men dropped to their knees and began to speak all at once.
"We come in peace!"
"We didn't mean anything bad!"
"Jack sent us to gain some intel!" The third one shouted. Christian wiped his bloodied hands on his jeans before turning to his father, who only smirked.
"Well, your tactics saved me another hour of interrogating the men," he said dryly. Christian snorted before turning back to the men.
"So, he wants information?" Christian asked turning to the blonde one. The man nodded.
"Yeah. Look, I joined when I was fourteen. I had no idea how sadistic this man is. I've tried leaving for years. He thinks I came here because of him, but I came to escape. Please, man, I'm begging you." Christian looked into the man's eyes. He couldn't have been more than nineteen years old.
"He's right," the older one says. " He's got a kid sister that he takes care of. Jack has been eyeing her, and we've been keeping him away from her. But now that Leila's gone," he said leaving the sentence open. Christian studied the two men and could see they were telling the truth. The third one, however, Christian knew was loyal to Jack.
"Just tell us-" was all the men could get out before his heart was ripped from his chest. The man dropped to the floor and Christian tossed his heart over his shoulder.
"Must you be so dramatic son," Carrick said almost fondly. Before he could answer that, his phone rang. Sighing he pulled it out, bloody hands and all, and saw that it was Ana.
"Hello?" he said thinking something was wrong.
"Hi, daddy," A familiar voice said. "I'm sorry for saying that I hated you. Because I don't. I love you. And Ana said to apologize because you love me and don't like it when I hurt your feelings." Christian turned his back on all the men in the room before clearing his throat.
"Well, I accept your apology, Theodore," Christian said softly. Teddy giggled.
"Thanks, daddy. I love you, and when you come home, can you bring me some cookies?" he asked easily. Christian couldn't help but chuckle.
"Yes."
"Okay. Bye!" he said before hanging up. IT was very hard to get back into Alpha mode after that, but he knew the damage had already been done. Turning to face the men he spoke.
"You two will have safety here. Do not return back to Jack. Taylor will go with you both to collect your belongings, and your sister," Christian pointed to the man who nodded.
"What if he asks what happened?"
Christian smirked.
"Tell him you are prisoners. That should keep him at bay for a moment."
We are getting somewhere! I love you all leave a review it makes my day!
