Chapter 29 - End Game

*Boomer's pov*

Boomer joined the queue of the school's cafeteria waiting to be served his lunch along with the other students. Boomer was almost next to be served and he could already smell the pasta as it sat under the heat waiting to be served. He felt his stomach rumble as the smell reached his nostrils. As he was stepping closer to be next served he felt someone tugging his shoulder and turned around to see his green eyed brother. "What's good, man?" Boomer greeted and he turned his eyes back on the food.

"Come on, we need to go." Butch said as he tried to drag his brother away from the queue.

"Hold up." Boomer freed his brothers grip and held his ground, "I'm about to served next. What's the rush?" Boomer asked as he nodded to the lunch lady, "Hey, Franny, loving what you did to your hair" Boomer winked making the lunch lady blush as she patted her hair net. "Can I get just a massive container of that pasta please?" Boomer asked as he pointed at the pasta that's caught his eye as soon as he stepped in the queue.

"Quit messing around, Boomer! We need to head to the junk yard." Butch rolled his eyes in annoyance with his little brother.

"Junk yard? What for?" Boomer asked as he exchanged his money for his lunch before thanking Franny the lunch lady.

"Just for clues, see if anything links back to Berserk. Could take awhile though considering the junk yard's a shit pit." Butch stated.

"Butch, I wish I could but I got a quiz after this. I don't have time to fuck around looking for strands of red hair at a junk yard." Boomer moaned as he used his plastic fork to take a bite of his lunch.

"Come on, I bet you haven't even studied" Butch begged. Boomer rolled his eyes as he continued to eat his lunch. He almost walked away until Butch grabbed his arm, "okay, okay. You got me. Do you even care about this test?" Butch asked.

"The test no. Not at all. To pass the test in order to play next weeks game, yes" Boomer replied in all honesty.

"Okay, listen. If you come with me and I'll get Buttercup to write a sick note or something to cover you. Will you come then?" Butch pitched

"How good is she at forging Mojo's signature?" Boomer asked thinking about the offer. It would be a good advantage.

"The best, of course" Butch beamed as he swung his arm around the back of his brothers neck as they made their way towards the Powerpuff's table.

"Here's your sick notes" Buttercup said as she passed Butch and Boomer their excuse for skipping for the rest of the day with Mojo's signature on it. All he had to do was hand it in to the school office and he's scotch free. He was impressed of how well Buttercup managed to forge Mojo's writing. "Where's Blossom?" Boomer asked as he noticed she wasn't around.

"She hasn't got anymore classes after this so she's gone home to chill out basically" Bubbles replied. Boomer looked across the table and realised that was the first time Bubbles had spoken to him since the fight between them. Should he say something back to acknowledge her comment? Boomer asked himself. Before he could think to say anything Butch cut in.

"Alright, we've got the junk yard and you guys have got Fuzzy's cabin." Butch confirmed.

"Wait, I thought we had the junk yard?" Buttercup asked.

"Yeah we did but I just got my nails done. Don't wanna touch anything gross so I asked Butch for a swap" Bubbles answered. Buttercup rolled her eyes at her girly sister which made Boomer smile slightly.

When Boomer and Butch reached the junk yard the place was an absolute tip. Guess you wouldn't expect any different considering it's a junk yard. Boomer spelled the air which just about caught in his throat nearly causing him to throw up his lunch. "Butch, I can already tell you she's not here." Boomer said as he felt himself going greener than his brothers shirt.

"What makes you so sure?" Butch asked as he looked around thinking where to start.

"God himself wouldn't put up with that stench" Boomer commented as he held his breath in desperation.

"There you go whining again..." Butch huffed to himself however, it was loud enough for Boomer to hear without using his super hearing. Butch put his hand in his front pocket and brought out a packet of cigarettes. He open the packet and pulled out four cigarettes and snapped them from the end and gave two to his younger brother. "Put them up your nose. Won't block every scent but they'll help" Butch said as he adjusted one on each of his own nostrils.

Boomer placed each cigarette butt the same as he saw his brother demonstrate. He inhaled as much as he could to receive a fresh scent taking over his nostrils, "mmmm minty" he complimented in sweet relief.

