Chapter 29
Total Chaos: The Messy Love Rectangle
"For today, there's only a ten percent chance of rain in the forecast," a weatherman said on the radio.
But it suddenly began to rain harshly as Makoto raced through the downpour with her bag over her head.
"Oh brother! You can never trust those weather forecasters! I'd certainly call this less than a ten percent chance of rain!" she complained, until she ran right smack into Motoki.
"DARN IT! Why don't you watch where you're going!" she snapped at him.
'Sorry," replied Motoki.
"If sorry resolved things we wouldn't need-" Makoto was about to say.
"That's enough, Makoto!" Terra said in a tone of voice that brooked no arguments.
Makoto stopped, and turned to face him.
"I apologize for Miss Kino's behavior, Motoki," he said.
"It's all right, let me help her up," replied Motoki, as he extended his hand to Makoto.
"Thanks," she said, and was gently pulled to her feet.
"I'm sorry about that. I had a lot of things on my mind. I wasn't watching it. You don't have an umbrella. You're gonna get soaking wet in this downpour. Why not share mine, until it lights up?" he said quickly.
But Makoto began to have that distant look in her eyes, until Terra gently rested his hand upon her shoulder.
"Is something wrong Makoto?" he asked.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Terra," she said.
"Don't be. Let's go," Motoki said.
Then the three of them walked down the rain soaked streets.
"Um, I heard you're a fabulous cook. Is that true?" asked Motoki.
"'I guess," replied Makoto.
"That's cool. One of these days you'll have to make me something," said Motoki.
"I'd love to, anytime. I could clean your place too. I'm really good at it," smiled Makoto.
"That would be a huge help," grinned Motoki.
Then Makoto reached into her school bag, and pulled out her notebook and pencil.
"Here, write down your address, and phone number, and list your favorite foods as well," she said.
Motoki wasn't sure why Makoto was now being friendly, but he complied with her request.
"Done. Mako, you sure are interesting," he said.
"Yeah, I get that a lot," replied Makoto.
She took back the notebook, and saw that he liked Hayashi rise, just as the rain stopped.
"I wish the rain hadn't stopped," she said sadly.
Motoki glanced back at her, as he closed his umbrella, but she laughed nervously, while Terra chuckled.
"Sorry, guys. I have to drop by the school for a little while," he said.
"Understood," replied Terra.
"But, I'm gonna come over to your place Sunday, and make Hayashi Rice for you. Gotta go, buh-bye" added Makoto, and she and Terra soon hurried off.
"Looks like you and that cute girl are quite friendly," a voice said from behind as she saw them leave.
Motoki turned around to see that it was Reika Nishimura.
"Mamoru was talking about someone having a girlfriend. I guess he meant you," she said.
"Ah, give me a break," replied Motoki.
"I'm just kidding," chuckled Reika.
"I know. So, seeing how you're dressed, it appears you're about to cancel our date again," said Motoki.
"I'm so sorry, I'm going to be working really late," Reika replied apologetically.
"No worries. Or as Sora would say, 'Hakuna Matata.' But, more importantly, have you reached a decision yet?" Motoki asked assuredly.
"No, I'm still working on it," answered Reika.
"Take the time you need. It's going to be affecting the rest of your life. So, you wanna make sure you've made the right decision," smiled Motoki.
"You're so sweet. Thank you," Reika said, her eyes slowly filling with tears, as Motoki was starting to worry about her.
"Hey, you two. What's up?" said Mamoru, who had arrived.
"Oh, Mamoru, we didn't see you there," replied Reika.
Suddenly, her watch beeped.
"Sorry, gotta run," she said.
But Reika glanced at Mamoru.
"Mamoru, can you do me a favor and take my guy out for some coffee?" she asked.
Then she hurried away.
"I'll call you later," Reika said to Motoki.
Motoki sighed quietly to himself, as he and Mamoru, left for the coffee shop.
"Something's bothering you. What's up?" Mamoru asked his friend.
"It's Reika, there's a possibility that she'll be going to Africa to pursue her research study," replied Motoki.
"Africa, what kind of research would require her to move there?" inquired Mamoru.
"Ah, that's where the impressive part comes in lads. She'll be exploring the very place in this world where life might have started so many years ago," said Scrooge McDuck who had arrived.
"So now, what's the plan?" Mamoru asked.
"Not sure, she can't make up her mind yet," replied Motoki.
"Aye, but what is that you really want laddie?" asked Scrooge.
