Hi, Lunchies! Dark, dark, darkety dark, from here on out...

"Thor?" Loki smiled nervously up at his brother. Thor gazed at Loki for a few seconds, his face unmoving, as if he recognized Loki, but couldn't care less about him. Then he trudged forward, shoving Loki out of the way, into a nearby snowdrift.

The moment Loki's face hit the snow, a tiny part of him died. Thor didn't care. Sans and Papyrus immediately ran over to him, and dug him out of the snow. "ARE YOU ALRIGHT, BROTHER?" Papyrus gasped.

"Stop him!" Loki sputtered, scrambling after his brother. "Please! I have to get him to understand!"

Sans shook his head morosely. "He's gone, kid. Figuratively and literally."

"DID YOU SEE HOW MUCH DUST WAS ON HIS HANDS?!" Papyrus gagged in horror.

"I'm sure he's in there, somewhere!" Loki insisted, brushing the snow off his pants. "He's got to be… right?"

The two skeletons were silent, behind him.

"MAYBE THE PUZZLES WILL STOP HIM!" Papyrus suggested optimistically.

Loki could only nod, and hope for the best.

"Paps, you got everyone safely to Alphys' lab?" Sans glanced up at his brother.

"I THINK SO!" The taller skeleton nodded. "I TOLD EVERYONE WHAT WAS GOING ON, AND I HELPED SOME OF THE SMALLER ONES TO THE FERRY. THEY OUGHT TO BE ON THEIR WAY TO ALPHYS, RIGHT NOW!"

"Wait…" Loki breathed. "What about the monster child?"

"Which one?" Sans glanced sharply over at Loki. "Wait, Monster Kid?"

Loki nodded. There was a moment of horrified silence, before Sans disappeared in a flash of blue light. Papyrus and Loki glanced at each other, then took off through the snow to catch up to the smaller skeleton. They searched everywhere, throughout Snowdin, but couldn't find him anywhere. Sans appeared behind them, suddenly, out of breath, when they'd rounded back, and returned to his outpost. "Guys… the kid's following Thor around… doesn't realize who he is…"

"No…" Loki's jaw dropped in horror.

"Couldn't… catch up… to them…" Sans panted. "They're moving too fast…"

"I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL RESCUE THE CHILD!" Papyrus declared, cape flapping dramatically in the wind.

Sans nodded. "Sounds good. I'll go to the lab, and get Undyne and Mettaton out here to stop him. Loki, you stay with Papyrus. If anything happens during the FIGHT, get him somewhere safe."

"I DON'T NEED A BABYSITTER!" Papyrus protested, but Sans looked up at his brother, his pupils disappearing.

"Papyrus." Sans warned.

The taller skeleton was uncharacteristically silent. "Okay." He complied. Sans gave them both an encouraging grin, then disappeared, once more.

As they trudged through the snow, towards the end of the town, to stop Thor when he came out, they couldn't help but notice the huge amount of dust on the snow. Papyrus almost looked a little nervous as they passed the canine divisions sentry posts. There was nothing left of them but dust. Loki shivered, and kept his eyes fixed before him. They passed through the town of Snowdin, the typically cheery houses darkened and quiet. Dust splattered against the walls of the buildings. "HOW IS HE DOING THIS SO QUICKLY?" Papyrus wondered, his face twisted in revulsion.

"He's always been surprisingly efficient…" Loki ruefully remarked, stepping over a pile of dust.

They walked out of town, where the bitter cold shifted Loki to his natural form, again. It was so cold, out here, that his eyelashes froze together, and his vision was slightly obscured by a haze of white frost.

"HE HAS TO PASS THROUGH HERE TO CONTINUE." Papyrus informed. "YOU'RE NOT TOO COLD, ARE YOU?"

"My body's built for this amount of chill." Loki replied. "I'm fine."

They were silent for a few seconds, before there was a distant crunch of boots in snow. Only one set of footprints, though… what had happened to the poor child?

Thor's silhouette became visible through the snow, and Loki straightened confidently.

"Brother!" He called, with more confidence than he felt. "We will not let you pass, here."

Thor made no reply, simply took a few steps closer.

"WE BELIEVE IN YOU, THOR!" Papyrus enthused. "WE KNOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS!"

No answer. Thor stepped closer.

"Talk to me, Thor!" Loki begged. "You could always talk to me."

Thor's glowing, red eyes met Loki's, and after a moment of awful silence, his face twisted into a sadistic smirk. He had identified Loki as a monster.

They had no choice but to FIGHT him.

Thor's attack, mainly consisting of lightening bolts, came flying towards the two of them. Loki was able to dodge most of them, but one of them badly singed his shoulder. "Thor, please!" He begged. "Listen to me! Do you want to kill me? Really?"

Thor only laughed darkly, the thrill of the fight rushing to his head. Papyrus was badly hit, and Loki handed him the spider donut he'd bought in the Ruins toward him. "Eat, you'll feel better." Papyrus nodded, and stuffed the donut into his face.

"You give up this poisonous dream, brother!" Loki demanded. "Come home!"