*Butch's POV*

Butch rolled his eyes at his eyes in defeat knowing his younger brother had a point when he said Berserk wouldn't be here, no body could live with the rotting smell lingering around. He wanted to leave the place as much as Boomer but he didn't want to let his girlfriend down. I can't let Brick down he thought to himself. He is going to sweep every part of the junk yard until he finds something. Anything. Boomer and Butch started covering most parts of the junk yard and met in the middle and tackled the next section. They killed a couple hours and yet they were still empty handed. They met in the middle in defeat and strolled to their last target. "Bro, what entirely are we looking for here?" Boomer asked as he yawned, exhausted from the work.

"Something out of place" Butch replied. Boomer stopped at his pace and looked at his brother as if he just lost the plot. "What the fuck is that meant to be?! We're wasting time here what the hell could be out of place in a junk yard?" Boomer nagged as he placed his hands on his hips looking around aimlessly in a circle.

Butch turned the corner and found a spanking brand new Mercedes-Benz with tinted windows parked at the corner of the junk yard. He turned around and whistled at his younger brother to catch up with him. Boomer zoomed next to Butch using his super speed. "That's something out of place." Butch smirked at his younger brother.

Boomer dismissed his comment trying to use his x-ray vision to see if anyone's in the car, "looks empty. Do you reckon someone's abandoned it here?" Boomer asked.

"Let's go and find out." Said Butch as he made his way towards the drivers side of the car and open the door effortlessly. "Doors unlocked"

Boomer got in the passengers side and looked around the car, "who the hell would abandon a brand new car like this? I mean who would even have the money to - you know what forget I even said anything" Boomer answered his own question knowing Princess has played a major part of Berserk's plan.

"Look at this" Butch called as he grabbed a file from the backseat of the car. He opened the file to find pictures and some sort of investigations notes of Nelly Jackson.

"Is that Nelly?" Boomer asked as he took the file out of Butch's hands. "They're watching her every move" Boomer said as he read the notes of Nelly's school time table, times and photos of her volleyball practise, pictures of her out for dinner with her family, at the malls with friends. "I think there are people who are watching my every move, I don't feel safe anywhere not in school, not in public or in my own home. I don't even think it's safe for me to even talk to me..." Boomer remembered Nelly's words from earlier this morning. "She's telling the truth" he said in realisation rather than a statement.

"This doesn't make sense why would they be after Nelly Jackson? She told you the other night she had nothing to do with this" Butch said, taking the file off Boomer to have a glimpse himself.

"Because she has nothing to do with it. If you think about it Berserk doesn't like no for an answer" Boomer pointed out

"True" Butch nodded in agreement keeping his eyes on the file to see if he can spot anything that would be a lead.

"And if that is the case then Nelly was telling the truth when she said she had nothing to do with Berserk's plan...because Berserk is a psycho bitch" Boomer finished his sentence.

"Also true" Butch stated right after him. "Hey look at this, Booms" Butch showed Boomer a picture of Nelly, "That's the outfit she was wearing today" Boomer said as he took a closer look "It's printed with todays date on it, look at this one with yesterdays date on it" Butch pointed out.

Boomer was in disbelief. Butch took a moment to look inside of the car, "Boomer, this car isn't abandon. It's stashed here for a reason. We should go. We should take the file with us."

"Shouldn't we whip our fingerprints? No harm in being safe." Boomer called after Butch.

"Quit being paranoid Booms and ditch the car!" Butch called back before zooming to the sky leaving a green streak behind him. Boomer got out the car and wiped off his and his brothers fingerprints with the sleeve of his hoodie and followed after his brother leaving a blue streak behind him.

*Blossom's pov*

This day was well needed Blossom thought to herself as she climbed out her bubble bath and wrapped her hair and body around a towel. Blossom drained the bath watching the drainage of the water going round and round. Once Blossom dried her body off she used her favourite raspberry moisturiser and put on her favourite pink pyjamas bottoms with a white long sleeved top with a fade pink heart in the middle. She put on her pink and white slippers and made her way to the living room and flicked through the channels on the TV before curling up on the couch.

Moments later Buttercup barged through the door with Bubbles following shortly after. Bubbles closed the door and before she could speak Buttercup cut in, "well that was a complete waste of time"

"Did you guys find anything?" Blossom asked, silly to ask when she already knows the answer.

