I've been focused on NaNoWriMo this month (and also sick) so I tried to get a bunch written beforehand to make sure I could update. Unfortunately I hit a lovely writer's block so not as much as I'd hoped.
I hope you like it!
Chapter 15: Sheriff Skyfire
"Ladies and Gentle-monsters!" once again Cosmo was bouncing across the stage, hyping up the crowd. "Please welcome today's contestant, the notorious demolition expert...Blammo!" he shouted. The crowd roared as a monster ran into view.
"Cover your ears folks, because every piece of me is explosive!" Blammo announced to the crowd as Cosmo peered from a short distance away. "Watch this!" he laughed, drawing an orb from his chest. "I've set the timer for five seconds, catch," he tossed it to Cosmo, who caught it out of reflex. He shrieked as the crowd counted down, and after a moment of panic, he hurled it into the air. It exploded, showering the cowering announcer on the ground in ash. "You think that was close? The Rangers won't be so lucky," Blammo declared.
When a siren started to echo over the noise of the crowd, Odius straightened in her seat and Badonna gasped as Eidolon frowned.
"Oh my, is that SPD?" Cosmo gasped. They turned as a figure walked into view, holding up a badge.
"Hold it right there, Blammo," he strode towards the monster, who gasped.
"Why, aren't you the legendary Sheriff Skyfire?" Cosmo recognised the intruder.
"You are correct," Sheriff Skyfire confirmed with a nod, and held up a wanted poster of Blammo. "Now, Blammo, you're wanted for 73 counts of unlawful use of explosives. You're under arrest, pal," he told the explosive monster.
"Can't we do this late, Sheriff?" Cosmo stepped between the two before Skyfire could arrest the monster. "We're right in the middle of a show!" he gestured to the crowd. Some of the audience shied away, trying to avoid notice. "This is Galaxy Warriors!" he exclaimed as Skyfire looked around.
"Never heard of it," the Sheriff dismissed. "I only watch cooking shows," he told the announcer, and turned to grab Blammo's arm. "Let's go, Blammo," he ordered.
"Don't touch me!" the monster struggled, but Skyfire ignored him, shoving him along and ignoring Cosmo's pleas to stop.
"Good work, Sheriff," Odius blocked Skyfire's path as he led Blammo towards his ship. "I hate crime," she purred.
"Glad to hear it, Ms…?"
"Oh, I'm Madame Odius and this is my ship," she introduced herself. "Perhaps you can help me," she put her hands together, sounding hopeful. Eidolon had to admit, she was a decent actress. Skyfire tilted his head a little.
"Help? With what?" he asked, and Eidolon fought to roll her eyes. Another hero.
"It's awful!" she gestured a Basherbot forward and it held up a photo of the Power Rangers. "This band of thieves stole my Nexus Prism!" she explained tearfully.
"She's telling the truth," Badonna nodded eagerly. "I saw everything," she insisted. "They're down on Earth right now," she explained.
"They can't escape the law. I'll arrest them immediately," he declared.
"My hero," Odius sighed gratefully.
"Just doin' my job. Now, you hold Blammo until I return with the thieves," Skyfire shoved the monster towards them. "And then I'll take all of them to meet the heavy hands of justice!" he declared.
"Give those criminals everything you've got," Odius encouraged, before Skyfire vanished in a flash of light.
"I can't believe he bought that," Eidolon admitted.
"What a fool!" Badonna scoffed.
"Yes, but if that Sheriff is as tough as they say he is, the Rangers might finally be destroyed!" Odius laughed.
"I cannot believe that I considered that game a break," Aaron groaned as he slid into a seat, ready to devour his lunch.
"What, you're not enjoying Thunder training?" Teddie asked, just as bruised as he was.
"I wish it was just Water still," Aaron grumbled, taking a bite of his sandwich. The others smiled as they joined, hearing his complaints.
"I'm trying not to be offended that I've had three teachers," Sarah admitted, petting Kody as Hayley fed her dog some treats.