"Well, I wanted her to stay here with me. But, I just can't be that selfish and get in the way of her future," Motoki said.
"Why not listen to Sora's advice, Motoki? If anyone can acknowledge one's decisions, it's him laddie," remarked Scrooge.
"Hey, by the way. Are you a big fan of Hayashi Rice?" Motoki asked them.
"Sure, why do you ask?" replied Mamoru.
"Because Mako said she was gonna come over to my place, to make a whole batch of it. Why don't you two come by for a taste?" said Motoki.
"You're referring to Makoto Kino, aren't you, laddie?" replied Scrooge.
"Yeah, but she's Usagi's friend. I'm sure you're aware that Usagi has eyes for you, right?" added Mamoru.
"Sure, but both of them are pretty cute," explained Motoki.
"But, a minute ago we were talking about Reika. I got the impression you were hung up on her," replied Mamoru.
"I'm not about to hook up with a middle school girl. They're cute, but you got me all wrong. I think of Mako and Usagi as little sisters to me," assured Motoki.
"Little sisters, huh?" said Mamoru, his mind completely blown away by this news.
By the next day, Makoto arrived with Sora at Motoki's house, and knocked on the door.
"Who's there?" asked Motoki.
Makoto took a deep breath, and composed herself.
'Hey, good morning Motoki. It's me Makoto Kino, and I've brought my friend Sora with me," she said.
"Just a minute," replied Motoki as he struggled with the locks on his door.
He carefully opened it to see them.
"Hey, you guys. What brings you here?" he asked.
"Stand clear, we're coming in!" she said bravely, and walked inside.
"Oh boy," muttered Sora, as he followed her.
"Uh, the place is a mess," Motoki said quickly.
"No problem, guys don't clean up a lot. Or in your case, not at all, and this is pretty bad," replied Makoto, as she looked around.
"If you want to blame someone who's a bit messy, blame Ruby Rose," said Sora.
Then Makoto soon put on a headband and got herself pumped up.
""Let's do this!" she said with pride.
"Let's do what, now?" Motoki asked in confusion.
"You know what, clean up this big mess, of course! Now if I don't do this in thirty minutes, I'll be late for school! So, let's go!" she replied.
As true as her word, Makoto set to work cleaning up Motoki's apartment, until it was spotless. But she suddenly glanced at a picture of Motoki and Reika upon the book case.
"Who's this girl with you?" she asked.
"Oh her? Well, that's Reika," replied Motoki.
"Judging from this picture, both Makoto and I see that she's not your sibling," said Sora.
"No," replied Motoki.
"She must be your girlfriend, right!?" cried Makoto.
"Uh, yeah," admitted Motoki, making Makoto upset.
Sometime later, Makoto and Sora arrived at Juban Middle School when Luna showed up to see them behind the tree.
"It's unusual to see you looking so sad, Mako," said Luna.
"What's going on? A depressed face will give you wrinkles," giggled Usagi, as she joined them.
"Now's not the time for jokes, Usagi. Besides, you don't want to force Makoto to show you her darker side," warned Sora, making Makoto glance worriedly at him.
"Geez, Sora, what's gotten into you?" asked Luna.
"Yeah, you don't need to get that upset. Think of me as Mako's personal cupid! I"m here to make things right," agreed Usagi.
"I think it would be a better Idea to work on your own love issues first," said Luna.
"I wouldn't bet on that Luna. We should let Usagi here try to cheer Makoto up first," piped in Riku, who had arrived.
"Anyway, Motoki left another scar on Makoto's heart, just like You-know-who," said Sora.
Usagi was aghast.
"Do you really have to be so shocked?" asked Makoto.
"I see, that's why. But Usagi's also in love with the guy as well, along with Tuxedo Mask," said Roxas.
"What, she likes him too?" gasped Makoto.
"Unfortunately, she is, Makoto. But she also loves Tuxedo Mask. Therefore she must choose only one, or she will have nothing. That's the reality of love, and we must accept it no matter how much we deny it," Terra answered in Usagi's stead.
"Terra's right! If Mako had her heart broken by Motoki, that could only mean one thing. Motoki has chosen someone else to be her girlfriend," said Usagi.
"That's right. But instead, it's not you Usagi. It's someone called Reika Nishimura, who's heart is torn between going to Africa, and staying with Motoki," added Sora.
"Wow, good observation Sora," smiled Makoto.
"What!?" cried Usagi.