"Nope. We're hoping the boys found something in the junk yard. How was your day?" Bubbles asked as she sat next to her oldest sister on the couch.

Blossom switched off the TV before giving her youngest sister her attention, "Yeah it was good, came home at lunch and heated up some noodles. The Professor and I sat and watched some day time TV before he went into the office for a couple of experiments - by the way, he won't be home for dinner but he left out some cash for us in the kitchen to order something later."

Buttercup joined her sisters in the living room however, she was lurking at the doorway as her face showed disappointment. "Is everything alright, Butterz?" Blossom asked as she showed concern for her sister.

"I just feel like I've let you down by not finding anything." Buttercup replied as she crossed her arms.

"Forget about it there's always a tomorrow, come sit and we'll order some pizza." Bubbles invited her sister to join her as she got her phone out to order in some food.

Buttercup rolled her eyes and plopped herself on the couch next to her sisters. Seconds later there was a knock on the door and all three of the girls eyed the door, "are we expecting anybody?" Buttercup asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"I highly doubt the pizza would deliver that fast.." Bubbles stated.

Buttercup got up and told her sisters to stay put as she answered the door. She was slightly relieved to answer the door to her boyfriend and his brother, "oh thank God, we thought it would be someone else." Buttercup mumbled.

"Awww what's wrong, you scared Buttercup?" Butch teased his girlfriend as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Buttercup raised a brow in amusement before shoving him away.

"We found something." Boomer announced catching the girls attention.

Blossoms shoulders stiffen as she felt the anxiety of Berserk coming back to her. Boomer had a file in his hands and opened it up and passed it around the room for the girls to see. "We found this in a car that was ditched or stashed in the junk yard. We're not sure on who's writing up the notes or taking pictures of Nelly but someone is out to get her for not helping Berserk." Boomer stated. Blossom had a closer look at the notes, "Spencer.." she said quietly, not realising she said her name. "What makes you think it's Spencer?" Boomer asked as he cocked an eye brow. "I'm looking at her handwriting, it's definitely Spencer." Blossom stated as she shoved the files away in disgust, getting flash back of how fake her best friends acted towards her for...God knows how long.

"So she's innocent. We need to get her on our side." Bubbles stated as she had a glimpse of the files for herself.

"I don't think she wants involved. She's scared." Boomer replied. Bubbles looked at Boomer as it was the first time he had spoken to her since their fight over their siblings.

"That's fair. We should maybe keep an eye on her- just for protection for Nelly's sake." Bubbles commented looking at Boomer. Boomer curved his lips as a smile towards the blue PowerPuff in agreement. However, the smile was more of a relief that the beef between the blues are dying down. Bubbles smiled back accepting the truce.

"Where's Brick? I tried calling him when I got home from school but he's not gotten back to me yet." Blossom said as she got her phone out to call her boyfriend. "I'm pretty sure he left with Mojo this morning to sort something out." Butch replied. "Do you know what they had to sort out?" Boomer asked his brother unaware that Brick wasn't even in school today. "No idea." Butch shrugged his shoulders.

*Brick's pov*

Brick stood outside of the apartment that was plastered on HIM's wall. He felt a buzzing noise coming from his pocket to see his girlfriend was trying to reach him again. Brick pressed the ignore option and placed the phone back in his pocket. He took a deep breath before stepping into the lobby and waiting for the elevator doors to open. He could feel his rage building up inside him, God help Berserk once he sees her. He stepped into the elevator and took another deep breath before pressing 15. The doors closed and the elevator was going up. This was it, it all ends tonight.

The elevators doors opened to view a very clean modern dinning/living area of the apartment with three white walls including the wall that was attached to the elevator and in front view from the elevator Brick stood and was amazed with the view of Townsville as the fourth wall stood as a massive glass separating the apartment from the balcony. The room also had white wooden flooring and white furniture with white kitchen worktops. Brick walked out the elevator to seen Spencer standing towards the kitchen island with her laptop and her back towards Brick. "Hurry up Princess, we don't have all day." Spencer called, still hasn't looked over her shoulder to see who entered the apartment.

"Neither do I." Brick replied causing the brunette to jump.

Spencer turned in shock to see Brick standing there, watching her "How did you find us?!" She demanded.

