Chapter 14 – just a little spy craft
It was Saturday morning today was the day. It was 6:30 in the morning when Stevie woke up Elizabeth. "Mom is it time to go to Melissa's yet." Elizabeth groaned. "Stevie its 6:30 in the morning are you serious right now?" Henry woke up and sent Stevie downstairs telling her he would be down in a minute and they could make breakfast. "How ya feeling babe?" Henry asks pulling Elizabeth in for a kiss. "I would be better if your daughter hadn't woken me up at 6:30 in the morning" she whined "Henry chuckled "My daughter huh?" "yes at 6:30 on a Saturday she is your daughter!" Elizabeth kissed him and rolled back over putting the covers over her head.
Henry went downstairs and Stevie had already got the ingredients out for breakfast. "Dad what time do I get to go to Melissa's today?" "Not until 3 Stevie you have lots of time left" Henry answered her while getting the griddle out and turning it on. Elizabeth came down dressed in her barn clothes. "since I am up so early, I am going to go ride for a while." She kissed Stevie on the head before wandering over to Henry. "Don't wait on me for breakfast I will just grab an apple and piece of toast. Henry put 2 pieces of bread in the toaster while Elizabeth poured herself and Henry a cup of coffee. Stevie why don't you go up and get dressed and then we will work on the pancakes" Henry instructed his oldest daughter so he could talk to Elizabeth for a moment.
"Babe are you nervous for tonight?" Henry asked Elizabeth pulling her in for a hug.
"Not so much nervous as I am scared for Kasey, what if she gets more traumatized from this or are plan doesn't work and we have put her in this position for nothing." Elizabeth took a deep breath and pulled Henry in closer to her.
"we are going to try our best we have went through tons of sceneries with her she knows there is a chance it won't work but I think Jack is just narcissistic enough that it will work." Henry tried to reassure her.
She pulled away as the toast popped up, buttering her toast she ask, "what time did Dolly say we could drop the kids by?"
She said around 3:00 she has some papers to grade this afternoon but would be done by 3 and that will give us enough time to set up before everyone gets here. What time is Blake getting here?" He starts to mix the ingredients for the pancakes.
" Babe you better wait or Stevie is going to have a fit you said she could help, Blake and Kasey will be here at 4:30. Isobel and George will be here at 5 and the party starts at 6." Elizabeth answered
Henry stopped in his tracks remembering Stevie was supposed to help with this part. He went and stood next to Elizabeth putting one arm around her shoulder pulling him close to his side as she ate her toast. "babe it will be ok I promise" Henry tried to reassure her.
Elizabeth finished one piece of toast and handed the other to Henry kissing him. She grabbed her jacket and headed to the barn she needed to clear her head. Stevie hearing the door shut yelled to see if she could come down yet. "Ya sweetheart that's fine" Henry answered Stevie came down the stairs followed by Jason and Ali. All three were dressed. "I had them get dressed before they came down so you and mom could finish talking. Jason's shirt is on backwards, but he didn't want my help." Stevie explained to her dad.
"can I watch tv" Jason asked his dad with just a little bit of pleading involved. "No buddy why don't you find something without a screen to-do for a while. Henry suggested to Jason "Hey noodle do you want to color with your brother for a while" Henry asked his middle daughter she was a good big sister
"sure, daddy I will go get my coloring stuff" Ali said excitedly
"I don't want to color; I want to watch cartoons" Jason whined.
"sorry buddy no tv but you can find something else to do" Henry smiled at Jason and went back to helping Stevie with the pancakes.
Jason decided to sit and color with Ali thou he would much rather be watching tv. He knew that Melissa's mommy would put a movie on for them tonight and let them eat popcorn. Henry and Stevie made pancakes and Bacon and they sat down to eat breakfast.
