Naruto Of The Uchiha
Family Reunion
"ITACHI!"
Itachi looked up from looking at Kakashi. He'd just finished his prayer to pay respect to his former Captain, mentor, and friend. He looked to the wall ahead of him and sighed.
"Hello, little sister."
"I'm going to kill you! You'll pay for what you've done!" She formed a Chidori in her left hand and the chirping could be heard.
Itachi closed his eyes before turning around to face his sister. No longer hidden behind a mask, he opened his eyes slowly revealing his Sharingan to her. She felt a small pang of fear, as she felt like she used to back then. That he was an insurmountable obstacle.
Flashback
"I'll always be there for you. Even if it's only to be an obstacle for you to overcome. Because that's what big brothers are for..." Itachi said looking down towards Sasuki.
He had a small smile and he looked sad for some reason. She didn't get it then.
Flashback End
She charged him and lunged with her attack. Itachi caught her wrist, lifting her up. She went wide-eyed in shock and was scared. He was going to be able to kill her effortlessly. What was all the training for?
Then out of nowhere, something made her entirely confused. Itachi brought his right hand up and was near her eyes. "He's going to take my eyes?" She thought in fear as his hand got closer. Then out of her complete surprise, he poked her forehead with his index and middle fingers like he used to back then and smiled.
"I'm sorry, Sasuki...but I have to go. We'll talk some other time, ok?" He said and dispersed in a flock of crows.
She got dropped to her knees and didn't get it. Wasn't he evil? Didn't he massacre the clan for power and surely he would finish the job...right? How could he just be so kind as before everything happened? None of it made sense.
Sasuki finally looked up and saw Kakashi laying on the bed. "Sensei?" She got up and saw the kunai over his chest and hands placed on it. His eyes were shut and she saw the blood stains of where he'd been stabbed. "SENSEI?"
She grabbed his shoulder and tried shaking him awake. Tears welled up in her eyes as he wouldn't respond. Was he really dead? Who did this? Did Itachi have anything to do with it?
"Oh, Naruto...please wake up soon...We need you...I need you." She began to cry as she said a prayer in respects to Kakashi. She wondered how she could tell Naruto that Kakashi had passed away. He would be devastated to lose someone so close again, and while he couldn't do anything.
A crow was in the corner of the room with a Sharingan in its eyes. Itachi from Naruto's room frowned. He hated to see her hurt but it seemed that it was all he caused her. The marks on her heart had been caused by him. Still, he would do anything for her, and Naruto. He just wished it didn't have to be the way it was.
"Itachi, you won't be able to keep dodging them."
"I know, Jiraya-sama..."
"I'm sorry about Kakashi. He was a good man." Itachi only nodded. He closed his eyes as he awaited Naruto's awakening.
Jiraya was sensing Naruto's chakra circulating faster and faster within his body. He looked to his godson and wondered what was going on inside him.
Naruto's Mind
"It's time for you to wake up, sweetie."
"Kaasan, I don't want to go. I want to stay with you, and Shisui Nii-san."
"It isn't your time, my son. We will see eachother again soon...now you must return to them."
"B-but-"
"Come on, Naruto. Sasuki needs you. Itachi needs you. Your friends miss you. Now you need to return. We'll see you again...brother." Shisui said and brought his forehead to Naruto's. He looked him in the eye and smiled. "I love you, Naruto."
"I love you, my sweet son."
Naruto began to tear up and looked away. "I love you too..." He began to glow white and fade away.
"Brat. Welcome back."
"Hey Kurama..."
"How were they?"
"You know?"
"Ofcourse."
"It was great to meet her finally. And to see Shisui again..."
"Good. You're healed, but you aren't at full capacity yet. You will have to readjust to your strength."
Naruto nodded and left the mindscape. He body was tensing up and he groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. He tried to move and seemed to he having trouble. His Sharingan flared to life and glowed in all it's power. No longer held back from illness. Jiraya was in Sage mode and still, felt a fear trickle up his spine from the glow and power that emanated from those eyes. Itachi's eyes remained closed as he was sitting calmly.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" Naruto said as he noticed the restraints keeping him bound to the stretcher.
"Naruto, relax. It was a precaution incase you were going to be angry." Jiraya tried to reason.
"THE ONLY THING ANGERING ME IS THE FACT I'M BEING TREATED AS A PRISONER!" Naruto began trying to harness his chakra and was molding it into fire all around his body.
The hope was to burn the restraints off of him but it didn't seem to be working. He noticed that they were absorbing the chakra he was releasing. So that was how this was going to go. He fused even more chakra and the fire was changing color from brown to a deep red and the restraints showed signs of being strained.
"Easy there, Naruto-kun. I can tell you aren't fully recovered yet. You'll be released."
Naruto turned to Itachi and his eyes widened. The Sharingan morphed into the Mangekyo as lightning seemed to strike from nowhere and in a flash, he held Itachi against the wall.
