Chapter 15:Tough decisions.
A few days after the attack.
Sub Zero was walking through the gates of the Shirai Ryu clan and saw Scorpion with his back leaning against the left side of it. He looked at Hanzo for a while before saying.
"You have my gratitude, Hanzo. For you have helped me destroy our enemies and saved the rest of the Lin Kuei. I will now be on my way to find someone."
"The Summer Maiden, correct?" Scorpion asked.
"How did you-"
"Using the relic of Choice will not change anything. If at that time, you chose to disobey your brother and fought along his side, you will just simply get yourself killed. We are no match for that giant. If we were to fight him directly, death will be our only ending." Hanzo cut him off.
"Please, I have to try. You probably have failed but I still have a chance to pull this off and succeed where you have left off." Kuai Liang stated.
"Kuai Liang, we are what's left of this world's protectors. If you leave, our enemies will take advantage of this and destroy Remnant. My time was wasted for a lost cause. I shouldn't have spent so much of my time trying to undo what's in the past. Let's not give them that satisfaction. Instead of trying to change the past, you should cherish what you have got left." Hanzo explained with a gloomy expression.
"Is there nothing else that I can do?" The assassin clenched his fist.
"As I said, you should cherish what you have left before it is too late." Scorpion stated.
In a second, the cryomancer's mother's face flashed before him. He realised that he hadn't spoken to her of the incident. She needed to know about this and he shall be there to comfort her.
"*sigh* You are right, I should stop for my clan and my own sake. I shall go to Atlas now, and meet a very important person. My mother." Sub Zero declared.
"That is the right choice. Please, do not make the same mistake that I did." The yellow ninja told him.
"This is when we part ways then. Until our path crossed." Kuai Liang said as he stuck his hand out and Scorpion shook it.
"Until then." After having said that, the two of them part ways.
Scorpion continued his search for a certain White Fang general and Sub Zero went to Atlas to talk to his mother.
Two years ago
A red clad man was running away with a boy on his back. The man was wearing a red blindfold and black clothes with red armor plates and the boy was wearing a grey T-shirt along with black pants and shoes.
"Watch out!" The boy yelled.
The man then quickly turned around and threw his katana behind him. The sword suddenly spun in circles in the air and deflected the bullets that were coming at them. Unfortunately, a stray bullet sailed through the air and went through the man's right knee, causing him to fall on his knee and dropped the boy.
Behind them, dozens of people in black plate armor were closing in. Knowing that he couldn't run anymore, the blind swordsman turned to his son and told him.
"Takeda, run. Go!"
The moment he said that, the child turned around and sprinted for his life. After his son was out of sight, the man stood up to face the group of Black Dragons.
"You shouldn't have gone against us, Kenshi. The Black Dragons will have your head. Then, we will have your son's head." A man said.
This man was shirtless, with a red beret on his head and a power generator on his left chest. He was wearing green pants along with a pair of black boots, giving him an army look.
"You will regret following me, Hsu Tao." Kenshi warned.
"We'll see about that." Hsu Tao said smugly.
Kenshi then used his telekinesis to launch the katana at the general as a beam of energy shot out of Hsu Tao's chest generator.
Takeda's location
The boy was running in the forest but suddenly hit a man wearing a black suit and a black mask with red visors that covered the upper half of his head. The man then picked the boy up by his collar with his left hand and pointed at a scar on the right side of his face.
"Your old man gave me this scar, so it's fair if I give his son one exactly like this!" The masked man threatened.
"I,... I don't have a dad!" Takeda blurted.
"Think I believe that, smartass!? You're quick, but that ain't enough. We kill little shits like you every-" The man was cut off by a burning chained kunai going straight through his neck.
Kenshi's location
"I expected better from you, Kenshi." The Black Dragons general said.
He had his left foot on Kenshi's neck and put more pressure on it. Kenshi was lying under his foot and was impaled through the chest with his own sword.
"If you had stayed and fought instead of running all night, you would've killed me and some of my men. How pathetic. All men get tired after running all night, even you." Hsu Tao taunted.
"Not,... Running*cough*Trespassing." Kenshi grinned.
The second he said that, a flaming chained kunai impaled Hsu Tao through his generator, breaking all of his left ribs.
"GET OVER HERE!"
The chains then pulled the general towards a certain hellfire ninja. Scorpion lit his right arm on fire and cocked it back before punching straight through the general's face, making a fist-sized hole in his head. Hanzo then turned to the remaining Black Dragons and warned.
"Black Dragons. You are on Shirai Ryu's territory. Leave."
"So what? The last time you beat our brothers and sisters was because they were ill-equipped. Don't expect that to happen again." A Black Dragons challenged as they pointed their guns at Scorpion.
"I will say this again. Leave."