"Don't you worry your pretty little head about that." Brick started walking towards her, "where is she?"

"You found me." He heard coming from the right side of the room to see Berserk leaning on a door frame she walked towards him slowly as she started playing with her hair, "Aren't you going to threaten me, call me a bitch or even fight me?" She teased. There's only one woman that can put up a good fight and it ain't you , sweetheart Brick thought to himself. "Opposite actually, I came here to offer an opportunity." He replied keeping his poker face. Spencer and Berserk exchanged a glance of each other before looking back at me. "Spencer, leave." Berserk demanded calmly. Spencer closed her laptop before grabbing her coat which was lying on the couch and sprinting to the elevator before it closes from when Brick entered the apartment. The elevators closed and just like that Brick was finally alone with his spiteful ex standing in front of him.

"What do I owe the pleasure?" Berserk asked as she led Brick to a medium circle sized dinning room table with six chairs tucked in. Berserk sat on one side and Brick took a seat across from her.

"I'm going to dump Blossom for you." Berserk was shocked with the response but Brick was hoping he had grabbed her attention which he was aiming to do so, "but you need to stay the fuck away from her. And I'll do the same. We can get out of here, go wherever we want and I promise I'm all yours."

There was a silence in the room for a brief moment. Berserk leaned her head back considering her offer, "what's the catch?" She asked.

Brick wanted to scream, ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME, BITCH?! He restrained himself and counted to three in his head before responding, "just leave Blossom alone and her sister along with my brothers. No one needs to get hurt." Except for Blossom but this is better than her being dead or injured for me. "Give me one hour to get my stuff and end it with Blossom and I'll meet you back here and we can finally be together." He finished as he reached across the table to hold Berserk's hand. A tear rolled down Berserk's cheek but she was smiling, not like a sly smile or evil smile but a genuine smile. She nodded as her smile beamed not believing what was happening. Brick's legs were starting to feel like jelly knowing what he was about to step into was beyond his control however, he managed to stand up and let go of Berserk's hand. "I need to go but I'll be back I promise."

*Blossom's pov*

The pink Puff was cuddled in bed reading a book to get her mind off everything that's happening. Blossom really enjoyed her day relaxing and doing nothing it really took her mind off things until her boyfriend didn't answer her last call. Blossom heard a knock on her window and she sprinted up racing to the curtain to see Brick signalling to let her in. She opened the window to let the redhead boy float through the window. "Where have you been, I've been calling you all day." Blossom started before he could even speak. Brick kissed her deeply before she could close the window, she kissed back and wrapped her arms around his neck. She pulled away and couldn't help but smile, "Brick, you're acting like I'm not gonna see you again" she giggled. Brick stayed silent but there was no emotion on his face and it scared her. "What's wrong?" She asked. No response. "Brick you're scaring me, what happened?" She tried again.

Brick tried his hardest to fight back a tear that was trying to escape his eye but the tear rolled down his cheek as he blinked. "Blossom, I got to go." He said. Blossom was confused, "go? Go where?" She asked, none of this was making sense to her.

"I made a deal with Berserk to leave you alone." Blossom was catching on to what was about to be said next, "but I need to leave you. It's the only way." He choked.

"No! No. No, this is not happening." She stepped back starting to pace around the room.

"It is. And you can't come after me." Brick continued, avoiding eye contact with his girlfriend...his ex girlfriend.

"Brick, you're not thinking straight! You can't go with her because she's threatening to kill me" Blossom begged more than stated as she walked towards and and cupped his face in her hands but that just made Blossom tear up. Blossom could see it wasn't easy for Brick to see her upset but she's not going to lose him.

"I refuse to give you up!" Blossom barked. Brick looked at her in the eye before speaking, "Bloss, please. I have to." Brick said as he slowly removed Blossom's soft hands from his face. The pink Puff noticed a duffle bag across Brick's shoulder, "where will you go?" She asked.

"Away from here. Like I said, don't come after me. This is it for us" with that Brick zoomed out the window leaving a red streak behind him.

"Nooo!" Blossom screamed after him but she did not fly after him. She watched him as the red streak disappeared in the dark skies. Blossoms eyes teared up as she curled up on the floor begging to herself, "please."