Meanwhile Elizabeth had saddled up Buttercup and was running him around the property up to her look out spot. At the edge of their property was a beautiful ledge overlooking a River and when the sun hit it exactly right it was the most magnificent sight to see. The river was surrounded by trees. Elizabeth got down and sat on the bench her and Henry had put out here as one of their first projects when they moved in. It had a plaque on it that read in memory of Suzanne and Benjamin Adams. Elizabeth would come up here and talk to her parents and tell them all about her life and ask them questions. Sometimes she would come out with Henry or the kids but usually it was reserved just for her.
Elizabeth told her parents all about Kasey. How Kasey had been invited to Professors Crisp home for a student get together. This was not uncommon most professors did this at one point or another. Henry had done it several times over the years. It was a way to get to know your students better as most of their classes had over 100 students and it was hard to get to know them. It was common and encouraged for professors to do this. In fact, her and Henry were hosting one tonight at their house. Religion and politics students combined should be interesting. What is that they say don't talk about religion or politics. She laughed to herself it should be an interesting night. She continued to ramble to as she told her parents about the plan and hoping it would work that he needed to face justice for what he did. Jacks wife was out of town with their kids tonight so that was one less worry. Her house would be full of the religion professors and the Political science department professors. Normally you would just invite the students, but they needed Jack to show up, so they had to invite some professors also. Thankfully only Mike B could come from the political science department. Mike had become a good friend and Kasey had given her permission to fill Mike in also. Mike was enraged and wanted some old school justice, but Elizabeth had a different plan in mind. She was not sure how many professors from the Religion and ethics building were coming. She just knew Jack was coming and that is what mattered. As she continued to ramble to her parents she started to feel better. She then told them about how the kids were doing. How Ali already had a great fashion since, how she got an artsy kid she didn't understand as her and Henry were both Nerds, but she loved that her Noodle loved all things art. She talked about how Jason was sweet, and a momma's boy and he would still cuddle with her sometimes. How Stevie was the best big sister and was Nerd smart just like she was. Was and still am she laughed at herself again. She talked to her Parents about Henry. How he was the most amazing man, husband and father and they would have loved him. She talked about how patient he is and how loving he is with her. She looked at her watch it was already 11am she thought she should head back as Henry would start to worry, she told her parents she loved them, climbed back up on Buttercup and headed backdown towards the barn.
"Hey Mitch, how's it going?" Elizabeth asks as she walked buttercup into the barn to brush him down.
"Hey Liz its going good, that women, l I told you about well guess what? She agreed to go back out with me. She is amazing Liz I think you will like her. We have been out a few times she is pretty great." Mitch was excited talking about her. Mitch had been married for a few years in his 20 but his wife and cheated on him and hurt him bad and had been single for a long time.
"Hey that's awesome we will have to double date sometime. Do you want me to put buttercup in the pasture with the rest of the horses" Elizabeth asked Mitch when she was done brushing him down
"No, its ok, you head inside, and I will put her out there." Mitch took buttercup and started heading for the pasture.
Elizabeth got inside as Henry was getting stuff out to make lunch. "Hey babe did you have a good talk and ride? Henry walked over pulling her into a hug and kissed her cheek.
"talk? Who do you think I talked to?" Elizabeth probed
Henry pulled her in tighter, "babe I know you go up and talk to your parents and I think it's amazing as long as you tell them good things about me" he winked and pulled away to get lunch going.
"I am going to go shower; you might know me to well Dr. McCord" Elizabeth joked with him as she went up the stairs.
Henry finished up lunch right as Elizabeth was coming down the stairs. They sat down and ate together Stevie had spent all morning asking if it was 3:00 yet. Ali and Jason had fought over the green crayon even though there were 12 different green crayons they both wanted the same green crayon. Henry looked exhausted. After lunch Elizabeth took Jason upstairs and laid him down for a nap and Henry turned on cartoons for the girls. "I am going to lay down for a little bit if you need anything you can come get me unless mom is down here and then ask her." Henry warned the girls giving them both a kiss on their head as he headed up stairs. Elizabeth was headed back downstairs when she saw Henry. "what are you up to mister? She asks stepping in front of him pulling him into a hug. "I am going to go lay down for a bit you can join me if you want, I really am just going to close my eyes for a little bit." He explained "Babe you go rest I am going to go clean up lunch and hang out with the girls for a while.