In response, they all pointed their guns at Scorpion. The moment one of them pulled the trigger, Hanzo teleported behind them and spun clockwise to whip his burning chains at his enemies, causing them to fall on each other. He then whipped one chain at another, causing fire to burst out of the chains at the mercenaries.
Hanzo then spun clockwise over and over again. Each hit of his flaming chains either destroyed part of his enemies's armor or killed them by blunt force. The ninja then suddenly swiped left with both of his chains and they impaled a man with the kunai head. He then pulled the man at him and used the corpse as his boost.
Scorpion stepped on the body and back flipped to take the kunais out and retract them before teleporting again. This time, he appeared behind the mercenaries on his left and quick-drew his katana with his right hand and his tanto in back-grip position with his left hand while lighting the wind dust infused blades on fire, sending a wave of hellfire at the group.
The yellow ninja then jumped back to avoid a sniper round on his left as the bullet hit the mercenary to his right. He then dashed forward to dodge another bullet and swiped right with his katana to push the barrel of the gun away and sliced the woman's throat with his tanto.
Hanzo then turned his attention back at the group who were transforming their guns into a variety of melee weapons. He then charged at the group as they did the same thing to him. Scorpion sheathed his tanto and pulled out a stack of exploding shuriken and threw them at the group. The shurikens sailed through the air faster than bullets but some were able to dodge them. However, they were still caught in the explosions and were staggered. Taking advantage of this, the yellow ninja threw three smoke bombs at the group and teleported upwards.
The smoke bombs then exploded, covering the mercenaries in red mist. They were confused at first, but soon realised that the mist was wind dust and fire dust. Scorpion threw a fireball at the Black Dragons sheathed his katana before quick-drawing both his katana and his tanto (tanto still in back-grip position) while lighting them on fire. As soon as the mist caught on fire and created a hellfire tornado, every Black Dragons were spinning like crazy in the flaming hell.
Hanzo then spun opposite clockwise and used his burning blades to cut down every enemy that his blades met. The mercenaries were spinning like crazy in the burning tornado as their bodies were mutilated. The last thing Scorpion's enemies saw and felt was hell on earth. They felt the pain of their bodies melting, the pain of getting sliced into pieces and the pain of hopelessness, unable to do anything to stop themselves from disintegrating.
The tornado suddenly stopped and disappeared into thin air. After that, fried limbs, burned body parts and organs fell down from the sky. The blood that was spilled in the hellfire tornado then fell like droplets of rain slowly pouring down from the sky. The sight was beautiful, yet disturbing at the same time.
Scorpion then turned around and walked towards the dying swordsman as blood slowly soaked his body from head to toes. Once he reached the red armored man, he got down on his right knee and told the blind swordsman.
"Kenshi, help is on the way."
"I'm done for it, I'm afraid. Please, do me a favor, will you?" Kenshi asked.
"Anything, my friend." Hanzo answered.
"My son, Takeda wears a grey shirt and black pants. Please, protect him. He is in this forest." The blind swordsman said.
"I promise." The yellow ninja nodded as Kenshi's body limped away.
Scorpion stood up after that and went back to the Shirai Ryu. He remembered sending the boy to his clan before coming here and the ninja intended on keeping the promise. The boy shall be trained as a Shirai Ryu.
Shirai Ryu's village a few hours later
Hanzo sat next to Takeda's bed as the he briefed the boy of the situation. Apparently, both his mother and father had died by the hands of the Black Dragons. He has no one left. Another survivor. The boy's lost reminded Hanzo of himself the day his enemies stole everything from him. He can relate to this boy. It couldn't have been a coincidence that they met. Hanzo decided that from that day, that boy shall become a Shirai Ryu.
The next day
Takeda was running in the forest with a heart filled with anger. At that time, all he cared about was vengeance. Suddenly, the boy was picked up by his shirt collar by Hanzo.
"You intend on getting vengeance with your weak body!? You are going to get yourself killed!" Scorpion yelled.
"LET ME GO!" Takeda screamed as he struggled.
"I will give you the means to kill them." Hanzo told him.
"Y-You will?" The young boy asked.
"Yes, as a Shirai Ryus, we do not run. We fight." The ninja said.
Back to the present
Hanzo was sitting on top of a cliff, looking down upon a White Fang operation. They were holding specialized Aura piercing weapons from the Black Dragons aiming at SDC employees. Some of the hostages aren't even from SDC, they were civilians.
After a while, a red haired bull faunus showed up from the cargo. This was Adam Taurus. He was wearing a Grimm mask along with a black attire.
"Shoot them." Taurus ordered.
They then opened fire at the hostages and dropped the bodies. Seeing this, Scorpion decided to jump into action. He was going to get an explanation from his former apprentice.
