"Hello and welcome to Day 15! With only three days left, we've moved on to the day with the most tournaments! Here, we'll be seeing so much action and fury. Now...live from the Nippon Budokan for today's first event...Karate, an event set up just for the Tokyo Olympics! Now...let's watch some martial artists battle. First battle! Natsu vs Lucario!" Magenta said.
Both got into the arena ready to fight.
"You may...begin!" The ref said as the two started striking against one another before Lucario quickly dodged Natsu's last strike before dealing a strike to the stomach before sending him out of the ring. "Match over! Winner: Lucario!"
"Well that was quick." Kagura said.
"Yeah. Natsu didn't stand a chance against him." Kokoro said.
"Now...next battle! Cobra vs David Ishihara!" Magenta said.
"Ready to rumble?" David asked.
"You know it." Cobra said.
"You may...begin!" the ref said.
Cobra's eyes twitched as he rushed at David. "I can hear every move you're making before you even make it."
"Are you sure about that?" David asked, going for a palm strike.
"Heh!" Cobra said matching him with a palm strike. "I know how you operate. I don't have to beat you down...I just gotta push you out of the ring."
"Too bad...that isn't happening." David said, grabbing Cobra's hand before doing a sweep the leg move before sweeping him out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...David Ishihara!" the ref said.
"Damn...the SOB got me." Cobra groaned. "Not bad though. Not bad at all."
"Next match! Bucciarati vs Gankoomon!" Magenta said.
"How interesting. I am aware of your strength, Bucciarati. We saw it for ourselves back in Italy." Gankoomon said.
"Indeed. However, this is not Italy so things will have to be a bit more controlled here." Bucciarati said.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out.
Gankoomon decided to rush in for a leg strike.
Bucciarati was sent sliding back but managed to stop before he could get out of the ring. Bucciarati then came fighting back with a strike to Gankoomon's chest.
"Heh. Not bad. But I'm not out yet." Gankoomon said as he went for a chest strike of his own.
"Ugh…" Bucciarati groaned before going for a palm strike.
Gankoomon smiled at this before going for a kick.
"Ha!" Bucciarati called out as he also dealt a kick to Gankoomon.
"Not good enough!" he said, striking Bucciarati and sending him out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...Gankoomon!" the ref said.
"I certainly didn't expect you to still have such strength. Death clearly hasn't dulled your skills." Gankoomon said.
"No it has not. And thank you." Bucciarati said.
"Next match! Cheetah vs Jimbei!" Magenta called out.
"So, I'm up against you first, aren't I?" Cheetah asked.
"It would appear so." Jimbei said.
"Unfortunately I'll end up facing Ishihara in the semifinals, but I'm not too worried." Cheetah said.
"Is that so?" Jimbei said.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out.
Jimbei stood there as he took a stance.
Cheetah knew she had to be cautious against someone like him, so she decided to first go for an arm strike.
"You really think...way too highly of yourself." Jimbei said before making a strike as Cheetah was forced back close to the edge.
"Whew… That was close. I'll need to be more careful." Cheetah said.
"No...you won't." Jimbei said getting close and landing a palm thrust on her as she was dazed for a moment. "I know how determined you are when it comes to Ishihara...but I am fighting for the glory of my captain and my crew!" he said landing another quick strike and forcing her out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...Jimbei!" the ref called out.
"The one time I ended up fighting a fish, he ended up biting back." Cheetah said.
"It's okay, Barbara. There are still two more events we can face him." Belladonna said.
"You're right, Belladonna." Cheetah said.
"I can't believe he beat her." Captain Cold said.
"Not to us. Jimbei is a black belt in Fishman Karate. And that and regular karate are very similar in style." Jexi said. "He's probably gonna be the toughest obstacle in this tournament."
"Next match! Glacius vs Byleth!" Magenta said.
"Unfortunately." Siege said, stepping up as Byleth's ankle was still iffy. "Byleth has informed me that her ankle is still not up to 100%, much less allow her to compete in this event. That being said… our alternate is here, and ready for battle." Siege explained.
The Alternate for Soldiers of Fortune soon walked into view… and her orange head band gave it away nearly instantly.
"O-oh my! All the way from the Galar Region, stepping in for the injured Byleth, is none other than Bea!" Magenta said in shock, the crowd roaring upon seeing her, as she walked over to Byleth.
"Ankle still bothering you, eh?" Bea asked Byleth.
"Unfortunately. I'm glad you stepped in for us." Byleth said.
"Think nothing of it. I still owe Siege for that great match he gave me back in Galar." Bea said, looking towards Siege.
At that statement, Richard resisted the urge to spit-take on his own drink, surprised at the turn of events.
"Ey, think nothing of it. Go get em." Siege said, as Bea nodded before heading to the ring.
"Is that the same Bea we saw in Galar?" Stoj asked.
"Alternate dimension, remember?" David asked.
"Though they look the same, it's likely Siege went to a different version of Galar than the one we went to when he did his own journey." Hope said.
Bea was soon in the ring, looking at Glacius with an intrigued look. "Hm. You intrigue me… I sense a good fight coming from you. Better not disappoint me!"
"Don't worry. I won't." Glacius said.
"You may...begin!" the ref said.
Bea made the first move, rather, she went for a stance that most wouldn't expect from her, as Glacius couldn't tell whether she was preparing an attack or going on defense. "Well, what are you waiting for?" Bea asked, taunting Glacius.
"I can't tell what she's planning. So...I'll take her out by taking out her leg." Glacius said to herself as she dashed in with an arm ready to strike Bea's leg.
Unfortunately, she gauged wrong. The arm went, but the leg wasn't there, as Bea jumped the attack, nailing Glacius right in her face with a nasty kick, almost sending her out of the ring, as Bea resumed her stance. "Come on! Is that it?"
"Grr...Rar!" Glacius said, pouncing on Bea before Bea swiftly dodged it and struck Glacius with a strong punch, sending her out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...Bea!" the ref said.
"Psh. Too easy. Control that ferocity and anger tendency, and you may have lasted longer." Bea said, displeased with the match despite her winning. "I guess I was wrong about you."
Glacius just growled as she walked to the stands.
"Next match! Krillin vs Ajna!" Magenta said.
"Alright, Ajna, I hope you're ready." Krillin said as the two took the stage. "It may have been a while, but I still know how to fight."
"Don't worry, the last thing I would do is underestimate my opponent." Ajna said, channeling her iddhi around her before assuming her fighting stance. "Come and get it."
"You may...begin!"
(Cue- Power of the Third Eye- Indivisible)
Krillin took a defensive stance, waiting for and observing Ajna's actions. On the other side, Ajna kept her stance as she maintained her focus on what Krillin will do next.
For a moment, the two waited at the ready before Krillin decided to make the first move, launching himself at his opponent.
"Take this." Ajna said as her hair turned white before dealing multiple palm strikes before finishing with a backspin kick as her hair reverted to its normal color.
Krillin took the attacks, getting knocked backwards before he managed to stop himself just shy of the edge. "Phew, that was close." Krillin said to himself. "(Those were some powerful attacks. I'll have to be more careful.)"
Krillin once again dashed towards Ajna, but this time, dodged out of the way of the strikes before he made a strike of his own to Ajna's right arm.
"I gotta say, you're pretty good." Krillin complimented Ajna. "You have some real power behind those attacks. To be honest, it's nice to get to fight someone like you, what with most of my friends being way stronger than me."
"Well I had a good teacher. And I kinda feel the same way too, I'm always up to facing new opponents." Ajna said.
"I'm glad that's the case. Course, we can't do this all day, so I guess we should wrap things up." Krillin replied as he went in for a palm strike to knock Ajna off balance.
Ajna then executed a perfect guard before executing a powerful counterattack that sent Krillin out of the stage.
"Match over! Winner, Ajna!" the ref said.
"We should spar again sometime." Ajna said, holding her hand out.
"That sounds like a plan. Good job out there." Krillin replied as he took Ajna's hand and got up.
"You too." Ajna smiled.
"Next match! Ranma vs Meiling!" Magenta said.
Meiling stepped into the fighting ring, before she then faced, before doing a pre-match bow towards her opponent.
"Glad to be fighting you too." Ranma said.
"You may...begin!" the ref said.
Meiling then adopted a defensive stance, as she slowly advanced towards Ramna, waiting to see what the opposing martial artist would do.
"Here we go!" Ranma said, rushing in. "Brick Break!" he said, breaking through her defensive stance before going for a kick.
The strike managed to break through Meiling's guard, although Meiling recovered quickly enough to dodge the kick, before going for a body strike in retaliation.
"Not bad. But how about this!" Ranma said, landing a punch to her gut.
Meiling endured the blow, before she then went for a powerful palm strike to the chest, enough to force some distance between the two competitors, before she then switched up her stance, going for a more offensive approach.
"Here I come!" Ranma said coming at her with a flurry of punches.
Meiling immediately stood her ground, before she then use her forearms to push the punches away from her as much as possible, as most grazed her, while some of them still hit her, although with lessened force. At the moment that the flurry ended, Meiling went for a upper-kick, kicking Ramna on the side of the head with considerable force. Ranma was stumbling for a bit before a well timed strike sent him out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner, Meiling!" the ref said.
"You've fought well, Ramna." Meiling remarked, moving over to help Ramna up. "I hope that you'll continue to improve."
"I always am." Ranma said.
"Next Match! Kendo vs Miriam." Magenta said.
Both competitors took the stage.
"After how far I got in Judo, I'm aiming to take that experience and do the same here." Kendo said. "Let's have a good match, Miriam."
"Yes." Miriam said, getting into a fighting stance a bit similar to Juri Han's.
"You may...Begin!" the ref said.
Almost instantly, Kendo dashed in and delivered a direct lob to Miriam's side with extreme force.
Miriam shrugged off the attack before double jumping into the air and delivering a downward aerial kick.
Kendo saw it coming however and sidestepped the attack as Miriam got nothing but the mat.
Miriam followed up with a Flashing Air Kick as she counted to three in french with each hit, sending her and Kendo high into the air before launching her back down with a Hatchet Heel.
Lendo landed on her feet, taking the brunt of the attack as Miriam landed as well.
"Not bad." Kendo said.
"Well when you had to fight your way through a castle against demons with Al, you always had to be prepared one step ahead." Miriam said.
"I get that. But after all the advice I was given in Judo, I can't back down now." Kendo said. "Besides… when it comes to Karate…"
Kendo dashed towards Miriam again, who struck at her but Kendo dodged behind her in an instant.
"This style of fighting is more my forte!" Kendo said, delivering another Karate chop to Miriam's side again, hitting her hard again as Miram was knocked back with incredible force.
Before Miriam had a chance to recover, Kendo followed up with incredible speed, and blasted Miriam out of the ring with a Palm Thrust to the stomach.
"Match over! Winner...Kendo!" the ref said.
Kendo did a few martial arts poses before taking a cleansing breath, relaxing herself. She then turned to Miriam.
"Sorry about that, Miriam. After what happened in Judo, I just had to give it 100% or more." Kendo explained. "I was given important pieces of advice. I didn't want them to waste."
"It's fine." Miriam said.
"Next match! Lucario vs David!" Magenta said.
"Heh. I don't think I'm going to be much of a challenge against someone like you." David said. "I was hoping to face Barbara in the semifinals, but… Eh, don't matter at this point. I'm just going to give this the best I've got now."
"You think so small." Lucario said.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out as Lucario dashed at David with a palm strike ready to hit.
"Life is full of many uncertainties. Wanting for a certain match while thinking they will happen...is foolhardy!" Lucario said landing the strike.
"Like I said...it doesn't matter." David said as he went for a leg strike.
"Rah!" Lucario roared striking back with a roundhouse kick.
"I'm not fixated on fighting her. There are other events for that. So…" David said as he went for a palm strike. "I may as well fight for her sake too...and come at this with full force."
"Gah!" Lucario said as a strike was landed on his chest.
"Here goes!" David said as he followed it up with a hard kick.
Lucario was sent sliding back before landing right out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...David!" the ref called out.
"Now I know why you wanted to face him in this event. That was a very powerful kick." Angelo said.
"Awesome job there, that guy was being a jerk." Ajna said.
"I don't know. It was more like he fully didn't understand the motivation. Now that I've been eliminated, Ishihara barely has any reason to hold back now." Cheetah said.
"You've done well. Good luck onto you." Lucario said smiling as he walked back.
"(You too. Thank you for the match.)" David said in Japanese with a bow.
"Next match! Jimbei vs Gankoomon!" Magenta said.
"Now, we shall see if your Fishman Karate really lives up to the hype." Gankoomon said.
"I will let you judge on your own behalf." Jimbei said.
"You may...begin!" the ref said.
"Here it comes." Gankoomon said as he went for a chop.
"Fishman Karate: Sharkskin Palm Thrust!" Jimbei shouted as he blocked the chop using a palm strike. "7000 brick roundhouse kick!" Jimbei said, following up with a roundhouse kick to the knight.