Henry went to their room and crashed while Elizabeth went downstairs and cleaned up the kitchen. She switched over their laundry and started another load. She folded the first load and had Ali and Stevie go put their clothes away. She left Jason's and hers and Henry's tell after nap. She then sat down with the girls and cuddled up with them watching cartoons. Jason came down the stairs about 2:30 and poked his mom on her shoulder she and the girls had fallen asleep. Elizabeth jumped up not realizing she had fell asleep. She looked at her watch and had the girls go grab their overnight bag and Jason's while she and Jason went and woke up Henry.
"Babe wake up its 2:30 we need to head over to drop the kids off with Dolly". Henry rubbed his eyes to see his beautiful wife standing next to his bed with their son curled up in her arms. He fell in love with her all over again. She was such a good mom and he loved that she had chosen him. Once she got passed the combat boots anyway, she had chosen him. He got out of bed pulling them into a hug kissing Jason's cheek before kissing Elizabeth. "Eww daddy don't" Jason whined pushing his dad away from his mommy. They both laughed and went and loaded the kids into the car. They drove to Dolly's house reminding the kids once they were almost there that they needed to listen to Dolly and not give her any trouble. "Stevie just because you and Melissa are friends doesn't mean that you leave your siblings out. You make things easier for Dolly please" Henry warned
They unloaded the kids Stevie running ahead not being able to wait one more second to play with Melissa. She knocked on their door. Elizabeth and Henry were just walking up when Dolly answered the door. "Come on in guys" Dolly was laughing. They sat and talked for a while and planed a cranium night next weekend. Elizabeth told her to call if she needed anything. She gave her a kiss on the cheek before her and Henry got back into the car and headed back to the Farm. "babe how ya doing?" henry asked resting his hand on her thigh. "I am ok promise I am just thankful that we have such an amazing support system" Elizabeth rested her hand on Henry's, and they drove in silence back to the farm
Henry and Elizabeth worked to make sure the house was cleaned up they switched and folded the laundry and got it put away. Henry worked on making some appetizers. After Henry had prepped all he could it was 4:30. "Babe I am going to shower really quick before people get here" Henry kissed her cheek as he headed up stairs.
There was a knock on the door it was Kasey and Blake. Elizabeth invited them in and offered them a drink. Neither of them was 21 but she offered other beverages. Kasey was nervous but seemed to be doing ok. Elizabeth went over the plan with her one more time to make sure she was comfortable. She gave them a tour of the main floor of their house no one would be allowed in the basement or upstairs. This way it was better controlled. They had invited about 30 students is all so the house would not be overcrowded and they would have better control. Henry came down the stairs kissing Elizabeth on the cheek putting one arm around her shoulder pulling her in close to his side. "Kasey how are you doing. I am sorry about that night if I would have known I would have never left. I am sorry we will get you justice one way or another" Henry promised making Kasey feel a little bit better she was still nervous, but she trusted Blake and Elizabeth 100% she was trying to trust Henry also.
At 5:00 on the dot the doorbell rang, and Kasey jumped. "don't worry it's just my friends that are going to help us out" Elizabeth reassured her. Henry went and answered the door, shaking Georges hand as he came in and kissing Isobel's cheek. They went to the spare bedrooms first were they did some work there they then did some work in the hallway before heading to the kitchen and dining room and living room. They had already done some work out front, so they went out back and did some work out back. They then came in and Isobel asked Kasey to come with her. Kasey was nervous and ask if Blake could come. Isobel looked at Elizabeth to make sure it was ok, and Elizabeth nodded. Blake and Kasey went with Isobel. George went out to his van to test everything and make sure it was working.