"Now hold on Usagi. I know it's hard for you to accept it, but you know that Motoki would never turn his back or sever his bond with you whatsoever," said Mickey.
"Mickey's right. You shouldn't quit that easily. So what if he already has a girlfriend. Even if we get rejected, it's not like he'd sever his connection with us," agreed Makoto.
"Uh-huh. Now wipe those tears, Usagi. After all you and Makoto are heroes of light, and want to make sure that both Motoki and Reika are happy, no matter what," said Goofy.
"You said it, Goofy. And if we don't fight there's no tomorrow!" replied Usagi and Makoto.
"Why do I get the feeling there's no tomorrow no matter what?" sighed Luna.
They soon set off to the arcade, with their friends by their side.
"Let's do this!" Usagi said determinedly.
"And whoever wins, no hard feelings, right?" replied Makoto.
"Uh, guys, I don't think this is a good idea," Sora tried to say, when Mamoru arrived.
"Hey, what are you all up to?" he asked.
"Back off you big palooka!" quacked Donald.
"Bunhead and Bigfoot together. Let me guess, you're here to confess your love to Motoki," he said.
"Yeah, well, I'm already aware that Reika's his girlfriend thanks to the picture I saw. Also, what Usagi and Makoto are up to, isn't really something you should stick your nose in," replied Sora.
"Thank you, Sora, we now have rant saved for later," said Usagi.
"Yeah, thanks Sora," added Makoto.
"Sometimes the truth hurts, Mamoru. Even if Motoki thinks of them as younger siblings, and nothing more, he'd never sever his bond with them. And that's a fact that Sora can accept with all his heart." Riku said to Mamoru.
"Ah, I see. And since Sora believes that, he can ask him of his own accord," replied Mamoru.
"You rotten-!" snapped Sora.
"Stop it, Sora! He's not worth it!" Usagi said, shaking her head slowly.
"I hate to say it, but Usagi makes a valid point, Sora. Besides, you did warn Usagi that she didn't want to see my darker side," added Makoto.
"Yeah, I guess," sighed Sora.
Then he turned to Usagi.
"We'll go talk to Motoki," he said.
"Good luck!" called Mamoru.
They soon went inside the arcade looking for Motoki, but to their shock, one of the employees said that he wasn't there, making them disappointed.
"Do you guys know Motoki?" Mamoru asked the others.
"Yeah, well, isn't it obvious?" replied Riku.
The two guys chuckled amongst each other.
"But maybe if she leaves to study abroad, you might still have a fighting chance," said Mamoru.
"What!? She's going away?" gasped Makoto.
She grabbed Mamoru's throat.
"Give me details! When is she leaving!?" she demanded.
"Wait Makoto!" cried Terra.
She soon let go of Mamoru's throat, making him collapse to the ground.
"I shouldn't have said anything," he panted.
"Guess I got carried away," she admitted.
Inside the Dark Kingdom, Zoisite now had the crystal ready, and soon saw Reika projected before him when Kunzite arrived.
"Our next target is this young lady, a student of the Azabu institute of technology," the blonde warlord said.
"And she's quite lovely too," added Kunzite.
"Indeed, Kunzite. But don't forget that you have the power darkness on your side," replied Maleficent.
"I agree with Maleficent, how can Kunzite say that she's more lovely than me!? Underneath she's just an ugly monster!" cried Zoisite.
"How about taking a chill-pill Zoisite? You know that Kunzite is messing with you, Zoisite," said Pete.
"Pete's right, don't let envy ruin your beautiful face," agreed Kunzite, as he produced a rose for him.
"But don't forget your place, as a soldier of the Dark Kingdom," warned Sephiroth.
"Yes, this rose can't compare with the beauty of your face," smirked Kunzite.
"Thank you my dear, in return I will bring you the Rainbow Crystal," replied Zoisite as he accepted it.
That night, at the Azabu Institute of Technology, Makoto and Sora stood out by the front gate, waiting for Reika.
"I've come here to encourage Reika to study abroad, but now that I'm here, what can I possibly say to her?" she asked.
"The one thing you can do, is to never say how you're feeling, but to say what Reika wants to hear," replied Sora.
"Tomorrow, let's try raising the temperature of the specimen a bit more," suggested Reika, as Sora whispered, "Oh, that's her." to Makoto.
"Yes that would be interesting," said a scientist.
"See you tomorrow," she said.
"Right, good night," he replied, as she left the institute.
"Excuse us, can we talk?" Makoto asked.
