Hello, everyone. Your girl's back to update another chapter for you all. Kalego now knows about Iruma's past and his horrible parents, especially how they used to treat him before they sold him to Sullivan. Kalego has now realized that he's dealing with a heavily traumatized child who never got any type of parental love before. I don't own the canon characters as they rightfully belong to their actual owners while I only own my OC characters.
"I'll never let anyone else hurt you again,"
The words of his homeroom teacher had stuck in his head for rest of the day. Iruma could feel the genuine warmth coming from the man. The blue-haired boy felt safe when his teacher promised to never let anyone else hurt him again and making sure he has a good education at Babylus. Iruma wonders if Kalego would still keep his promise if he finds out that he's human. Would the man still accept him for who he is, or break his promise and eat him as they're natural prey and predator. The tiny boy could feel the warmth that the man had managed to give him and the gentle tone in his voice that Iruma had never heard before.
The human boy was sitting in one of the chairs at the school's library as he read another book there. Lunch will start and Kalego had allowed the students to go to the library while he was going to talk to the Chair-Demon about something important. Iruma no doubting knew that his teacher is yelling at his grandfather on the unfortunate circumstance of his adoption.
That's if Opera isn't there to keep things under control while Kalego was ready to yell at Sullivan on adopting Iruma in such a heinous way. But the man would understand after a few minutes of calming down.
Currently, Azu had to hold onto Clara since she wanted to climb the bookshelf as the most exciting ones are said to be at the top. Iruma smile as Azu tried to get her to read one of the books she could reach while the other students were telling them to be quiet.
Continuing to read his book, Iruma reading a book of how humans are seen by demons. While the book isn't wrong on human behavior towards each other and other creatures who're different from them. Humans will fear what they don't understand, often leading them to be hateful and wrathful towards it and will kill it regardless if it's a genuine threat or not.
Remembering the lessons he had managed to gather during the little time he spent at his human school, Iruma knows from the dark history of the Human World that many humans had destroyed each other for the sake of power. Colonizing other nations so their own kingdoms could grow bigger. Killing anyone just because they're a different race.
"I guess that this proves that humans are worst than demons. Even if demons don't feel anything towards someone who isn't related by them, that's only because they're driven by their instincts while humans just hate each other for the sake of it. I had my fair share of their cruelty, even though I'm one of them," Iruma said in his head as he flips through the pages.
The human boy began to thought about his late aunt. Wondering what she'll do if she had ever met a literal demon if she was still alive. Everyone who knew her always says she was such a kind person, but Iruma wonders if her kindness was only towards humans if she thought that all demons were monsters like ancient stories would tell. Now that Iruma is thinking about it, he doesn't really know anything about his aunt since she died after he was born. The only thing he knows that she was kind, but that's about it.
The only picture he has of her is back home on his nightstand. Other photos are back with his parents in the Human Realm. The blue-haired boy would often imagine Ai taking custody of him and raising him as her own son. Letting him to school like a normal kid and not letting him go to work at his young age.
"I wonder if she would have loved me," Iruma thought as he put his book away.
Once the blue-haired boy places the book back on the shelf, he walks towards the window to look outside. However, Iruma had spotted Azazel Henri walking through the school grounds. Seeing that this is his chance to talk to the man before it slips, Iruma hurry to meet Ameri's father outside.
"Iruma-chi, where are you going? Lunch hasn't started yet," Clara said as she watches her best friend getting ready to leave the library by himself.
This caught Azu's attention since Iruma has been acting strange recently. It all started since Iruma created that strange fruit tree.
Iruma stops to smile at them since they had been worried about him like his grandfather and Opera. Maybe if Henri agrees to it, they don't have to worry about him if he doesn't remember what's bothering him.
"Don't worry about it, guys. I'll meet you at the cafeteria," Iruma said to his first friends.
"Iruma-sama, would like me to company you to where you're going?" Azu asks as he was getting to leave with the blue-haired boy.