About 6:30 the doorbell started ringing with guest filling in. Elizabeth and Henry greeting them at the door. When Mike arrived, she introduced him to Kasey. Mike was going to keep a distant eye on her and make sure he could always see her. Jack got there around 7:15 and it seemed like he had already had a few drinks. Henry had a hard time pretending that he did not want to murder Jack with his bare hands, but he was able to control himself. Elizabeth and henry mingled with the kids. Each making sure to keep an eye out on what was going on. Henry ended up in the living room with a whole group of religion and political science students listening to him. They were all girls but who was keeping track.
It was about 11pm when henry thought he heard someone scream. The house was full of people. More kids coming than they had invited. Henry went down the hallway and opened the first spare bedroom no one was in there. He opened the bathroom door, and it was empty also. He got to the second spare bedroom and the door was locked. He had a key somewhere but could not remember where. He stepped back and kicked open the door afraid of what he was going to find.
The next morning came way to early. It had been a late night; he was glad his kids were not here. He was glad they had such amazing friends and that the plan had worked and even better they had caught him red handed. Not so good for the girl but Henry was able to kick open the door before anything had happened. Mike had heard the scream to and got to the door as Henry was kicking it open. Henry restrained the professor while Mike got the girl out of the room and sat her in the hallway and went and got Elizabeth. Elizabeth went and sat with the girl she was young and in Elizabeth's classes. She was completely out of it and probably wouldn't even remember what happened. Elizabeth helped her up and took her to sit on the couch in the living room. Mike asked all the guest to leave and reminded them that they had ride shares waiting for anyone who was drinking.
While Mike was kicking the guest out the front door the sheriff was coming in the back door to arrest Jack. They had the sheriff on standby just in case they needed him he was out back talking with Mitch. So, when George saw jack grab the girl and force her into the room, he called the Sheriff and told him it was time. George also caught on camera Jack putting a pill into the girls drink before offering it to her just like they suspected he had done to Kasey.
Just a few minutes before George had also caught and heard the conversation that happened in the hallway. Kasey had gone to use the restroom in the hallway when she came out of the bathroom jack was in the Hallway.
"Professor I don't remember much from that night just waking up the next morning in your bed and my whole body hurt. Did you put something in my drink? I am not going to say anything I just need to know what happened. I don't remember anything." Kasey asked Jack in an innocent voice.
"it was just a little pill to help you relax. You were flirting with Professor McCord but when I tried to flirt you weren't' interested and walked away. I brought you a drink to help you relax you were not going to drink it, but I told you how rude it was not to accept a drink form your professor. So, you gulped it down before turning and walking away from me." Jack was telling her the story like he was a hero just helping her out. "So, you finally started to relax and that's when I came to talk to you, the party was dwindling down by then there was just a few guest left. So, I left you on the couch and went to tell them goodbye. When I came back you were very relaxed and so we had the most amazing sex, first on my couch. Then on my counter on my kitchen and Finally in my bed. You were amazing and I want to do that again" Jack whispered as he went to grab her arm Mike B came around the corner.
"Kasey, Blake was looking for you he said you owe him a game of chess. You guys are such dorks I swear." Mike continued to walk towards Kasey. He stuck his hand out to shake Jacks hand and reintroduce himself while Kasey walked away.
After the Sherriff had put Jack in the back of his cop car, he collected all the evidence from George. They removed all the cameras and listening devices out of the house and put the house. The ambulance had come for the girl from the room to make sure she was going to be ok. Kasey and Blake left to go to the police station to make their statements. Elizabeth and Henry said goodbye to their guest before curling up. Elizabeth felt guilty about the young girl and what could of happened to her. She curled up to Henry and cried as she wasn't sure what that girl would remember but didn't feel like she had kept her safe. There was nothing Henry could say so he just held her close and let her cry. They fell asleep curled up together.
Sunday morning Elizabeth got up and went to the hospital to visit the young girl. She didn't remember much. Elizabeth explained everything to her and apologized to her. The girl said she was ok, and she was glad they had gotten the bad guy and reassured Elizabeth that she was ok and was glad that she was able to help catch him red handed. Elizabeth gave her a hug and they left. Elizabeth still felt guilty but was glad the young girl was ok.
