Ruby

"Come on! It was enough we were inside of a tree, but now we're inside of a book too!"

"I mean it could be worse."

"How!?"

"It could be raining."

It then started raining.

"COME ON!

She was this close to burning this book from the inside out.

She then paused and took a deep breath. She then assessed their current situation.

"Ruby could you make it stop raining or at least give us an umbrella?"

"Oh, um I don't quite get..."

A bright red umbrella popped into Ruby 's hand.

"Ok now make money fall from the sky."

When nothing happened Yang just crossed her arms.

"At least have your mentor pop up."

"Hello girls."

They turned and their jaws dropped.

Weiss stepped toward the white gold door and opened it.

She instantly blushed.

There she was kneeling before Yang and she was sucking her off.

Then before she knew it she could feel everything that was going on.

She felt it as she saw herself suck down everything that was Yang and she was giving one hell of a show.

When Yang got close she felt it as Yang held her by her hair to hold her in place as she flooded her throat with cum.

It was intense as it was everything she had imagined, but so much better.

She experienced sex with Yang in every position that she could have dreamed of and it was amazing in every single way.

She had Yang cum in her in every orifice she had and then it was her turn.

Weiss was sweating and felt tingly all over as she was looking in and experiencing it all, but it didn't stop there.

After the sex-o-thon she saw their wedding day. How breathtaking it was to see Yang in a white tux as she walked towards her.

How every word was meant as they exchanged vows.

Then it shifted to her being mated to Yang.

She was blissed out on how incredible it was just to be fucked by Yang let alone to be mated.

The key difference here was that she felt it as Yang melded her soul to her own and then as the binding had settled she knew a new life was in place as well.

Feeling that was... for her there were just no words as to how magical it all felt.

The image and scene shifted to her feeling their first born kicking inside of her.

Yang had given her everything she could have ever asked for.

Feeling that inside of her was incredible and terrifying all at once.

She then held their baby in her arms and looked into Yang's eyes as they sparkled with pure love and adoration.

The warmth just from holding their child alone was something she didn't think she would ever get used to.

Then their baby opened his eyes and her heart stopped as she saw perfect lavender eyes underneath a tuft of white hair.

She took some steps back and then fell on her ass. The golden white door was shut again. Her child's face was burned into her brain.

The mating bond with Yang immediately vanished as soon as the door shut.

A cold chill over came her from the inside and worked its way out as she settled to her normal temperature.

She was shedding tears profusely. She wanted nothing more to wrench open the door and claim her place holding her child and basking in the warmth that was Yang's love.

"This is what it could be if I chose to be with Yang?"

"Yes."

She looked to her "grandfather" and all at once she was mortified.

"Please don't be embarrassed I didn't watch."

She then let out a deep breath and tried to calm her racing heart.

She dried her eyes and lifted herself off of the ground.

Her body tingled from the experience as a whole. Her limbs felt heavy from everything she had just felt.

The warmth and the love she knew Yang to posses could all be hers for the taking.

She had felt it and it was nothing short of incredible.

She even remembered Yang's own words outside of all this:

"For what it's worth, I wouldn't have minded had it been you."

She soaked it all in.

The dragon could be hers.

Then something came and stole the warmth she had been basking in like a thief in the night.

One name disrupted her whole line of thought:

Ruby.

It was then she took a good look at the crimson door.

She wasn't aloud to see what was behind it but she knew that she was the other choice in all of this.

Yang tugged at her heartstrings when it came to what could be.

She would never forget the face of their child that could've been.

Just Ruby's name alone broke through and shattered everything that Yang could be.

In her heart of hearts she knew her choice.

"Was this all just to hurt me?!"

"What makes you say that?"

"As much as I love Yang and it really meant everything to see it... ultimately it will always hurt in knowing what I had to give up."

"Ah, but in comparison to what you are choosing who is to say you are giving up anything of true value?"

"Giving up that look of love and adoration from Yang, an undeniable happiness of the life of our child, and then there was the life altering sex with Yang..."

She was blushing at the admission.

"Yes. As life altering and warm as it all felt and as precious as his face was; you still choose Ruby."

"Its bittersweet."