"Tekken Seisai!" Gankoomon called, releasing a barrage of punches.
"5000 Brick Fist!" Jimebi said landing a punch to the stomach, sending him flying back before quickly closing the gap. "I know how powerful you can be. So...I have to be quick too. Shark Brick Fist!" he said, landing another punch on Gankoomon, sending him out of the ring.
"Match over! Winner...Jimbei!" the ref said.
"Damn… Guess I overdid it a bit there." Gankoomon said.
"You have nothing to be ashamed of. You fought with all your power." Jimbei said.
"Heh. I guess you're right about that. Win or lose, it still feels great to fight so many different fighting styles." Gankoomon said.
"Indeed. Still...can't help but feel I'm being stared at." Jimbei said, looking to Bea, Ajna, Kendo and Meiling looking at them all starry eyed.
"Seems you two have got a fanclub." Tsuki teased as she and Mastemon smiled.
"It would appear so." Jimbei said.
"Next match! Ajna vs Bea!" the ref said.
Bea soon got into the ring after shaking off her starry eyes from Jimbei's performance. She knew that she could be facing him at some point in this tournament. But first, she needed to get past Ajna, which Bea knew she couldn't underestimate. Luckily, the match with Glacius was just Bea's warm up. She looked towards Ajna, bowing in respect to her opponent. "I hope you provide more of a match than Glacius did." Bea said after the bow. "Good luck to you, regardless."
"Same to you." Ajna said, getting into a fighting stance as her third eye briefly showed.
"You may… begin!" The ref said, signifying the start of the match.
Bea saw the third eye come out briefly, although she didn't show Ajna a sign that she noticed it, as she took a different stance than what she did with her match against Glacius, as it looked to be a loose and flexible stance, meant for evading attacks.
(Cue- Death Undulation- Indivisible)
Ajna channeled her iddhi before jumping high into the air and dealing multiple homing drop kicks before landing.
Much to her surprise, Bea tanked them instead of dodging them, and she didn't budge. "Is that all you've got? My turn!" Bea said as she dashed towards Ajna, going for what seemed to be a dashing kick, as Ajna went to block, but instead, Bea switched her attack last moment, slamming multiple upon multiple palm strikes into Ajna, looking like E. Honda for a moment.
"I've felt worse." Ajna said, barely a scratch on her.
"Oh ho! This might be an interesting match! Durability against durability, who wins?" Bea asked with a smirk. She then took… another interesting stance, as Ajna couldn't predict if Bea was going to go for an evade on Ajna's next attack, or a counter.
"Focus." Ajna said as she closed her eyes and did a meditative stance standing up.
"Too slow!" Bea said, taking advantage of her window and nailing Ajna with a flying kick, that almost sent her out of the ring. "In fights, you may not have time to focus! It comes down to split second decisions at times, what will your opponent do?" Bea said, taking another interesting stance that was between an offensive and defensive stance, as she would let Ajna decide what move to make here. "Well? What are you going to do about this scenario, Ajna?" Bea asked, as she waited for Ajna's decision on whether to attack or defend.
Ajna took up her stance again, and through Bea's focused demeanor and speech, in her eyes, she saw her father. It was almost like she was back in Ashwat, training with Indr, and she could barely get a hit in due to her father always countering her.
She was tempted to use her full strength, and transform into her Heruka state right then and there, but then she realized if she did that, she'd be disqualified, but then she remembered her father's words.
"A solid defense is the root of any proper combat strategy. From there your true potential blossoms." Indr said.
"Listen, I ain't trying to badger you or anything, Ajna." Bea said as she saw her tempting to go into her Heruka state, feeling the pressure from there. "I'm just trying to train you on how I was raised… more like how I raised myself, actually." Bea admitted, staying in her stance. "I was left on my own at a young age. I had to fight for everything I have now. That includes fighting off threats. And in fights like those, you can't focus most of the time, because your opponent has one thing in mind: Finishing you off, so you have to learn to think fast and quickly in those scenarios, adapting nearly every second to put your opponent at the disadvantage at every point." Bea said as she slowly closed in to Ajna, her stance still present. "That's how I lived most of my life, until things were easier for me when I became a Gym Leader, but I still train day in and day out to keep myself in top top fighting shape, and keep this mindset. So, now is the time to act! HIYA!" Bea said, going in for a dashing palm strike.
In an instant, Ajna caught Bea's palm before pushing her back with an elbow strike. Bea stumbled back very slightly, grunting but she quickly regained her posture, and smiled. "There we go! Come on!"
"Fine then. Activate flowering defense!" Ajna said.
(Music Shift- Indivisible)
Bea would shift her posture as well. Despite helping Ajna realize that she needed to be faster in actions, Bea still intended to win for Byleth, as she gave the "come on" gesture.
Ajna then slowly approached Bea as she countered an incoming attack with a palm strike when she got close.
But this is merely what Bea wanted, as Bea smirked, Ajna realizing too late what a mistake she had made.
(Music Shift - Four Fist Death Punch - Therewolf Media)
"Not bad, but not good enough!" Bea said, as she sent a heavy roundhouse kick at Ajna, as even though Ajna guarded, her guard was shattered behind the force of the kick, leaving her dazed.
"The moment you attacked, you were mine!" Bea yelled, as she roared, going for another kick.
"Try harder!" Ajna said, countering with a kick of her own.
"Tch!" Bea said as she stumbled slightly from the hit. "How did you recover so fast!?"
"Like I said, I've felt worse." Ajna said.
"Heh, so have I!" Bea said as she went for a jumping side kick.
"Not gonna happen!" Ajna said, jumping over her and dealing a midair palm strike, sending her down.
Bea landed on her feet, although staggering, from the midair palm strike, as she looked up to see another attack coming, as she dodged to the side of it. "(Damn! One moment I think I have it won, and now she's come right back! If I don't end this quick, she could swing momentum back her way before I can finish this fight!)" Bea thought as she took another stance, waiting for Ajna's next strike.
Ajna then dashed towards her before sliding across the ground before executing a midair corkscrew kick. Bea was taken off her feet at this, as she landed, as she was barely inside the ring at this point.
"(Alright, now or never, I need to execute Plans A and B at once, if she blocks Plan A, that's a cue for Plan B!)" Bea thought, as she dashed for Ajna, going for a rushing palm strike.
Ajna then went for a palm strike of her own. Bea saw that as Plan A time, as she feinted her palm strike, making Ajna whiff hers, as Bea landed a roundhouse kick, stunning Ajna, as Bea soon gave a thumbs up to Ajna. "Great match!" She said, before she delivered a powered up palm strike to Ajna, which was strong enough to send her out of the ring.
"That's the match! Winner, Bea!" the ref called out
"You're good, just as tough as my dad." Ajna said.
"Someone I would have liked to have faced. But you...let us battle again some time...outside of the arena." Bea said.
"I'd like that." Ajna said.
"Next match! Kendo vs Meiling!" Magenta said.
"I don't intend to lose just yet, not when there's Bea and Jimbei to look forward to." Kendo said. "No hard feelings, but i want this pretty badly, so I'm gonna give it my all."
"Begin!" the ref called.
Kendo and Meling then took their stances and engaged each other, matching each other's blows with quick strikes, as neither side was budging for each other.
Meiling went for a quick sweep kick to try and unbalance Kendo. Kendo jumped over it and went for a downward chop, as it struck Meiling's shoulder, causing her to flinch slightly, although she didn't move much.
Kendo landed on the ground and backflipped away before dashing right back into the action with a palm strike to Melings chest. As she took the blow, Meiling unleashed one of her own in return.
Both competitors then matched each other again with strikes that hit the other in rapid succession. It was clear to the entire audience watching, that these two were evenly matched.
"You're pretty good." Kendo told Meiling.
"Likewise." Meiling responded back with genuine respect.
"But you know only one of us can go to the semifinals." Kendo said, assuming a stance..
"I'm aware… But I will not make it easy." Meiling responded back, entering a stance of her own. "Prepare yourself."
With both heading to their limits, Kendo and Meling decided to put it all on the line with one final attack, and both dashed at each other.
"Haaaaaaah!" Kendo called, executing the same horizontal chop she used at the beauty pageant, ready to strike.
"Yyaaahhhh!" Meiling cried, as she went for a powerful palm-strike, as she throttled towards Kendo with great speed and force.
Both of them collided in the middle before passing each other as they completed their moves, resulting in a standstill. The audience was left in suspense, knowing either of their moves could be the coup de grace to the other.
"Impressive, that was a powerful blow…" Meiling stated, as she collapsed on the ground, on her knees. "You are truly powerful, Kendo Itsuka."
"Match over! Winner: Kendo!" the ref called out.
"Yeah...I really am." Kendo said as she walked off to recover.
"Okay...now we've finally revved it into the semifinals. Now our first match...David vs Jimbei!" Magenta called out.
"So, you're my opponent, hm?" David asked.
"I would appear so, yes." Jimbei said.
"Honestly, I kind of thought it would be you." David said.
"And I had a feeling only you would go and make it this far." Jimbei said.
"I don't think I'm going to be much of a challenge against someone like you. I mean, compared to Jexi and Cheetah, heck among all of the leaders gathered here, I'm probably the least physically-inclined in a straight-up fight." David said. "But that's not going to stop me now, not at this stage. So, I'm ready for what you plan to throw at me."
"Then you best not make this too easy." Jimbei said.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out.
David takes a cautious stance as he prepares a leg strike.
"Ha!" Jimbei called out, countering it with a palm strike before going at David with a roundhouse kick.
"Too slow." David said as he goes for a palm strike.
"Is that what you think?" Jimbei asked, countering with a palm strike of his own.
David wastes no time in dealing a flurry of kicks, finishing the combo with a spin kick.
"That wasn't too bad." Jimbei said, stopping himself before almost going over the ring. "However...there are some things even you cannot help. Shark Brick Fist!" Jimbei said landing a punch on David as he was sent towards the edge. "Fishman Karate...all utilizes the manipulation of water...something all living things have."
"That may be. I mean, ice is technically frozen water when you think about it. But even so, just as you fight for your crew, I too shall fight for mine, so as to not betray the efforts that they have made for me thus far." David said.
"Good...that's how this should be done." Jimbei said.
"Then come, Jimbei, Knight of the Sea." David said.
"Same with you, Ishihara, Demon Hunter of Tokyo." Jimbei said.
David charged and prepared a flying kick.
Jimbei did the same coming with a palm strike to cancel out the kick.
Both attacks countered against one another before both were sent flying out of the ring.
"Uh…" the ref said.
"No worries. I can just review the camera and see who fell out first." Magenta said checking the footage. "Hmm….yep. It's been decided. The one moving on is...David Ishihara!"
"Well...congratulations." Jimbei said.
"(Thank you, Jimbei.)" David said in Japanese with a bow. "Heh… I honestly didn't believe my legs would be that strong."
"Guess you got a lucky kick to win that." Jimbei said.
"Okay...now its time for the second semifinal match! Bea vs Kendo!" Magenta said.
Bea was in the ring, ready to go after the intense match with Ajna. She had a couple more tricks up her sleeve, but against someone like Kendo, she had to be careful regardless. The good news, her warm up was over, Bea was now ready to get serious, thanks to her match with Ajna.
"Let's have a good match, Kendo." Bea said with a bow of respect.
"Same to you. It's an honor going against a master practitioner of Galar Karate." Kendo bowed in return.
"You may… begin!" The ref said.
Bea took another unique stance as she slowly approached Kendo. Likewise, Kendo was also on her guard as the Fighting-Type Gym Leader approached. Bea would go for a palm strike towards Kendo.
Kendo blocked and countered with a chop to Bea's side. Bea blocked the chop and countered with a high side kick to Kendo's head.
Kendo ducked Beas leg as it brushed her hair and then grabbed it while it was vulnerable. She then executed a Dragonscrew Leg Whip takedown on Bea, forcing her to the mat and damaging her leg. Bea immediately shrugged off the pain and got back up immediately, using the very leg that was supposedly damaged to land a nasty kick on Kendo!
"Nice try at taking out a vital part of my arsenal, but it failed." Bea said with a smirk.
Kendo recovered as Bea was advancing. She sidestepped a fierce punch from Bea that would shatter a cinderblock board and caught her arm this time, throwing her over her shoulder and to the mat again! Bea rolled to her feet and tried to counter attack, but Kendo retaliated with back to back strikes, knocking her down as Bea got up after each one.
(Cue - Gym Leader Battle (Pokémon Sword and Shield) - Metal Cover by FamilyJules)
"So, grapple game, eh? That's how you wanna play, is it?" Bea asked as she charged, going for a palm strike as Kendo grabbed her arm again… only for Bea to reverse the momentum, as Kendo found herself planted to the mat, her arm having been slightly damaged from the fall! Kendo got up again, as Bea went for a kick, Kendo catching it, only for Bea to use her other foot to kick Kendo harshly, nearly sending her out of the ring, as Bea landed on her feet, taking a unique stance once more. "Grapple game ain't gonna work anymore!"