"No thanks, Azu. I'll be fine on my own," Iruma said as he left before Azu and Clara could ask where exactly he was going, much to their dismay.
Their most precious friend is hiding something from them, but he hasn't told them what it is or why he was acting strange. Iruma hasn't been eaten properly for a few days now, and that greatly worried them both. Iruma's their friend and they need to find a way to make him feel better like before.
"Azu-azu, do want to help me cook to make Iruma-chi feel better again?" Clara asks the pink-haired boy.
As much as he dislikes it, Azu decided that working together with his rival to make their friend happy is worth it.
"Very well, Valac. We're shall make the best the food that Iruma-sama has ever had!" He said before a few other students hush at him to be quiet, much to his embarrassment.
Outside
Iruma ran outside to see if Henri was still there. The redhead man wasn't easy to miss since he's extremely tall. Taller than Ameri that's for sure. The tiny human hope that Henri wasn't too busy to talk to him as being the Chief of the Demon Border Patrol is likely not an easy task that many people could manage.
"I hope I didn't miss him already. I need to talk to him," Iruma said to himself while kept looking for Henri.
As he began to think that he had missed his chance, Iruma saw the very man who might help him. Henri was about to walk inside of the school while he was holding a pink lunchbox in his hand.
"Azazel-san!" Iruma said as he ran up to the man, who was surprised to see the blue-haired child out here during school hours.
"Iruma-kun?" Henri said as the boy tried to catch his breath.
Henri wonders what the boy wanted. He still has his suspicion whatever or not that the boy is a human. Iruma didn't have the regular appearance of a demon that Henri knows of. Remembering that he once told Iruma to come to him if he needed help.
"Has he finally came to me for my help?" Henri thought as Iruma straighten himself before speaking to the man.
"Azazel-san, I'm sorry if you're busy, but I need to ask you something important," Iruma said seriously.
"So, he's finally asking me to help him return to the Human World," Henri thought.
"Very well. Tell me what's so important for you to ask me something?" The redhead man said.
Iruma took a deep breathe to finally asks the man who could erase his painful memories. However, he needed to be careful with his words, or else Henri will know that he's human.
"Can I asks about the whole erasing thing?" Iruma asks as he felt that a cloud that left him.
Henri's eyes widen for a little bit before he nodded his head in agreement.
"Is possible to erase certain parts of a person's life? Like, can they chose which memory can be erased?" Iruma asks, wanting to know how the erasing memory works first before he can ask Henri to do it.
Henri knew that Iruma was asking him if to erase his memories to forget what happened to him. The boy was asking him to erase his memories of certain parts of his life.
"Yes. The spell can erase if a person chose a certain memory to be erased from their mind. However..." Henri said as he walks closer to the boy.
"The spell can be broken if the person was under it can be trigger by something that deeply relates to the memory," The redhead man said seriously.
"Trigger... how?" Iruma asks in wonder.
"It usually happens when a person is in connect something related that is deeply cherished by them. For example, if you erased the memories of your mother and she has a favorite flower. Your erased memories of her will come back if you smell them. The spell will then be broken and your memories will slowly but surely come back to you. However, it might take months for you to fully remember them," Henri said to the blue-haired boy.
Iruma was amazed to know that anything related to a person he cares about will bring back his memories. However, nothing will be his memories of his parents as there's nothing cherished that related to them that will make him remember them again. This is a good thing then. That means he won't end up regretting having his memories being erased from his mind.
"Can I also ask another thing, sir?" Iruma asks.
Henri nodded.
"Can a human stay here forever for the rest of their life?" Iruma asks the man.
Thanks for reading this, everyone. I hope I did a great job of explaining the memory spell here. Iruma finally asks Henri about the important detail of the spell before asking him to erase his own memories. Iruma even thinks he won't regret erasing his memories of his old life. Should I do a flashback in a chapter whereof either Iruma and his parents or Kalego and his lover?