"Oh, you were with Motoki the other day," said Reika.
Then she glanced at Sora.
"Also, who's your friend?" she asked.
"Oh, uh… My name's Sora. Nice to meet you Miss Nishimura," replied Sora.
"Call me Reika," giggled Reika.
"Gotcha," said Sora.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" she asked, as they sat on a park bench.
"Are you going to study abroad, Reika?" replied Makoto.
"My news travels fast. Did Motoki tell you that?" inquired Reika.
"Please don't avoid the subject," interjected Makoto.
"I don't know," she said somberly.
Makoto and Sora were confused.
"I can't decide. There's a professor I'd like to meet and work with in Africa, but I'm having trouble bringing myself to leave Motoki," she admitted.
"Hakuna Matata!" said Sora.
"What?" asked Reika.
"Ha-ku-na Ma-ta-ta! It's something I've learned that means 'No Worries.' I know that Motoki would never stop you from going to Africa. But, I can sense that there's conflict in your hearts. What's more important is to try and press on, no matter how much doubt you have in your hearts. You can't be held back by that feeling. However, I'm gonna be honest with you. Just stressing about what you wanna do, won't help you make a decision. But, I believe in you Reika, and Motoki feels the same way. That proves that you care about each other. You know I'm right, Reika. I too have a strong bond with Motoki, because I'm his friend. And when we first met, my heart connected to your heart through him. And our bond is like an unbreakable chain of light. That means our meeting was no coincidence. And whenever I see someone is feeling conflicted, about wanting to follow their heart or staying with someone, it really hurts me. So there's no way you should be torn about going to Africa or staying with Motoki. And Motoki knows that too. He wants you to do your best when you study abroad. And I'll make sure he supports you, no matter how far away you may be. You might not see each other for a while, but you'll never forget each other. No matter how far away you are, your hearts will bring you together again. That's why Motoki will always cheer for you with his heart, and you can cheer for him with your heart. But always remember, that your connection will never waver," explained Sora.
"Wow, Sora, that was really powerful. Do you always act like this when you're around girls?" asked Makoto.
"Aw, cut it out. Like you would try and be persuasive with Reika," replied Sora.
"I know, but the way you spoke made me see you in a different light," said Makoto.
"Come on," Sora said, running his finger under his nose.
Reika, however, couldn't help but laugh.
"There! that's it! That's the Reika, Motoki knows! But look Reika, if you're still feeling conflicted about your decisions, I can understand if you need more time. But I'm certain the rest of Motoki's friends can understand. But if he's still unsure about letting you stay or go to broaden your horizons, don't worry cause, I'll be there- to help! And no matter what happens, we'll still acknowledge your decision, for all time," Sora said to Reika.
"Thank you," replied Reika, as Makoto suddenly felt a tear rolling down her cheek.
She could definitely see how much Sora reminded her of Usagi instead of her previous boyfriend. The next day, Makoto, Sora, Usagi and Luna, were now walking to Motoki's apartment.
"You know the way pretty well, Mako," Usagi said.
"Yeah, well, there's something else, Usagi," replied Makoto.
"What's that?" asked Usagi.
"Sora did something I never expected to see. He started acting supportive to Reika, and I'm not gonna lie, but he's far more different from that guy I told you about, from back then. And also, he started to remind me of you," answered Makoto.
"That's right, Usagi. Even though you're a Sailor Guardian, and I'm a Keyblade Master, I am who I am, because of my friends," said Sora.
Usagi was surprised, until she felt a tear rolling down her cheek, but she quickly wiped it away.
"Where'd that come from?" she asked.
But they respectfully dismissed it, until they reached Motoki's apartment.
"Hey, thanks for dropping by, you guys. Come on in," he said, as he saw them.
"Wow, it's as tidy as I imagined it'd be," cried Usagi.
"You can thank Makoto for that. She's been pretty instrumental in making it tidy. But right now, We got a meal to prepare for Motoki. But, I didn't bring Little Chef along to help out. Which means we gotta follow Makoto's instructions carefully," said Sora.
"Hey, don't worry Sora. You and Usagi got this," Motoki assured him.
"Thank you," the two friends said.
"All right, let's do this!" cheered Usagi.
"So, what's our first step, Makoto?" asked Sora.
"First, peel the carrots," said Makoto.
"I'm not really a good peeler," replied Usagi.
Then you can dice up all the onions," suggested Makoto.
"I can't, they'll make my eyes water," cried Usagi.