Kendo recovered as she stood on the edge of the ring, taking a defiant stance.
"Still want more? Okay then… this one's gonna sting!" Bea said as she dashed, looking like she was going to go for an attack, but her fist would stop a mere inch from Kendo… and then she smirked. "A bit too easy." Bea said, dashing back. "I almost fell for that one, but not gonna happen." Bea said, taking another unique stance.
Kendo advanced a bit, keeping her stance as she forwarded herself away from the edge. Bea saw that now she could properly advance, since Kendo could have easily used momentum to turn around Bea's attack, as she went for a dashing kick to Kendo.
"You're done!" Bea said launching her kick like a spear shot from a ballista….
But before even one toe of Bea''s foot could touch Kendo's face, she Matrixed right under Bea's kick, bending her legs and folding her body backwards!
"...Damn, nice evasion." Bea said as she immediately jumped back to avoid a counter. "(She's gonna make me bring out my special too early! I wanted to save it for the finals but at this rate…!)" Bea thought to herself.
Kendo focused herself, knowing Bea was going for something big.
"Alright, going for broke it is!" Bea said as she charged at Kendo to land her special, as she jumped in the air for a flying kick.
Kendo saw it coming, seeing that Bea was attacking with the leg she damaged earlier. She then sidestepped Bea as she missed, landing on her feet.
"Yaaaaaah!" Kendo yelled, hitting Bea square from behind as her momentum forced her out of the ring.
"Waaah!" Bea yelled as she flew out of the ring. "Damn! Oh well, I can still win a medal for Byleth…"
"That's the match! Winner, Kendo!" The ref declared.
"Heh, good match Kendo." Bea said with a smile, bowing towards Kendo.
"To you as well, Bea, and good luck against Jimbei." Kendo said, before leaving the arena, as Bea threw a couple practice kicks with the damaged leg, finding it was still suitable.
"Okay, I'm good to go still." Bea said. "A little pain never stopped me." She said, soon taking her place in the ring and waiting for Jimbei to arrive for the bronze medal match.
"If you feel like you need a moment, we can wait." Jimbei said.
"Ha! You kidding? Pain gets my adrenaline rushing. I'm more pumped for a fight than ever, and I intend to use it to win the bronze for Byleth! I'm ready for this!" Bea said as she did, indeed, look ready, that damaged leg not slowing her down one bit.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out.
Bea rushed at Jimbei as he started countering her strikes with palm blocks. "Impressive. Seems pain really doesn't slow you down." Jimbei said.
"Not a bit!" Bea said as she went for a jumping kick with her bad leg, as Jimbei blocked it, although Bea really used it to push off of Jimbei and jump back a distance and take an odd stance, which Jimbei couldn't depict if it was for counter or evasive purposes.
"I see...you are taking it cautious." Jimbei said as he assumed a stance and stood there.
"Heh, as if!" Bea said as she charged, going for a kick. Jimbei blocked, but Bea soon jumped over him, now behind, as she nailed him with a kick that sent him towards the edge. "Now I get the proper chance to bring out my more advanced moves for a proper showing! I'm not losing here, I intend to get at least a medal for Byleth!" Bea said defiantly.
"Just don't push it…" Byleth said as she watched from her seat, concerned about Bea's damaged leg.
"It is true you are a karate prodigy. However…" Jimbei said as he slammed his foot down and pulled a fist back. "You know nothing of Fishman Karate. Arabesque Brick Fist!" Jimbei said punching the air as a shockwave was sent out, forcing Bea back to the edge.
"Whoa! He can do that?" Bea would ask as she stopped herself.
"As I said during David's match. Fishman Karate revolves around the manipulation of water. All life in this world has water inside them." Jimbei said.
(Cue - Stains of Time - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance OST)
"...Well seems like you have a slightly unfair advantage then." Bea said, soon smirking. "Luckily, my biggest tricks in the bag have yet to come out! The kid gloves are comin' off!" Bea said as she rushed at Jimbei, appearing to go for an attack. Jimbei anticipated an attack coming, so he went to block, only to see Bea stop before him. Taking advantage, thinking she hesitated, he went for a palm strike, only for Bea to grab him and slam him into the mat, as she backed up to allow him room to stand back up, while she began to plot her next attack.
"Fishman Karate: 7000 Brick Roundhouse Kick!" Jimbei called out as he landed a quick roundhouse on her.
However, Bea tanked the hit as she smirked at Jimbei. "Alright, my turn! Galar Karate Secret Art: Hollow Flurry!" Bea said as she started with a Roundhouse, which Jimbei blocked, but that wasn't her attack, as she soon broke his guard with another kick, stunning him, before Bea began landing blow after blow on Jimbei, before ending with a huge thrust kick, sending Jimbei skidding backwards.
"(Damn… adrenaline's starting to wear off and my leg's starting to give… unless I end this now I ain't gonna be able to fulfill that promise for Byleth!)" Bea thought to herself at knowing her current situation.
"So this is what she is fighting for." Jimbei said. "Seems there's only one way to end this." he said before raising an arm. "I surrender."
"And it's a surrender! The winner is Bea!" the ref said.
"...What." Bea asked, clearly dumbfounded. "Why did you throw the match!?"
"It's only a piece of metal. I only fight for honor and my crew...not some award. Besides, it's not worth breaking a leg over." he said walking back to the stands.
"...I… guess he's right about that…" Bea said, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. "...Wish I could have asked him for a match outside of this sanctioned arena. Then I would have waited to fight him honorably."
"Now...it's on to the final match! Will it be David? Or will it be Kendo?" Magenta asked. "We're about to find out."
"I'm just going to say...Monoma does not want to be me right now." David said.
"No he does not." Kendo said cracking her knuckles.
"Be honest with me. You've been wanting this ever since Judo, didn't you?" David asked. "I'm quite the same for Cheetah. Yeah, I admit, I was kind of bummed it didn't happen here, but I'm okay with that regardless. Because this isn't the only event that the chance would've come."
"I need to ask. Why did you want it to happen, anyway?" Kendo asked.
"Well, how can I say this? She's gonna be gone for a while and I wanted to give her a match that we both can remember when we meet again. Plus, a little something I noticed. My group has more gold medals than hers does, but they put up better performances overall. I guess we just wanted to settle once and for all whose group was truly better." David said.
"I see….then I'll see to it you have one less medal to compare to her team." Kendo smirked.
"You may...begin!" the ref called out.
"Here I come, Kendo!" David said as he went for a palm strike.
"Ha!" Kendo said, going for a punch to David's ribs.
"Oof… That was nothing." David said as he went for a leg strike.
"Not bad!" Kendo said landing a punch to David's right shoulder.
"Heh. Won't be needing that for Football." David said as he went for a jumping kick.
Kendo quickly blocked as she landed a palm strike on his chest.
David took this opportunity to land a spin kick.
Kendo was dazed for a moment before David landed a palm strike on her as she stumbled to the edge.
"Whew… Didn't think I'd last this long against you. Seems I've been taught a little too well." David said.
"Or not enough." Kendo said.
"Heh. I'm more of a self-taught kind of guy anyway." David said. "So come on, I know you've got more blows to land."
"Definitely." she said going at David with a barrage of punches but was surprised when David blocked each one.
"What's wrong? You seem shocked." David said.
"No...just getting warmed up." she said going for several powerful strikes in succession against David.
"Oof… That's more like it." David said as he recovers and prepares for a palm strike.
"Ha!" Kendo said landing a strike against him before his could land as she went for one last punch right to his gut.
"Damn… Guess I shouldn't have done that." David said as he was pushed past the ring. "I'm out."
"And that's it! Winner for Karate is...Itsuka Kendo!" Magenta said.
"Hai!" Kendo said as she gave a bow.
"Oof… Man, that would've hurt if I was a normal person." David said. "Still, that was some nice handiwork there. I'm glad we've got you around to keep Monoma in line."
"Thanks...I'll do all I can on that front." she said.
"I'm a bit worried now, Barbara. If he has strong legs like that, then facing him in Football won't be as easy as hoped." Angelo said.
"Relax there, Angelo. She's got us to 'elp her out if anything." Yangus said. "If you find yourself against the wall, don't hesitate to call on us. Ya hear, lass?"
"Yes...I have the utmost confidence that we shall take the win." Cheetah said.
"That's the spirit. Don't lose that fervor." Yangus said.
The scenery soon changed over to the stadium as the field was prepared.
"Okay, who is ready for some football? Just to be clear, it's football/soccer, not American football. Now...here's how we're doing this. Each side has eleven members as players. One side wins when they score at least 2 goals. Just so we aren't stuck in a long lasting exchange." Magenta said.
"Right. Traditionally, a full game takes 90 minutes. If we did that for all 16 matches, it would take up the entire day." Sachiko said.
"We aren't going for traditional. We do have other things to do today." Magenta said.
"True enough. It's better this way with the events we have left anyway." Fulgore said.
"Okay...so we aren't pondering all day...we will begin the matchups. First match. Team Valkyrie vs Mythos Hearts." Magenta said.
"So, we're first up, are we?" Ferdnand asked.
"Seems that way. And Mythos Hearts aren't going to make this easy." Leonora said.
Both teams walked onto the field as Magenta held the ball up. "Ready and...kickoff!" she said dropping the ball as Theo took the chance and started kicking the ball around.
"Game time. Let's go, everyone!" Leonora said.
"Too bad, Nora. This shot is for Mythos Hearts!" Theo said, kicking it only for Oscar to intercept. "Aw, what?"
"Sorry, but we don't intend to lose this one." Oscar said as he passed it off to Rinea.
"Now's the time!" Iolite said as they sniped the ball before it could make it to Rinea.
"There's our resident assassin." Cobalt said.
"Hey, I'm open!" Raptor said as Iolite passed it to Raptor as she sped towards the goal. "The shot is ours!" she said kicking towards the goal.
"Not as long as I'm still standing." Berkut said.
Berkut went and caught it before kicking it back to his team.
"Nice one, Berkut. Now, let's keep up this momentum." Leonora said.
"I got it!" Oscar said getting the ball and headed to Mythos Hearts goal where Geld stood as goalie.
"Heh. Good luck with getting it past our orc." Theo said as his team advanced on Oscar.
Oscar looked around him to formulate a path to the goal. He decides that the best way was to make an angle shot that formed a sort of curve.
Geld went to catch it only to slip by him.
"GOOOAAALLL!" Magenta called out. "Now...lets see them make it again." she said as they repositioned themselves as she dropped the ball. "Kick off!"
This time, Leonora kicked it off as they headed for the goal.
"You think it's so easy, don't you?" Souei asked before sneaking right from her.
"That's the way! Now head towards the goal!" Theo called out.
"Go right ahead. We're ready." Leonora said.
"Souei, I'm open!" Benimaru called out as Souei kicked it to him. "Sorry, young prince. But I only do this for my lord." he said kicking the ball right towards the goal like a comet.
"It's not me you have to worry about." Leonora said.
Berkut went and caught the ball as he slid back a bit before passing it off to Leonora.
"Ready? Let's rock and roll!" Leonora said as she began making her way across the field.
"Stop her!" Theo called out.
"I got this! This shall be my debut to olympic glory!" Gabiru said, rushing at Leonora.
Leonora made an attempt to pass to Uhai.
"Now I have it right where I…" Gabiru said before Uhai charged into him and snatched the ball as he headed to the goal. "Well...I'm okay but feel like my pride just took a hit."
Uhai went for a shot at the goal. Geld went for a block only for the ball to slip past him.
"And that is GOOAALLL! Winners are Team Valkyrie!" Magenta said.
"Well...that was still fun." Theo said.
"True." Leonora said.
"Now then...next match! Spectra Force vs Ginhana Sky! And here comes the kick off." Magenta said.
The match quickly started with Spectra getting the ball before they reached the goal where Cresselia floated before he landed a quick goal.
"Wow...a quick goal. Now...let's see if Ginhana Sky can try for a comeback." Magenta said dropping the ball for a second kick off with Spectra Force quickly taking charge of the ball as they landed another quick goal.
"Dang…" Dan said.
"And the winner in the quickest victory yet...Spectra Force." Magenta said.
"Like we said...the tides are now changing for us." Spectra said.
"Next...we have the Royal Knights vs Spirit Force." Magenta said.
"So, it seems we are up now. Let's show how the Royal Knights are at full number." Alphamon said. "Well...technically not full, but you all know what I mean."
"Oh man… The Royal Knights as a full team, very few can stand against something like that." David said.
"Okay...and here comes the kickoff." Magenta said, dropping off the ball.
"Let's start this off right!" Gallantmon said as he began to make his way across the field.
"Pardon Moi." Ash said, dashing past him with the ball. "Mademoiselle Kohaku!" he said kicking the ball to Kohaku who executed a strong kick, sending the ball flying to the goal.
