Sounds of birds chirped throughout the air and filled Y/N's ears. She was curled up on her side out cold on the ground. Her eyes began to twitch when the sun's rays beamed down and hit her, one could say it was even blinding her despite her eyes being closed. Morning dew littered the grass in the forest, she could feel it as she stretched while some of her exposed skin got wet. A nice, relieving stretch before sitting up, was a good way to start the morning.~
Slowly she sat up, eyes still closed and her upper half getting tipsy from grogginess. She yawned softly whilst sitting there half awake; what made her wake up a little more, was when she noticed Sesshomaru wasn't next to her by feeling around to her side. Looking over, he was indeed missing and that made her stand up quickly. Panic started to rise, only for it to get cut short when she heard someone snoring nearby. After she glanced over at the said person, she saw Obsidian...sleeping up in a tree upside down like a bat.
She shook her head at the sight with a humorous light chuckle escaping her lips, finding his position funny. She noticed how everyone was still asleep, so she guessed it was around six o'clock. Where's Sesshomaru...? she questioned in her mind and looked around, humming in thought. Maybe taking a dump? she asked rather bluntly and began wandering through the many trees, leaving the other sleeping peeps behind.
Over rocks, logs, almost running into a spider web in which she spat it out when it got in her mouth, and pushed some branches out of her way. When she came across the lake from before, her eyes wavered in awe at its beauty. The morning sun complimented it, making it sparkle just as much as the moon had last night. Being too groggy still, she rubbed her one eye and made her way to the edge of the lake. She planned on washing her face, it'd be a good way to make her tiredness go away.
She sat on her knees, leaned over and cupped the water in her hands, all the while seeing her reflection in the water ripple. Hm... I haven't been able to see my own reflection in a little while. she thought to herself, before splashing it on her features and rubbing her face. Next, she cupped some more water into her hand then took a refreshing sip, slurping sounds occurred when she did.
The sounds of birds chirping and insects buzzing nearby met her ears, but what startled her was when a large splash in the lake went off. Her head jerked up with wide eyes present, gasping at the sight before her.
Sesshomaru appeared high above the water, flipping his long, silver hair backward gracefully. Y/N froze in her spot after noticing it was him and her mouth was in a frown, gawking at his action. The water sparkled around him as it flew up and out of his hair, she sweatdropped at the sight after recalling the little mermaid doing the same on a disney film and not once broke her attention from him. "Wow... He puts the little mermaid to shame..." she spoke low to herself. She thought she was speaking quiet enough but had failed completely when he looked over at her from his side.
His golden eyes were complimented by the sun's glow behind him, he only squinted his eyes and lowered himself further beneath the water so he could face her. "Why are you here, L/N...?" he asked, watching as she frantically stood up with a blush tainting her cheeks.
"I... I-I was just washing my face! I didn't know you were here! This is the only water source right now, so I needed to wash my face and drink some," she explained with her hands up in defense, wide eyes, red face, and a frown. She began to back away from the edge until she slipped... Her legs flew up in the air in front and she slid down the small slope into the water, causing a little splash. He just stared blankly at her, unfazed by her antics. Once she made it above the water, she gasped for air and panted.
"Hmph..." he sounded, turned around and began to clean his arms with the water, as if he was in a bathtub. His hair floated gracefully on top of the water, he was just glad his hair was long enough to hide his entire backside... "We'll be leaving soon. It won't be long until we reach Mamono City..." he said with his low, deep voice and refused to look her way over his shoulder.
"Sure... Um..." she began, hesitant about the question lingering in her mind. Thinking about the little mermaid had her questioning if mermaids actually existed. "Do... Mermaids exist?" she blinked curiously up at his lordship, raising a brow and watching him pause in mid-scrub.
"What are mermaids...?" him asking that was enough of an answer to her, it made her silent.