"Then cook up the rice!" Makoto said, growing furious.
"Wait a second, Makoto! I forgot to tell you that Usagi has no idea how to cook!" piped in Sora.
But Makoto smacked Usagi upside her head, and continued anyway, when the phone rang.
"Hello," he said.
Sora, Makoto, and Usagi stopped what they were doing, so they could overhear him.
"Reika?" he asked.
Motoki, I know it's taken me awhile, But I finally made up my mind about going to Africa," Reika replied, in a solemn tone.
"What? I couldn't hear what you said," said Motoki.
"I've made my decision. I want to see you, tonight," replied Reika.
"Okay, I'll come as soon as I can," Motoki assured her.
Usagi was surprised, but she, Makoto, and Sora quickly retreated back to the kitchen, as he hung up
"Guys, I'm very sorry to have to do this to you," he said.
"Well, don't keep her waiting. Hurry back," replied Usagi.
"You were listening?" asked Motoki.
"Of course we were, Motoki. But, I can sense that, Reika's sad about leaving and going to Africa," replied Sora.
"What's with you, Sora?" muttered Makoto.
"Could you watch the place while I'm away?" Motoki asked the girls, as he and Sora walked out.
"Agh! I just cut my finger!" cried Usagi.
Makoto sighed, but they still managed to finish making final preparations for the meal. As they waited, they could see the sun starting to set as they waited for him.
"He's still not back yet," sighed Makoto.
"No wonder I haven't seen them for hours. They're still here," Luna said when she found them.
But she suddenly noticed a blinking light in Usagi's purse, indicating that her Moon Stick was reacting to another Rainbow Crystal.
"Oh no, there must be another Rainbow Crystal nearby," cried the cat.
She lunged at the window, as she told them to transform into their Sailor Guardian forms, which made Usagi awaken from her brief little nap.
"Great, first Motoki leaves, and now this! I've had it!" snapped Motoki.
"Yeah, who does he think he is, leaving two pretty girls alone to watch his house?! That's no way to treat us!" agreed Usagi.
"Usagi!" yowled Luna.
I'm kidding!" she replied, and together she and Makot became Sailors Moon and Jupiter.
They both agreed to find Motoki and Reika, who had come face to face with Zoisite. Motoki bravely stood his ground as they were surrounded by burning flames in a circular pattern.
"How very brave of you. But it's a waste of effort, now move aside!" smirked Zoisite.
Motoki charged furiously at the warlord, in an attempt to strike him down, while Sora fought the Heartless he had summoned to keep him busy.
"What a barbarian!" he scoffed, and blasted him back.
Reika was so shocked, she ran to his side, dodging the Heartless that tried to pounce her.
"Oh, how sweet," sneered Zoisite.
"You monster!" cried Reika.
"Well now, it takes one to know one. You're a monster yourself, and I need the real you one of the seven Great Monsters," explained the warlord.
"I'm one of the seven Great Monsters?" gasped Reika.
"That's correct. Now, pay close attention," replied Zoisite.
"Zoisite! I won't let you do this!" shouted Sora, as he charged towards him.
"Stubborn fool, know your place!" shouted Zoisite, summoning more Heartless to keep Sora busy.
Then he summoned the Dark Crystal, and began channeling it's dark power to affect Reika. With a loud cry, Reika's Rainbow Crystal flew towards Zoisite's hand, as she changed into a vicious creature of darkness.
"I am Rikoukeidar!" she announced, just as Sailors Moon and Jupiter arrived.
"No, we're too late!" cried Sailor Moon.
"Is that really Reika?" asked Sailor Jupiter.
"Yeah, Zoisite got her Rainbow Crystal!" replied Sora.
"Listen you guys, you need to be very careful!" warned Luna.
Quick as a flash, Sora sent an emergency flare up into the sky, to rally the rest of their friends to his side.
"I am the Pretty Guardian, who fights for love and for justice! I am Sailor Moon!" cried Sailor Moon.
"Today we're not the same as usual! We're ten thousand volts of heart rate power looking for a boyfriend!" they said together
"Not you too, Mako," groaned Luna.
"In the name of the moon, I'm punishing you!" declare Sailor Moon.
"Girls without boyfriends are pathetic," retorted the now changed Reika.
"Think again Reika! I hold no hatred to you for dashing their hopes! But, I know what it means to share my heart with others! And it will take more than you, to stop these girls from achieving their goal!" said Sora.