"Neither Annie nor Blake are actual teachers. Besides, considering this is the one thing you've actually been struggling at…" when Sarah glared at her, Teddie trailed off, but was smiling widely. She looked away, eating her apple instead.
"Uh oh," Calvin muttered, nudging Hayley. "Here comes Clint," he warned, making her grimace.
"Hayley," the security guard for the school walked over, looking unimpressed as Hayley forced a smile. "No dogs allowed inside the school. I'm gonna have to write you up for that," he told her.
"What? But he's only here until after lunch when my dad can pick him up," Hayley protested.
"Rules are rules Hayley," Clint wasn't sympathetic as he lifted a pad from his side.
"But everyone loves Kody!" Hayley protested. "He's been in here like a dozen times," she said, almost dismissive. Aaron groaned.
"Wrong thing to say," he muttered.
"A dozen times?" Clint looked up from what he was doing, eyebrows raised. "Well, that's a dozen write-ups," he decided, and her jaw dropped as the others winced sympathetically.
"What?" she hissed, glancing at her friends helplessly.
"Here you go," Clint handed the sheets over to Hayley. "I don't make the rules, guys," he raised his hands defensively when he saw them all watching. "I just enforce them," he defended.
"Yeah, I know," Hayley muttered, shoving the papers into her pocket. "Okay, I'll take Kody out," she lifted her drink and led Kody out.
"And one more write-up for that," the Rangers looked around in surprise as Clint stopped by the bins.
"What for?" Hayley frowned, confused.
"This bin is for trash only. Your can is recyclable," he lifted her empty can from the bin and put it into the other. "Simple. Don't blame this on me guys. Just doing my job," Clint said as he handed over another sheet to Hayley.
"I can't believe that guy," Hayley hissed as Clint walked away.
"I can. You know how tough Clint is when it comes to rules," Aaron shrugged, looking sympathetic.
"Tell me about it. I got two write-ups yesterday," Teddie nodded.
"What for?" Brody asked. Teddie went red.
"I'd rather not say," instead she went back to her apple, before their data-coms beeped loudly. Quickly the group gathered together, making sure nobody was within earshot.
"Rangers, there's Buzz-Cam activity downtown," Mick warned them.
"Send the coordinates. We'll check it out," Brody replied, and the team left their lunch, hurrying out.
When the team reached the coordinates where the Buzz-Cams were supposed to have been picked up, they found the place was empty.
"Where's the monster?" Brody wondered as they looked around.
"It's quiet," Daisy frowned, looking around. "Not even any civilians around," she considered.
"Stop right there!" they whirled around as Sheriff Skyfire appeared in a flash of blue. "Attention, Earthlings. I am Sheriff Skyfire, and you're going to pay for what we did to Madame Odius," he declared as they stood opposite him. "Surrender, or else," he warned.
"You work for Madame Odius? There's no way we're going to surrender to you," Preston told him. Sheriff Skyfire sighed, and lifted his sword.
"Very well, we'll do this the hard way," he declared.
"Oh, it's going to be very hard, on you!" Brody warned, grabbing his Morpher and Power Star. "It's Morphin' Time! Power Stars!"
"Lock in! Ready! NINJA SPIN!" the team Morphed, and Skyfire leapt through the air. After flooring Hayley and Levi, he raised one arm and pointed his sword at the Rangers.
"I'll give you one last chance to surrender," he warned, moving with them to block Preston's attack.
"We don't surrender, especially not to Odius and her creeps!" Teddie ran in and slammed her hammer down, but Skyfire dodged and kicked her away. He then caught Brody across the chest and knocked him backwards. The others ran to them, helping the pair up as Skyfire sighed.
"Can't say I didn't warn you," he ran at them again, knocking Preston and Levi aside. "You're the leader of these ruffians?" Skyfire asked Brody as their swords clashed loudly. "It'll go easier for you if you just give up now," he warned as Brody managed to push him back, straightening up. Instead, Brody shoved him hard, forcing Skyfire to back up. "Too bad," he sighed.
"What is with this guy? Either he really doesn't wanna be here, or he really thinks we'll just surrender," Daisy shook her head as Brody stood with his team again.
