Count on me Chapter 12, a glee fanfic

To guest: Don't worry you are not annoying me and there is some Angst for both coming in future chapters but Britt is the one with the bad childhood here.

I have another story in mind with Angst for Santana I will maybe upload some next week, I wanted to write a few chapters of that story beforehand because my focus lays with this one atm.

Brittany sighs dropping her head on the table during lunch and groans tiredly. '' Why the hell did we decide on a movie night and sleepover last night?''

'' Because we rehearsed our songs and were so hyped up that San's parents told us to crash there and to watch a movie so we could all relax.'' Quinn mumbles tiredly.

'' God I am so tired.'' Kayla mumbles yawning as she leans into her sister smiling as she sees Santana already half asleep tucked against Britt's right side.

'' Just shut up.'' Santana grumbles nuzzling her face in Brittany's leather jacket.

'' Ugh stop complaining girls, it's almost time for glee.'' Puck says laughing as he sees the other gleeks look at them with amused smiles, he places four Lima bean cups on the table and laughs as they immediately sit up. ''Drink up.'' He turns to Kayla holding up a cup and smiles. '' Hot chocolate Kay?''

'' Yes please!'' Kay squeaks out smiling brightly, Puck laughs handing her the cup and leans over Brittany grabbing his own coffee.

'' Why the hell are you so hyped up Puck?'' Quinn asks humming softly at the taste of her caramel latte, Puck sits down next to her and shrugs.

'' I slept really well last night even though it got quite late and I know B and I will kill our song.''

'' You know it.'' Brittany mumbles as Santana pulls away from her to drink her coffee.

'' Wait the five of you had a sleepover?'' Rachel asks curiously, Santana nods her head and hums.

'' Yeah we discussed the songs we will perform today and after that my parents told them that they can stay over.''

'' Why didn't you invite us?'' Rachel asks frowning, she glances at the new girls and bites her lip. '' The new students get invited, but we don't that's not cool San.''

'' Whoa hold up Berry, speak for yourself. We.'' Mercedes mentions her hand to herself and Sam smiling at the five friends in front of them and shrugs. '' Don't mind them having sleepovers without us.''

'' Yeah we don't mind it either.'' Mike says as Tina leans into him

'' I don't know what your problem is Rachel, but we all got paired up together so it's obvious that we are also hanging out together to rehearse. I got paired up with Kayla and San and Puck both paired up with Brittany so we met up with them and there's that.'' Quinn says rolling her eyes.

'' My problem is that you meet up with two new students who just joined glee even though we didn't decide yet if they will join!'' Rachel says frowning, she stands up grabbing her tray and turns on her heels storming off with a huff.

'' What the hell?'' Santana asks frowning after the girl as Finn stands up to follow his girlfriend.

'' What the hell crawled up her butt and died?'' Quinn asks in confusion turning to Mercedes, Mercedes laughs and shrugs her shoulders.

'' It's Berry, does she need a reason to act like a diva?''

'' Didn't we decide the girls could join right after they sang a song?'' Mike asks confused, Sam nods his head in agreement and smiles.

'' Yeah and we can use their amazing voices.'' Brittany shoots them a small smile and sighs taking the last sip of her coffee.

'' Alright let's go before hobbit has more to complain about.''

Santana chokes on her sip of coffee and quickly covers her mouth laughing as their friends burst out laughing, Kayla giggles and shakes her head. '' Be nice Britt.''

'' That was nice Kay, you know me.'' Brittany mumbles smirking, she stands up grabbing her bag and shoulders it looking at the teens around the table. '' Ready?''

She smiles as they nod their heads jumping up and turns on her heels laughing as her sister runs past her with Quinn, Puck slides up beside her wrapping an arm around her shoulders and smirks. '' Ready to shock everyone?''

Brittany laughs and nods her head. '' Oh yeah.''

They walk into the auditorium jogging down the stairs and sit down in the front row, Santana sits down next to Brittany and smiles as she puts the armrest between them up. She scoots closer to her their legs touching and leans back laughing as she sees Quinn and Kayla take the stage and Rachel storming off grumbling. '' Looks like they won the, who will sing first discussion.''

