The song in this chapter is a real song I wrote while writing a previous chapter. It came to me during writing and it is a 4/4 jazz tune which I'm hoping to post on my Facebook music page and YouTube soon. Thanks for reading, and please leave me some comments.

Chapter 14

A gift for forever

Sarah stood motionless when the fae wolf turned around and stared at her with a pair of yellow eyes that glowed in the dark. The sun was only now beginning to rise above the horizon, and it would take another ten minutes before it was light enough to see clearly.

The fae wolf kept staring and Sarah held her gaze. Faron had told her to never lower her gaze. She had to dominate him with all her powers, or the wolf would be lost to Jareth.

"You must come with me, now. Do not defy me!" Sarah again ordered the fae wolf to comply. He held his gaze silently.

"Why should I do what you say? Who are you, to tell me what to do? I am Ceres, the most powerful fae wolf in the Underground for the past three hundred years. Nobody tells me what to do."

His voice was low and rumbling in Sarah's head.

"I am Queen Sarah of the Labyrinth Kingdom and you must follow my orders. You are my subject, now bow to me!"

Sarah gave it her best to sound confident and strong, inside she was everything but. She used the exact words Faron had hammered into her head. She found them a bit harsh, but Faron had insisted she use those words.

"I bow to no one", Ceres replied and snarled at Sarah. She held his gaze and kept her head high. Her posture radiated power despite her shaking knees.

"I said bow to me!"

Sarah spoke again in a stern and forceful manner and pointed her finger right at his head. Both stared each other down for what seemed like an eternity. Sarah could barely breathe, but kept her composure.

Ceres growled and leaped at Sarah. Had it not been for Faron having warned her about this, she would've jumped, but she stood her ground and didn't budge. She used her solid object defying magic and Ceres jumped right through her.

She turned around to face him again.

"I said, bow to me!"

She ordered him again, and again Ceres leaped at her trying to throw her off. Sarah stood her ground, and again he went straight through her. Sarah raised her arms and a bright light illuminated the hill. She had created her time bubble.

Faron had practiced with her on this skill for many weeks now, and unlike the long distance teleportation, she had gotten extremely good at this difficult magic skill.

As time stood still for Ceres, Sarah climbed up on his back and put her arms around his neck as if to put him in a choke hold. She took one deep breath and dissolved the bubble.

Ceres was completely stunned by her sitting on his back and tried to shake her, but Sarah was locked down tight.

"How did you do that?" He growled as he fought her.

"I said bow to me!" She kept ordering and did not answer his question.

"Never will I bow to anyone", Ceres replied defiantly with a snarl.

"Then die at the hands of my sword", Sarah answered, activated her time bubble again and climbed off his back. She drew her sword and stood directly in front of him with the tip of the sword stuck right against his forehead. She stood there for a moment and took a couple of deep breaths. If this wasn't going to work she was out of tricks. She deactivated her bubble.

Ceres stood there, completely stunned and shaken, as he stared at her in front of him with her royal sword, poking into his forehead. He did not move.

"I tell you one last time, bow to me!" This time Sarah yelled it and stabbed the sword deeper into his flesh.

Slowly the glow left Ceres' eyes and he stepped slightly back. He bend one leg and bowed to her, lowering his head and gaze. He laid flat on his stomach.

"My queen and my master", he finally said. Sarah heaved a sigh of relief and sheathed her sword.

At this point Faron teleported up the hill and smiled with pride.

"Now that was worthy of a queen. Oh, I so wish Jareth could have seen this. He would explode with pride for you, but I got it all in the crystal ball." Faron smiled mischievously from ear to ear. Sarah rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"I was close to death and you recorded the whole thing? Really?" She motioned Ceres to stand up and placed a collar around his neck.

"We'll have to get you a tag made quickly with your name on it. Faron?" Sarah turned to Faron. "Can you take care of this? A gold tag, larger than the ones we have for the other wolves, with the royal crest on one side and his name on the other."

Faron nodded and teleported away.

"Now, you and I, we're going to get to know each other a little bit before we go to the castle."

Sarah started walking down the hill with Ceres close by her side. When they reached the bottom, Mara joined them.

"This is Mara, she is one of your descendants and my protector. We also have her brothers, Deimos and Phobos, who are the guardians of my twin sons. They are also twin fae wolves."

Ceres gave her a surprised look, but did not say anything as all three took a stroll through the little valley on the outskirts of the northern forest.

Jareth had been busy building on his bathtub in the main bathroom. He was about to put the finishing touches on it by polishing the marble.

"Perfect", he mumbled with a grin, "fate come i romani and just in time for tomorrow." He put down his rag, took the cleaning supplies and teleported out after locking the door.

It was close to lunch and he wondered where Sarah was, but kept busy with more paperwork from his subjects. He had to answer several early birthday greeting messages, and unlike usually, he didn't complain about that. He kind of had grown fond of being the center of attention for a day, or two.

Sarah came back just as he floated his last crystal ball thank you message out of the window in his study.

"Sorry I'm late, long class." She tried not to look at him. He always could tell when she wasn't being truthful, and the last thing she wanted was a bunch of questions.