"Ninja Blast!" he shot at Skyfire, who deflected it with his sword. The blast flew off, slamming the ground where an old woman had been passing by.
"Oh no!" Brody raced over and caught the woman before she could fall.
"Element Blaster! Water Blast!" Aaron fired a shot into the air. Water exploded from the sky, causing a small downpour that put out the flames before they could do any damage.
"Ma'am, you dropped your purse," to their surprise, Sheriff Skyfire ran over as Brody helped the woman up.
"I'm glad you're okay," he said as the woman smiled thankfully at him.
"So am I," Skyfire handed over the woman's purse. "I'm sorry I put you in harm's way," he apologised as the others ran over.
"You need to be more careful!" she scolded, hurrying off and clutching her purse to her chest.
"We will, you can count on that, ma'am," Skyfire nodded as they turned to him, a little confused.
"Wait, you're a real good guy sheriff?" Preston asked him. Their opponent nodded.
"Yes, and Madame Odius told me you stole her Prism," he explained, seeming just as confused. Teddie gave a derisive laugh.
"Of course she'd say that," she muttered. "The Prism doesn't belong to her. It doesn't belong to anyone. We've been protecting it and the powers it has from evil like her," Teddie explained.
"Evil? I thought you were evil!" Skyfire admitted, surprised.
"Rude," Teddie put her hands on her hips.
"We're trying to protect our planet," Preston explained. "We've destroyed dozens of Odius' monsters to keep it safe," he told the Sheriff.
"I'm surprised you haven't heard of Odius," Daisy admitted. The others nodded their agreement. "She's wanted in a lot of galaxies from what SPD have said," she pointed out, and Skyfire turned away.
"That wicked witch lied to me…" he muttered.
"It's not the first time," Levi offered a sympathetic smile.
"You'll have to forgive me. It seems I was very wrong about you," he apologised as they demorphed, seeing he was no longer their enemy. "I need to fix this. Could you give me a full report of all the monsters that have attacked your planet?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure. We'd be happy to," Calvin agreed.
"Then justice will prevail," Skyfire declared. Teddie sighed as they started leading him back to their base.
"I'm calling Spence," she muttered.
"Uh, the Principal texted me an hour ago," Hayley stopped, having checked her phone. "She wants to see me," the others looked around as she frowned at her phone, confused. "I'll uh...catch up with you guys later," she offered a small smile and after kissing Calvin's cheek, she hurried off.
"Sheriff Skyfire is onto us!" Badonna wailed. "He's working with the Rangers now!" she turned to Odius, waiting for her to say something.
"Yeah, we can all see the screen," Eidolon rolled her eyes, and earned a glare.
"It's his loss," Odius dismissed the concern with a wave of her hand. "It's your turn, Blammo. Eidolon, you go with him," she ordered.
"You don't have to ask me twice," Blammo declared, ready to get into the fight.
"I want the Rangers and Skyfire blown to smithereens by sundown," Odius stood to look down on him.
"I know just where you can hide your present for them," Eidolon smirked, leading him out as Odius laughed.
"I thought you guys went out to fight one of Odius' monsters," Blake commented as the Rangers returned, bringing Skyfire with them. "I ditched my practice and everything," he complained. Hunter rolled his eyes.
"We get you're not a teacher, but you could be a little more professional about it," he told his brother, who shrugged. "But uh, yeah. What's the deal with this guy?" Hunter asked, giving Sheriff Skyfire a wary look as he looked around their base.
"He's an intergalactic Sheriff," Teddie explained, having been on the phone to her brother about the alien. "Works independently from SPD going after criminals that SPD either don't have the resources to chase down, or can't due to politics. Like Galvanax," she told them. Sheriff Skyfire nodded, pleased with her explanation.
"So why were you fighting?" Tori asked, looking from the newcomer, back to the Rangers.
"Misunderstanding," Brody offered a small smile. "Odius told him that we were thieves who stole her Prism," he looked over to the Prism in the corner.