Henry and Elizabeth went to Dolly's house and they all had lunch together and hung out talking while the kids played. They left Dolly's about 4 and headed back to the farm. Henry said he would start on making supper while Elizabeth went and rode butter cup for a while. None of the kids wanted to ride so Elizabeth went alone which she was secretly grateful for. She rode up to her spot looking over the river and talked to her parents for a while. When she got back to the house supper was ready. Henry pulled her in and hugged her tightly giving her a kiss on her cheek. "did you have a nice talk" Elizabeth kissed him passionately and held on to him tightly.
They sat down for supper, the kids excitedly told them about how Dolly set up a movie and they had popcorn with candy and marshmallows and watched movies. Elizabeth listened and smiled enjoying listening to her kids even when they started arguing over what was the better movie. She sat back and just smiled at Henry. He looked up and smiled back both enjoying the innocence of that their children brought to this world. After supper they did bedtime routine together. Elizabeth just needed to feel close to Henry. Once all the kids were in bed Henry and Elizabeth curled up together and held each other close.
Monday morning there was talk all over the college about the Jack and what had happened over the weekend. Thankfully, no one knew about Kasey or the name of the other young girl, but Elizabeth knew it would come out eventually. The young girls name was Emily, and she was in Elizabeth's first class on Monday morning. Elizabeth asked Emily to stay a moment after class. Emily came down the stairs she seemed happy and appeared to be doing ok but Elizabeth needed to check. Emily promised Elizabeth that she was ok "please don't worry nothing happened and I am ok" Emily reassured Elizabeth. "what if your name gets out there in the midst of court." Elizabeth asked Emily concern written all over Elizabeth's face. "Then it gets out there it isn't a big deal I promise." Emily hugged Elizabeth and turned around and walked back out of the room.
Elizabeth walked back to her office and sat at her desk for a moment just needing to think. She needed to get over this everyone was ok. Kasey was going to a therapist, Emily seemed fined. Jack was in jail. She took a deep breath and got to work. It would all be ok. The rest of the day seemed to drag on she was able to meet Henry for an early supper and they went to their favorite Diner. Elizabeth was feeling much better and was enjoying Henry's company. She laid her head on his shoulder "thank you babe for always loving me and just being here" Elizabeth lifted her head and kissed Henry's cheek.
The rest of the week went off with out a hitch with nothing crazy happening which Elizabeth was grateful for. Saturday night they were going to have cranium nite. Dolly and John had come over along with Isobel and her latest boyfriend Chris. Mike B showed up with his date of the week Amy. The kids were all staying with Ms. Janie. They drank and Elizabeth kicked their ass at cranium. Henry was sure Amy cried at one point. Elizabeth shot Mike down several times and noticed he was trying to flirt with Isobel who couldn't have been less interested. They had lots of fun, several times Elizabeth and Dolly were laughing so hard they were crying. Mike and Amy left after getting into a fight and Amy throwing something at Mike. Isobel and Chris left next with Dolly and John following close behind.
"can I just say it was an amazing night" Elizabeth said sliding her arms around Henry's waist
"Babe we had so much fun lets do a cranium night once a month" Henry pulled Elizabeth closer leaning down pulling her into a kiss.
"you will make that happen right, please make that happen" Elizabeth intensified the kiss and started unbuttoning Henry's shirt
"I was going to go to bed babe do you have something else in mind?" Henry teased as he pulled Elizabeth's shirt up over her head
"nope I don't have anything in mind we can go to bed" Elizabeth teased back before grabbing his waist and pulling him in to another kiss.
"Are you tired' henry asked before planting a sweet kiss to her lips.
