Chapter 14 The call to action
It's been about week since the hostage situation regarding the foreigners entering the country and since Norris was temporarily suspended for nearly making the US look like it caved in under Terrorist threats.
Since then things have been peaceful again and the incident has been forgotten in the minds of the country.
Right now Sean was asleep next to Korra both naked as she buried her face into his chest enjoying the peace and quiet.
Thats when Sean kissed her forehead making her smile before she wrapped her arms around his head and kissed him.
"HEY LOVE BIRDS!" Will yelled downstairs making Sean growl in annoyance while Korra sighed since Will did this on a weekly basis.
"Will I swear to god!" Sean said annoyed as he got dressed before jumping down the stairs. "I would like..." Sean tried to say before he saw Mitchell with him.
"Hey buddy." Mitchell said making him chuckle.
"Well, if you said he was here I would be less annoyed." Sean said getting into an arm lock with him.
"Whats going on?" Korra asked coming down fully dressed before seeing him. "Oh, I know you. I saw you in that construction video you guys made." Korra said remembering the video Sean showed them when they went to invite Mako and Bolin to the island.
"Oh you showed her that?" Mitchell asked making him chuckle.
Later
Sean and Korra were back at the labs as Sean worked on a new Exo Suit for combat.
"I just realized something. You said Mitchell is Will's best friend." Korra said.
"Yeah so?" Sean asked.
"How come I haven't seen him till now?" Korra asked.
"He doesn't work for Atlas. He's with the Marines in the army. Will and I stayed with Atlas for the more dangerous stuff. Just because we get all the high tech stuff doesn't mean everyone wants to work at Atlas." Sean said.
"I guess that makes sense. So why didn't he show up after Cinder and Malefor attacked you after 15 years?" Korra asked.
"Overseas. He can't just leave his post at the drop of a hat. No doubt he wanted to but he takes orders." Sean said before the news turned on about alarming tensions between North and South Korea. "Fucking idiots." Sean said.
"Let me guess. These countries have issues?" Korra asked.
"More than you can imagine. Those two are always at each other's throats. Hence why neither one have an Avatar so they don't misuse them." Sean said.
"What do you mean by that?" Korra asked.
"In order to make the world more stabilized in certain ways the more stable countries have at least one or 2 avatars keeping the peace. For instants the US has me and Turok and we're two of the strongest. Russia has Reznov and London has Julia. These three are considered the leading factions of the UN because of this. Other countries have Avatars of elements like Egypt having the Avatar of Water. Brazil has the Avatar of Fire and Australia has the Avatar of Earth." Sean said.
"So they're divided to balance out power and elements where they can do some good." Korra said.
"Exactly. Of course North and South Korea have made bogus claims they both should have an Avatar but because of the issues the two have with one another the UN agreed they wouldn't have one until they put their petty differences aside which kinda pissed them off." Sean said.
"I'm surprised they haven't gone to war with each other if they're that unstable." Korra said.
"Well, I would expect it soon. They used to be on good terms until after the last generation was killed off and are the way they are now. And both countries suffered greatly for the loss Ariac put the world through with his virus." Sean said.
"Everything bad in the world seems to be related to them." Korra said.
"Yeah but now we know there was something pulling the strings. Whatever it was I doubt we'll see now." Sean said before an Alert came up making him narrow his eyes before the screens lit up showing General Shepherd. "I'm gonna take a shot and guess one of the two just invaded the other." Sean said.
"North Korea just invaded Seoul. We're being called in to stabilize the situation. You're up." Shepherd said making him nod.
"Again?" Korra asked making him sigh.
"It's comes with the Job." Sean said.
Later
Sean, Will and Mitchell were on a carrier right above South Korea.
"Like basic training." Will said.
"Somehow I get the feeling this is gonna be one major league pain in the ass." Sean said seeing everyone with the new Exo suits on.
"All right, All right. Listen up!" Cormack said getting everyone's attention. "We have our orders. Inserting an LZ Epsilon. Down and dirty just like we taught you. Everybody know what's going on? Everybody know where they are going?" Cormack questioned.
"Ooo-Rah!" The Marines yelled.
