CHAPTER 13: KING'S DAWN.

(POV: Jason.)

A week after the war between Lux-Aurea and Lux-Tenebris had finally come to a close, Thomas and Lady were getting dressed in the very clothing that they'll wear during their reign as the king and queen of magic laws and defense. Obviously, Thomas was wearing the same attire that Lady made his coat for, as she wore a dress similar to that of what her mother wore, but in the same color scheme as her engine. As the two looked at each other in the mirror, Lady gave a smile, as her husband affectionately wrapped his arms around her.

"It's hard to believe that it's here." She remarked. "Our coronation."

"I know." Thomas replied. "And I will try to do my very best for you and everyone else."

Lady gave a smile as she then kissed Thomas on the cheek. Her love for him being quite obvious and visible as usual.

"I have some ideas you might like." She replied. "All of which involving railways. I know it's a passion of yours and so I don't want you to give it up."

Thomas cracked a smile as he then nuzzled his wife.

"Thank you for thinking about that, Lady. But don't worry, I'm sure we'll find time to drive our engines. Right?"

"Right." She replied back as her smile also got bigger.

As the two then finished nuzzling, they both turned heel and walked to where the crowning was to take place. Due to tradition and good reason, not all Sorcerer-Knights were there to witness, for many misusers are still at large. But, since they were greatly bonded and trusted by Thomas and Lady, their friends of their usual group of missions were there. As Thomas and Lady then kneeled, Lady's parents placed the crowns upon them. Thomas's wasn't massive like some were, but it wasn't small either. It rested perfectly across his ears and forehead as blue jewels upon its front glistened nicely in the sunlight. Lady's crown was very much the same as Thomas's but it was slightly narrower with magenta jewels instead of blue. As the two then stood up, Jackland spoke to the Sorcerer-Knights.

"You all knew that it was coming, and now it has arrived! Thomas and Lady are now the head of whom you all follow. The future is now in their hands so help them when they ask for it!"

Everyone nodded, before bowing respectively. A little later, everyone had a celebration as Thomas and Lady joked and chatted with their friends.

"Then.." Percy went on as he told Gordon and Henry about the fight that Thomas had with Alfred. "Thomas made the greatest come back by saying: 'And aren't one to talk considering that you wasted your engine's career by turning it into a bomb for petty revenge?' The look that he gave was priceless!"

"AH! HA! HA!" Gordon laughed. "Oh that's great alright! Well done, Thomas."

"Well, he did try to kill my wife and planned on killing everyone I cared about." Thomas remarked. "So he had it coming."

"All the same." Chuckled Henry. "You roasted him good. Really good."

"Heh." Thomas chuckled. "To bad I didn't vinegar, or that cumber would have been a true pickle. Anyway.." He went on. "Has anyone noticed something different about how James and Emily have been interacting with one another?"

"No.." Percy replied. "Why?"

Thomas pointed towards the other side of the room, to where James and Emily were sitting together in an affectionate manner. As Percy saw this, he couldn't help but smile.

"Looks like he's finally gotten over some of his insecurities." The 18 year-old in green remarked.

"Yes." Gordon replied. "I bet this would be a great thing for him, to have a lover."

As Thomas gave a smile as well, he looked towards Lady who was giggling and chatting as she spoke with her friends.

(POV: Thomas.)

"It's so hard to believe that it almost never happened for me." I thought as I looked back at the years prior. "I was so unsure of myself, unsure if I even devsered a girl like Lady. For a while, I thought of her as a person whom I was not permitted or able to reach all due to her rank being higher than mine. But when Timothy told me otherwise, I found my reach much closer to her as the days went by. Eventually I was able to reach her and be able to share my love with her. James had a similar situation with Emily, and he too has overcome the things that kept him down. As Gordon stated, this would really be great for him."

As I then continued to reminisce, I didn't notice Lady coming towards me until she tapped my shoulder. As I then looked at her starry eyes, she gave a short giggle.

"Deep in thought again?" She asked knowingly.

"Yes." I replied. "I couldn't help but notice how similar James's situation with Emily was to mine with you back in the day."

Lady just broadened her smile as she got closer to me.

"Everyone has reasons to be insecure, Thomas." She replied. "But when you get over those insecurities you might find great results depending on the situation."

"Yeah." I replied. "And for one thing, I know that we might get pretty flustered tonight."

My wife just nodded in agreement as she then kissed me on the cheek. As time went on, we all had a great time with the celebration of ours. Eventually the day turned to night and everyone went back home. As I looked out of the window towards the moonlit starry night, I couldn't help but worry, for a certain crimson killer was still out there.

"Will everyone be safe? Will Lady be safe? I still have not ended things with Hunter yet, and I'm so scared of what he plans next."

I began to feel the knife of fear slide up my spine as a familiar voice then spoke to me.

"Something on your mind, love?" Lady asked.

"Hunter." I replied, as I began to grow more and more worried. "He's still out there, Lady, and I'm scared of what he may plan next."

My wife took in my words and then wrapped her arms around me as she stepped closer to me.

"If Hunter does try anything, I know that you will stop him. Especially if he tries to kill me. For now, let us rest and worry about our duties as the new head of magic laws and defense, as well as what we decided for our future."

"Alright." I sighed in reply as I then looked at Lady. "Are you ready for this then?"

"Of course." She replied, as we then did as we planned.

(POV: Jason.)

As Thomas and Lady spent the night together in their bed, the magic particles that were the remains of Lux-Tenebris continued to fly through the gust of wind. Suddenly a hand reached out and caught them as he then looked at it.

"Thank you, little brother." Said Hunter as he sneered with delight. "Once I'm done with my experiments with this and Mordred's magic particles, you'll have a true worthy opponent."

As the crimson killer then laughed maniacally to the sky, it was clear that Hunter had not lost his place as the main and endgame antagonist of the stories of the Sudrian Sorcerers. Though Hunter's final fight with Thomas was on the way, another chapter for Thomas and Lady was coming first, one with a more heart warming story and an end for the conflict between them and a certain class 42 warship driver. But I shall not say anymore, or I'll spoil it all.