"And you immediately went after them without any evidence. Some Sheriff," Blake snorted, and grunted when Tori jabbed him with her elbow.
"I'm sorry for my husband," she apologised, but Sheriff Skyfire quickly shook his head.
"No, he's right. I jumped to conclusions without checking all the facts. Especially as this galaxy is under the protection of SPD," he turned to the Rangers and bowed. "I'm sorry," he apologised.
"Don't worry about it," Preston smiled at him.
"Yeah, no harm done," Aaron agreed, not too upset. Sheriff Skyfire nodded at the ground, thankful for their kindness.
"Please, so I can make this up to you, tell me all you can about Madame Odius and those who work for her," he requested, ready to get back to work.
Appearing in the scrapyard behind the school that was used as both the training grounds for the Rangers, and as a place where workshop students could get what they needed, Eidolon and Blammo looked around.
"All alone! No-one can stop me!" Blammo laughed, drawing one of his explosives from his body.
"Anywhere around here will do. The Rangers train here," Eidolon told him as he set a timer. He nodded, looking for a good place to hide the explosive, before dumping it into a bin. "Now all we have to do is wait! This is it for the Rangers!" Blammo declared, and the two vanished before they could be seen.
"Thanks for the intel, Rangers. That Odius is a real piece of work," Sheriff Skyfire thanked the team as they left the base. "And thank you Teddie for getting me in touch with the Earth base for SPD. I may be independent from them, but I'll never turn down an offer to help bring justice," he nodded to Teddie, who smiled back.
"I'm just a security guard," they looked up to see Hayley talking with Clint, who was sorting recycling into the bins strapped down in a small truck. "But I try to make Summer Cove High a little nicer, a little safer, and instead of following a few simple rules, the students here make my life difficult," Skyfire hummed to himself as the Rangers all exchanged guilty looks. "Which is exactly why…" he dropped a large metal ball into one of the bins. "Right after I drop off these bins," Clint then jumped down from the truck and shut the back up. "I'm quitting," he declared, taking them all by surprise.
"Quitting?" Hayley repeated, but Clint just got into the truck and drove off.
"That doesn't sound good," Sheriff Skyfire considered as they walked over to Hayley.
"What's up Hayley?" Sarah asked, and the White Ranger turned to them, not having noticed them arrive.
"Hey guys, did you hear that?" she asked, looking worried as she glanced after the van in the distance.
"Yeah, Clint's quitting," Brody nodded.
"I didn't realise he had it so rough here," Daisy considered, folding her arms.
"I can't believe he's so upset that I broke a couple of rules," Hayley admitted, confused by his reaction.
"It's not just you, Hayley," Sheriff Skyfire told her gently. "Lots of people break rules without thinking," he pointed out. The others nodded, having to agree as they thought about their own actions. "It makes it much more difficult for lawmen like me and Clint to help you," the Sheriff said.
"Yeah, actually…" Calvin sighed, looking guilty. "Last week, Clint caught me driving my truck on the grass. I broke the sprinklers," he admitted.
"Yeah...he wrote me up for riding my hoverboard without a helmet. He was right, it is dangerous," Sarah nodded, thinking back to her reaction to Clint writing her up.
"I trashed the skeleton the other day," Aaron spoke up, rubbing the back of his head. "I was messing around with my basketball team and my throw went wide," he confessed.
"And instead of thanking him...we just complain," Preston sighed, just as guilty as the rest of them.
"Like I did today," Hayley realised, disappointed in herself.
"Put yourself in his shoes," Sheriff Skyfire put a hand on her shoulder. "And maybe you can begin to understand why he's tired of working here," he said, trying to be gentle.
"Thanks, Sheriff," Hayley nodded. "I'll try to find Clint, see if I can stop him from quitting," she considered.
"I have an idea that might help," Aaron grinned suddenly, and they looked at him.
"You're not going to use your powers, are you?" Sarah asked warily, and he rolled his eyes.
"Credit me with some boundaries, would you?" he grumbled.
"Excellent," Sheriff Skyfire nodded, pleased they had learned from their mistakes. "Now, to get back on my case, and bring Blammo here to justice," he showed them his scroll of Blammo.
