"Bye Tuck. Your dad is picking you up today, but this Friday. It's me and you and we are going to have so much fun." Miranda said squatting down to hug him.

Tuck was her (son)shine. She loved him more than anything. After she dropped him off

Miranda went to the store to buy things for lunch. She brought a deli platter and all the condiments for it. She also picked up chips, and a new bottle of wine. Miranda took a shower and slid on a gray maxi dress, then called Ben over, while she set up everything. Miranda jerked her head up as she heard the door bell ring.

"Hey." Miranda said opening the door up. She let him inside, looking over him. He looked absolutely good. Ben was wearing light blue jeans, a white shirt and white shoes.

"I figured we could make subs, so I bought all the fixings and stuff." Miranda said blushing and she didn't even know why.

"That's perfect. Let me go wash my hands" Ben said walking to her bathroom. He stood beside Miranda as they made their subs together. "I got different kinds of chips too." Miranda added and Ben nodded his head.

"Do you have a big blanket." Ben asked and Miranda told him to look in the closet, in the hall. Ben came back and he moved her coffee table out of the middle of the floor.

"What are you doing." Miranda asked watching him spread the blanket out.

"We are eating down here together." Ben replied. Miranda smiled at this in house picnic. She brought their food down on the floor and Ben grabbed their glasses for wine. Miranda sat with her legs side ways. She listened to Ben as he talked.

"Wow. When did that happen."

"I came back home for my junior year of college and we were all riding in his father's car. Danny got thrown from the vehicle. After that, I was so hurt and angry. I didn't know what to do with my self anymore. I went back to college but it took a lot for me to get my self back together." Ben told her.

"So where is your dad and Curt.?"

"They moved here with me, when mom was dying. She was sick from cancer. She knew about it apparently my sophomore year of college. She didn't want to say anything and she kept it from me and Curt. My dad knew all along but when I moved to Seattle. No one said anything and I just came home for the summer for a couple weeks during my first year of residency and she was sick. It broke my heart and I contemplated on going back to finish my residency, but I knew that I had to for my life and future. My mom loved it out here in Seattle. I was glad they moved here. That way I was able to spend all the time I could with her. She died my 3rd year of residency" Ben said and she could see the hurt in his eyes. He adored and loved his mother so much.

Miranda put her hand on top of his and looked into his eyes. "I am so sorry Ben, your mother was an awesome woman. " "That she was."

"Tell me more about you Miranda. Tell me about college."

"college was actually a great experience. I loved learning more and taking all those biology and chemistry classes. It was different because I was married as well. I don't know why I got married so young. It was so foolish. " Miranda said looking back. "I was very timid once again. Even in my intern year of surgery. I was 4'11 and over look and the male colleagues called me girl." Miranda explained. "Tucker wasn't there with me my intern year, just in case I didn't make it. Deep down I know he really didn't want me to make it " Miranda put up imaginary quotations and scuffed.

"He didn't come until my first year of residency."

"I got pregnant my 3rd year of residency. Things was already stressful with my husband and career, trying to juggle both and honestly I was scared to juggle all three. I thought about not keeping him. Ben's eyes widen. "Yeah I know." Miranda said.

"No I was just saying that you always wanted kids, all 3."

"Yeah at 18. Of course I wanted my career, my marriage, and my children. I couldn't get pregnant. I tried with Tucker for 7 years. I knew that it would be easier to have your baby during medical school. That way by the time I became an intern, he/she would be walking and easier to care for, but I wouldn't have been able to give them more attention. But during my residency, I didn't want to slow down. My career wouldn't have been waiting for me if I did. I managed though. I just lost my husband in the process."

"I'm sorry Miranda."

"I'm not, if he wasn't able to hang in there then when we weren't right for each other." Miranda said and Ben refrained from rolling his eyes. He could have told her that at 18. He was the only person that was right for her and she should have known that.

"Your face is balled up." Miranda said as she finished her sub and took a sip of her wine.

"Oh sorry." Ben responded looking at her intently. "Ben you look so good." Miranda said looking at him, switching from eyes to eyes, then sweeping her eyes across his body.

"Thank you. You look so beautiful." "Miranda last night was wonderful." Miranda looked into his eyes with a slight smile. "But, it was inappropriate." Miranda's face fell at that.

"Inappropriate. That's not what you were saying when you were in between my legs all night." Miranda said with a quick come back. "Benjamin don't play with me I-

"Miranda let me finish, I'm saying that I was moving to fast but I couldn't help it because of the passion that we have. The moment I laid eyes on you again it ignited a flame that I can't ever put out. I want this." Ben said moving his pointer finger between them. "I want us again. I want our love. I want you. Last time we waited six months before we had sex, this only took one night. I know that it was inappropriate. You are women and should be treated as such. I want you to know that I don't see you as a sex object. I respect you and I always have, always will. "

"You have always been such a gentleman."

"You have always been that feisty shy good girl." Ben said and Miranda raised her eyebrow.

"I'm no longer shy at all and you turned me into a bad girl."

"bag girl I don't recall"

"I can show you just how naughty I can be. To rejog your memory." Miranda said pulling her dress up and then pushing him back, before sliding on top of him.

"I think I'm getting the picture. You know I have a BMV convertible. If you want to relive after prom." Ben said wiggling his eyebrows.

"You're so crazy." Miranda laughed loudly bending down to press her lips to his. Ben hungrily captured her lips in a kiss. Ben placed his hands on the bottom of her butt and Miranda smirked.

"Miranda this grown woman weight is exceptional. You were curvy as a teen but geesh woman. I love it ." Ben said sitting up kissing the top of her breast that was shown by her dress. Miranda laughed loudly again and she snapped her head to the front door as she heard the door knob turn.

