Here's chapter 14 everybody.
Chapter 14: The Intel.
Danny and Dani arrived at their house with alternate Danny, Dayla, alternate Dani and Dale. The four looked around at Danny and Dani's place.
"Wow, nice place you two got." Dayla said.
"Thanks. Dani and I decided to get our own place together until one of us get married someday." Danny said.
"Anyway, Danny and I should get what we came here for." Dani said.
"Right. Well, you two can look around downstairs but don't touch anything." Danny said.
"Righto." alternate Dani said with a mock salute and a smile.
Danny and Dani went upstairs and heads for a closet that is outside their bedrooms. Danny then open the closet door to see two USAF flight suits. Danny hand Dani hers before he grabbed his.
"Good thing the Air Force let us keep these flight suits the last time we did this." Dani said.
"That's because you asked Tyndall's base commander because you wanted a flight suit since we both play Ace Combat." Danny said.
"You got that right. Was a opportunity that day." Dani said with a smirk.
"Well, we better change into these flight suits." Danny said.
"Righto." Dani said.
Danny and Dani went to their respective bedrooms to change into their USAF flight suits, which both has the American flag patch and the Air Combat Command patch. Dani also temporarily tied her hair into a ponytail, as she does whenever she works out or does her martial arts training. Dani doesn't like it since it reminds her of Vlad, but at least she wants to look like a professional fighter pilot, even though she knows that if she and Danny were in the Air Force, their hair would still not meet the dress code. Danny and Dani finally got changed into their flight suits before heading downstairs where alternate Danny, Dayla, alternate Dani and Dale were waiting for them. The first thing Danny noticed is that alternate Danny is holding a Captain America vibranium shield.
"Hey, older Danny. This is a pretty cool shield you got." alternate Danny said.
"Thanks. It was a gift from Steve. You know, Captain America." Danny said.
"He gave you his shield?" Dale asked.
"It was a second Captain America vibranium shield that Steve got for me. He gave his original one to a friend and fellow Avenger of mine. Gave this one to me since I'm his number one fan since I idolized him when I was a kid, and he was my mentor." Danny replied.
"You did mention him back at Fenton Works, saying you can never see him again. So, where is he now?" Dayla asked.
"Like I said, he enjoyed the life he wanted." Danny said.
"And it's best we don't say his whereabouts." Dani said.
"I see." alternate Dani said.
"And I told you not to touch anything. Well, we do have his Team Phantom shield back at Fenton Works. And speaking of that, we better head back there." Danny said.
All Phantoms then changed into their ghost forms to head back to Fenton Works. Once they made it back, they change back into their Human forms, which everyone noticed Danny and Dani flight suits.
"Phantom Squadron?" Sam asked.
"Yep, time to bring the squadron back after 7 years." Danny replied.
"So, while we wait for the data, what's the plan?" Tucker asked.
"Well, those air force pilots won't be able to hold off those Harvester air forces. So, Dani and I will help them in the air in shooting down the Harvesters attackers as well as the Keep II. We'll head to Tyndall and fly the F-22s again. While Dani and I take on the Harvester air forces and the Keep II, you all will help the US Army and take on the Harvester ground troops. You gotta get to the substation and disconnect the drill from it." Danny said.
"We can do that. We fought the Harvesters before we can fight them again." Victoria said.
"They're different though." alternate Valerie said.
"Doesn't matter if they're different, they're still Harvesters and they will lose." Sam said.
"Besides being blue instead of green, what makes Camila's Harvesters any different?" Jacob asked.
"Yeah, we'll beat them again, just like 7 years ago." Trevor said.
"And 6 years ago." David said.
"Hertha failed many times to harvest Earth and so will Camila." Valerie said.
"Not to mention some of Hertha's faction were defeated by my dad." Jack said.
"You had to remind me. Well what Jack said, Harry beat them too." Manfred said.
"Well, anyway, status on data retrieval?" Dani asked.
"Almost done." Tucker replied.
At that moment, the monitor beeped, indicating that the recovery is done. Kayla went to check.
"All right, I got my data back. Time for you all to learn about the Keep II." Kayla said.