"Paper? You're definitely old school," Teddie considered.
"That's who you're after? He's the ugliest monster I've ever seen," Sarah declared, making all but Hayley laugh a little. The White Ranger was frowning at the image.
"Hey, what's that in his hand?" she asked, pointing to the ball with a strange design on one side.
"One of Blammo's explosives," Skyfire said gravely, and Hayley turned pale.
"But I saw that in the trash!" she exclaimed, stammering a little in her panic. She remembered Clint lifting it as he spoke, dumping in in with the rest of the items he was recycling.
"The trash?!" the Sheriff demanded.
"It must have been meant for us!" Levi realised, looking over to the bin that usually sat in the corner while they trained.
"Where is it now?" Preston asked Hayley.
"Clint thought it was metal, so he's taking it to the recycling center!" she told them.
"We have to stop him," Daisy hissed.
"We better go fast, that explosive could go off any time!" Sheriff Skyfire warned, having seen the damage that the explosives could do.
"Sarah, Teddie, you go after him on foot. I have an idea," Hayley lifted her Blaze Zord Star with a smile. "Come on!" the team hurried out to find Clint.
'Guys! I found him!' to their relief, it didn't take long for Hayley to stop Clint's truck from the sky. 'He's on 39th Street,' she directed.
"On it, meet you there!" Teddie called.
"I'm not far, I'll try to stop him," Sarah spoke up, using her super speed to move through the streets of Summer Cove. It didn't take long for her to reach Clint as he arrived at the recycling centre, and she skidded to a stop in front of the truck, forcing him to stop. Teddie arrived almost immediately after, both of them Morphed in their Pink and Green suits.
"Holy moly!" Clint exclaimed, startled by their sudden appearance. Hayley then dropped from the sky, and her Blaze Zord flew off.
"Thanks for stopping, sir!" Hayley called as he climbed from his truck.
"What in the world?" he demanded, stunned to see the three Rangers. "You're the Power Rangers!" he gasped as they ran over to him.
"Please, stay back," Hayley requested. Dumbfounded, Clint allowed Teddie to pull him back, away from his truck.
"What's going on?" the security guard called as he watched Hayley and Sarah climb into the truck. The others arrived with Skyfire, and he gasped again. "Whoa! More Power Rangers? What are you doing here?" he asked, looking from one to another.
"Please, sir, you're in danger," Daisy warned as he took a step back towards his truck.
"We got a tip that you found a strange item in the trash," Preston explained as most of them helped Hayley and Sarah try and find what they were looking for.
"Oh, I find a lot of strange stuff," Clint laughed lightly. Sheriff Skyfire shook his head, putting a hand on Clint's shoulder.
"The item we're looking for might be an explosive planted by monsters," he warned, making the man's eyes widen.
"What?" he demanded.
"Now would be a great time for your brother to be here waving his badge," Aaron commented to Teddie.
"Do not tell him you said that. His ego is already overinflated," she rolled her eyes. "Please sir, you need to stand back," she requested, managing to pull him farther away again.
"I found it!" Brody shouted, carefully lifting it from the blue bin. "Oh no, ten seconds left, it's about to explode!" he warned.
"Leave it to me," Levi grabbed Teddie's hand, and she nodded, letting her power enhance Levi's. He moved his hands and a massive hole opened up in the ground. Brody threw the explosive in, and as Levi closed the hole back up, it exploded. Teddie moved over to Hayley as she raised a shield, protecting them from what the ground didn't as they all moved to stand in front of Clint protectively.
"Nice job guys!" Sarah cheered as the flames faded with Brody's help, and they helped the shocked security guard back to his feet.
"That was some very quick thinking from all of you," Sheriff Skyfire praised.
"Thanks," Hayley smiled. "And Clint, if you hadn't been so diligent in sorting the school's trash, we never would have found that explosive," she told him, taking him by surprise.
"Really?" he asked, and they all nodded.
"Ah!" everyone looked around quickly as Blammo appeared in a flash of yellow light, furious. "You ruined my plan!" he complained.