"But for that I don't have another class until Monday, so we'll have an extra-long weekend with tomorrow being only Thursday." She smiled in her nicest way and put her arms around his neck.

"I'm all yours from this moment on." Her eyes shimmered their most intense greenish brown color at him.

Jareth seemed appeased and smirked back at her, putting his arms around her waist.

"That's great babe, because I have plans that will keep us quite busy."

"Do I want to know them?" Sarah asked with a look of concern.

"Nope, you'll find out soon enough", he smirked in his most mischievous way and Sarah had a good idea where he was going with all of this. But, since it was his birthday weekend, she was going to let him have all the fun he wanted.

Jareth took her to lunch with him at the Elven Grill since it had been quite some time they had been there, and afterwards they strolled through the hills outside of the city, taking Jay and Jeremy with them. Sarah and Jareth always enjoyed their family outings, especially with three faewolves accompanying them. Soon it would be four and Sarah was excited to see what Jareth would say to her gift.

The day flew by rather quickly, and for once, Jareth was not trying to get Sarah to make love to him, which she found a bit peculiar. He was contempt to play his piano and guitar and entertained her with a palette of old and new songs.

"You know, I'm still waiting on that song you wrote. What happened to that one?" He asked her casually as he played 'Spanish Eyes' on the guitar.

Sarah looked up from her drawing book, while sketching Jareth sitting by the piano, and smiled. She walked over to his desk and pulled out a folder with some sheet music in it.

"Here you go. I wanted to give it to you tomorrow for your birthday, but I think right now is a very appropriate time to let you have it." She smiled deviously as she handed a very stunned Jareth the folder.

"You had this in my desk the whole time?"

"What better hiding place then right under your nose? You would never think of looking there." She laughed out loud as his face was priceless.

"You are one sneaky woman. I need to keep a much better eye on you", he replied and took the folder.

"Here, I sing it for you", Sarah offered and grabbed her ukulele. "Oh by the way, it's called 'Together we'll rule the World'." She gave him another devilish smile and started playing. When she was finished Jareth clapped and gave her a long kiss.

"That was perfect. It's a song about us. I love it." He opened the folder and looked at the chord progressions and lyrics.

"My music teacher at the YGLC helped me out with it again. If there is anything you want to change around go for it", she added, but Jareth shook his head.

"Looks all good to me", he assured her.

He sat down by his piano and started to slowly go over the chords and the melody.

After a few moments he asked Sarah to play it so he could follow her. They practiced for nearly two hours, interrupting this song only with her other song, 'Sway with me'.

"You are becoming quite the songwriter, babe. A swing tune and a jazz tune", Jareth turned to her with a happy face. "I'm impressed. Very well done. I wonder what other surprises you have in store for me during our lifetime of forever."

He gave her a tender kiss, holding her face with his hands.

"Let's turn in for the night", he declared out of the blue. Sarah looked at the clock. It was barely the 21st hour, they usually stayed up at least till the 25th hour.

"Already? You're tired or do you have something up your sleeve?" Sarah asked suspiciously.

"Early start tomorrow. You'll need your beauty sleep, and I'll need my rest." He winked at her and teleported up to the bedroom holding her hand.

Jareth woke Sarah up at six o'clock in the morning, and she was about to suffocate him with a pillow.

"I've been up two days in a row before sunrise. Honey, what are we getting up so early for?"

She rolled over with a grunt and closed her eyes again.

"Rise and shine, you're burning daylight", Jareth replied in a chipper mood.

"Fine, then wake me up when the damn sun starts shining. That would be in an hour", Sarah growled and buried her head into a pillow.

Jareth was rather set back by that, but decided he would give her that one hour. He sat by the window sill sending some early messages after he had gotten him some coffee and placed the breakfast order with Hoggle.

When Sarah finally woke up again at seven with the sunrise, he gave her a boyish smile. He looked so adorable sitting on the window sill in his hot tight pants with no shirt on, and that famous little sheepish smirk of his, she couldn't stay mad at him. She got up, put on her little silk robe and joined him on the sill.

"So what was all that about at six o'clock? What is so urgent to wake me up that early?" Sarah asked him while sending off a crystal ball.

"You'll see after breakfast", he replied and grabbed a crystal ball out of the air that had a birthday greeting for him.

"Happy birthday to the hottest king in the entire Underground"

"Ha, see my subjects think I'm hot too." He proudly proclaimed as Sarah laughed out loud.

"Happy birthday to the king that makes my heart flutter"

"Better watch out babe. Looks like you got competition", he waved it in front of her eyes like a piece of candy. Sarah could barely restrain herself from doubling over with laughter.

"Happy birthday to the king with the mostest, and the hottest, tightest pants in the kingdom. You rock my world".

"Finally somebody who appreciates my qualities and wardrobe", he was especially proud of that one. "I think I'm going to save that one", he told Sarah who had trouble not falling out the window from her fits of laughter.

"I wrote that one, hun. You're welcome. You'll always will be my king with the mostest. And I just love those hot sexy tight pants of yours." She looked cheekily into his stunned face before he started to laugh loudly again.