"The love you have for Ruby far outshines that of her sister and anything you have seen will only be a mere shadow in comparison. I know that even though the love you felt for the dragon was warm, the love you hold for the rose burns. At least you were given the gift of knowing."

"I..."

"The dragon will find happiness it just won't be with you."

"What was his name?"

"You tell me."

"Yin."

"Cheesy, but fitting."

She looked over at the person masquerading as her grandfather taking in his presence.

"Who are you really?"

"Like I said before I'm the first of our kind. My name is Janus. Keeper of the choices."

"I would say I was pleased to meet you, but this whole ordeal has been a lot."

"I understand. The next step will be to train you a bit in the way we know."

"How do you mean?"

"As changelings we adapt. That also means to fighting styles."

He then went through a series of shifting to different people to mimic their fighting styles.

What seemed ages was no time at all as she tapped into her new found skillset.

"I noticed you never once mimicked Yang."

"The dragon is beyond any mere imitation for being what she is. Anything we would try would pale in comparison for we are not dragons and what we adapt to for them is just to be able to mate with the beasts."

She nodded in understanding.

"What happens now?"

"Now you state your choice and things will resume until your next choice comes to pass."

"Then I choose the crimson door."

Not without taking one last look at the other door.

He nodded to her.

"Also I lied. I did watch."

"What!?"

"Just kidding."

The last she heard of him was his chuckle and then she had to think quick as Pyrrha was going to land a well aimed attack on her.

Weiss quickly blocked and then adapted to the fight as best as she could.

Pyrrha sensed something was off and stopped altogether.

"Is everything ok, Weiss?"

"No, but it will be. Where are Yang and Ruby?"

Standing there in her white cloak was none other than Summer Rose.

Yang couldn't believe her eyes. In fact she didn't trust them for a moment because as she looked she saw something was off and so she closed them.

Ruby on the other hand didn't spare a second before she moved to tackle Summer in a hug she had longed to give her for years.

"Mom!"

"Ruby! That is not entirely our mom!"

"Wait what?!"

"Clever dragon."

Ruby looked back and then saw that she had gone through what she thought was her mom.

"I don't understand."

"I was testing your senses my darling petal. I am not altogether here though. This is where a part of my subconscious goes to bask in peace before a new round of torture begins."

"You are alive then?!"

"Yes."

"We won't find you until its time to though."

"Right again."

"I still don't understand."

Shedding tears in confusion.

"Think of this as a piece of me being able to be here to train you in the way of our kind."

Yang knew what Ruby needed though.

She stepped forth and came over to stand before Summer.

"Take my hand."

"Yang I won't be able to-"

"Just trust me."

Summer sighed and then as soon as she touched Yang she was solid.

She was glowing white gold.

Yang had concentrated her aura into solidifying Summer.

"I can't hold this forever Ruby."

Summer was shocked.

Then she was nearly pummeled by Ruby who had understood her sister's warning.

She hugged her daughter to her.

"You've both grown so much. I'm so sorry I missed it."

Yang let them have their moment.

Ruby never wanted to let go.

"I need to teach you what I can baby."

She sighed and then let go. She dried her tears on the back of her sleeves and then took a step back.

Summer looked to Yang and then squeezed her into a hug as well.

Yang knew she couldn't hold on much longer whatever was keeping Summer torn from fully being here was breaking her hold on her.

"Let go."

She did and Summer's image flickered for a moment, but it remained still.

"My darling rose bud, you are fae. This means we have a lot to cover and little time to cover it all."

"Teach me what you can."

She looked at her daughters and couldn't help but feel so proud of them both.

"The first thing you need to know is that this space is called a faery pocket."

"So technically we're in a a pocket book? Anybody?"

Both Roses gave her unimpressed looks.

"Harsh crowd. It probably doesn't work cause the book is the size of a tree stump."

Summer smiled at her. Ruby just shook her head.

"Since the beginning the fae have always been able to hide in the best or worst of times. The reason being would be because of Faery pockets."

"Couldn't someone just burn the tree and then everything including the space would be gone?"

"No, for you see Faery pockets interlock between each other and you are now in the realm of Fae."