"Like it would be that easy." Craniamon said as he went for a block. He then passed it to Kentaurosmon, who was zipping across the field.
"Here it comes." Kentaurosmon said as he took a shot at the goal.
"Not a chance!" Saki said, catching it. "Simon, heads up!" she said, throwing it to Simon who kicked it to the goal.
"Smashing!" Simon said as he took a shot, as the ball then went flying.
"Sorry, but a shot from that far isn't going to cut it." Omnimon said as he intercepted before taking a shot himself.
"Un! Deux! Troix!" Miriam called, intercepting it on the first, then kicking and running it to the goal on the second, and finally shooting it on the third close to the goal.
"Again? How many times are you going to try that tactic?" Leopardmon asked as he intercepted, made his way towards the field and takes the shot.
Simon goes for the block as it moves past him as it went right into the goal.
"Goal!" Magenta called out. "Let's have the second kickoff!" she said dropping the ball.
"I got this!" Saki said, kicking the ball off before it got snatched by Kentaurosmon.
"Nothing personal." Kentaurosmon said as he went for the shot.
They dove for the shot only for it to duck right under them.
"And that is game. Winners are the Royal Knights!" Magenta called out.
"Damn… They just crushed us." Saki said.
"That's the Royal Knights for you. They always did work better as a group." Spade said.
"Now let's move on to the next match! Reformed Society vs Team Chronicle!" Magenta called out.
"Oh man…" Mark said as they saw Chrysalis among Reformed Society. "I know this is just a competition, but still… having to go against one of our teammates…"
"Do not be down on yourself, Anarchy." CP assured Mark. "Through this, our bond as a team will become even stronger. Are you not excited to test yourself against our allies?"
"Well, I guess you have a point." Mark agreed. "Well then… let's give it all we have!"
"Are you sure about this?" Cheetah asked.
"Yes, I'm positive. I'm glad that you gave me this chance, Barbara. I'll show them that even after going with these guys, I'm still a force to be reckoned with." Chrysalis said.
"Guess we may as well put on a show for 'em, eh?" Yangus asked.
"Put on a show? Come now, Yangus. This is clearly a personal matter for her. She'll need our support." Jessica said.
(Cue- If There Were Any Other Way- Soulcalibur II)
"Here's the kick off!" Magenta said.
"The zombie takes the ball." ZS said as he got to the ball and started kicking it down the field. "And it's off to the races, folks! He runs to the left, to the right, right towards the opposing goal…and launches!" he declared as he kicked the ball towards the goal.
"Hey, commentating is my job, pal!" Magenta said as Pyrox blocked the shot, passing it to Angelo.
Angelo proceeds to make his way across the field before he passes to Chalcedony, who takes the shot.
At Team Chronicle's goal, Kiba observed the ball sailing towards him and managed to block it in time. "Cutting it a bit close there…" Kiba said to himself as he passed the ball to Gohan.
"It looks like we're at a standoff." Gohan noticed. "Hmm… alright then. Captain!" he called out as he kicked the ball towards CP, only to watch as it was intercepted by Jessica.
"Not this time." Jessica said as she passed the ball to Riesz, who took the shot.
"Raaah!" Riesz called out as the ball zoomed right past Kiba and into the goal.
"Goal! Now let's see them make it a winning shot. Kickoff!" Magenta said dropping the ball as the field reset.
"Alright, time for the unexpected play." Mark said as he obtained the ball before he passed it to Ed. "Go Ed, go!"
Ed then took off, kicking the ball while he ran, looking blissfully unaware, yet somehow managing to get rather close to RS's goal before he kicked the ball straight into the net.
"Oh...now we got a tied game. Okay...next one decides it." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"No more slip-ups, mates. Let's give it to' em!" Yangus said.
"Yangus, calm down! There's no need to… And he's off." Jessica said as they followed to support him.
"Comin' at ya, lass!" Yangus said, passing to Chrysalis, who took the shot.
Kiba, seeing the ball coming, moved to intercept it… and fell just short, the ball inches away from his block as it flew into the net.
(end song)
"GOAL! And the winners of this round are the Reformed Society!" Magenta declared.
"Heh… that was something, guys." Mark complemented the Society. "That was a good game you all played."
"Thank you. I'm glad that I was able to get an opportunity like this. I expected nothing less from all of you." Chrysalis said.
"Same here, Chrysalis." Gohan replied. "We'll be cheering you on during the rest of your matches."
"Okay...now it's time for the next match! We have Team Dimensional Heroes vs Straw Hats!" Magenta said.
"We're going up against Luffy and his crew. It's not going to be easy." Pit said.
"Yeah...and coincidentally, soccer is something he's pretty good at." Dan said.
"Hmm...well...we might not win...but let's give the audience a good show." Jexi said.
"You better not hold back, Jexi. Because you know for sure that we won't." Luffy said.
"Okay...and here we go!" Magenta said as the ball dropped.
The two sides played a very fierce game against one another until only one side was left standing.
"After an exciting game like that...the winners are...the Straw Hats!" Magenta called out. "2-1!"
"Heh. We expected nothing less from you, Luffy." Ranma said.
"Yeah...but we managed to hold out as long as we did." Jexi smiled as he and Luffy shook hands. "Go and try and win this thing."
"Don't worry. I'll give it all I got." Luffy said.
"Now...after that exciting match up...we now have Team Ginova vs Team Indivisible!" Magenta said.
"Huh, this is an interesting match up." Ajna said.
"I agree. It's great to be competing against you, especially in the first match." Hope said. "Let's both do our best, and no matter who wins, lets have fun. And give it your all, okay Ajna?"
"Yeah. Let's do it." Ajna said.
Right at the kickoff, the match was fierce. Both teams gave it their all, trying to score the two goals they needed. And in the end, the winner was decided.
"And that is game. With a score of 2-1, the winner is….Team Ginova!" Magenta called out.
"Phew… that was some match." Adora said. "You guys are pretty good."
"Yeah, same to you guys." Ajna said.
"I understand that three of you will be in the Relay race later today." Tungar said. "You youngins better not overexert yourselves."
"We'll be fine. We're gonna do our best to conserve our energy for the relay." Frosta said. "But thanks for the concern."
"He tends to offer sage advice and war stories with anyone in earshot. That's just how he is." Phoebe said.
"Okay...now for the next match! Brave Adventurers vs Soldiers of Fortune!" Magenta called out.
"So… We finally meet each other on the field face-to-face." David said.
"Seems that way. I know you want to face Cheetah but...I'm not going to make anything easy for you. I'm playing with all I got." Siege said.
"As I would expect. I would expect nothing less from someone like you. You and your group...you were a very dark horse in this competition, in many different ways." David said.
"My bet with Richard was partly to blame. But, that's only because I wanted to show our group off on the world stage. I never thought I would ever find myself in this dimension." Siege said.
"It's true. Some things here may seem a bit different from how you originally perceived them. But in my mind, it's those miniscule differences that make alternate dimensions so fascinating. To be able to see how things are if events happened just a little differently." David said. "Yes, I will admit. Not all of them lead to better outcomes. But that's what our journeys thus far have been about. Making choices that impact the world around us, and forging our own destiny as we progress, one step at a time."
"I agree with that wholeheartedly." Siege said with a smile. "And to be honest, I like meeting new people in these dimensions. Which is why I'm glad to have finally met you, David. I had heard of you so much from Richard, but I always yearned for the day if we were to meet face to face. Now we have, and I'm glad for it. What better way for us to meet as well, on a field where we can push each other and our allies to our limits, all in a means of good fun."
"Heh. True that. So come on. Now that I get to see your group in full display, I expect you to bring everything you've got, because you know we will." David said.
"Okay...now's the time to play ball." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"I got this." Siege said starting the kickoff as he kicked it to Allison as she headed for the goal.
"Here we go." Kokoro said as she headed to intercept.
"Try and stop this!" Allison said, going for a goal as she kicked the ball.
"I've got it!" Fulgore said as he went for a block. Fulgore quickly blocked it as he kicked it over to Mana.
"Here we go, mates." Mana said as she proceeded across the field. She soon passed to Francisca, who took the shot.
The goalie at the net was Frosterra, who deflected the shot with a jumping kick, sending the ball back towards the center field!
"Great block!" Neila said to Frosterra.
"Thanks!" Frosterra said with a smile.
"Good thing we got a second chance!" Kokoro said getting behind the ball as she went for a kick herself.
The ball went right at Frosterra. Attempting another jump kick, the ball sailed right under the radius as it hit the net.
"Goal! Now...let's see if lightning strikes twice for the Brave Adventurers!" Magenta said dropping the ball onto the center.
"Once again!" Siege said kicking it to Neila as she went right for the goal only for the ball to be swiped by Mana.
"Sorry, love." Mana said before passing the ball to Himeno.
"That's mine!" Selkie called as she got the ball, heading towards the goal as she soon passed it to Skirtha. "Go for it!"
Skirtha would then kick the ball right for the goal.
"Ha!" Ross said blocking it before passing it over to David. "Your shot, dude!"
"I'm on it." David said as he crossed the center of the field before taking the shot.
"Ha!" Frosterra roared out with another jump kick before she missed it by a small margin as it hit the net.
"And it has happened! Winners are the Brave Adventurers!" Magenta called out.
"Wow… Completely stomped by them. The synergy between them is just astounding." Nailah said.
"Based on what Richard said about them, that hardly counts as a surprise. They've been through the wringer on countless battlefields." Neila said.
"Great job you guys." Siege said to David and his group. "It's clear to me your synergy is on another level."
"It's because of the bonds between each other and all of our allies that we all grow stronger with each passing day." David said. "Honestly, I wouldn't have survived all of those battles I did on my own. I tend to get a little crazy on the battlefield, but I can manage it only because I have these guys looking for me."
"Well, our bonds grow stronger as well, but I can see that we do share similarities with having to have people look out for us. It's been a while since I've had to deal with my own demons, but that's because of my friends." Siege remarked. "Huh… the more I think about it, the more I realize just how alike you and I are, David, even through our differences."
"It seems that way. It's like looking in the mirror to be honest...without the eyepatch." David said. "But...it reminded me of how my father lost his eye before. But he considers his past all but dealt with now. Those were demons from his era."
"Okay ladies and gents! Now for the next match! Unmei Force vs Fairy Tail!" Magenta called out.
"Ah yeah! I'm all fired up!" Natsu said.
"Suppose the same could be said of us." Richard smirked, as his team stepped onto the field.
"Hmm...you're only competing with 4 members?" Lucy asked.
"What do you mean-" Richard remarked, before he then saw the size of the Fairy Tail foot-ball team. "Oh, that's… awkward to say the least."
"Feel like giving up then?" Natsu remarked, crossing his arms.
"On the contrary, this actually managed to make me all the more invigorated to play my best." Richard remarked with an eager grin. "I'd warn you, don't think that a number advantage in foot-ball means all. In fact, call me arrogant, but I think that this balances the odds in your favour. Winning at an disadvantage, even if it is by accident… It will be a strong upset. Still, I apologise in advance of any potential humiliation that you might get."
"Well...okay. But don't come crying to us when we beat you single handedly." Natsu smirked.
Within the first half of the game...
"Incredible...in a surprising upset...the winners are...Unmei Force!" Magenta said. "With the use of the mercy rule… They have claimed victory, despite the disadvantage in numbers."
"How shameful… For our guild to have lost to a team so undermanned." Erza said.
"How the heck…" Gray said.
"Honestly, not my first time playing football." Richard stated. "But you still put up a good fight, for people who haven't been training in foot-ball as much as we did."
"Thanks. But you'll regret it later." Natsu smirked.
"Okay...now the first match of our quarterfinals! Spectra Force vs Team Valkyrie!" Magenta said.
"So we meet at last, Spectra." Leonora said.
"We've met before...but not on the playing field." Spectra said.
"All the same, though. This is going to be an intense match, I can feel it." Leonora said.
"Let's see if she's right. Game on." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"Indeed." Spectra said quickly getting the first kick as he passed it to Dark Pit who ran to the goal.
"Sorry, but we're taking the gold here." Dark Pit said.
"Don't think that it is to be an easy task." Ferdnand said.
"Heads up!" Dark Pit said passing it to Cobra.
"The goal's mine!" Cobra said shooting right for the goal.
Berkut is prompted for a block.
However as the ball soared through the air, Jellal ran behind it before giving it a second kick as it came at the goal twice as fast as Berkut was knocked into the net with the ball as it fell from his hands.
"So...enjoy our new double kick strategy?" Spectra asked.
"Clever...by giving the ball a second kick after the first, they increase its speed and force." Bucciarati said.
"Wow...now that was incredible. Let's see if they can succeed a second time." Magenta said dropping the ball.
As Spectra went to kick, Narancia went and sniped it as it was passed to Leonora.
"No careless mistakes now." Leonora said as she passed to Rinea, who took a shot at the goal.