"Monster!" Clint yelped.
"Now I'm going to ruin all of you!" he shouted.
"Quick, get somewhere safe!" Hayley pushed Clint away, and he didn't hesitate. As he ran off, the team stood together with Sheriff Skyfire.
"Blammo! Halt in the name of the law," he warned, and Blammo gulped.
"Uh oh, it's the Sheriff…" he groaned, turning and running off. "I'm not going to the slammer!" he shouted over his shoulder as he ran.
"Let's get him!" the Rangers and Skyfire leapt over his head, blocking the monster's path.
"I'll give you one chance to surrender, Blammo," Skyfire warned.
"Not gonna happen!" the monster shouted. Skyfire sighed, and drew his sword.
"Ready, Rangers?" he called to the nine who stood with him.
"Ready!" they shouted back, grabbing their own weapons. Blammo threw an explosive, but they leapt through the attack, fighting him off.
"This Sheriff is good. I'm glad he's on our side," Daisy commented as she caught Aaron, who was shoved back by Blammo's metal armour.
"No kidding," he agreed.
"Uh oh!" Blammo gulped as he realised he was surrounded.
"Element Star, lock in!" all but Brody and Levi used the Element Stars. "Ninja Spin! Ninja Forest Attack!" they wrapped vines around Blammo, locking him into place.
"Oh no, my arms!" he yelped, struggling to no avail.
"Ninja Lightning!" Levi fired a bolt of lightning at the monster, who shrieked. There was a small explosion that ripped through the vines, and Blammo was thrown through the air.
"I am not going back to space jail!" he shrieked, flailing on the ground.
"Oh yes you are!" Sheriff Skyfire swung through on a rope as Blammo got back to his feet. He couldn't stop the attack, crying out as the Sheriff's sword cut through his armour easily.
"Curse you, Sheriff!" the monster shouted.
"Look out below!" he whirled around at Brody's shout, and took the Red Ranger's sword down his arm.
"Nice moves," Sheriff Skyfire praised him. Brody smiled proudly.
"Thanks!" he nodded as Blammo growled.
"I've got moves too!" he spun, firing lasers from his eyes. However, the two easily deflected them, and Blammo cursed. He fired another that Skyfire blocked alone, before shoving his sword out. The blast was reflected back at the monster, who screamed.
"Right on target!" Brody laughed.
"Ready to surrender?" Skyfire asked as Blammo staggered. Smoke rolled off him as he gasped for breath.
"Never!" Blammo remained stubborn, shaking his head.
"Okay then Blammo, it's time for my signature move," Skyfire raised his sword. "Sheriff Skyfire, Justice Strike!" the visor on his helmet flashed red, and he slashed down, sending a shockwave that threw Blammo across the battlefield.
"Justice?" Aaron murmured.
"Epic moves!" Brody exclaimed as Daisy elbowed her cousin. "Now let me finish him!" he raised his sword.
"Let me," Hayley requested, stopping him. "For Clint," she growled, glaring at the monster. Brody nodded.
"Great idea. A perfect time to use the SuperStar Blade," he handed over the Lion Fire Star to Hayley.
"Thanks," she smiled, lifting the sword that Sarah had made. "Lion Fire, Ninja Spin!" she combined the Star with the SuperStar Blade, and it flashed, shimmering with silver power. "Lion Moon Power!" Hayley grinned, raising the blade as the Lion Armour appeared over her suit, matching her suit colour.
"Nice," Calvin smiled widely at the powerful weapon and armour.
"Wait," Skyfire called before Hayley could attack. "Use this," he handed over his sword to her, taking her by surprise.
"Really?" she gasped.
"Of course," Skyfire pressed the handle into her hand.
"Thank you," Hayley smiled, feeling the power behind the sword.
"Two swords? I want something cool like that," Aaron complained.
"You're never happy with your lot, are you?" Teddie asked, raising an eyebrow at him. He shrugged. Hayley raised both swords, taking a breath as Blammo gulped.
