Scarlet had left me in the cave for ten minutes now, my nose was still stuffy and dry. The Ninetales said she'd come back with stuff to help with my cold, so I was perfectly happy with waiting for her. Thankfully Scarlet had come back the first time to give me leaves, so I'd have something better to lay on than the ground, before going out and getting what is essentially cold medicine. I heard claws tapping on the cave's floor.
"I'm back," I heard Scarlet's silky smooth voice echo through the cave.
"Hey Scarlet," I tried getting up to greet her. "Do not get up," she said with a stern voice. "You're sick, so don't move around too much." I laid my head on my paws, and remained still. "Raon, I'm not mad at you, I'm just concerned about your health." said the Ninetales, her voice was more friendly than stern.
"Now, just rest while I make this mixture, once it is done, I want you to drink all of it, no matter how bad it might taste to you. Okay?" I nodded.
Scarlet's POV=
I didn't even have a bowl to make the mixture in, so I had to improvise with a piece of bark. With a rock, I smashed down the various herbs I've gathered, and put the powder from it all into the bark. All that was needed for the medicine to be done was some water, which I had no clue as to what I where I'd get it, well, I know I could probably get some water from a pond, but how would I carry it?
"Raon, I want you to stay here again, if a Pokemon other than me comes in, howl, and I'll come deal with it." the Houndour nodded, and went to sleep. That was good, he'll at least be getting some rest.
I wandered around, hoping that I'd find a river instead of a pond, a fast flowing one. That way it'll be much, much safer to drink. While most pond water was safe for Pokemon to drink, I always went with river water when making medicine. At first I thought I wouldn't find even a pond, but then I heard rushing water.
Once I came to a stop, there it was, a massive river, and the water was flowing quite fast. Now all I needed was a container for the water. Humans often littered right? If so, then I could get a plastic container, clean it out, and I'll have something to help with Raon's illness. Not far from where I was standing laid a plastic bottle, for once, a trainer's laziness will actually help out.
I picked up the bottle with my telekinesis, then dipped it in the water, and I lifted it out. With a sigh, I started using my tails as rags to clean off the dirt and such off of it. It wasn't too bad for me to clean my tails out later, so I'll deal with it. On the good side, the bottle was shiny clean now. I dipped my tails in the water to clean my tails, and the dirt was quickly swept off by the water. If I fell in, then I'd probably be carried off for miles.
Now that the bottle was filled up with water, you couldn't even tell that it was covered in dirt and sand when I first found it. I started heading back to the cave I left Raon in.
Raon's POV=
I lifted my head when I heard something step into the cave.
"Do not worry, it's just me Raon," Scarlet had just walked in, and dumped whatever was on that piece of bark into a water bottle. Where'd she even get that? The Ninetales shook the bottle up to try and mix the concoction up. When she was done, it was light green, so this is what she wanted me to drink?
"Now drink this, it'll get rid of your fever," she held the bottle up to my mouth. It smelled like a candy cane, which made it seem not too bad to drink. Scarlet told me to drink all of it, even if it tasted bad, so it probably wouldn't taste good. Well, now or never. I started drinking out the bottle, the concoction tasted kinda like a mint. It wasn't pleasant even then, but it did remind me of cold medicine. Scarlet told me to drink all of it, and so I pushed through the bad taste.
Well, bad isn't what I'd describe it. I could find myself liking this stuff, since it was sorta like tea, but given how my taste buds were that of a Houndour, that could probably be the reason why it wasn't super pleasant.
Before I knew it, the bottle was empty, then Scarlet pushed an Oran Berry in front of me.
"You also need to eat, so that it will sit better in your stomach." she said, which honestly made my tail wag. From the few berries we had throughout traveling, Oran Berries were pretty nice, just sweet enough so that it wasn't overbearing with it, but also had a slight bitterness to it, which didn't ruin it. The berry was gone in a matter of seconds.
"Wait Scarlet, what about you?"
The Ninetales lied down, she had a pile of berries next to her.
"In case I couldn't find the ingredients, I was ready to wait here for a few days. But luckily I did, so we won't be here long."
I then noticed that her tails were wet. "What happened to your tails?" Scarlet pointed at the bottle I drank out of. "I had to clean dirt and sand off that thing, so my tails got a bit dirty. I cleaned my tails soon after the bottle didn't have a single spec of dirt on it."
Again, I got up. "Raon, what did I say?"
Scarlet's POV=
Raon still got up, then laid in my side. "Thank you Scarlet,"
I giggled a bit. "You don't need to thank me, I am your guardian now, so I will take care of you." the Houndour buried himself deeper into my fur.
"I love you Scarlet."
I froze up while the Houndour fell asleep. A Houndour actually said that to me, well, it wasn't exactly a Houndour. I need to remember that Raon has the mind of a 16 year old human, but the body of a young Houndour. So in a sense, it wasn't a Houndour saying that to me, it was a human. And I could live with that, many humans have told me that in the past, but it never ceased to warm my heart.
Now a pup was saying that, a pup with a human's mind, but still.
"Sleep well, Raon." I covered the Houndour with my tails, and fell asleep.