Kurome went to block only for it to go past her.
"And it's a tied game now. Next one decides it." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"Not this time!" Spectra said kicking the ball before Narancia could have the chance to as he kicked it over to Racer who dashed to the goal.
"Get ready, Lord Berkut. They might go for that strategy of theirs again." Ferdnand said.
"(If only they knew the truth. This is just a fake out. The moment Jellal moves in for the second kick, he'll pass off to Spectra and we'll snatch us a victory.)" Racer thought as he shot the ball.
"(Watch out, Berkut. Be ready for anything.)" Leonora said.
"(Got it. They won't fool me this time.)" Berkut said.
Jellal then ran to the ball as he then kicked it to Spectra.
"Sorry...but this victory is ours!" Spectra said kicking it right towards the goal.
"Fool. I knew that you were bluffing this time." Berkut said as he went for a block as he sent the ball over to Leonora.
"Okay… This is it…" Leonora said as she took a deep breath before going for a shot at the goal.
Kurome went to block only for the ball to zip right past her.
"And the winners are...Team Valkyrie!" Magenta called out.
"Whew… We managed to pull through." Berkut said.
"Yes, we did. But our opponents in the semifinals are either Cheetah or the Royal Knights. Neither are easy contenders." Rinea said.
"True, but knowing you guys, I know you'll hold out against either one of them." Tatsumi said.
"Speaking of...next match is Reformed Society vs Royal Knights." Magenta said.
"So, we meet on the field again. It's so strange how these kinds of things always turn out." Leopardmon said.
"Indeed it is." Cheetah said.
"There are very few that can stand against us all as a unified group. But considering how you all managed to come together in such a short amount of time, I'd say you might have a chance. This is going to be interesting." Leopardmon said.
"Okay...kickoff time!" Magenta said dropping the ball. Soon as it hit the ground, Cheetah was quick to kick and pass to Belladonna.
Belladonna passes to Angelo, who goes for the shot. Craniamon was prepared to block it only for it to curve past him and into the goal.
"Goal! Reformed Society gets one out of the gates!" Magenta said. "Let's see if they can get another and win!" she said dropping the ball once more.
"I'm gonna even things up." UlforceVeedramon said as he made his way across the field.
"I wouldn't even try." Pyrox said standing at the goal.
UlforceVeedramon then shot the ball right past him, much to his surprise.
"And it's now a tied game. Next shot wins!" Magenta said dropping the ball.
"Wouldn't want that any other way." Cheetah said. She rushed the ball and passed it off to Jessica as she made her way towards the goal.
"This will decide it!" Jessica said as she took the shot.
Craniamon stood on guard as the ball went right at his guard before it slipped right through and into the goal.
"And that is game! Winners are...Reformed Society!" Magenta called out.
"Damn… We lost." Craniamon said.
"Do not be disheartened, Craniamon. It's a showing of how close they have all bonded in such a short amount of time." Alphamon said.
"Yes...it truly was a remarkable experience." Cheetah said.
"Treasure those bonds you have, Barbara. For they will be the key to overcoming your impending struggles." Alphamon said.
"Okay...time for the next match! Team Ginova vs Straw Hats!" Magenta called out.
"Yeah!" Luffy called out.
"Okay. Let's give this the best we got." Hope said.
The two teams competed at the kickoff, both giving it their best. Despite Team Ginova giving it their all, they were no match for Luffy and his teams' better expertise.
"And the winners are...Team Straw Hat!" Magenta called out. "Meaning...in the semifinals...they'll either face Brave Adventurers...or Unmei Force. Let's see which of these two manage to claim victory."
"I will admit, your choice of team is rather...bizarre." David said.
"Trust me, if it wasn't for that catastrophic mess-up, I would have brought more people for a full team." Richard stated, before shaking his head side-to-side. "Guess I messed that one up. But you know what they say, when life gives you lemons… You make some lemonade out of it. I didn't expect to get to the quarter-finals with a lacking team… But here I am. And I'm sure not going to quit, even if the odds might be against me."
"Catastrophic? I thought it was already made clear." Francisca said.
"Yeah, I mean...11 members is the minimum size for an official team. But...sometimes you just gotta work with what you've got." David said.
"Yeah, I was figuring that I might have been just outright rejected for lacking teammates in my registration, but here I am anyways… Still, I very much agree with you. Let's play." Richard answered back with an eager smirk on his face.
"Okay...time for kickoff!" Magenta said dropping the ball.
"Here we go!" Scott said as he started making his way across the field.
Elena came rushing towards Scott, as she went for a low tackle to try and steal the ball off Scott. Scott, however, passed it over to Sectonia, who went for the shot, as Tatsuki rushed over to it, as he used his hands to catch the ball, managing to stop the shot dead in its tracks.
"Sanae, catch!" Tatsuki stated, before he then hauled the ball over the field with a mighty throw, as Sanae quickly moved into place, and caught it with a jumping leap, landing on the ground with the ball on her feet, before she then made her way forward, with Elena and Richard moving into position on the sides.
Sanae did a quick check around her, to see if there were people trying to intercept her. She then quickly surged forward, while she had room to manoeuvre, before she then eyed Richard, and went for a long pass to him.
"You think I can just let that fly?" Yoko asked as she intercepts before making her way through the field.
"Same to you!" Elena stated, as she immediately zips across the field, honing onto Yoko, as she went for another tackle. However, she manages to pass in time to Himeno, who took the opportunity to shoot for the goal.
Tatsuki managed to catch the shot again, although this time, it was barely in front of the goal itself, before Tatsuki then checked the field, as his teammates moved into the open.
"Richard!" Tatsuki stated, as he threw the ball again, with Richard catching it neatly, before he then rushed through, dribbling the ball through the field, and making feints to throw off his pursuers.
He managed to get in the shooting range of the goal, although several members of the Brave Adventurers were closing onto him. Richard then took a deep breath, before he then flicked the ball up, before then leaping up, and decking the ball with a volley-shot, sending it flying towards the goal area.
"Nice try." Fulgore said as he went for the block, as Richard landed back on the ground.
Fulgore passed the ball over to Francisca, who managed to make her way across the field before passing to Tsumugi. She decides to take this opportunity to shoot for the goal. Tatsuki looked like he was about to block the shot. However, the shot spiralled out of his hands, and slowly tapped against the back of the goal net.
"And that's goal! Could Unmei Force's decision of a shorter team be catching up to them? Let's see if they can come back from this." Magenta said as the ball was set back on the field.
Richard then took the moment to pass the ball to Sanae, who immediately started moving across the field, while dodging the defending Brave Adventurers. However, she wasn't aiming for the goal area directly, but instead a small place on the side with an angle to the goal itself.
"Elena! Help me out with this one!" Sanae cried out, before she then took a long shot at the goal itself.
Elena immediately reacted to the long shot, as she surged towards the flying shot at full speed, making full use of her speed, before she then moved in place to redirect the shot with a volley of her own, which doubled up the power of the shot, as it surged towards Fulgore. Unfortunately, Fulgore wasn't quick enough to block the shot as it went through.
"And that's one goal each. Next goal decides the match!" Magenta said as the ball was set on the field again.
"Alright. There's no turning back now." Ross said as he made his way across the field. He passes over to Kokoro, who takes the shot. Tatsuki dug himself into the ground, as he was resisting the shot from the dragoness, which had a fair amount of power, as he was being sent sliding back by the shot, although not enough to be launched onto the back of the net.
"Elena!" Tatsuki cried, before he then threw the ball over to Elena, who caught it, before she then made a mad sprint, while Richard moved to defence, and Sanae moved to the offence with her.
Mana managed to intercept before passing to Himeno, who in turn made a pass to Scott, who decided to take the risk and made a backflip kick towards the goal.
"Oh no you don't!" Richard roared, before he then leapt up, and caught the shot with his leg, stopping it, as he tried to send it flying back for a counter-shot across the field, managing to succeed, as it flew in the air across the field, towards where Fulgore was. Sanae and Elena tried to chain the shot, although they failed, meaning that the shot was weak enough for Fulgore to just catch easily.
"You gave it a good try, I'll give you that. But these kinds of tactics can only get you so far." Fulgore said as he passed it over to Tsumugi, who made a pass to Ross, who decided to take the shot right then and there. Tatsuki tried to block the shot, although it broke past his guard, and hit the back of the net.
"And that's game! Brave Adventurers move on to the semifinals!" Magenta said.
"Whew… That was a close one. I honestly thought we'd mess this up for a moment there." David said.
"Welp, our run ends here… At least it was fun to try this…" Richard remarked with a light-hearted chuckle. "Good game, David and Brave Adventurers."
"Same to you. It was really great for you all to come down here." David said with a smile. "This is kind of like a bookend of sorts, when you think about it."
"He's right. We actually first met here in Tokyo." Sectonia said. "Not just you and us. This was also where our group first formed...albeit while it was still in ruins."
"Well, that's nice to learn about…" Richard responded back.
"Wait, how did your group actually start, David?" Sanae asked David.
"Well, it's kind of hard to explain. I was attacked by stray Monokumas before Sectonia in her old body came out of nowhere and saved me, even though she was supposedly dead, and I met Lloyd, his party, Scott and Ramona later on when they were transported here and we saved them." David said.
"Stray Mono…" Sanae repeated, before she then paled, realising what David meant. "Oh… Oh…"
"Yeah, but Tokyo is restored now, so we don't need to worry about that anymore." Kokoro said.
"That's nice to hear. Still, it's sobering to learn that your team rose from a wish to save others, if it was Sectionia's arrival that inspired you to heroism…" Richard answered back.
"Kind of. Some things happened here and there and before we knew it...we ended up falling in love." David said with a blush.
"I bet you didn't really expect that from me, huh? I doubt my counterparts ever get to experience true love." Sectonia said.
"Really? I hope for the best in your continued relationship." Richard remarked with a smile. "To be fair, I actually have a bit of a love interest myself."
"I don't like to pry, but...who?" David asked.
"Well, I doubt that you'll know her… But do you know the legend of Kaguya, the princess of the moon?" Richard asked back, before he then rubbed the back of his head. "I'm actually a close friend of one variation of her, and we're fairly close, and planning to seal the deal as a couple sooner or later. She's not over on this side, but when she does, I'll introduce you to her. She'll be quite interested in all of you guys."
"Whoa, are you serious?" David asked. "Well, I hope things go well between the two of you."
"Heh heh. Thanks." Richard chuckled, before his team left the field.
"Now...the semifinals are just starting out! We have Team Valkyrie vs Reformed Society." Magenta called out.
"I'm kind of surprised that the two of us are meeting like this. I don't think we remember even interacting in the IG-3 before the whole Miasma fiasco." Leonora said.
"I know. You know the only reason we entered that was for a deal with Diablo to free us from prison, right?" Cheetah said.
"Yes, we are well aware of that now. But a lot has changed since then. Some of us are still finding it hard to believe you guys were even the same as before. Though, I'm not exactly one to talk, am I?" Leonora asked.
"No...you aren't." Cheetah said.
"Okay...now it's game time!" Magenta said dropping the ball.
"So...don't take it personally but...I need to beat you now." she said snatching the ball as she kicked it over to Angelo as he headed for the goal.
"Here it comes!" Angelo said as he took the shot.
Berkut was prepared to block. He dove to block the shot only for it to miss and hit the goal.
"Goal! Reformed Society is on fire today! Do they have what it takes to go all the way?" Magenta asked, dropping the ball.
"Guess we'll find out." Teresa said as she started making her way across the field.
"Thanks for keeping it warm for me." Riesz said, snatching the ball away from Teresa.
"Hope you haven't forgotten about me." Loki said.
"Trust me, you're hard to forget!" Riesz said, swerving around Loki before passing it off to Belladonna.
"Now for the finisher!" Belladonna said as she took the shot.
Berkut went to block as the ball went and sent him right into the net with it as it fell to the ground.
"GOAL! Moving on to the finals is...REFORMED SOCIETY!" Magenta called out.
"Oh, man. We got knocked hard." Narancia said.
"Yes, we did. Just when we wanted to prove how effective we all are together." Leonora said.
"Silly Valkyrie… You already have." Cheetah said.
"She's got a point, you know. I mean, sure, you had a slow start, but your performances lately got you to rise up the ranks. That has to count for something." Jessica said.
"Thank you. That means a lot." Leonora said.
"Okay...now the next semifinal match! Brave Adventurers vs Straw Hats!" Magenta called out.
"Oh yeah! Now this is gonna be fun!" Luffy said.
"I will admit. I was pretty nervous about fighting you in KOF...before you dropped out and all. But no nerves here. We're ready for anything." David said.
"You better commit to that cause here's the kickoff!" Magenta said dropping the ball as Luffy quickly kicked it up as he headed for the goal.
"Hey, Sanji!" Luffy said, passing it to him.
"I'm on it." Sanji said, kicking the ball straight towards the goal.