"Lion Moon Burst! Justice Strike!" Hayley launched at the monster, striking him with attacks that lingered with energy to match her suit. "Final Attack!" she swung up with all her power and cut through his metal again. Blammo screamed, tossed away.
"I used to make explosions, now I am one!" he wailed, exploding.
"Justice has been served," Skyfire nodded with approval as Hayley stood tall. The other Rangers cheered her on, amazed by her power.
"I'm never surprised any more," Eidolon sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. Odius hissed a curse under her breath as Badonna gulped.
"Well, look at that!" Cosmo called on stage as the votes came in. The crowd cheered loudly. "Blammo fought the law, but the law hasn't won yet!" he declared dramatically. "Gigantify!" he slammed his hand down on the blue button to activate the laser.
"Looks like I've been bailed out!" Blammo laughed as he reappeared, towering over the city.
"Okay Sheriff, leave this to us," Brody told Sheriff Skyfire as Hayley returned his sword to him.
"Good luck, Rangers," he watched as they called on their Blaze Zords.
"Falcon Zord!"
"Serpent Zord!"
"Panda Zord!"
"Tortoise Zord!"
"Piranha Zord!"
"Tiger Zord!"
"Rabbit Zord!"
"Crane Zord!"
"Fox Zord!"
The team combined their Zords to form the Blaze Megazord, and summoned their Super Steel mode.
Blammo growled as they turned to face him. He stood tall, despite being shorter than their Megazord.
"You Rangers aren't ready for my explosive moves!" he warned.
"You've seen one, you've seen them all," Teddie rolled her eyes. They pushed the Megazord forwards and the two traded blows, but Blammo was fast, ducking under their punch before jumping onto their back. "I'll crush you into the ground!" he declared as the combined weight caused the ground to give way under the Megazord.
"We'll be okay!" Brody soothed his team. "Ninja Blaze, Fire Burst!" they threw out their arms and Blammo screamed as green flames erupted around the Megazord. He threw himself off, landing heavily. "Ninja Blaze Megazord, begin Final Attack!" Brody shouted. They all began glowing, vanishing from the cockpit.
"Ninja Blaze Megazord, Ranger Blast!" Blammo gasped as each were fired from the Megazord. "Final Attack!" they cut through the monster, landing on the ground below. Blammo screamed, collapsing in a final explosion.
"Show's over, Ninjas win!" Brody declared.
"You sure did, Rangers," they turned to Skyfire as he reached them.
"Sheriff? What's the plan now?" Teddie asked curiously.
"Well, I need to make a report with SPD. I might have broken a protocol or two in coming after you Rangers," he admitted. "Seems I need to listen to my own advice," he considered, making them smile. "Then I need to report back to command for my next assignment. Can you take care of Odius?" he asked them.
"Of course," Aaron nodded confidently.
"It's what we've been doing," Daisy laughed.
"You can count on us, Sheriff," Levi told him, and Sheriff Skyfire gave a nod of approval.
"It was great to meet you!" Preston smiled.
"And thanks again for your advice about Clint," Hayley added, approaching him.
"You're welcome, Hayley," he patted her shoulder. "Farewell, Power Rangers," he said his goodbyes as they waved, and he vanished in a flash of blue.
"Glad that's over," Brody admitted with a laugh.
"Yeah, but we still gotta help Clint," Calvin reminded him.
"Hayley and I will take care of that," Aaron said cheerfully, and they looked at him curiously, wondering just what he had planned. "Come on guys," he led them back to school.
"So when Aaron said he had an idea…"
"He of course meant we do all the hard work and he just talks up a big game," Daisy confirmed to Brody.
"You do all the hard work?" Sarah asked, wiping an oil smear from her face. "I think I did all the hard work," she told them, making them grin.
"Hey, it does look amazing," Teddie put an arm around the Pink Ranger, giggling. "I'm sure he's gonna love it," she said confidently. Sarah smiled brightly.
"Do you really think so?" she asked hopefully.
"Definitely," Calvin nodded. "Here he comes!" he hissed as Hayley and Preston walked in with Clint.