"What the he- " "Tucker." Miranda yelled angry as he walked through the door.

"Oh I'm sorry." Tuck said looking at Miranda and Ben.

"Do you not get that we are separated. We have been for sometime now. You took all of your stuff and moved out. You don't live here any longer. Why would you think it's okay to just walk into my house."

"I looked for your car but I didn't see it. I just need to get my box with all my work stuff, that's in the corner of your office beside the computer desk." Tucker said with an attitude and she realized that it probably was because she was sitting on top of Ben.

"Okay go get it." Miranda said rolling her eyes, sliding off of Ben. She started to clean up.

"What the hell happened in your office." Tucker yelled and Miranda looked down at Ben with wide eyes. What I wanted to happen before you interrupted. Miranda thought inside of her head.

"Um it was an earth shattering- "Orgasm." Ben whispered causing Miranda to laughed loudly in the kitchen.

She washed the dishes as Ben stood beside her, helping her.

"Miranda. This is him." Tucker said walking out the office and Into the kitchen with the pictures of her and Ben from high school.

"Yes, this is him. " Miranda said grabbing the picture of him and her at prom from his hand.

"Tucker Jones. I want you to meet Benjamin Warren."

"Ben I want you to meet my former husband." Miranda said and she watched as they stared each other down.

"Nice to meet you." Ben said and Tucker looked from him to pictures on the counter. "Yeah. Same." Tucker replied.

"Miranda you said he was no one." Tucker said and Miranda gave him a confused look.

"What are you talking about."

" when we first got married we were laying in the bed and your mother called but when you hung up you said dam it Ben.. I asked who he was and you said no one. You said he was no one."

"Well what was I supposed to say. That he was my high school sweetheart, my first kiss, the one I lost my Virginity to." Miranda asked combing her hands through her hair.

Tucker just stared at her and then lifted up his box again to leave. "Uh Tucker Jones you are forgetting something." Miranda said stopping him in his tracks. "Your key please." Miranda said holding her hand out. Tucker sat the box down on the floor and took the key off of the ring. Handing it to her.

"Alright. I'll see you another time." Miranda said walking to the door shutting it behind him.

"Well that was weird." Miranda said looking over at Ben as he poured himself another glass of wine. She watched as Ben sipped it. "Can I have some." Miranda asked looking up at him. "Hmm." Ben said handing her glass.

"Uh uh." Miranda said shaking her head no. She took the glass from his hand and set it on the counter. Miranda then stood on her toes and pressed her lips against his. "Mmmm." Ben said against her mouth kissing her.

"Wait wait. Miranda I want to say something." Ben said and Miranda backed up.

"Wouldn't it be so much better if we talk after. " Miranda asked pulling the straps of her dress down. Letting it hit the floor.

"Miranda, I want to date you, I know that it's crazy because we just reconnected yesterday and you're at the beginning stages of a divorce-"

"Ben Warren are you asking me to be your girlfriend." Miranda asked in a teasing manner.

"Yes." Ben said scratching the back of his neck, looking her up and down. He was so cute nervous, just like all those years ago. "Yes, I'll be your girlfriend again." Miranda said walking to him and placing her arms around his neck.

"Good." Ben said placing his palms flat against her bottom, pecking her lips.

"Mommy keep going." Danielle said looking at her mother as they laid in the bed together. Laying face to face. Miranda smiled looking at her 16 year old. 28 years ago Miranda would have never saw herself here, with a 19 year old, 16 year old and a 15 year long marriage.

"You already know the story." Miranda said. Her daughter loved their story.

"Yeah but continue, what did daddy say."

"I was pregnant with you when your father proposed." Miranda continued.

She saw her daughter waiting in anticipation. Miranda did what she finally wanted to see. Miranda slid her wedding ring off her finger and she reached over for her purse. Digging for her keys. She pulled out her key ring. Miranda looked over the date November 3rd 1994 and then she showed her the engraved words on her wedding band. Ben and Miranda 2007.

"Aww this is so beautiful. I love how you met and dated and dad was so sweet. I hope I find the one I can't live with out."

"He really is and is the love of my life and honey you will. Hence is why we talk about relationships and everything you need to know." Miranda said.

"Ma, it's almost like the saying if you love some one, set them free and if they come back it was meant to be. Like you all were destined for each other."

"I believe that too, with all my heart. What are the odds that you meet across the country and then you separate and then meet again across the other side of the country." Miranda said looking at her.

"I can't believe you left dad like that." Danielle said in disbelief.

"I can't believe she did either." Ben said walking into the room. Miranda looked her husband up and down, 46 years old and he still looked as fine as the day she met him and them same butterflies filled her stomach.

"Hey baby." Miranda said as he stood by the door. He had his black uniform pants and Seattle fire department t-shirt on.

"Yes I did leave him, but I have spent years making it up to him."

"You definitely have." Ben said giving her a look that made her bite her lip.

"Okay eww I'm going to excuse myself." Danielle said getting out of the bed.

"We are going to out for dinner tonight Danny. when Tuck gets home." Ben said kissing her on her head before she walked passed him and he shut the door.

"So what were you saying about making it up to me?" Ben asked and Miranda laughed loudly as he came around her side of the bed. He got on his knees and Miranda turned over to face him. She put her hand on the side of his cheek and brought him in for a kiss.

"I love you Mandy." Ben teased and she gave him a look. "Miranda."

"Dr. Bailey."

"Chief of surgery."

"My wife." Ben said calling word after word.

"I love you too Ben."

"Benjamin."

"Fire chief."

"My husband."

"My baby daddy." Miranda said pecking his lips.

"You wanna make another one." Ben asked wiggling his eyebrows at her, before pulling her bottom lip into his mouth.
