Chapter 15
Lani's POV
At the news of someone using our track, the team and I immediately went to our rides, and drove out towards it. We went quietly, shutting off our headlights before arriving. There was only a pair of headlights and small flashes of red that were visible as the biker sped around the track. "Who are they?" Agura asked through the comm, and I shrugged. "I don't know." I replied. "Hey…" Zoom started, before stopping as the biker came around again.
"What?" Sherman asked, and Zoom continued. "I saw that bike at Zeke's about half an hour ago." he said, and I tried to get a good look at the biker again as they sped right past. "Alright… let's try and figure out who this person is." I said, and we all drove silently around the track to different positions.
?'s POV
After leaving that diner for a time, I found this totally awesome track. Nobody was around, so why not try it out? I didn't see why I couldn't. It's abandoned. I drove to the starting line, and stopped for a moment. Looking around one last time, I revved my engine, and took off. The track was smooth, with just the right amount of straightaways and tight turns. I liked it.
I did a few more laps, before glancing off to the side. I thought I saw the flash of a green ATV, and frowned, before smirking. Maybe I'll get some competition! Going around again, I could barely see some spike traps laide out all in a row about 3 of them back. Challenges. I loved challenges. I sped up, before kicking my foot down harshly at the last moment, and spinning above all the spikes.
Years of practice made it so my foot barely hurt, but my landing was a little shaky. "Darn it." I muttered, before taking a sharp left. This time, there were 2 loud booms, like music being blasted out through a speaker, and purple waves shot towards me. Reacting quickly, I turned my bike so my leg was barely brushing the ground, one of the purple waves just barely singing my helmet, before straightening out again.
Thankfully, Typhoon was holding up well, otherwise this was probably something I couldn't do. Ahead of me, a brown car and a cyan car were coming towards me. I took a deep breath, hoping that I had built it currently, before pushing the white button on the inside of my thumb.
My bike immediately shifted, and everything seemed fine as I jumped over the 2 cars. I landed cleanly on the other side, and shifted Typhoon back to the normal, motorcycle form. That was a success on my first try. And I silently celebrated. On my right, another biker came up, and I recognized the blue wheeled, and yellow bodied bike from back at the diner. He glanced at me, before accelerating, and I smirked. They want a race? They've got one.
I sped up after them so we were back to being side by side. Glancing at them, they glanced back at me, and when I looked ahead there was a blue tank blocking the way. "Not my plan, but…" I muttered, before taking a deep breath, and pushing my engine as fast as it would go. I thought I heard a yell from inside, but at the last second, I braked my front wheel. This caused me to do a front flip up and over the tank.
It was a new thing that I had been practicing, with no success so far, but it kinda seemed necessary here, so… I landed on the other side with my back wheel still in the air, and turned around. Now I was driving backwards. Not exactly the best thing to do with whatever could be behind me. 5 cars were coming towards me, and I took a sharp right out to the flats, and took off.
Glancing behind me once, I saw that the only vehicle that was still following me was the cyan car. When I looked back ahead of me, I saw where the others had gone. They were in a half circle, and it was too late for me to try and turn away, and I slowed to a stop in the middle of the circle. Great. That was stupid.
"Alright, take off your helmet." The biker guy said, and I looked at all the vehicles, ignoring them for now. Why the heck were these guys out here when they had such high tech cars? "Hey! Take off your helmet!" A guy said with spiked up hair from the blue tank. I looked up at him, and he squeaked, disappearing. Sighing, I reached up, and undid the clasp on my helmet.
From what I could see, there was only one girl in this whole group of guys, and they all looked to be just teenagers. Did they own the track? And why would a bunch of people from obvious nationalities all come together? For what, driving high tech cars in an abandoned town? When I finished with the strap, I held the sides of it, and took off my helmet, letting my long, black hair fall.
Agura's POV
We all watched as the mysterious biker looked from each of us as they undid the strap on their helmet. Whoever this person was with the motorcycle that could somehow become a mech, and knew all of these fancy moves, was the one that was using our track. Why though, I didn't understand. Why use a track when you have miles of empty space out on the flats? Maybe because it gave them a distinct path to follow?
I focused back on the person as they took off their helmet, and long, curly black hair fell out from the restraint. She shook her head, and a red stripe on the top right part of her head appeared. Her skin was tan, and her eyes were a cold hazel as she frowned at each of us. Where Spinner had been in particular though.
"Happy?" She asked sarcastically, setting her helmet down on the handlebars in front of her, leaning on it. I looked towards Lani, who looked right back at me with surprised eyes.
This mysterious biker is my own character, so is another person owned by me.