"Before you decide to resign," Hayley spoke to the tired looking security guard.
"We have a surprise for you," Preston grinned. Hayley showed the empty bottle in her hand, and threw it into the bin. His eyes widened.
"Why'd you do that? You know it's recyclable!" Clint exclaimed, wondering if she was purposely trying to wind him up before he quit. He jumped when a voice suddenly came from the bin, and a light flashed red.
'This item is recyclable,' it warned, spitting the bottle out and making him jump again as Hayley caught it.
"Thank you for the reminder," she smiled. "I'll just pop it into the correct bin," she tossed the bottle into the bin, and the light flashed green.
'Thanks for saving the planet,' the bin spoke again. Clint's jaw dropped, making Hayley laugh.
"My friends and I-" Hayley paused as Sarah cleared her throat. "Mostly Sarah, rigged it up - with a teacher supervising - so that nobody will mess up the recycling again," she announced. "We have permission from Principal Hastings to put them all around the school," Hayley explained. Sarah was almost bouncing from excitement at building even more of them.
"You guys did that...for me?" Clint asked, stunned.
"We figured we should help you out a bit," Teddie nodded.
"Listen, Clint. I'm so sorry for the way I acted earlier," Hayley apologised. "You were just trying to keep us safe, and it's really not that hard to follow the rules. I promise that from now on, I will," she told him.
"We all will," Brody added.
"So...please don't quit on us," Daisy requested. "You're the best for the job. You definitely keep us in line," she chuckled.
"She's right," Calvin agreed. "The school wouldn't be the same without you," he told the man, who smiled widely at them, touched that they'd go to such lengths for him to stay.
"Well, this job does come with its perks," Clint admitted.
"Aw, I didn't even get to try and wow him with my part of the plan," they looked around as Aaron walked in with a couple of others that they recognised as members of the basketball team. "I talked with the guys, and we all agreed that we could all do better. So after starting with fixing Victor and Monty's latest mess," he handed over the junior security badges that Clint had given the pair. Clint sighed, having hoped the responsibility would teach the two something. "We spoke with Principal Hastings and she agreed that every week a volunteer - someone maybe a little more trustworthy than Victor and Monty - will help with the recycling," Aaron told him.
"Kids will really volunteer to help with that?" Clint couldn't help but sound surprised.
"It gives them a free period at the end of the week, I'm sure we'll find some willing participants," Aaron winked, making the man laugh.
"So, you'll stay?" Hayley asked hopefully. Clint seemed to think about it for a second, before nodded.
"Yep, I'll stay," he agreed, making them smile brightly. "Now if you'll excuse me, I suppose I should check in on Victor and Monty," with a sigh, Clint turned and strode away, this time with much more purpose in his step.
"You just have to be the big hero, huh?" Daisy asked as Aaron grinned.
"Obviously," he shrugged. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a basketball to retrieve from the pile of 'treasure' those idiots took," with a cheerful wave, Aaron turned and walked away.
"You'd think he was the Captain with the way he acts," one of the others on the team rolled his eyes. "I don't know how you guys put up with him sometimes," he grinned, making it clear he wasn't serious.
"We've been wondering the same for you guys," Teddie shrugged, and they laughed before leaving too.
"Okay guys, time to get to work! We've plenty more of these to make!" Sarah called, clapping her hands together.
"Maybe after practice?" they whirled around as Hunter seemed to materialise behind them, arms folded. "You guys are already super late," he warned them gravely.
"You said it was okay since it was for a good reason," Hayley protested. He smirked.
"I know. But since your security guard has decided to stick around, I'd say your reason is less urgent now. Come on," he told them with the authority only a teacher could manage.
"How long was he here?" Preston wondered, alarmed.
"That's the problem with experienced Ninjas," Teddie sighed. "We will never know the answer to that. Let's go before he really decides to punish us," they all groaned, and traipsed off, nowhere near ready for another tough training session.
I didn't really like that Brody was the one to show off with Skyfire's sword when it was supposed to be Hayley learning a lesson this episode, so I switched it up ;)