Brittany nods her head shooting her sister a wink as she looks at them and leans back chuckling softly as she hears the familiar intro to girl on fire, Santana smiles impressed as the watches her best friend belt out the lyrics with the younger blonde and turns to Brittany.

'' They are amazing together.''

Brittany nods her head and smiles. '' Mh they are, you see the way Kay looks up at Quinn?'' She turns to Santana as she feels her nod her head and smiles. '' It's the same way she looks at you, she looks up at the both of you because you girls were the first real friends she made here.''

'' Yeah Q already told me that it feels like Kay is the little sister she never knew she needed, same goes for me Kay is amazing and I love hanging out with her.''

'' Yeah she loves hanging out with the two of you too.'' Brittany murmurs smiling, she turns to the stage as the song ends and lifts two fingers up to her lips whistling loudly laughing as Puck joins in.

'' Whoa girls that was amazing, I spontaneously decided to grade you all also the two of you got a B+!''

Brittany smiles proudly as her sister jumps down the stage skipping over to her and high fives her. '' Nice one sis.'' She turns to Q and smiles. '' That was awesome Q.''

'' Alright who is next?'' Mr Schue asks, Santana chuckles as Rachel immediately jumps up pulling Finn with her and leans back groaning as Rachel starts a rant about Barbra again.

'' God can't she just start singing?'' She asks softly, Mercedes leans forward looking at her and chuckles.

'' You know she can't San.''

'' Oh fuck no.'' Brittany groans out as she hears the intro to another Barbra song, Kayla covers her mouth giggling as she sees Finn dance and turns to the group sitting next to her.

'' Finn looks like a giant baby trying to walk.''

Brittany chuckles as the group burst out laughing and covers her mouth, she smiles as she feels Santana shake with laughter and turns to Puck as she feels him poke her shoulder.

'' She is just like you.''

'' She is my little sister.'' Brittany murmurs smiling proudly, she turns back to the stage and sighs softly as Mercedes and Sam take the stage singing Lucky.

After ten minutes she runs a hand through her hair after Mike and Tina performed and turns to Santana. '' Ready?''

She stands up as she nods her head and jumps onto the stage, she holds her hand out for Santana pulling her up as soon as she took it and leans against the piano smiling slightly as Santana walks to the band to tell them the song.

She turns to the group and smiles as the song starts up, she glances over at Santana as she hears her hum and licks her lips watching her dance to the beat.

Passed our exit five ago
Four lanes to county roads
Playlist lighting up the dark
808's and pounding hearts

Santana dances over to Brittany and stops in front of her smiling lovingly as she hears how well their voices blend in together.

Brittany grabs Santana's hand pulling her into her body and wraps her arms around her waist leading her over the stage swaying her hips.

Santana smiles cupping the back of Brittany's neck as they stop dancing and gazes up at her biting her lip as she sees the spark in her bright blue eyes.

Kayla giggles as she hears gasps around her watching her sister and Santana dance around the stage rolling their hips against each other and turns to Quinn. '' I really hope they will start dating soon, I never saw Britt like this.''

On the stage Brittany places her hands on Santana's hips and pulls her closer as soon as she feels her arms wrap around her shoulders, she leans their foreheads together and rolls her hips to the beat biting her lip as she hears Santana's raspy voice mix up with her own voice.

They both stop dancing slowly pulling away from each other and turn to the group biting back smiles as they see their jaws dropped.

'' Whoa! That was amazing girls!'' Will exclaims gasping, he turns to Brittany and smiles. '' Brittany we can definitely use your voice and talent next sectionals, you might get a solo!''

'' Mr Schue, you can't do that!'' Rachel exclaims shocked, Will turns to her and frowns.

'' Why can't I do that?''

'' Because it's still not sure if she will stay around! I mean it's not even sure if we all agree with her joining glee!'' Rachel exclaims, she crosses her arms in front of her chest and huffs. '' I am normally the one who sings our solo's for sectionals and nationals!''