"yes" Elizabeth asked smirking
"you are?" Henry smirking and planting another kiss
"no, no I am not why got any ideas" Elizabeth laughed
Henry picked up Elizabeth and slammed her against the wall kissing her grinding into her pushing her more into the wall both groaning and moaning into each other. Henry used his mouth to grab on her breast and bite, and suck as she moaned out and ground into him scratching at his back trying to pull him closer. She moved her hands to his waist to try to undo Henry's pants. Henry put Elizabeth down for a second as they both worked to remove each other's pants. Once they got their pants off henry pushed her back against the wall and fell to his knees putting one of her legs over his shoulder taking her core into his mouth making her moan in pleasure. Sunday morning around 10 Henry woke up to the sound of there children coming in through the front door. Henry woke up first looking at the clock realizing that Ms. Janie was bringing the kids back around 10 and they were here. He jumped up pulling out a pair of pajama pants and throwing them on before throwing a blanket over Elizabeth who was sprawled out naked and snoring on the bed. Henry stopped for a second to take in her beauty. He was standing there starting when Stevie opened their bedroom door. Henry quickly shushed Stevie and went out in the hallway shutting the door behind him so Elizabeth could sleep. He went downstairs and thanked Ms. Janie. She told him kids had breakfast and they were ready to go for the day. Henry asked the kids if they wanted to go outside and play. He grabbed a coffee and went and sat on the porch swing while his kids played.
Elizabeth woke up and went to reach for Henry and noticed the bed was cold. She got up looked at the clock and realized it was 10:45. She jumped in the shower real quick filling gross from there extracurricular activities the night before. She threw on a pair of jeans and one of Henry's old sweaters and went downstairs to try to find her family. They were not inside but heard some giggles coming from outside. She grabbed a cup of coffee and poured one for Henry figuring if he had coffee it would be cold by now. She went out back and went to sit on the porch swing. Henry was pushing Ali on the swings in between chasing Jason around and watching Stevie on the monkey bars. She was quite sure she was drooling watching her husband who was hot anyways with his pj pants hanging low on his hips. Watching him play with the kids was so ridiculously hot. They didn't see her sitting there so she sat and watched for a while just enjoying the beauty. Henry was chasing Jason when he noticed Elizabeth sitting there with the most beautiful smile, he wasn't sure she had ever looked so happy and beautiful he walked up the porch and planted a sweet kiss on her cheek. "Good morning babe did you sleep good? You look beautiful by the way" Henry continued to plant kisses on her around her jaw line before kissing her and Deepening it as he placed on hand on the back of her neck pulling her closer
"Eww you guys are gross. Dad bet you can't catch me" Jason pulled at his dads' shirt and then ran as Henry turned to chase him turning around quickly to smile at Elizabeth "love you babe bet you can't catch us either! Henry issued her a challenge. Elizabeth took the challenge and set her coffee cup down before getting up and running after Jason pulling him into her arms and falling to the ground placing kisses on him. Stevie and Ali came running and piled on Elizabeth. Elizabeth opened her arms pulling them all down taking turns tickling them. "Daddy save us" Ali squealed. "ya daddy save us" Stevie laughed. Henry came over and picked up Elizabeth and told the kids to run. All 3 kids took of running while Henry tickled Elizabeth making her Squeal. "Jason come save me" Elizabeth yelled out knowing her momma's boy would come save her. Jason came running over trying to knock his dad down. Henry scooped him up and started tickling him. "mommy mommy help me" Jason begged between laughing. Elizabeth started tickling Henry and pulling Jason away. Jason wrapped his arms around Elizabeth's neck and Elizabeth took off running. "girls help me get mommy and Jason" Henry yelled out asking the girls for help who ran towards Elizabeth with Henry they took Elizabeth and Jason to the ground and were tickling them. Jason was the first to whine that he was hungry. Elizabeth looked at her watch and it was already noon. "babe why don't you shower, and I will get the kids lunch." Elizabeth kissed Henry and smiled. "dad please can you make us lunch instead" Stevie whined, and everyone laughed
They went inside and Henry made lunch and they sat down together and ate lunch. "can dad go shower now while we clean up" Elizabeth looked at Stevie with a smirk.