"Everybody Ready!" Cormack asked getting the same reply. "Mitchell, Irons and Kruger Lead out!" Cormack yelled getting them to do that.
"And here we go again." Sean said as his group made it into a drop pod before they strapped in.
"Heres where the fun begins." Will said.
"Everyone hold tight." Cormack said before the pods launched and a screen appeared above them showing the carrier before it was shot down by rockets from the ground before the pod flipped upside down to show the ground they were heading for.
"SHIT! Command we're taking heavy fire here!" Sean said on comms.
"Roger that Lieutenant. Adjusting your trajectory now." Command said before they got hit.
Thats when the door came open and one of the men almost flew out had Cormack not grabbed him before Sean pulled the lever shutting the door.
"Reseting drop point." Cormack said as the screen lit back up before showing they were heading for a building.
"SHIT!" Will yelled.
"BRACE!" Sean yelled as they crashed into it before they crashed into another building.
"Still in one piece?" Will asked making Sean groan as his right arm was pinned before Sean's left hand had the claws out before freeing himself.
"This is why I prefer going by ground when doing these missions." Sean said before slashing the door open as they jumped out.
Looking out they saw several pods landing.
"All right let's move. Demo team is waiting for us." Cormack said before Koreans came out and started firing at them but Sean took the bullets as he healed instantly.
"Ok that just pissed me off." Sean said before dashing to them and cut them to shreds as they screamed in pain.
"Yikes. I guess the rumors about Stryker turning those claws metal were true." Mitchell said.
"Oh you have no idea. Think of every rare metal combined into one." Will said as they made their way down to the lower levels before taking enemy fire.
"You'd think these idiots would learn." Sean said before pulling out a smart Grenade before throwing it in the air before it flew to the enemy and killed them on contact.
"Advanced warfare. Gotta love the perks." Will said firing at the rest of them before the building started to collapse killing the enemy on the other side while their team was unharmed.
"Lets move out." Cormack said as they moved down lower.
Arriving to the lower levels they saw the rest of their forces arriving.
"SHIT!" Sean yelled as another building fell down. "Man those idiots are acting no better than my aunt and uncles." Sean said pissed off knowing rebuilding was gonna take a while.
"Lets move." Cormack said as they rushed to where they were supposed to meet up with the Demo team.
"Wheres the fucking Demo team?" Will asked.
"They moved on without ya! Thought you didn't make it."
"Oh thats just great!" Sean yelled pissed off before the ground started shaking making them look seeing a Jaeger walking through the city before tearing down another building. "HEY! Those are supposed to be restricted to Atlas! They violated the Accords!" Sean yelled. (Picture Obsidian Fury)
"No doubt the UN is really gonna tear them a new one now." Cormack said before Sean glowed turning into his battle spirit and roared loudly at it before jumping on it as they crashed into a building.
"That should keep the thing busy." Will said as they rushed off to find the Demo team.
Sean roared as he breathed green fire at the Jaeger before a blade came out that had fire on it and tried to slash him only for him to smack it away with his tail and bites down onto the arm but got shocked making him roar.
"SWARM!" Mitchell yelled as flying robotic drones started attacking them.
"SHIT!" Will yelled as they fired at them.
"Irons! Get on that turret now! Activate an EMP!" Cormack yelled.
"Roger that!" Will yelled rushing to it.
Sean continued to fight the Jaeger before it tried to stab him again only for it to graze him on the side before Sean used the spikes on his back to cut the left arm off.
"LOOK OUT!" Mitchell yelled as the arm crashed down onto half the drones.
"That makes this easier." Will said firing at the drones as the turret built up an EMP.
Sean roared as he smacked the Jaeger away before jumping on it's back and bite the head before pulling it off before it crashed down into the ground before Sean turned human again just as Will activated the EMP destroying the drones.
"When I get my hands on the the PM I am going to kick his ass for breaking the accords." Sean said.
"Get in line. Let's move." Cormack said as they rushed forward.
Arriving inside one building they saw their target a heavy missile launcher flying away.
"Fuck! They took out the whole street." Will said.
