Thousands of miles away and with a vast time difference, Chandler struggles to adjust to life in Asia. His work will allow him to move around a lot in the region as he takes on his job as head of their Asia Pacific offices in Japan, Hongkong, the Philippines and Singapore. He is quite young to be taking on a job like this but he acknowledges that he is good at it and that his bosses think so, too.

He figured he would be so busy setting up these companies that he wouldn't have time to sulk in a corner and be sad. He doesn't even know why he is sad, he just knows that it has something to do with Monica. He misses all of his friends but it is Monica that he misses the most. He misses her long before he accepted that promotion. It is probably ironic that he accepted that promotion because he misses her.

Now, standing by the window of his hotel room, he thought about how he is already ending the day while his friends are just starting theirs right that moment. It has been weeks and he has not called them yet. Well, it's partly because the phones are newly-assigned to their office but mostly because he is worried that if he hears them, he would pack his bags and return to New York. But he has to call them. He doesn't want them to worry.

With hesitation, he dialed the number to Apartment 20. Hi! You have reached Monica and Rachel's. Please leave a message after the beep…

Hey, guys! Someone picks up the phone.

Chandler!

Wait, I'll have to put you on speaker.

Chandler! everyone's voice sounded thrilled to hear his voice again.

How are you man? What took you so long to call?

Oh, the phone here's just…Well, is everyone there?

Yeah! We're here! Rachel replied…Chandler trying his hardest to hear that one particular voice among the chorus.

Hey, Chandler, some of us have to go to work, you know, but please do call again, I mean you know our schedules.

Okay, I understand!

We miss you, Chandler!

I miss you, too!

The call ended just like that.

Rachel, why did you tell Chandler we were all here?

Well, you heard his voice. He sounded so sad. I don't want him to sound even sadder.

You have a point. So how is Monica doing?

She's in her bedroom the whole day. She only comes out to go to the bathroom. She has not come out of the house for days, she's really depressed, Phoebe. I'm getting worried about her.

She's really taking her breakup with Richard so hard, huh?

Yeah, I guess so.

And with her still looking for job makes it more difficult.

Yeah, Pheebs. But she's Monica, I know she can handle this. It's just gonna take some time I guess.

She is not in the mood to do anything for weeks. She is not in the mood to talk. She is just thankful that her friends are giving her some space to be by herself.

She doesn't have a job. She just broke up with Richard. And Chandler is in Asia. It felt like everything connived to make her feel this miserable. But I gotta get up. I can't let these things defeat me! Starting tomorrow, I am going to be okay!

Hey, Monica! You're up! the group in shock as they saw Monica fixing breakfast that morning.

Yes, I am!… Thank you, guys for being there for me even if I was… you know…. Hey, did Chandler call yet?

Yes, he did! Rachel answered.

He did? Why didn't you call me?

Well, you know why.

Well, did he leave a number? Can we call him?

Yeah, the number's in that notepad.

Okay, good! Thanks!

When everybody left, Monica decided to give Chandler a call. In the middle of her third try, she realized that it was past office hours and Chandler could already be home but was pleasantly surprised when someone spoke on the other line.

Good evening, Mr. Bing's office. May I help you? It was the voice of a lady taking the call.

Good evening! Hi! May I speak with Chan- oh Mr. Bing, please?

Oh, I'm sorry, Ma'am but he's already left. Would you like to leave a message? I'm Maggie, his secretary, by the way.

Oh, ahm…can you please just tell him that Monica Geller called?

Okay, Ma'am. I'll make sure he gets the message.

Okay, thanks! Bye.

The office meeting just ended when Maggie approached Chandler and started a conversation.

So, Mr. Bing, how do you like working here so far?

Well, it's been challenging but exciting, you know.

So, have you explored the country yet?

No, not yet. But maybe I will soon.

So, anyone special you left back in New York?

Chandler was caught by surprise with that question. Wwh-what?

Is it by chance, Monica Geller?

Wwh-what?

So, there is someone special! You should see yourself light up when you heard that name!

Hh-how do you know her?

And it is Monica Geller!… Well, she called here last night looking for you.

Chandler looked at his watch that says 2 pm, which means that Monica is still fast asleep at this time.

So, how long have you two been together?

Oh, we? Too long, you know. We've been friends a long time.

So is she the one in the picture on your desk?

Yes.

Wow, she's really pretty!

Chandler recalling her face in his head - Oh, she is gorgeous! And amazing, and smart and kind….

Wow, Mr. Bing. I wish my boyfriend could say the same thing about me! Both of them laughing as Chandler proceeded to his office and his secretary to a table just outside of it.
