Hey everyone. Another hiatus. But this time, I'll have to admit that this o e may last longer. And this is due to my own problems this time. And allow me to say this:
I am considering deleting my Roblox account and move on with other things I enjoy.
"But why would you do that?" you might ask. Well, I have three reasons.
1. Quality of the casual fanbase
Now, I'm not going to deteriorate everyone in here, because I know everyone is not like that. Especially when referring to more mature people like myself. But some players, not ALL players, but SOME players really don't know how to behave themselves.
After Pokémon Brick Bronze officially shut down forever, I was moving on to try other games on Roblox. During my adventures on fanfiction, I decided to play some rping games.
Loomian Legacy comes out, and yet, I still see some people not acting so maturely. Yes, I may be judging too hard because I don't know their age, and I don't WANT to know.
Let me explain. In the rping side, I see this more often when it comes to complaining. One of the most known complaints is "god-modding".
If you don't know what god-modding is, it's basically making your OC or character do the following: miss every attack, constantly heal teammates, and do "one hit KO attacks that don't miss, don't block, and don't go away".
I know Roblox's fanbase is mainly made up of kids and teenagers, but the behavior I see from that is absolutely unacceptable.
And when the rping fight goes on and the opponent tells the god-modder to stop god-modding, they start yelling like they have a right to act childish and ruin someone's day to god-mod instead of participate in an actual fight.
Now what about Loomian Legacy?
While god-modding isn't present in here compared to an rp game, I go to the Battle Colosseum, and while I do see more people just having a good time and such, there is no place I go without any sort of trolling or bullying.
Luckily, waging items and Loomians is against the rules, so I don't really see that, thankfully. But sometimes, people can go too far in this game.
And it's not even in those games! But I can sometimes see that anywhere else. Sure, any community and website has toxicity, but immature kids and teens on Roblox doing their own thing and ruining others' days for their own amusement is sickening. Absolutely sickening.
So why bother going back to a highly open game and design center when I'm just going to experience the same thing over and over again?
2. Hackers, daters, and scammers. Plus bullying!
While this isn't seen often, I know other people like this are way worse than just the casual fanbase. And allow me to explain why.
REPORTS. BARELY. WORK.
Because of this not happening, it can allow hackers to easily do their thing, and break the website and/or games with their disgusting shenanigans. I may not have experienced a hacker, but I know people have lots of reasons to complain.
You can report, but because of the stupid team not doing their jobs, the amount of hackers that can come in and just break everything.
But anyways,
The next type I wanna talk about is daters. These are more rare to see, but whenever I DO see it, I'm absolutely creeped out and tempted to leave the game and block them.
Whenever I see someone mention me as their boyfriend/girlfriend, or say "babe", or just "Wanna date?", I say no, and I'm not letting them guilt trip me just to cover their horny needs.
And then, you can see in the chat as well. So when you hear all these skeptical words of two people in-game having sex...
Roblox, please do your jobs, do it right, and get rid of these people.
The next type is scammers. This is a pretty big one, but I can see that it can still cause a problem when not even popularized.
Remember the egg scams in Brick Bronze? People would be scammed to give away their shinies and legendaries for a "Zekrom Egg", only for it to be a Drilbur when it hatches.
Luckily, Loomian Legacy has that not really happen anymore if you don't wanna face a temporary or permanent ban.
But I'm not done. No, I'm just hitting the tip of the iceberg.
Almost all the time back then (and less likely by now), one of the most popular game would be one of those "Free Robux" things.
I remember seeing this one where you have to complete a short obby, and when you reach the end, it asks you to SHARE YOUR PASSWORD.
And back then, Roblox wasn't on it. They may be now, but it's just not enough to improve my views on this.
And finally... there is bullying.
Yes, I may be putting an overstatement for this, as bullying and cyberbullying is very common on Roblox. I've seen it, I saw it, I played it, it's completely scary and ridiculous.
Believe it or not, there was a big one that affected me the most.
It was on an elemental fighting game, and I was playing it with my sister, and her friend. This one person kept attacking my sister, forcing her to respawn over and over again.
Yes, it IS a fighting game, and she only came on with me to hang out with her friend, but the fact that this person was retaliating against my sister instead of both of them dropping it made me uncomfortable.
It was until that person just "lol'd" at the fact that my sister was crying by then made me knew I had to leave. It's all over now, but this retaliating was so uncalled for. I know bullies are relentless, but this just takes the cake.
I'm tired of that abuse, and I no longer wanna be a part of it.
And this one, right here, is the biggest issue of them all.
3. Roblox itself
I was a kid when I first got into Roblox. It was back then when Roblox was actually fun. It's no longer fun. It's annoying.
Throughout the years, Roblox has just been getting worse, and worse, and worse. Lots of things have just been going downhill, and Roblox ignored every problem.
They got rid of Tix, and basically every Roblox fan, including myself, was severely pissed off. And Roblox doesn't even give a crap about what the fans think!
Rthro? I haven't heard of a single person who enjoys it. Not even I do, and I don't even have any costumes that support it.
Designing your avatar just makes Roblox a BAD experience for its players. Now that Tix is gone, we HAVE to use Robux and make our days worse.
Some people don't even have the money to afford Robux. And most of the website's fanbase are KIDS! They can't buy anything online without their parents' permissions.
And even then, you'll get bullied just for having a default bacon hair avatar. And people won't stop because they'll consider them a noob.
That statement may tie on with the bullying above, but the problem is that it was just a basic blocky avatar with a hat.
And users can no longer get that because it's basically a veteran account for people who longed in by 2010-2013.
Games on Roblox? A bunch of the same thing. There are a couple gold gems out there, but all the others are basically roleplays, simulators, real life-like games, and those corny "adopt me" games.
Worst of all, they got rid of guests. So now you HAVE to make an account on Roblox in order to play. And guests were ALSO being bullied! And Roblox does nothing! NOTHING AT ALL!
...
Have they not gotten rid of the main things back then that made Roblox good, I would've stayed on because it's a large open world tool for gamers and designers to spread their ideas in some sort of way.
But that's all I gotta share. It's clear to me that Roblox is bad enough, I am forced to leave it.
I will consider emailing Roblox one day and ask them to delete my account once and for all. I have better games to spend my time and my patience. I have a Switch, and I'd rather play games I know are fun to me.
I may reconsider staying for Loomian Legacy, but don't count on it. I'm still deciding. Especially since I made some friends on there that I may have not gotten to meet if it wasn't for Roblox.
But Roblox is rotting so much, it might eventually die. I'm not sure what the future is for it, but I don't want to go down with it.
Now... about this story.
Because of my rant, I am going to put this on a long hiatus. I don't know when or IF the hiatus is gonna end. But if it doesn't, know that this story will never be finished.
I hate to say it, but that's the cold, hard, painful truth.
I will leave off here. Feel free to talk to me more if you're unsatisfied, but this is the decision I am going to make.
Until next time, everyone. Roblox is past its prime, and it's time I step away.
Goodbye.
