Chapter 14

"have courage and be strong" She heard Wyatt say.

She began to walk in to the gym where all of the boys already were, already jogging around the gym a few of the girls there as well. She made eye contact with Jughead a shiver ran down her spine. She turned and sat down on a bench. The teacher wasn't there so she wasn't going to do anything yet.

Everyone finally came out the changing room and started jogging, Cheryl, Kevin, Toni and Veronica joining Archie and Jughead. The gym coach came out and told everyone to carry on.

"Betty, I spoke to your doctor and she said you can join in but walk and take it slow"

Betty rolled her eyes. And started walking slowly wincing every time she sped up a little. Everyone else kept on passing her until her old friends got to her.

"Hey Betty" Toni said getting Betty's attention who nodded acknowledging they were there. "So- "

"you guys better get jogging, wouldn't want to kept in trouble" They nodded and ran past her.

""she'll be in newspaper with us. We can talk to her then." Jughead said. They were planning to confront her.

Betty got bored and tired quickly and sat back down on the bench. She got out her phone and called Olly.

"Hey! Betts" Olly said cheerily on the phone.

"hey, what are you guys up to?"

"we're gonna ditch school to visit Wy- uhh I mean- "

"you can say his name"

"we are going to Wyatt's grave. We all miss you" oh ok, I have to go now, I miss you too"

Betty put her phone back in her pocket and played with the ring. She wanted nothing more than to visit Wyatt. But it was okay, she could see and talk to Wyatt. Her eyes welled up.

"I wanna see you again" she whispered.

"you can see me"

"it's not the same though"

Coach shouted telling everyone to go and get dressed, interrupting her. Betty started getting changed. She had been able to get her pants on. By now everyone had left. At least she had thought that. Veronica and Cheryl came in chatting. They stopped talking once they noticed Betty. They got dressed in silence. Betty was trying to get her bag secured to her crutch properly but it was heavy with her laptop in. She failed for the third time "fuck" she yelled

"do you want some help?" Veronica asked. "I could carry it for you. We've got Newspaper now"

"thanks. How long ago did you guys join Blue and Gold" Betty asked. Curious to how the group came together, especially Cheryl and Toni joining

"when you disappeared we, all joined to help out and investigate" Cheryl explained

They walked into to the blue and gold, they were the first ones there.

"Betty" Jughead said, noticing her as the boys and Toni walked in.

"you can do whatever, just pretend I'm not here."

Betty opened her laptop and put on a pair of headphones. She opened up Instagram. She opened the video that Fay had made. She'd posted it and tagged Betty and everyone else. She kept watching it over and over. Staring at Wyatt's face and seeing how happy they once were.

The bell, rung it was the end of the day. Betty grabbed her stuff and left first.