Kayla then activated a hologram projection that shows the Keep II.
"Wow, you got holograms? That's pretty cool." Tabitha said in awe.
"Same. Maybe I should get something like that back at home." Annaya said.
"All right, as you all know, the Keep II is Camila's aerial ship. It was a gift to her from my father. Camila has used the Keep II in many harvests in many worlds and the military forces, especially air forces, of harvested worlds failed to shoot it down due to its capabilities." Kayla explained.
"Well, Danny and I, as well as those fighter pilots will face it eventually. What do we have to deal with?" Dani asked.
"The Keep II can carry up to 80 drones at once. When these drones are launched, they are dropped from their holds at the undersides of the wings. When exiting combat, the Keep II can recover its launched drones by docking them back into the same bays they're launched from." Kayla said.
"What are the drones weapons?" Dani asked.
"They can fire ecto-beams and missiles." Kayla replied.
"Are they hard to shoot down?" Danny asked.
"Not really, but they are maneuverable and have countermeasures, so stay sharp." Kayla replied.
"Alright, what else do we have to deal with?" Dani asked.
"The Keep II is also equipped with medium-range anti-air missile launchers on the dorsal wing surfaces. It also equipped with pulse ecto-beam turrets on the ventral wing surfaces that can fire blue colored pulse ecto beams. It also has a nose mounted tactical laser beam system. It fires a purple colored laser beam, use for attacking both surface and air targets. This particular weapon does haunt me ever since then." Kayla said.
"Why?" Tabitha asked.
"Because it's my weapon. I designed it and installed on the Keep II when I use to serve alongside Camila. I always felt guilty whenever I see that weapon get fired and used during a harvest." Kayla said.
"Whoa, sorry about that." alternate Sam said.
"Maybe that guilt can end when Danny and Dani destroys that weapon." Maddie said.
"Destroying it will be tough." Kayla said.
"Why's that?" Jack asked.
"The only way to destroy the laser is to destroy it in a head on attack. Imagine how many times that was attempted before." Kayla replied.
"Well we're confident that Danny or Dani can destroy that weapon." Jazz said.
"Yeah, they overcame the odds before." Venus said.
'Just like Danny and Dayla back at home." Andrew said.
"And Dani and Dale." Sonya said.
"I do admire your confidence in Danny and Dani. Anyway, for long range engagements, they can launch a powerful missile called Ceres, which uses an airburst warhead effective against aircraft. They detonate in a blue flash of light and cause massive damage to all units caught inside the blast radius." Kayla warned.
"Can we tell where the blast radius would be on our radars?" Dani asked.
"I can help with that." Kayla replied.
"Awesome." Danny said.
"Finally, the Keep II's power plant. It has two very large thruster engines, which provides long endurance. In addition, it has 6 smaller sub-thruster engines, which provide additional thrust to keep the carrier aloft. The Keep II does have a limited self repair capacity as it can restart the destroyed main engines after a short period of time. The engines of course will be your main targets to destroy." Kayla said.
"Alright, that should be easy." Danny said.
"Word of caution though, military air forces from harvested worlds have failed to destroyed the Keep II due to it's Active Protection System." Kayla warned.
"What does that do?" Annaya asked.
"Team Phantom, have any of you seen the Keep II activate a large blue ecto-shield around it during the initial onslaught?" Kayla asked.
"Yes! We all have." Sam replied.
"It destroyed the fighter jets that got caught in the field." Valerie said.
"And missiles can't penetrated through it." Venus said.
"That's the Active Protection System. The Keep II is equipped with a Ecto-Energy Powered Dome that has a large rectenna to receive ecto-energy from the drill. The dome also doubles as a central component of its main defensive mechanism, that you all now know as the Active Protection System. This defense system first projects a large halo of energy before generating a large shield of ecto-energy to destroy incoming projectiles and aircraft that are caught in the field. It can stop attacks from all directions, even from powerful weapons like cruise missiles. However, no one has succeeded in disabling it." Kayla said.
"Alright, that should be all the information Danny and I need." Dani said.
"Brooke, is there anyway you can call your father and let him know about Phantom Squadron?" Danny asked.