'' Well I will be happy if she joins us.'' Tina says shrugging, Mercedes nods her head in agreement and shoots Brittany a smile.

'' Yeah I think we all will be because girl has talent, I can see myself singing often with Brittany and she can dance that is like a huge win for us.''

'' Yeah Mercedes is right, we kinda suck right now Rachel we lost the last sectionals and nationals.'' Mike says shrugging.

Puck nods his head in agreement and laughs. '' Mike we don't kinda suck, we really suck! Brittany and Kayla will be a huge help next sectionals and nationals, I am happy they joined glee and I am more than okay with them joining us.''

'' Well I thought it was already settled that both girls got in but yeah now it's official I think, I also think that their voices fit in perfectly and Brittany has an amazing talent and can sing in different languages as she proved just now. I think I can come up with a solo act for her.''

Rachel rolls her eyes and grumbles. '' It's not like that girl will stuck around, she missed school last week and nobody ever mentioned that!''

Santana turns to Rachel and points a finger at her. '' Don't you dare even going there Berry.''

Rachel glares at her and shrugs. '' Stay out of this Lopez, Brittany skipped school for a whole week and everyone is acting like nothing happened! If she can stay away that easily, it won't surprise me when she leaves us hanging during sectionals or nationals!''

'' Rachel stop it!'' Mercedes warns as she sees Brittany and Kayla both exchange glances, Rachel turns to her and frowns.

'' Why the hell are you taking her side? You didn't know why she wasn't there either!''

'' No you are right none of us knew but she probably had a good reason for missing out on school for a whole week.'' Mercedes says shrugging.

'' She had a damn good reason!'' Quinn exclaims glaring at Rachel.

'' Sleeping in and staying at home just because school is boring is not a good reason!'' Rachel exclaims.

'' Rachel stop it now!'' Mr Schue warns knowing what happened with Brittany.

Brittany shakes her head and runs her hand through her hair squeezing Santana's hand as she feels her tremble. '' You don't know shit about me, my sister or our lives Rachel.''

'' I know enough to know that you hate school so much that you gladly skip a week Brittany.'' Rachel says shrugging, Brittany shakes her head and chuckles.

'' You want to know why I skipped this week?'' She walks to the edge of the stage as she sees Rachel just raise an eyebrow about to answer and lifts her shirt pointing at her bruised ribs. '' Santana and Quinn found me unconscious in my own house because I got beaten up by my own fucking dad, so sorry that I missed out on a week of school and that you think that I gladly skipped this week instead of sitting in the fucking choir room listening to you talk on and on about your precious Broadway dream!''

She shakes her head as she sees everyone's jaw drop well everyone beside the friends who already knew and sighs. '' I don't want any pity, Kayla and I will get over it and that is also the reason why we have a stronger bond with Santana, Quinn and Puck. They were around when it happened but they didn't know it either until Kayla called them that she needed help, they stood behind us this whole week, supported us and Santana even shares her own house with us because Youth care wanted to take Kayla away.''

She turns to Rachel and glares at her. '' Just like I said, you don't know shit about what went on in my life Berry and I will sure as hell not tell you anything because I know that you can't keep your damn mouth shut, before you judge me, step into my shoes and walk through the hell I went through before Santana's parents appeared into our lives!''

Kayla stands up walking over to her sister and leans up on her tiptoes kissing her cheek, she turns to Rachel and shakes her head. '' I knew that I couldn't trust you but this just proves it even more, you don't even know how amazing my sister is and how many times she jumped in front of me to protect me for our dad or other people. I would like to see you do the things Brittany does because she is still standing and living her life trying to turn it into her own, you would crumble under all the stress and you could say goodbye to your damn Broadway dream because of the angst that would have captured you!''

'' That was low Berry, even for you.'' Puck says shaking his head with a frown as he jumps onto the stage, Quinn nods her head in agreement walking onto the stage and wraps an arm around Santana's waist knowing she is pissed off.