Fulgore took the initiative for a block. He made the block and passed it to Tsumugi.
"All right." she said heading for the goal.
"Tsumugi, I can't…" Sanji said before looking at her. "Please right this way." he said stepping aside as she went for the goal.
"The hell are you doing?!" Franky said.
"What? She's a lady and she needs this for her team." Sanji said.
"So do we!" Nami said.
Tsumugi took this opportunity to shoot for the goal.
"All right. Here we go. I got it...gah!" Usopp said as the hit wizzed right past his head and into the goal.
"And that's goal for the Brave Adventurers. Could they go all the way to the finals?" Magenta asked as she dropped the ball once more.
"Let's make this right!" Luffy said getting the ball once again. "Oi, Zoro!" he said, passing it off to the green haired swordsman.
"I see it." Zoro said heading for the goal. "No sword style! Dragon Twister Kick!" Zoro said, kicking the ball right into the goal as Fulgore was sent flying.
"Incredible! We're now at a tied game. It's anyone's guess who wins now." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"Time to bring down the curtain." Sectonia said as she made her way across the field.
"Oh crud." Usopp said.
"Don't worry. I got this." Chopper said, entering his Heavy Point and ready to block.
"Yeah, like that's gonna mean anything to stop her." Usopp said as Sectonia got closer.
"Here I go." Sectonia said with a wink as she shoots for the goal.
Chopper proceeded to guard before being knocked back by the ball as he fell into the goal with the ball and Usopp.
"And that is game! Winners moving on are the Brave Adventurers!" Magenta said.
"Haha… I knew they would make it through." Zacian said. "These two Heroes of Galar never cease to amaze with how much energy they have."
"True that. Especially since this may be the last time they'll face off in these Games. Both of them are aware of this. So, they figured they may as well make it a good one." Zamazenta said.
It was soon after this that a small bronze medal match was held between the Straw Hats and Team Valkyrie, ending with the Straw Hats winning 2-1.
"Okay...ladies and gents. It is now time for the final match! Brave Adventurers vs Reformed Society!" Magenta called out.
"So… It seems the time has finally come." David said. "When we first met back in your dimension, I never imagined that things would've turned out like this."
"I didn't think so either. Back when you foiled my plans, all I wanted was to kill you and Diana. Yet here we are now, fighting in some sport competition as friendly rivals." Cheetah said.
"Friendly is kind of an apt term. But yeah. I will admit that my actions did end up angering a lot of people. Back then, I was just a punk that had no idea what he was getting himself into. But over the course of my journeys, I learned and saw things for myself that I never would've otherwise. Jexi, Hope, Richard… Yes, even Ace, Mark, and even you. You all showed me the different sides of the worlds around us." David said.
"It's so ironic that I am included in this." Cheetah said. "But it is still an honor to hear that."
"Yep. And I don't regret a second of it." David said. "But...It's also saddening because this might be the last time we'll face off in these Games, after which you'll split off from us. But...I can tell from the company you keep that you're in good hands. So… No matter who wins, let's make this a good one. One that no one will forget!"
"Indeed. Here I come, Ishihara!" Cheetah said.
(Cue- Fury Sparks Arrangement- Tales of Vesperia)
"Here we go! Kickoff!" Magenta said dropping the ball.
Cheetah smiled as she quickly made her move and got the ball as she headed for the goal.
"Here she comes!" Kokoro said.
"Belladonna!" Cheetah said passing it off to her before Belladonna kicked for the goal.
Fulgore went for a block. However the ball made it past him just before he could grab it.
"And a point for Reformed Society. They just might have more gold in their future." Magenta said dropping the ball as Sachiko quickly got to it.
"I'll even things up for us." Sachiko said.
Yangus went for a block as Sachiko prepared to kick it.
"Here it comes!" Sachiko said as she kicked it towards the goal.
Yangus attempted to block before it went right into him as both crashed into the goal.
"Tied game! Winner takes all here." Magenta said dropping the ball.
"We've reached a sudden death tiebreaker. Next goal wins the match." Angelo said.
"Here we go." Cheetah said as she snatched the ball as she started making way to the goal before David blocked her way.
"Don't think I'm gonna make this easy for you." David said.
"I don't expect you to." Cheetah said before kicking the ball over to Jessica as she made way for the goal.
"I got this!" she said kicking it before it was quickly blocked by David.
"Nice try." David said before passing to Himeno.
Himeno takes the shot, only for Pyrox to block it.
"Nice try!" Pyrox said passing it to Poison Ivy as she went to the opposite goal.
"Here she comes. Get ready." Mana said.
"Nice to prepare, but I'm not the one making the goal." Poison Ivy said passing to Cheetah as she dashed at the goal before making her shot.
Fulgore went for a block.
"You can't block this time." Cheetah said as the ball zoomed right past Fulgore, a few inches apart from him as it hit the goal.
"And there we have it! The winners of football are...Reformed Society!" Magenta called out.
"Damn… Lost again. Sorry, guys." Fulgore said.
"It's okay, Fulgore. It was a very good and very close match either way." David said.
"Indeed it was." Zacian said with Zamazenta. "We saw the both of you come together as actual teams in this event. And that's proof that we know we made the right judgment with the two of you. It's just a shame that you'll be apart."
"You'll see us again in Galar." Cheetah said.
"We are sincerely hoping for that." Zamazenta said.
"I wouldn't worry about her. She's in very good hands with who she has now." David said.
"Speaking of which, I heard you guys went to the Isle of Armor." Ace said.
"We did. We fought and trained there and learned about the mysterious Pokemon Kubfu and its evolution Urshifu." Titanica said.
"Sounds interesting." Ash said as Inteleon stood next to him.
"It really is." Titanica said.
"If only they knew what was going to be coming soon." Zacian whispered.
"It's best we don't leak anything to them. Lest we fill them with concern." Zamazenta whispered back.
"Besides, they'll know full well what is going to happen once passage to that place has finally opened up." Zacian said.
"Ah yeah...well the place is pretty much frozen ice for a long time. It might not open up." Zamazenta said.
"I highly doubt that considering who we're talking about." Zacian said. "Besides, I've seen their trail. They'll be there soon."
"Seems like there's more chaos sewn from them than last time." Zamazenta said.
"What are you guys whispering about?" Pinkie asked.
"Nothing you need to worry about." Zacian said.
"Yes. You all just continue to enjoy and watch the games." Zamazenta said.
"Yeah. The next event is the 4x100m Relay." David said.
"How is that any different from the other track events so far?" Magnamon asked.
"Well, for one thing… 4 runners from each team will be running in sequence. There is an aspect of strategy in this in that you will need to assign your runners in the order that leads to the best finishing time." Cheetah said.
"Plus we're doing it in heats. So the teams gotta be fast to make it to the medal race." Theo said.
"So this'll be something like the swimming relays then?" Ajna asked.
"In a way." Nami said.
The scene soon shifted over to the stadium where the runners were set up on the relay track.
"Welcome to the 4x100 Relay! Let's get these races underway!" Magenta called out. "Heat one is...Straw Hats, Fairy Tail, Brave Adventurers, Valkyrie, Mythos Hearts, Team Chronicle, Indivisible and Unmei Force. Ready and...go!" she said as the racers took off down the path repeatedly passing off their batons to the next racer. It didn't take long before they all passed the finish. "And our four from this heat are...Fairy Tail, Brave Adventures, Mythos Hearts and Unmei Force!" Magenta called out.
"Whoo! Made it." David said.
"You sure seem excited, my lord." Kabuki said.
"Well yeah...he wants to have another race with Cheetah I'm assuming." Theo said.
"More than that, we finally made it to a track event final." David said. "Oh man. I couldn't believe how intense that was."
"Now...heat 2 is up and running. We have Dimensional Heroes, Ginova, Spectra Force, Reformed Society, Royal Knights, Soldiers of Fortune, Spirit Force and Ginhana Sky. And...go!" she said as they all took off down the track before they crossed the finish. "And the top four are...Reformed Society, Dimensional Heroes, Ginova and...Spirit Force!" Magenta said.
"That was astounding. We managed to pull through." Riesz said.
"It was quite exhilarating." Roy said.
"Yeah, despite already performing in the earlier event, we actually advanced." Frosta said.
"You guys did great. Perfect teammates." Riku nodded.
"Okay...time for the final heat." Magenta said as the racers got ready. "And...go!" she said as they took off down the track until all of them crossed the finish. "And our medalists are...Ginova with bronze, Spirit Force with silver and...Brave Adventurers taking the gold!"
"Whoo! Yeah, baby!" David said. "Couldn't have done that without you guys."
"Man oh man. Two silver medals and now a gold? Just where does that boy get all of his energy from?" Belladonna asked.
"It's a mystery even to us." Simon said.
"Luckily he's not competing in the last event, Volleyball." Belladonna said.
"Yeah. Last time Mayumi and I were in Volleyball, we were partners and we didn't get past the first round." Peridot said.
"But we're in different teams this time, so maybe new partners means that things will be different." Mayumi said.
"Oh yeah, Volleyball was really fun during the Furious Sports, until that one time…" Kohaku sweatdropped.
"Well...things are...gonna be different this time." Ochako said.
The scene soon changed over to Shiokaze Park where the volleyball event was about to begin.
"Okay, everyone. Welcome to the last event of the day, Volleyball. We were originally planning to make this indoors but...we figured a little fun in the sun might do everyone some good. Now...the rules are simple. First to two points wins. Two players to a team. Now..let's start things off right! First we have Team Fairy Tail vs The Royal Knights!" Magenta said.
"So, we're first up, huh?" Dynasmon asked.
"It would seem so." Erza said.
"Ah, the Royal Knight Couple vs the Fairy Queen and Sky Dragon, this'll be interesting." Mastemon said.
"First serve goes to Fairy Tail." Magenta said as Erza and Wendy served the ball to the Royal Knights.
Crusadermon managed to return the shot as Dynasmon set it up for a spike.
As soon as the ball is spiked, Wendy dives down and sends it back up in the air as Erza sends it back to the opposite side.
Dynasmon was about to dive for it, however it didn't have enough momentum for a spike, so Crusadermon simply made a hit over the net.
"Right where we want it." Erza said as Wendy knocked it up as Erza smashed it onto the Royal Knights side.
"Point, Fairy Tail. Now the Royal Knights will serve." Magenta said.
Crusadermon wasn't deterred as she served the ball over the net.
Erza dove as she sent the ball back into the air as Wendy just sent it back over the net.
Crusadermon returns the shot and Dynasmon sets it up for a spike.
"That's not a bad move." Erza said as she jumped up to counter it by knocking it back to their side, however the knights were quick to send it back over, leading to a back and forth conflict over the ball until it finally landed on the Royal Knights side.
"And that is game! Winner...Fairy Tail!" Magenta called out.
"Whew… We certainly didn't expect to be the ones to be crushed." Dynasmon said.
"It just shows that this combo isn't quite what it once was. But that doesn't matter. As long as I have you, Dynasmon, it doesn't matter in the slightest." Crusadermon said.
"Thank you, Crusadermon. This means a lot." Dynasmon said.
"Okay...it's now time for the second match! Brave Adventurers vs Straw Hats!" Magenta called out.
"Oh wow… This is a little nerve-wracking." Mayumi said. "Going against Nami and Carrot of all people."
"Calm down, Mayumi. There's no need to be nervous. Just stay calm and let your body do the work." Cia said.
"I'll try. But I was narrowly eliminated from the first round last time, so I just need to make sure that doesn't happen again." Mayumi said.
"Brave Adventurers have first serve!" Magenta said.
"Here goes." Mayumi said as she made the serve.
Nami caught it as she quickly returned it before Cia countered it as it landed on their court.
"Wow...point to the Brave Adventurers. Straw Hats serve next!" Magenta said as Carrot went and served it.
Cia returns the shot before Mayumi sets up for the spike.
"I got this!" Carrot said going for a dive only to miss the quick spike sent down by Mayumi.
"And there we have it. Winners are the Brave Adventurers!" Magenta called out.
"Whew… We made it. I didn't think we could pull it off." Mayumi said.
"Yet we did." Cia said.
"Now we have a chance at the quarter finals." Mayumi said.
"Next we have Team Ginova vs Team Dimensional Heroes!" Magenta called out.
"Another event, another odd combination to the crowd..." Mermista said stretching as flamberge hopped in place.
"The irony isn't lost on me Mermista, because Fire and Water…" Flamberge said before slapping her face. "But we're gonna make a great team, I just know it!"
"Sure…" Mermista rolled her eyes before looking at the Dimensional heroes pair. "So, let's have a good match?"
"Yeah." Ochako said.
"Dimensional Heroes serve first." Magenta said as Ochako served over to the water and fire duo.
Flamberge saw it coming and bopped it back over to the other side of the court.
Tsuyu then saved it as Ochako went and spiked it.
"Point, Dimensional Heroes! Ginova serves!" Magenta said.
Mermista served the ball as she knocked it over the net to Tsyuyu and Ochako.