"Sure, I can do that." Brooke said with a smile.
"Thanks." Danny said.
"Your Highness, can we send this intel to the military? They're gonna need it so that those pilots know what they need to do in order to shoot the Keep II down?" Dani asked.
"Of course." Kayla replied.
"Tucker?" Dani asked.
"I'll get to it." Tucker said.
"Okay, I think it's time we supply alternate Team Phantom with some of our weapons and get them prepared." Dani said.
A few hours later, some of the team were providing alternate Team Phantom with some of their weapons. Jacob was currently showing a pair of two arm-mounted ecto-machine guns to Andrew and Tabitha.
"I sure can't wait to try these out against the Harvesters. Could really use another main weapon besides the Fenton Railgun." Jacob said.
"What are they?" Andrew asked.
"I call them the Fenton Equalizer. Have you ever play Call of Duty: Mobile?" Jacob asked.
"Yeah." Andrew replied.
"You know the equalizer guns that are in the game?" Jacob asked.
"Why yes." Andrew replied.
"These Equalizers are inspired by them." Jacob said.
"Nice." Andrew said.
"I got another pair. So you'll use them, Andrew." Jacob said as he hands Andrew a pair of Fenton Equalizer ecto-guns.
"What can I use?" Tabitha asked.
"Well, you can use a common Fenton blaster. You'll get two just in case." Danny said as he handed Tabitha a pair of Fenton blasters.
"Thanks, older Danny." Tabitha said.
"Hold it. You're gonna need some protection since you don't have much experience fighting ghosts." Danny said.
Danny then look at some of the gear that Tabitha could use to protect herself. Danny then open a door at the wall to see more gear. He then noticed Steve's Team Phantom shield.
"Here. Use Steve's Team Phantom shield." Danny said.
"Who's Steve?" Tabitha asked.
"A friend of mine." Danny said.
Tabitha grabbed the shield and was already amazed by the metal.
"Wow, what's this shield made of?" Tabitha asked.
"Vibranium." Danny replied.
"Vib what?" Tabitha asked.
"Vibranium. It's the rarest metal on Earth and completely vibration absorbent." Danny said.
"Nice." Tabitha said.
"That shield will be good at protecting you." Danny said.
"Thanks" Tabitha said.
"I'll stay close to Tabitha, as well as Brooke." Jacob said.
"Same." Andrew said.
"Alright." Danny said.
Except for alternate Danny, Dayla, alternate Dani, Dale and Annaya, Team Phantom has supply alternate Team Phantom with their gear that will be use to stop the Harvesters. For the rest of the night, alternate Team Phantom had been trained by the team to get use to their weapons before getting some sleep, giving Danny and Dani, with Kayla, the chance to fly into the Ghost Zone really quick to a pay a visit to the Asgardian draugrs.
"Phantoms! A pleasure to see you two again." Siv said, welcoming Danny and Dani.
"Never expected to see you all at this time." Grabacr said.
"Glad to see you all too, but I'm afraid this isn't a social visit." Danny said.
"Another problem that you need assistance from us?" Ofnir asked.
"Definitely." Dani said.
"It will once again be a honor to fight alongside you." Halvar said.
"Always a honor." Ragnar said.
"Anyway, guys, this is Princess Kayla, heir to the Harvesters, but don't worry, she's friendly. She's Hertha's sister." Dani said.
"I didn't know Hertha had a sister." Siv said.
"Two. I'm here because the Earth is under another Harvester threat, led by Hertha and I's sister, Camila." Kayla said.
"I didn't know Hertha had more than one sibling." Grabacr said.
"Or one that is not evil." Halvar said.
"Well, if your sister think she's gonna harvest the Earth, then she has never faced us. We beat Hertha before and we can sure take Camila on." Ragnar said.
"We will definitely help you, Your Highness and you Phantoms." Siv said as she and the others bow in respect.
"Thank you." Kayla said.
"We'll have to assemble our army. It will take hours." Siv said.
"Alright, the battle will take place at Chicago." Danny said.
"Very well." Halvar said.