"Mother fuckers are taking out major roads to prevent our tanks from moving in. We gotta hook up with the Demo team and take that fucking thing out." Sean said.
"Right. Let's move." Cormack said.
Moving through the subway they were about to open a gate when the ceiling came down.
"Hold fire!" Gideon yelled.
"Christ Gideon! The hell are you doing here?" Sean asked.
"Escorting a principle to an LZ. It's a bloody mess out there." Gideon said.
"Any sign of that launcher?" Will asked.
"About a click or two that way." Joker said.
"Good enough. Run into the Demo team?" Sean asked.
"No. Best of luck." Gideon said rushing off with precious Cargo.
"Lets move." Cormack said as they rushed forward.
Fighting their way through the enemy they came to the launcher.
"Theres the damn launcher but where the hell is the Demo team?" Will asked.
"Ah shit." Sean said spotting them dead across from them. "We can't afford to wait. We gotta do this ourselves." Sean said.
"Right. We'll lay down cover fire. You and Will plant those explosives." Cormack said.
"Ok let's get this over with." Sean said as they rushed through.
Reaching the explosives they fought their way to the launcher.
"This is easy." Will said.
"Don't tempt fate." Sean said handing him the explosives.
"Oh relax." Will said putting them inside. "Now lets...AHHH!" Will yelled as the door slammed on his arm.
"What did I just say!" Sean yelled trying to pull it open but couldn't. "IT WON'T OPEN!" Sean yelled.
"My arm is broken. Got any ideas?" Will asked as Sean's claws came out. "Ah Shit! DO IT!" Will yelled as Sean sliced his hand off making him yell in pain before Sean grabbed him and jumped off just as it exploded before the debris flew everywhere before one piece of Shrapnel flew at Mitchel and cut his left arm off making him yell pain.
"SHIT! I need medevac at my location ASAP!" Sean yelled.
"Roger that."
Later
Korra rushed through the medical wing of Atlas before coming to one room seeing Sean being examined but looked fine making her sigh in relief.
"Relax Korra. I've done this plenty of times." Sean said before he was done and put his shirt and jacket back on.
"What about Will?" Korra asked.
"AH he was lucky. All he lost was an arm. Had to cut it off or lose him. That choice was clear." Sean said making her smile.
"What about Mitchell?" Korra asked.
"Same thing though he lost it because of flying Shrapnel. Both are gonna need cybernetics for now. We are working on skin and bone regeneration technology but it's in testing phase." Sean said as they left.
"OW! Fuck!" Will yelled getting injected with a healing agent as they walked in.
"What did we learn? Do not tempt fate." Sean said making him snort.
"Oh please that could have happened even if I didn't say that." Will said as Irons walked in.
"You boys ok?" Irons asked his sons.
"Ah we'll live. What about North Korea?" Will asked.
"Because they clearly violated the accords currently leadership has been arrested and imprisoned for life. New leaders are set to take their place in a few weeks." Irons said.
"What are the accords?" Korra asked.
"The Accords are that certain technology like the Jaegers are only allowed to be used by Atlas during dangerous operations. But because North Korea made their own with Illegal weapons they violated those accords and have to pay the price." Sean said.
"Still you can't deny that was a cool looking Jaeger." Will said.
"Mine are better." Sean said making him snort.
Later
"And you seriously go through this on a yearly basis?" Korra asked.
"For now. Once we take charge this will become extremely rare to non existent. Theres always gonna be some issues in the world since humans are a flawed species. But theres always hope." Sean said making her smile before kissing him.
"So Will and Mitchell will be getting Cybernetics to replace what they lost. Which reminds me how come you don't have any?" Korra asked.
"I prefer to stay human since Magic dwarfs science any day so naturally I have the advantage." Sean said.
"I still don't get that concept about how one is stronger than the other." Korra said.
"You will in time with training. But thats gonna be held off until this comes out in 9 months." Sean said holding her stomach making her smile. "That reminds me you have a doctor's appointment to check up on the baby." Sean said.
"Ok." Korra said before they sat back and watched another Movie.
Authors Note: So Will and Mitchell lost an arm each and now get cybernetics to currently replace them. Now Next Chapter is gonna be different but exciting.