"ya that's fine mom your good at cleaning up" Stevie quipped back, and Henry got up quickly and headed up stairs so Elizabeth would not see his smirk.
Elizabeth and Stevie cleaned up lunch and Elizabeth took Jason upstairs for a nap. "mommy I am not tired can't I please stay awake I won't be naughty I swear."
"tell you what buddy you don't have to sleep but you do need to lay down for a little while" Elizabeth kissed his head and walked out knowing he would be asleep in minutes. She went downstairs and checked on the girls who were watching a movie. "do either of you girls want to go ride?" Elizabeth asked kissing the top of there heads. "no mama we want to watch this movie will you please watch with us" Ali begged. Elizabeth really wanted to go ride but she also loved to snuggle with her babies. She decided to sit down between the girls. A few minutes later Henry came down and picked up Ali holding her in his lap and sat down next to Elizabeth pulling her close to him. They sat and watched the latest Disney movie.
Jason came downstairs a couple hours later having woke up from his nap. "mom you said I didn't have to sleep" Jason whined.
"you didn't have to sleep did you fall asleep?" Elizabeth asked
"yes but I wasn't tired did you use your superpowers? Jason climbed up in his mom's lap.
"mom doesn't have superpowers nerd" Stevie quipped back
"yes she does, and she used them to make me sleep which isn't fair" Jason pouted.
"Mom does have superpowers you guys have no idea" Henry jumped in winking at Elizabeth and Elizabeth elbowed him in the ribs.
Elizabeth shut the tv and told the kids it was time to go ride the horses. Stevie whined it was not fair that dad did not have to ride the horses. Henry said he would go ride with them and Elizabeth rolled her eyes as Henry was not good at riding horses not at all it was more work when he chooses to go.
They got the horses saddled up and took them on the short trail. She knew no one was super excited to ride but Elizabeth. The horses needed that human interaction and Elizabeth knew it. After they did the small trail Elizabeth had them brush down their horses and then put them in the pasture. She was going to take buttercup to run. Henry helped the kids get the horses brushed and put into the pasture. They went back to the back yard for the kids to play while Elizabeth was out running Buttercup. Elizabeth just did a small run as she really wanted to spend more time with the kids. She brushed down buttercup and put her in the pasture with the other horses.
The kids played in the backyard while Henry and Elizabeth curled up on the porch swing watching their kids play. Elizabeth sat up and lightly hit Henry on the chest and said he should grill for supper. Henry laughed and shook his head in an agreement. Elizabeth went and got steaks out for her and Henry and grabbed a pack of hotdogs for the kids. She cut up some potato's and onions for Henry to make some potato packs she would leave the seasoning up to him. She brought it all out to him he had lit up the grill. He went and got the seasoning he would need. He got everything ready and started grilling. Elizabeth got out paper plates and brought out ketchup and buns and chips for the kids. She made a pitcher of lemonade and brought it out as Henry was taking the steaks off the Grill. They sat down and got the kids hotdogs and their chips and then put their steaks and potato packets on there plates and dug in. The kids finished quickly except for Jason who had 3 hotdogs. The kids all got up and went to play.
"how can Jason eat that much and where does he put it?" Elizabeth questioned Henry.
"He gets it from his mommy" Henry quipped back.
Elizabeth tilted her head giving Henry her famous look. Henry tilted his head back and laughed and said "oh boy" Elizabeth hit him lightly on the chest and they both laughed.
They stayed and played outside till about 7 and went into to get all the kids bathed and showered and get their bedtimes routine done. Once all the kids were in bed Henry and Elizabeth curled up on the couch together and graded papers. Henry was done grading papers first and picked up a book to start reading. He had one hand on Elizabeth's waist while reading with his other hand. Elizabeth was comforted by his touch. Elizabeth's eyes started to flutter. "let's go to bed babe" Henry nudged her They went up and got changed and crawled into bed.