'' They never did something wrong and now you are here attacking them just because Brittany might do one or two solo's? Seriously Rachel we are a group which means that we are all in this together and this isn't the Berry show, you attacking her for something she most definitely didn't wish to happen is fucking low.''

'' Damn girl I already had a lot of respect for you because I observed the way you protected your sister for Abrams, but hearing this just made me realize just how much you really do for Kayla. You are the best sister one could ask for, don't let anybody tell you otherwise.'' Mercedes exclaims shocked, Brittany shoots her a smile and nods her head as she sees Sam, Mike and Tina nod their heads in agreement.

She turns to Mr Schue and sighs. '' Mr Schue may I be excused? I will sing the song with Puck tomorrow, but if I stay here any longer things will not end well.''

Mr Schue nods his head and sighs. '' Yeah glee is over, you all can go home.'' He turns to Rachel and shakes his head. '' Rachel please think about everything that happened because the way you were attacking Brittany just because I offered her a solo is absolutely wrong!''

Brittany turns to Santana and smiles slightly. '' Ready to go home?'' Santana nods her head trying to calm herself down knowing her being angry won't help things and jumps off of the stage grabbing both of their bags, she walks back to the stage after grabbing Puck, Kayla and Quinn's bags and holds them out for them.

Brittany turns to her sister and smiles. '' You don't have to cancel your plans Kay, go have fun with Q.''

'' You sure?'' Kayla asks softly as they walk out of the auditorium after saying goodbye to the group, Brittany wraps her arm around her sisters shoulder and nods her head.

'' Yes I am, I am sure Quinn is looking forward to a movie night with you too.''

Kayla nods her head and turns to Santana smiling slightly. '' You sure you don't want to join us San?''

Santana nods her head and chuckles as they walk out of the school. '' Yes I am Kay, I have still a few things I need to do at home. But the two of you have fun okay? I will join next time.''

'' We will hold you to that San.'' Quinn says smirking, she turns to Kayla and smiles sweetly. '' Want to drive with me Kay?''

Kayla nods her head and pats her bag. '' Yeah I already brought my clothes with me.''

Brittany kisses the top of her head and smiles. '' Have fun sis.'' She turns to Quinn pulling her in a hug and kisses her cheek. '' Have fun Q, please take care of her.''

'' I will B, promised.'' Quinn murmurs smiling lovingly

Brittany walks to her own car unlocking it as Quinn leads Kayla to her car and throws her bag in smiling as she watches Santana slide into the car after hugging Puck, she walks over to him and chuckles as he pulls her in a hug. '' I am alright Puck.''

'' I know, any plans for tonight?'' He asks, he pulls out of the hug and smiles. '' We can have a game night if you want.''

Brittany shakes her head glancing back at her car and smiles as she sees Santana scrolling through the music on her phone. '' San and I have a date.'' She murmurs softly.

'' For real?'' Puck asks smiling brightly, he pats her shoulder as she nods her head and chuckles. '' Damn didn't expect that one, alright I won't hold you back any longer go enjoy your date.''

'' I will.'' Brittany murmurs walking to her car, she stops before she opens the car door and turns to Puck. '' Hey Puck?'' She smiles as he turns to her and runs a hand through her hair. '' Keep it to yourself for now okay? Kay and Q don't know yet.''

She thanks him as he just nods his head and jumps in her car, Santana turns to her as she pulls out of the driveway and bites her lip. '' You okay, Britt-Britt?''

Brittany hums softly and glances at her smiling slightly. '' I am San, I am kinda looking out to a date I have tonight.''

Santana bites her lip trying to contain her big smile and tilts her head raising an eyebrow. '' Really you have a date? With who?''

Brittany shrugs her shoulders and smirks. '' One of the most gorgeous Latina's I ever met, you might know her.''

'' Mh that doesn't ring a bell, I am sure that girl is lucky as hell.'' Santana mutters smiling lovingly, Brittany chuckles reaching out to grab her hand and squeezes it softly.

'' I am the lucky one.''