The two of them quickly sent it back only for Mermista to spike it.
"Point, Ginova. Next shot decides." Magenta said as Tsuyu served the ball over to the Ginova team.
Mermista set the ball to pass it as Flamberge blasted it up high with a huge shot, sending it into the air.
"Mermista!" Flamberge called.
"Got it!" Mermista said jumping up as it came down and shot it right towards where they could get their winning point.
The two heroines dove for the ball only to miss by a small margin.
"And that is game. Winners are Team Ginova!" Magenta said.
"Yeah!" the both of them said as they high fived each other, Mermista realizing what she was doing.
"I mean, uh… whatever." she said regaining her composure, or at least tried to, in hiding her blush.
"Who would've thought those two would make a great team?" Captain Cold asked.
"It's like they always say, opposites attract, even in team ups." Al said.
"I think myself and Ishihara are more proof of that than anyone else." Cheetah said.
"Yeah, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a sight to behold regardless. These opposites are essentially two sides of the same coin, when you think about it." David said.
"Okay...time for the fourth match! Unmei Force vs Spirit Force! A battle of the forces!" Magenta called out.
"Alright, let's get this started!" Sanae declared, as she came inside the volleyball court with Sumireko.
"Spirit Force gets first serve." Magenta said as Kohaku sent it over the net.
Sumireko immediately digs it back, sending it over towards the back of the court.
"Hmph." Emyia said as he flash stepped to the back and setted the ball into the air as Kohaku jumped into the air and kick-spiked it.
"Wow...and Spirit Force lands a quick point. Not surprising considering their leader is a fan of the sport. But now it's Unmei Force's time to serve." Magenta said.
Sanae immediately served the ball over the net, while Sumireko prepared to intercept.
Emiya immediately went and executed a Bump over to Kohaku who followed up with a Hit into the air and Emiya finished with a spike.
"And with a quick spike to their side, the winners are Spirit Force!" Magenta said.
"Yes! Moving on to the quarterfinals!" Kohaku said.
"You both did admirably despite your loss, well done." Emiya said.
"Well, it was a bit of a disappointing performance, but at least we tried our best." Sumireko stated with a beaming smile. "Good luck, Emiya and Kohaku, in the following rounds."
"Thank you." Emiya said with a small smile.
"Next up...we have Team Indivisible vs Ginhana Sky!" Magenta said.
"We're ready coach." Hunoch said as Xiboch stood next to him.
"Uh… You know this is a two-person sport, right?" Magenta asked.
"Oh they both share one body since Xiboch is a ghost, but it should be fine if one of them plays, right?" Ajna asked.
"Well, technically, yes. Unless they're both competing, one of them has to be your partner, Ajna." Magenta said.
"It's fine. I can do this, coach." Hunoch said.
"Knock em dead bro." Xiboch said as he flew into his brother's chest.
"Yay! Go Hunoch!" Nuna cheered.
"Okay...first serve goes to Ginhana Sky." Magenta said as Pikachu served it with his tail.
"Ha!" Hunoch said as he returned it with a spike.
Gardevoir dove to catch it only to miss.
"And that's a point for Indivisible. Let's see if they can make it a quick one cause it's their serve now!" Magenta said.
"Here goes." Ajna said, serving it into the air as it's sent to Ginhana Sky's side.
"Pikachu!" Gardevoir called out as she sent the ball up as Pikachu sent it flying to Ajna's side with a spike with his tail.
However, Ajna went for a save as Hunoch went and spiked it.
"Wow...impressive! Winners are Team Indivisible!" Magenta called out.
"Yes! I knew they'd win!" Nuna called out.
"That was fun you two, we should do it again sometime." Ajna said.
"I'm so sorry about this, Gardevoir." Kasumi said.
"It's fine. It's just a game after all. Not like the fate of the world depended on it." Gardevoir said with a soft smile.
"Besides, your classmate and his companions are doing very well. They're about as good as you told us they were." Totodile said.
"They really are." Tatsuya said.
"It brings a smile to my face regardless. I'm glad you saved me so that I could see it for myself." Gardevoir said.
"Okay...match number six is up and running now. Team Chronicle vs Spectra Force!" Magenta said.
"Okay...let's get this over and done with." Mine said.
They played against Rin and Shirou with all they had but...the match was soon decided.
"Incredible! Winners are...Team Chronicle! 2-0!" Magenta said.
"Alright! One step closer to the gold!" Rin cheered.
"I have to say, I didn't know why we were chosen for this at first, but after this, I'm not complaining." Shirou mused. "We'll just have to keep it up."
"Okay, guess we'll go to the seventh match. Team Valkyrie vs Soldiers of Fortune." Magenta said.
"Hmm… It's quite interesting having to compete in this event. Wouldn't you agree, Teresa?" Oscar asked.
"Yes. Indeed. But I will do anything for you, Oscar." Teresa said.
"Thank you, dear sister. Now, let's show them our combined might." Oscar said.
"First serve goes to Soldiers of Fortune!" Magenta said as Siege served the ball.
"Here it comes, Oscar!" Teresa said as she returned the shot, which Oscar set it up for Teresa's spike.
Allison was there to block the spike, putting the ball back on Team Valkyrie's side!
Oscar dove to return it, barely having enough momentum to send it to Teresa, who puts it over the net.
Siege was there to set it up for Allison, who set it up for Siege to go for a smash to send the ball over the net at high Velocity.
"Haaa!" Oscar called out as he returned the smash with equal power as it went and landed back on their side.
"Point, Valkyrie! Speaking of, they serve next." Magenta said.
Teresa serves the ball up as she sends it over.
Allison was there, setting it up for Siege as he sent it back over.
Oscar returned the shot, with Teresa setting it up for him to spike.
Another block by Allison, this one better than the last as it was gonna be a harder save this time!
Teresa was able to barely reach it, however, managing to sail it over the net.
Siege was there for a spike, but Oscar blocked, only for Allison to be there to spike it herself, as the ball landed on Team Valkyrie's side inbounds!
"Point, Soldiers of Fortune! They get final serve!" Magenta said.
"Heh, great job Allison! Perfect sync!" Siege said as Allison and him fist bumped.
"Yeah, it's coming down to this though. We're not in many more events, in fact I don't think we are in any more events period. Let's make this count!" Allison said as she got ready to serve.
Teresa was able to return the shot, as Oscar set it up for her to spike.
Another block for yet another spike, Allison was there!
Teresa was able to return it, however, instead of going for another spike, Oscar just let it sail over the net.
Siege would follow it and hit it back, an easy return.
Teresa hits back to Oscar, who aims for one of the corners.
Siege is there and hits it to Allison, who goes for a spike! Both Oscar and Teresa dove for it. They managed to knock it back into the air for Teresa to score a quick spike on the couple.
"And there we have it! Winners are...Team Valkyrie!" Magenta called out.
"Damn… So much for our perfect sync." Siege said. "But I'm not mad. You two are really good. I can see why Leonora trusts you both so much."
"Oh, you flatter us. Sure we're former Exorcists, but I don't believe we're anything that special." Oscar said.
"Former? Oh, right. If Leonora is a Valkyrie, then…" Allison said.
"That's right...we died. Melchior set us both up with circumstances that led to our deaths. We were killed by Velvet Crowe." Teresa said.
"It was then that we went to Leonora's service. In fact, because Leonora's power as a Valkyrie awakened at that point, we might be her very first Einherjar." Oscar said.
"Well...hopefully you continue to serve her for years to come." Siege said.
"Hahaha… I feel that we might." Oscar said.
"Now...match 8! Reformed Society vs Mythos Hearts!" Magenta called out.
"Hmm… You two, you were spared from your destined demises, were you not?" Esmeralda asked.
"What's it to you?" Belladonna asked.
"Oh, think nothing of it. Just seeing how fickle fate can be." Esmeralda said.
"Um… Anyone else feel like I'm the odd girl out here?" Peridot asked. "Like, I'm the only one without any cat-like features here."
"Enough about that. Glacius, was it? It was your performance in the Uneven Bars that sent Yoko running to Asakusa, right? If anything, we should be thanking you for that. It seems like she's finally got her chipper attitude back." Belladonna said.
"Thanking me? What does it matter to me if some girl runs off because of her own weakness?" Glacius said.
"Weakness? Did you forget that same girl trounced you in Synchronized Swimming later on?" Peridot asked.
"These games are but a mere distraction to us. After all, after today, we will be free from our obligations." Glacius said.
"Well, whichever direction you want to swing. Just try not to get too distracted against us." Belladonna said.
"She acts like we're ever distracted." Esmeralda said. "Do you?"
"Of course not." Glacius said smiling.
"Okay...first serve goes to Mythos Hearts so…" Magenta said as the ball was quickly served and hit the ground. "At least wait for me to finish the sentence."
"And since this is our last day...we may as well show what we've been holding back." Glacius said.
"Haha! That's the spirit." Belladonna said as she served in turn. "Especially from you, Glacius. You've got nothing to be ashamed about with your performances."
"Ashamed? Please." Glacius said as she jumped and returned the serve.
Peridot managed to return the serve as Belladonna set up for a spike.
"Now…" the two ice beasts said as they leapt into the air and returned the spike with a strong return as it landed.
"And...that's game! Winners are...Mythos Hearts!" Magenta called out.
"And another first-round knockout. Well, at least Mayumi has better luck than us." Peridot said.
"I don't think luck has anything to do with it, personally." Glacius said. "I'm not saying that you were holding her back, but that Mayumi girl has been coming to her own lately."
"Yeah, I guess you're right about that. I can at least be happy for her." Peridot said.
"Now it's time for Match 9! Fairy Tail vs Brave Adventurers!" Magenta called out.
"I had a feeling it was a matter of time before I faced off against you, Erza." Mayumi said.
"Well we are in the same bracket so...it was always going to come to us. Now...I expect you to come at us as if your life depended on it." Erza said.
"Right. Let's see if the Enhanced can stand against the original!" Mayumi said.
"First to serve, Brave Adventurers!" Magenta said.
Mayumi sets up the serve as she sends it over.
Wendy went and knocked it up as Erza went out with a strong spike.
Cia was able to return the spike to Mayumi, who set it up for Cia to spike the ball herself.
Cia spiked it as Wendy missed it.
"Okay, point for Brave Adventurers. Next Fairy Tail will…" Magenta said as Erza served it quickly and scored the point. "What? Again?"
"What better way to get out one's potential than a life or death situation? Least sports wise?" Erza said.
"Gotta admit, she has a point there." Mayumi said as Cia serves.
Wendy went and got the ball up as Erza simply served it back.
Mayumi got the ball in the air, as Cia set it up for Mayumi to spike.
Erza was quick to counter it as Wendy knocked it up for Erza to spike it back at them.
Mayumi returned it, being pushed back by the force. Cia managed to recover it for Mayumi to spike the ball.
Erza went back with a spike of her own as it soon lead to a stand off between her and Mayumi as both kept returning each other's serves and spikes.
"Wow. Those two are really going at it." Sectonia said.
"I suppose this is to show if the Enhanced is as strong as the original." Al said. "Or maybe not."
This continued on for a bit until the ball finally landed on one side.
"And the ball has finally fallen. The ones moving on to the semifinals are...Fairy Tail!" Magenta called out.
"You did well to keep me on edge like that." Erza said.
"Whew… Must've gotten that spirit from you." Mayumi said.
"Maybe you did among other things." Erza said. "You're going to continue to go far out there."
"And with that...let's move on to match 10. Team Ginova vs Spirit Force!" Magenta said.
"Alright Berge, I've got a good strategy for these guys, so follow my lead." Mermista said.
"Uh, sure. You're not gonna tell me?" Flamberge asked.
"What, and ruin the moment?" Mermista smirked.
"Fair enough." Flamberge said. "Let's have a great match, you two!"
"Same to you. Let's see how your strategy will fare." Emiya said.
"First to serve is Spirit Force." Magenta said.
Emiya served it into the air as Kohaku jumped and spiked it with a kick.
Flamberge saved the ball via a short bop into the air as Mermista jumped into the air and smashed it to the far side of the court out of Emiya's range.
Emiya instantly reacted as he was in front of the ball before returning it with a powerful spike.
Flamberge intercepted it as she blocked it to reduce speed and put it up in the air, before bashing it towards Kohaku's position this time as she missed it.
"Point: Team Ginova!" Magenta called.
"Oh, I get it…" Flamberge said. "You wanna isolate our plays away from Emiya."
"Yup. I got a little gossip that Emiya is a big volleyball guy, so we wanna avoid him." Mermista said.
"Got it. We'll force it all on Kohaku instead." Flamberge said.
"Okay...your serve." Magenta said as Flamberge went and served it like it was hot.
In the blink of an eye, Emiya served it back with a powerful spike.
"Nice shot but we can just use that against you!" Mermista said as she dove at it as Flamberge went and returned it to Kohaku's location.