Thor made no answer, but swung a fist with deadly precision towards Papyrus' head. Loki screamed, and flying tackled Papyrus into the snow.

"LOKI, WE HAVE TO STOP HIM!" Papyrus protested, but the Trickster remembered his promise to Sans. Grabbing the skeleton by his wrist bones, Loki fled.

Later, Loki sat in the lab beneath the lab, or, as Alphys called it, the True Lab. Strange, seemingly liquid creatures roamed the halls, and they were rather tightly packed. All the monsters Papyrus had been able to warn were huddled down here, waiting for Thor to pass them by. Undyne had gone out to fight him, and had left Undyne with her phone number, in case something went wrong on either side. Alphys had updated the device, so that it was equipped with something she called "texting", and, while Undyne waited to ambush Thor in Waterfall, they were messaging each other.

Loki: So, what's your special ATTACK?

Undyne: Spears. You name a spear, I've got it.

Undyne: I have spears that will randomly switch directions, and fly at you from the opposite side.

Undyne: That, and I can totally immobilize a SOUL.

Loki: Fancy…

Loki: All I've got is the ATTACK Woshua taught me, and I'm not the best at that.

Undyne: You can't defeat an enemy by healing him.

Loki: No, but I can heal those who are injured, and actually want to kill him.

Undyne: You don't want him to stop?

Loki: I want him to stop, I don't want him dead.

Undyne: You might have to consider that you can't have one without the other.

Undyne: Ask one of the skelebros to teach you their ATTACK. You'll be safer that way.

Loki: I've seen their ATTACK, and it's frightfully easy to evade. All you have to do is not move.

Undyne: Then try the robot.

Loki: I already know how to throw eggs.

Undyne: Fuhuhuhu, I mean, his actual ATTACK is pretty good. He's got bombs, and stuff.

Undyne: Have you seen what Sans does?

Undyne: He's got this thing called a Gaster Blaster. Might wanna check it out.

Loki got up, and confronted the smaller skeleton, who was napping under one of the tables. "Sans…"

"Yep?" Sans opened one eye.

"Do you think you could teach me your ATTACK?" He smiled hopefully.

Sans hesitated. "You mean, the bone thing?"

"No, the… Gaster Blasters."

Sans was wide awake, now. "Who told you about those?"

Loki shrugged. "I don't know what they do, or anything, but Undyne thought I needed a more resilient ATTACK, and she told me the name. Nothing more."

Sans shook his head. "Sorry, I… I'm really protective of my blasters. My dad gave those to me, and I don't want anything happening to them."

"Alright, I understand." Loki nodded. "Sleep well."

Loki: No such luck.

Loki: I have daggers, but…

Undyne: Shut up, real quick.

Loki's eyebrows shot up to his hairline. That was uncharacteristically rude of her. He was silent for a moment, staring down at his phone, perplexed.

Undyne: Sorry, I thought I heard something.

Undyne: It was the kid, I'm sending him back your way.

Loki: THANK YOU.

Undyne: NO PROBLEM, PUNK

Loki: WHY ARE WE SHOUTING?

Undyne: IM A LOUD PERSON, DEAL WITH IT

Undyne: AND YOU STARTED IT!

Loki: Well, I was extremely thankful. I was rather worried about that child.

Undyne: I WANNA KEEP SHOUTING

Loki: VERY WELL

Undyne: NGAAAAAAAAAAH!

Loki: I'm not sure where to go with that…

Undyne: Fuhuhu, you're hilarious, you know that?

Loki: I try…

Undyne: You were saying?

Undyne: before we started yelling?

Loki: I have daggers…

Undyne: Cool. Think you could use them in a FIGHT?

Loki: I could try.

Undyne: That's all I ask.

Loki sighed in frustration. He didn't like being down here, in the True Lab, it made him feel helpless. He knew he could help, if he was out there. He could defend himself, and probably help Undyne, too. Tapping his foot on the floor impatiently, he tried not to feel pointless. He knew he was safer down here. He also knew facing Thor would most likely result in his end. He still cared for Thor, and that was weakness on the battlefield.

However, he knew Thor's attack method far better than anyone here. If he were to help, he could actually do something. Sitting here, he couldn't. He was just another bump on a log.

Loki: I'm coming out to help you. Meet you on the bridge.

Undyne: Wait, what?

Undyne: You can't! You'll get hurt!

Undyne: Loki!

Undyne: ANSWER ME, YOU NERD!

Undyne: DO NOT COME OUT HERE!

Undyne: IF YOU COME OUT HERE, I WILL PERSONALLY TACKLE YOU AND DO VERY UNPLEASANT THINGS TO YOUR SPLEEN!

Undyne: I WILL USE YOU AS A SPEAR-PINCUSHION, AND BRAID YOUR HAIR SO TIGHT YOU CAN'T MOVE YOUR EYEBROWS!

Undyne: Maybe not that last one, but STILL!

Undyne: DO U HEAR ME, LOKI?

Undyne: I WILL!

That was when Loki figured out how to turn off the phone. With that, the Trickster jumped to his feet, wove his way through the crowds, and hopped into the elevator.

I love how Undyne says "fuhuhuhu" instead of "lol".