"Shut up!" snapped Rokoukeitar, flinging a capsule at him, which Sora dodged out of the way, and charged right at his foe.
Above, Zoisite gloated at his prize, until something knocked it out of his hand. He turned to see Tuxedo Mask leap down to collect it.
"You're forever butting in where you're not wanted!" he scowled.
"I'm not about to let you have the Rainbow Crystals!" retorted the caped crusader.
"Keep him occupied, Tuxedo Mask! We'll take care of Reika!" called Sora.
"We were just thinking the same thing!" agreed Sailor Moon.
Rikoukeitar then began flinging more capsules at them, forcing them to dance about, until one of them landed near Usagi's feet. To her shock and disgust a swarm of strange creatures slowly began to crawl up her legs.
"Ew, what are those things?" she gasped.
"The foundation of all life, including you, originated from these single celled organisms," explained Rikoukeitar.
"...Okay?" Sora and Sailor Moon asked with a puzzled look.
"So says the single-celled brain," sighed Luna.
But Sailor Juptier was not willing to fight, and unleashed her Supreme Thunder attack, as Sora channeled the power of thunder to bring forth a storm, blasting the cells to dust. Then they redirected the lightning which the transformed Reika absorbed into a flask she summoned.
"She's collecting our lightning!" cried Makoto.
Rikoukeitar then sent it right back at them.
"Look out!" called Sora, and he blocked it with his Keyblade.
He then sent upward to the sky, which made the two girls breathe a sigh of relief.
"Sora, I was wrong about you! You really are a good guy!" she said.
"Thanks, Sailor Jupiter!" replied Sora, giving her a thumbs up.
He then turned towards Rikoukeitar.
"Let's end this!" he said to her.
"Very well, I'll enjoy watching you writhe in agony!" replied the demon.
"Take another guess!" a voice said from nowhere.
To Usagi and Makoto's surprise, they saw Riku lunging towards her and sending her back.
"Riku!" they said in relief.
"Sailor Mercury! Sailor Mars! Keep her busy! The rest of us will deal with the Heartless!" Riku said to his friends.
Sailor Mercury nodded, and unleashed her Bubble Spray attack to create a powerful fogbank. Then Sailor Mars unleashed her Fire Soul to destroy the flask, granting Sailor Moon a fighting chance.
"It's over now! You lost!" Sora said to her.
"You said it, Sora! Now go help Motoki's girlfriend!" quacked Donald.
"And remember what's gonna happen when you let your infighting get the better of you," added Goofy.
"Yeah, yeah, we get it, already. Our enemies will take advantage of our situation so they can take away everything we cherish with our hearts," sighed Rei, as she watched Sora and Sailor Moon step forward with their weapons held at the ready.
"Reika Nishimura, it's time for you to face the light!" cried Sora.
"Moon Healing Escalation!" called Usagi.
The combined attack surged into Reika, reverting her to normal. At the same time, Zoisite and Tuxedo Mask stil fought furiously over the crystal.
"It seems your monster has been defeated!" said the caped crusader.
"Then it seems that I've lost as well. You may take the rainbow Crystal," gasped Zoisite, admitting defeat.
But it was all a ruse, as Zoisite sent several petals distracting him, grabbed the crystal and vanished into the dark corridor, laughing victoriously.
"Sooner or later I'll get you for this Zoisite!" he said furiously.
"Let him go, for now. Trust me, you'll get your chance at another Rainbow Crystal," interjected Sora.
"Thank you, Sora, and take care," replied Tuxedo Mask.
As he left, Motoki slowly sat up to see Reika running to his side and embracing him. Then the next day, everyone came to the airport to see Reika off on her trip to Africa.
"Reika I really don't want to say, goodbye to you," Motoki said sadly.
"I know, I promise to write to you," replied Reika.
"And I'll be waiting for you to come back," said Motoki, who cheered up a little.
The two of them stared into each other's eyes for a short while.
"Well, I'd better go," said Reika.
"Take care," replied Motoki, as he watched her going down the escalator.
"Good for them," said Sora.
"You said it," agreed Makoto.
"Oh, I'm so sad. Maybe we should forget about Motoki. What do you think?" sobbed Usagi.
"I don't think so, Usagi. I know Reika will come back soon, so we'll all cheer for her with our hearts," replied Roxas.
Everyone nodded in agreement, at least until Makoto and Usagi started talking about who would look after Motoki in Reika's place, while she studied abroad in Africa.