"Not this time!" Kohaku said as she dealt a backflip kick as cherry blossoms trailed behind the ball into the air as Emiya followed up with a lightning speed spike.
"Dang...okay...so they're both pretty good." Mermista said.
"Even game. Next point wins. Spirit Force serves." Magenta said.
(Cue- The Hero Nobody Knows- Fate Extella)
Mermista and Flamberge prepared themselves for the serve.
Kohaku served it into the air as Emiya followed it up with a spike as a red streak trailed behind it.
"Whoa!" Flamberge said blocking it as she was pushed back, the ball launched into the air. Mermista took advantage and smashed it back to Kohaku and Emiya.
"I won't allow it!" Kohaku said, launching the ball into the air with a backflip kick as Emiya followed up with an Attack.
Merimsta dived to save it as she kept it in the air as Flamberge took her turn to fire back.
"Pirouette Kick!" Kohaku said, launching it back with a pirouette.
"Kohaku's left her position open! This is a chance!" Flamberge said setting the ball. "Mermista, Nail it!"
"This is over!" Mermista said spiking the ball.
"Hmph!" Emiya said, countering with a strong block as Kohaku followed up with a spike of her own.
"Nononono…!" Flamberge said trying to get it and was able to save it just in time. "Too close…!"
However, the ball was in the air between the net, as both Mermista and Emiya saw it.
"This one's mine!" Mermista said jumping into the air.
Emiya acted quickly, and executed a Quick Set to the ball.
"Wha?!" Mermista said.
"Kohaku, now!"
"Right! Senbonzakura...KICK!" Kohaku said, dealing a forward dive kick which spiked the ball. This one that neither of their opponents could get as it implanted into the sand.
"Winners! Spirit Force!" Magenta called out.
"That's my boyfriend!" Simon said.
"Well, we totally lost." Mermista said. "And here we thought we could be able to isolate you from the ball, Emiya."
"I must admit you've both nearly had us on the ropes, but you both did amazing nonetheless." Emiya said with a small grin.
"Yeah, that was pretty fun!" Kohaku said, hi-fiving Flamberge.
"It was!" Flamberge agreed.
"Okay...now for the next match! Team Indivisible vs Team Chronicle!" Magenta said.
"I gotta ask. Um...are you Emiya's younger brother or something?" Ajna asked.
"Not exactly. I'm actually his past self." Shirou explained. "To keep things simple, Emiya was summoned into the Holy Grail War as an Archer class Servant by Tohsaka, but he had an ulterior motive: to kill me and erase himself from existence, due to him becoming jaded from his ideals."
"Fortunately, Shirou here managed to get through to him, and now I'm keeping him from getting to where Archer was before." Rin finished. "Still find it weird having two Archers around, though."
"But at least we can tell them all apart." Ajna said. "Because they both have different outfits and hairstyles."
"Okay...first serve goes to Team Chronicle!" Magenta said.
Shirou made the serve, tossing up the ball and spiking it down to Indivisible's side.
"Ha!" Ajna said, setting it back into the air with an upper swing with her hands clasped together.
"Rah!" Hunoch called, following it up with a spike.
Rin moved quickly, making it to where the ball was shooting down, before she blocked it, following it up with yet another spike.
"Not gonna happen!" Ajna said, saving it with a slide kick as Hunoch setted it back into the air following with Ajna spiking it down. This time, neither of TC's reps could get to it in time, resulting in the ball bouncing on their side a couple times before coming to a stop.
"Point goes to Team Indivisible!" Magenta said.
"Fast…" Shirou said. "We'll just have to be faster then." he mused as the ball was handed off to Team Indivisible to serve.
"Okay...next serve for Team Indivisible." Magenta said.
"Bring it on." Ajna said, serving it into the air as Hunoch followed up with a spike.
Shirou dashed over to the ball and performed a dig, allowing Rin to follow up with a strike that turned the ball into a floater, giving it an erratic fall.
"So...they wanna try that on us, huh?" Hunoch said as he quickly jumped into the air as he slammed the ball down on the opposite side with a downward headbutt.
"Wow...and the winners are...Team Indivisible!" Magenta said.
"That...was incredible." Rin said.
"Well...my bro and I are pretty much the stars of this sport. We even played against the monsters of the underworld once and beat them." Hunoch said. "Well, not this sport. But they are similar in some ways."
"Then that explains quite a bit." Shirou said. "Good game, you two."
"And you guys too!" Ajna smiled.
"Now...time for the next match! Team Valkyrie vs Mythos Hearts!" Magenta called out.
"This air around the two of you… There's something peculiar about it." Oscar said.
"What's so peculiar? That we're a couple of beastmen competing for a guild that accepts all races? I see nothing strange here." Glacius said.
"It's not that. I'm hoping it's nothing but…" Oscar said.
"Don't worry too much about that, Oscar. Peculiar they may be, they are still beastmen. To underestimate them is to invite certain defeat." Teresa said.
"You are right, sister. My apologies. It just reminds me of the days we were in the Abbey." Oscar said.
"Though you are right about one thing. They hardly seem as tense as they were before. Could it have something to do with what happened that night after the Doubles Tennis tournament?" Teresa asked.
"Probably, but it's a little hard to discern." Oscar said. "In any case, we cannot let down our guard against them. We have to remain focused on the task at hand at all times."
"And Team Valkyrie has first serve." Magenta said.
Teresa makes the first serve, sending it over the net.
"Go!" they said as Esmeralda sent it high into the air as Glacius sent it down to Team Valkyrie's side with a palm strike.
"I've got it." Oscar said, quickly returning it before Teresa sets it up for him to spike.
"A spike. Now's our chance." Esmeralda said as she jumped up and knocked it back to their side.
"Point, Mythos Hearts!" Magenta said.
"If I recall...now is our turn to serve." Glacius smiled maliciously.
"Glace...you're starting to bare your fangs." Esmeralda said.
"Apologies...seems I got a little too excited." she said before serving.
Teresa manages to return it and Oscar just lets it sail over the net.
Glacius quickly dove under it as it went flying before Esmeralda spiked it.
"Oscar!" Teresa called out as she returned it before Oscar spiked it right back.
"This has become a spike war." Glacius said kicking it up as Esmeralda spiked it back.
Oscar kicks it up, which Teresa follows up with a spike of her own.
"You two are indeed powerful." Glacius said. "But...we're far beyond your level." she said as the two of them kicked it up and spiked the ball down a few inches near the two.
"And the winners are...Mythos Hearts!" Magenta said.
"As long as we continue to work together...we'll make our last day the best." Glacius said.
"Indeed." Esmeralda said.
"I sincerely hope you do. The both of you have really put everything you had to use in these events." Teresa said.
"A shame, though. We were hoping that we'd do our lady proud here. But I guess our efforts just weren't good enough." Oscar said.
"Don't be so hard on yourselves...you performed admirably." Esmeralda said kindly.
"(Since when does Es...speak like this? She's been changing ever so slowly since we got here. Could it be...because of the guild? Or maybe the failed assassination attempt. Or...could it be both?)" Glacius thought.
"You're right. We gave it the best we could. That's all that matters." Oscar said.
"Yes." Esmeralda said.
"Okay...with that...the Semifinals will now begin!" Magenta said. "Now...its Fairy Tail vs Spirit Force!"
"Well...I never would have imagined we'd find ourselves on the same battlefield." Erza said.
"Indeed." Emiya said.
"With that in mind...don't you dare hold back." Erza said.
"Now...Spirit Force serves." Magenta said.
"I don't intend to." Emiya said with a hardened gaze, serving the ball as Kohaku followed up with a powerful spike.
"Hmm…" Erza said as Wendy knocked the ball up before Erza sent it back with an even more powerful strike.
"Ha!" Emiya called, countering with a smash in the blink of an eye.
"Ha!" Erza said smashing it right back at them.
"Here I go!" Kohaku called, blocking it with her left leg as Emiya followed up with a lightning speed strike.
"Not bad...but…" Erza said before knocking it back onto their side like it was nothing. "Is this really your best?"
"This coming from Titania." Emiya said.
The match continued on for a long while before a side was decided.
"Winner...Spirit Force! 2-1!" Magenta said.
"Nicely done." Erza said.
"Same to you, I expected nothing less from the Queen of Fairies herself. You wear your title proudly." Emiya said.
"Okay...next up...we have Indivisible vs Mythos Hearts." Magenta said.
"You know, when I look at you… You remind me of someone I knew." Ajna said.
"Oh? Did someone have a pet kitty when they were little?" Glacius smirked.
"No not like that. I mean the way you act reminds me of Dhar." Ajna said.
"Ah, yes. I know about him...the guy you killed right?" Glacius said, surprising her. "Don't be shocked. I've had plenty of time to learn the background of all the contestants here."
"Yeah...I did kill him, but it was due to his sacrifice that I was able to find the resolve to do the right thing." Ajna said. "Many people stood by my side despite me being a part of Kala, and it was thanks to them I've gained the strength to continue on."
"Is that what you tell yourself? I suppose you've forgotten about that worthless waste of space in your head, haven't you?" Glacius said.
"I never have. But I don't expect someone like you to understand anyway." Ajna said.
"Someone who's a lot stronger than you?" Glacius said.
"Glace, that's enough." Esmeralda said. "I know what you are trying to do. Stop it now."
"Fine...we'll let our skill do the talking." Glacius said. "Words are a waste when actions do so much better."
"Come and get it." Ajna said as her eyes glowed gold and her hair a bright purple for a brief moment.
The match had soon started not long after that. But…
"And the winners are...Mythos Hearts! 2-0!" Magenta said.
"So that's it then." Ajna said.
"Seems that way. But...you did the best you could." Esmeralda said.
"Why are your personalities so different from when you first appeared?" Ajna asked.
"What are you talking about?" Esmeralda asked, confused.
"Ignore her. She's just trying to psyche us out. Let's prepare for the finals." Glacius said. "(She's not wrong though. Seems like ever since the games began, Es has been changing bit by bit but...am I...no. I'm overthinking this. I haven't changed once. Sooner we finish the finals...the faster we can leave this city and prepare our strategies.)" she thought.
A bronze medal exhibition match was held shortly after with Fairy Tail claiming the bronze medal. Now...came the finals.
"So...here we are." Glacius said. "Us against you two."
"So it would seem." Emiya said.
"Yes...let's both just do our best." Esmeralda said.
"These games are slowly changing you both." Emiya said.
"Quit saying that." Glacius growled as she served the ball.
"Hmph." Emiya said, returning it with a spike.
"Ha!" Esmeralda said sending it back only for Kohaku to return with a kick as it hit the sands.
"Point, Spirit Force! Now their serve!" Magenta said.
"(I suppose nothing I say will matter anyway.)" Emiya thought before serving the ball as Kohaku followed up with a kick.
"Ha!" Glacius called out, sending it down with a palm strike.
"And we have a tied game going now." Magenta said.
"You...are going down." Glacius said, serving up the ball.
"It's a little too early to proclaim that." Kohaku said, kicking it back.
"True, but we can still try!" Esmeralda said, sending it back.
"Maybe so." Emiya said, countering with a spike.
The two of them continued their exchange for a bit before the victor was soon decided.
"And our victor is...Spirit Force! 2-1!" Magenta said.
"You both did well." Emiya said.
"Thank you. We were just glad to have enjoyed this last event together." Esmeralda said.
"Yes. It was enjoyable." Glacius said.
"And with that...today's events have finally come to an end." Magenta said. "With only two days remaining, we hope to see some last minute excitement all around as everyone competes to their very best. So...until next time...bye bye!"
Later that night…
"So..this is really it? We're leaving huh?" Esmeralda said.
"Yeah...besides, we only came here to gauge Ishihara and the others and we have. In short...they are all quite powerful." Glacius said. "It will take plenty of thinking before we can take them all down."
"Yeah...let's…" Esmeralda said before hearing running.
"Don't leave!" Theo called out. "Come on…"
"We only agreed to compete on your team for a short while. Only until…" Glacius said.
"Only until you killed David right?" Theo asked, surprising the two.
"So...you overheard us?" Esmeralda asked.
"No...I knew since the first day of the games." Theo said. "I'm a little more observant ever since I was revived. But...I don't really care about why you would do such a thing. Point is...come with us. Join Mythos Hearts. As real members."
"What? You can't be serious." Glacius said.
"Theo...listen...we…" Esmeralda said before she tensed up.
"What's wrong?" Glacius asked.
"There's someone else here. Someone with a malicious scent to them." Esmeralda said.
"Right. I can feel their...oof!" Theo said before being smacked by something. "What? What hit me?" he said. "I gotta call it…" he said before something went and smashed his phone.
"Sorry...but I can't have you call for help. If you do, they might postpone the games." a figure in the shadows said.
"Your voice...we've...met before haven't we?" Theo said.
"Sorry...but this peace has to last...least until the final day." they said as a large figure rose behind the first figure as it pounced on the three of them.