"I should've known. Like I said last night, I need to keep an eye on you. You are full of surprises." He kissed her gently and played with the front of her robe.

"Still leaves the other two though", he added with a smirk as he put them on the little table by the window. Sarah only grinned and retied her robe, just in time for Hoggle to knock on the door and bringing in the breakfast.

"Let's eat, babe", Jareth cheerfully proclaimed. "It's your king's order." He sat down and started loading up on bagels.

Sarah shook her head and laughed. Seeing him so happy filled her with joy, and a deep love for him welled up in her heart.

She had just barely finished her last cinnamon roll as he stood up and asked for her hand. Sarah looked up at him with a hint of suspicion and squinted eyes.

"Milady, follow me into the bathroom", he declared in an official tone that made Sarah burst out with laughter.

"Aren't we getting official now or what?" She squeaked between bouts of laughter.

"I wanna show you something. Quit laughing", he said impatiently and took her hand. "You're going to like it, trust me."

He quirked his eyebrow and gave her a quick flash with his eyes.

"Oh boy", Sarah thought and followed him into the main bathroom. There in the middle of the bathroom stood a gorgeous round marble tub with steps leading up to it and ledges to sit on. It even had Roman mosaics inside the tub which was filled with water. Sarah was truly taken in by it.

"Wow, hun that is stunning. You did all this? And without magic?" She couldn't believe it and walked over to the tub to run her fingers over some of the mosaic work along the outside rim.

Jareth stood there with his head tilted, smiling softly at her.

"I remember how much fun we had in that bathtub in Rome and I thought we could have the same fun here, in an identical replica, or maybe, an improved replica."

He had stepped right up to her and put his arms around her waist as he opened her robe. Sarah looked at him with loving eyes.

"It is beautiful, and yes, we'll have a lot of fun with it. Starting right now."

She let her robe slip off her shoulders and stepped into the tub, inviting him in with a sultry look. Jareth didn't needed to be asked twice as he got rid of his pants with a magic hand wave and joined her.

"Fate come i romani", he whispered as he kissed Sarah on her neck and shoulder, his hands caressing every inch of her body.

"Fais moi l'amour", she whispered back.

Two hours they had spent in their new tub, but to Jareth and Sarah it seemed only like a few minutes.

"Einstein was right. Time flies when you are having fun", Sarah chuckled when she looked at the clock as she sat on the ledge wrapped in a towel fixing her hair.

"Einstein who?" Jareth asked and pulled his pants back on.

"Smart man. One of the greatest minds of the 20th century. Came up with the theory of relativity." Sarah laughed, as she kept forgetting that some of the famous people in the Surface World had never been heard of in the Underground.

"I'll get you a book on him. You'll be really interested in his stuff. He's sort of like a theoretical time traveler himself."

Jareth looked intrigued.

"Something you can give me for Christmas", he replied as he helped her step down from the ledge.

"Ok, now I have something for you", Sarah grabbed his hand and told him to hurry up with getting dressed. When she finally got him to teleport down to the study Faron and Chayrone were already waiting on him.

"What's this?" Jareth asked surprised. Chayrone came up and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"Happy birthday Jareth", she said cheerfully. "We're only dropping off Sarah's gift to you.

Jareth didn't seem to understand and looked at Sarah who stood there with a small box in her hand and a soft smile on her face. Jareth squinted his eyes as he took the box and opened it.

"Who's wolf?"

He asked as he held the tag in his hand. He still hadn't grasped what was going on. Faron clapped his hands and a gigantic pepper and salt colored fae wolf with bright yellow eyes entered the room. He walked straight up to Jareth and sat down in front of him holding his gaze.

Jareth stood there silently, completely stunned before he looked at Sarah.

"How is this possible? I already used up my one wolf."

"You used up your wolf from your first life, but not the second. You were reborn in Las Vegas. This here is Ceres, your new protector." Sarah gently took Jareth hand with the tag and moved it towards Ceres.

"Put it on him to claim him."

She let go of his hand. Jareth stood there looking into her eyes as it all started to sink in. He took Sarah's face into his hands and kissed her for a long time.

"Babe", is all he could say before he turned towards Ceres and attached the tag to his collar. Faron and Chayrone started cheering and Sarah flung her arms around Jareth' neck.

"I have been working on this ever since Vegas. We barely got it done in time, Faron and I", she gave Faron a wink right before Jareth kissed her again.

"I have the best wife and the best friends anywhere in the universe", Jareth proclaimed happily as a tear ran down his cheek. He walked back over to Ceres and scratched him under his chin.

"Welcome to the family, boy", Jareth said softly as Ceres shook his head and woofed. Mara stubbed her nose against his and both laid down by the fireplace.

"I reserved a large table for us at the GobliNaut. Hoggle, Krimble, and Krum are going to join us, as well as Jay and Jeremy with Aria and Aviana. Oh, Arman, Aden, Bethan, and Kaden will be there too. I'm taking all of you to lunch", Faron proclaimed loudly as Jareth and Sarah gave him a big hug.

"I love you so much, babe", Jareth whispered to Sarah one more time before they all teleported out of the room.