"Also, Dani and I will be in the air helping the fighter pilots that are already facing the Harvester air forces. You guys will help the rest of the team on the ground." Danny said.
"Also, when you find the others, things will get weird as there will be alternate versions of some of the team. I'm sure Princess Kayla will explain." Dani said.
"I'll explain to them." Kayla said.
"Thank you, Your Highness." Danny said.
"We better head back, I'm sure the Quinjet is also fueled up." Dani said.
"Good luck, Phantoms and it'll be a honor to fight alongside your team again." Grabacr said.
With that Danny, Dani and Kayla flew off as the Asgardian draugrs goes to assemble the Asgardian draugr army.
Meanwhile, back at Chicago, the air battle is still intense as pilots from both sides continue to shoot each other down before sunrise. At the substation, the Harvester ground troops has finally connect the substation to the drill.
"My Queen. Connection is complete. We can commence the harvest." a Harvester said telepathically.
At the Keep II, Camila has heard the news about the drill now connected.
"Begin the harvest. It's finally time that this planet finally gets harvested once and for all and finish the job Hertha started." Camila ordered.
"Yes, my Queen." a Harvester said telepathically.
At Lake Michigan, the drill began to light up before the Harvesters activated it. At that moment, the towering drill shot a large bright green ecto-beam towards the water and towards the bottom of the lake, drilling into the ground, thus starting the harvest. The drill activating caught the attention of the fighter pilots and those reporting the news.
Back at Fenton Works, Danny, Dani, Jazz, Sam, Jacob, Manfred, Kayla, Maddie and Jack were watching the news when they saw the drill being activated.
"They've started!" Kayla said in horror.
"We gotta move now. Dad, is the Quinjet ready?" Danny asked.
"It's fueled up and ready to go." Jack replied.
"Sam, Jacob, wake the others up." Danny said.
Sam and Jacob went to wake the rest of the team and alternate Team Phantom. Afterwards, everyone gather in the living room and saw what was happening.
"Oh my goodness! They've started the harvest!" Dayla said with horror.
"The time is now everyone. You all know the plan?" Danny asked, which everyone nodded.
"Some pointers. The Asgardian draugrs will be joining us in the battle but it's gonna take a while for them to assemble their army." Dani said.
"Brooke?" Danny asked.
"Tyndall will be expecting you. Make sure to find my brother." Brooke said.
"I'll be sure to keep a eye for Damian." Dani said.
"Your Highness, Sam, Valerie, Jacob, you four will be in charge. Alright, let's do this." Danny said.
Sam then kissed Danny on the lips for good luck.
"Good luck up there." Sam said.
"Thanks, Sam." Danny said with a smile.
Dani and Jacob also share a kiss.
"Be sure to get out alive. Good luck in the ground." Dani said.
"I won't leave you, Dani." Jacob said with a smile.
"It's time that Camila and her Harvester faction gets defeated once and for all." Kayla said.
Kayla then grabbed her sword and points it at the air. Suddenly, parts of the sword's blade protracted into smaller blades before the sword glowed with powerful ecto-energy.
"That's a cool sword." alternate Danny said.
"She was right. It is a energy weapon." Dani said.
Before everyone was about to leave, another news report caught Danny and Dani's attention.
"We have some breaking news taking place in London, England where New York's own Spider-Man is battling against some unknown creature at the Tower Bridge." the news anchor reported.
"Hey, Peter's in trouble. You think we should send some of the team to help?" Dani asked.
"We don't have time and we need everybody to fight against the Harvesters. We don't know what that thing is and I have confidence that Peter can beat that... thing." Danny said.
"Good luck, Peter." Dani said.
"We gotta move." Danny said.
With that, Danny and Dani heads for the Quinjet and heads for Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida while the rest heads for the Fenton Jet before taking off for Chicago.
And that's the end of this chapter. As said before, the Keep II is inspired by the Arsenal Bird from Ace Combat 7, even having the same APS name. Well there's the reference to Spider-Man: Far From Home of Spider-Man's final battle against Mysterio. So, this story takes place around the same time as the movie. There os also another reference to one of my one shots regarding the Captain America shield that Danny has. Anyway, what will happen during the start of the ground battle?