"So that means if someone were to burn the tree and its contents the only thing it would affect would be that we no longer have that particular exit."

"Perceptive, I never understood why you liked playing the dumb blonde card."

"Gives them a chance to underestimate me."

"Hmmm."

"Anyway?"

"Right. Within the realm of Fae anyone of Fae blood has complete control of their surroundings."

"Hence the rain?"

Yang gave Ruby a dubious look.

"Heh heh oops."

Yang rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"Yes, though young fae tend to have the weather change to their mood."

"Ruby felt like she needed a shower?"

"Hey!"

Ruby stuck her tongue out at Yang.

Yang gave her a smirk.

"More like she wanted something to be washed away."

That got Yang's attention. She then gave Ruby a scrutinizing look.

"Ruby?"

"I wanted some sense of clarity."

"Something to wash away the ache?"

"How did you know?"

"I've been there."

"Really?"

"When I first wanted to mate with Raven."

She looked to Yang.

"You look so much like her, but that is another story for another time."

She paused for a moment.

"For now the most important things I must impart upon you is about our power and how we mate initially. When it comes to our power we are more in tune with the elements we feel in touch with. For you it would be the wind."

"Explains her speed."

Summer nodded.

"Now as for how we connect with our chosen. When we feel we have found the one we combine our emblems.

This is done by holding hands together and face up and watching as both combine in a way that will appeal to all involved.

If the connection is meant then the combined emblem then will be found on the non-fae. This signifies that they have been claimed."

Giving a worried look to Yang.

"Is the effect permanent?"

"Depends on the next stage of claiming as well as if they both hold on for the image to complete itself."

Ruby let out a sigh of relief.

"Ok, please continue."

"The next step for our line in particular would be that of the thorn. Please be careful with this next part for it can be tricky."

"How so?"

"If done incorrectly you could damage your soulmate's aura beyond repair."

"Oh."

"You will find you have what we call a Rose's thorn. It will only come out when you will it to. Its sole function is to complete the second step in mating."

"What would I do?"

"So you must first prick yourself with the thorn. This will absorb half of your soul alongside that of your blood. Then you must find the combined emblem and jab it deep into your mate. This would exchange and combine your souls."

"Sounds painful."

"Actually it is quite the opposite."

"Really?"

Summer nodded and smiled.

"Yes the difficult part in all of this is making sure you only inject it into the emblem site. If you touch anything else by accident you will risk injuring the both of you. Otherwise the feeling when you put it in is euphoric over all."

"Wow."

"The effect is irreversible and, much like dragons, if one of you were to die then the other would as well."

"What's the difference?"

"If the mate of a dragon dies it is not an automatic death for the dragon."

"Dragons tend to believe in death not divorce?"

"It was more to the point if the Dragon was with child or was still needed in some fashion."

Yang nodded in her agreement.

"Why don't the fae have that in common?"

"The way we mate with our chosen makes it impossible for us to survive without one another. Dragons have always been stronger in that aspect among others."

"Would this make it known to other species that the chosen would no longer be available?"

"That would be correct if not for Dragons."

Yang had been silent in thought for a moment. Listening to the ancients.

"We have the ability to reverse fae bonds if one party is unsatisfied. Though that is a rare occasion."

"That is true. Now as for our lineage: you fall in line with those of us who were blessed with silver eyes. The light that the dark can't escape when properly activated. To-"

Summer then flickered for a moment.

"I'm sorry my loves. Our time up."

Summer fell to her knees struggling to hold on.

"I...love...you."

She said with tears in her eyes.

She flickered once more and then she vanished altogether.

"MOM NO!"

"Ruby!"

Yang caught Ruby as she burst into tears at the loss of her mother yet again so soon.

Yang held her sister as she broke down into tears.

Her own heart ached for them both.

She cradled her sister close and rocked her to sooth her.

As she rocked her she hummed and leveled out her aura to keep Ruby warm to lull her baby sister to sleep.

Ruby remembered hearing Yang hum as she used to when they were kids.

This combined with feeling warm all over she slowly let her sister ease her into falling asleep.

"We will find her Ruby. This I promise you."

She sealed this promise with a kiss to her forehead and then kept careful watch as she let her dream away the heartache.