"Um... Fantasy creatures known to live underwater. Elves were mentioned before, so it made me wonder if Mermaids existed too." She scratched her cheek nervously and looked off to the side, still finding this situation rather awkward. FOR PETE'S SAKE, HE'S NAKED! I CAN'T LOOK AT HIM STRAIGHT! UNLIKE MOST PEOPLE IN THIS ERA, I ACTUALLY RESPECT PRIVACY! She exclaimed in her mind and shifted her feet, looking at everything else but him. "I'm... Gonna go wake everyone up... Eheh..." she nervously chuckled and walked away slowly, causing the western lordship to peek over his shoulder at her and notice her red face.
He only hummed in thought at the sight, her face being flushed with red made him wonder if it was because of them being of opposite genders or, she has never seen a naked person before... Let alone a man. Regardless, he continued with bathing.
Y/N did exactly that; she woke everyone up to prepare for a much shorter flight than yesterday, then ate breakfast... Which was some fruit Rin and Obsidian found together.
~Le Time skip- brought to you by Sesshomaru, who is being told to sit. Y/N was training him.~
Thirty minutes later; up in the sky, Y/N was in Sesshomaru's arms again. He was dressed...obviously...and she watched as Mamono City came into view. Obsidian, like yesterday, was right next to Sesshomaru and A-Un carried both Jaken and Rin. Y/N's eyes widened in awe, she's never seen a City in Inuyasha before... She expected it to be super fancy looking, but she failed to remember that the races in this era just RECENTLY started making cities... So that being recalled, she got a better glimpse of the city below and noticed how old it looked.
It looked like a gigantic village where all the houses of different sizes, took up a lot of space; an oddly colored barrier was over the top of the city, shaped like a dome. "Wow, the streets look crowded from up here," she mumbled out, spotting all the citizens in there that weren't even human. Beasts being ridden by yokai, flew through the air and carried civilians.
"It's one of the first cities...and it's invisible to the human eye," Sesshomaru said, not once looking down at her. She glanced up at him, surprise evident on her features and looked back down at the incoming city. Slowly they hovered down, coming across a long white bridge that seemed to extend out across a giant gap below.
There were houses beyond the gate that led inside the City, houses all aligned against the sides of the bridges and in the center where the paths connected. The houses still had the simplistic feudal era vibe... Down in the ravine, in the gap that the bridges hovered high above from, were countless houses and roads. She gasped, mouth going agape and when they all landed, he put her down.
She nearly stumbled backward if Sesshomaru hadn't of been behind her... Her gorgeous e/c alien eyes scrolled up to view how high up the bridges really went. It was pretty high...and she could see towers in some spots too. "And... Obsidian lives...here?!" she questioned in shock, her mouth still hanging open and light chuckles came from behind her.
"Why yes!~" Obi chirped, folding his wings around his frame and carrying his little pet with him. Walking past them all, he walked up to a gate guard who wore feudal samurai armor. The man's face was masked by a lion looking covering over his mouth and red eyes gleaming from beneath the helmet. "Hello!~ The western lordship, his group and I wish to enter the city. I live here, so they'll be staying with me," He said, kept his signature smile plastered and watched as the said yokai male looked him up and down. With a simple nod, he pulled a horn out from behind his back and blew through it, signaling for the gate to open.
As if on cue, the giant red gate that was shaped like a shrine's gate which also had metal bars in the middle, opened up. He grunted and gestured for them to all pass through and so they did. Obi was in the lead, Sesshomaru walked beside the batman, Rin gawked in awe at the gate, Jaken acted composed even though he was just as astonished and Y/N... She stuck to Sesshomaru's backside like glue.
Her hand gripped tightly on his robes from behind and as she walked across the bridge, she looked down to see all the houses below. The guards had to keep A-Un at the start of the gate, no mounts were allowed in, only the the provided beasts within the city were allowed; lest they freak out from its surroundings and other citizens, causing damage to the city. A-Un didn't mind, Rin was upset but she knew she had to leave the dragon behind for now.
The City was pretty big. The bridges, as mentioned before, held houses of many sizes along the sides. People, no...yokai children, and other citizens roamed the paths and scaled down the long staircases that led into the ravine below. "I hope we don't get lost in here. This place is gigantic!" she exclaimed in almost a whisper and saw so many flying demon citizens in the ravine, heading to their destinations. She gulped, sweated profusely and hoped that none of them would take notice of her... At least, not right away.