"What are you playing at here?"
Itachi smiled slightly. "You're getting stronger by the second. Good to see you're doing well...but sorry to disappoint..." he suddenly disperesed in crows and Naruto looked to the left and held a kunai to his throat.
"Are you really on our side?"
"So your eyes see through my Genjutsu. You've really surpassed me."
"Now that you two are done testing one another's eyes, can we get down to business before they start trying to barge into here?"
They both looked at Jiraya for a second before looking back to eachother. "You'll explain everything to me...even if I have to use his Jutsu. If it is really that important to be kept secret, I'll keep it, but I demand answers before I can truly trust you for sure."
"I understand, Naruto-kun. Now isn't the time...there's been some...bad news."
"Damn, I didn't think we were going straight there. I'll be taking my leave." Jiraya said as he stood up.
"SIT." Naruto said and he immediately complied. "What happened? Is Sasuki-chan ok?"
"Yes, she is." Itachi always appreciated how much Naruto cared about her and how protective he'd always been. "Naruto-kun, Kakashi, he-"
"Naru-kun? NARU-KUN! YOU'RE FINALLY AWAKE!" Sasuki entered the room and ran up to Naruto, embracing him in a tight hug. He didn't hesitate to return the hug as she cried in his arms. "You had me worried! Don't be doing these things anymore!"
Naruto just held her and kissed her forehead. "I'll try..."
She turned and noticed Jiraya looking tense and looked to the other side to see Itachi. She activated her Sharingan and was about to get ready to attack but Naruto caught her. She looked back confused and all he did was shake his head. He brought her back into a hug from behind her and rest his head on her left shoulder placing a small kiss on her cheek.
"As you were saying..." Naruto said while still holding Sasuki.
"Naruto-kun, Kakashi...he..." She placed her hands over Naruto's to hold him in some way for the news to come. "...he has passed away..."
Naruto remained still and silent. A little too silent and was frozen like a statue. They wondered how he was going to react and didn't know what to do since all he was doing was remaining still. She tried to grip his hands tighter to get some sort of response. Finally all he did was hold her tighter and just nodded slowly. He looked to the ground and didn't say a thing.
"Naruto? Are you ok?" He didn't respond. "Naruto?"
"What do you want from me, Jiraya? What am I supposed to do? Seriously! What can I do? There's nothing I can do that will change a thing...there never is..." He shunshined away with Sasuki with him, leaving Jiraya and Itachi in the room.
"He seems to have handled that well."
"Are fucking kidding me, Jiraya-sama?" Itachi shook his head and scoffed. He was that way because there was only a couple people, that Naruto ever let see him at his most vulnerable, Shisui, Kakashi, Sasuki, and at one time him. So it was obvious he hid his feelings and left to be alone with her.
Naruto And Sasuki
They reappeared within their room in the cave system. It was the most secluded area of the cave and farthest from everyone. With his use of Fuinjutsu, no one can even come near the room without his permission. It also kept sounds in, and offered total privacy and security when active.
Naruto let go of her began to breathe heavily. She looked at him with a frown and felt bad for how he was feeling. He turned to the wall closest to him and punched it as he finally began to cry. It took a couple punches from him before Sasuki finally snapped out of her trance.
She quickly moved over to him and pulled him to her. She turned him around and just hugged him to console him. She was sad no doubt, but Sasuki wouldn't dare pretend that she was as close to Kakashi as he was. To Naruto, Kakashi had been family. Practically the last he had. Now his family was gone.
Sasuki knew how it felt to lose your family, and just as he was there for her. She resolved that she'd be here for him. Placing her right hand on his cheek, she caressed it and he slightly opened his Sharingan eyes as tears streamed down his face. She always liked seeing Naruto's Sharingan, thinking it was more beautiful than any other. Sad how the reality of the beauty came from the deepest of sorrow.
He began to calm slightly as he looked into her eyes. To this day, Naruto never understood it, but she always had the ability to calm him. He brought his right hand to her neck and rubbed his thumb against her cheek as he finally managed to break a smile.
"I'm happy to see you, Sasuki-chan."
She smiled and the two kissed before just standing in a hug. She pulled him to the bed and the two went to sleep together before the drama that tomorrow would bring.
Naruto as usual, woke up before her and had a weird feeling. He looked down and got nervous before immediately jumping out of bed without waking her.
"The hell...this doesn't happen ever..." He looked at her sleeping form and his eyebrows went up. "D-did she always looks so...no not going there." Naruto shook his head and left to clean up. What was with these thoughts all of a sudden?
He noticed Jiraya and walked over a little awkwardly. "Jiraya?"
"Yes, Naruto?"
"Something odd's...happening."
"What do you mean?"
"Well um...I don't know how explain it."
Jiraya looked at Naruto a little funny. "You? Not knowing how to say something? I never heard of that. So what is it brat?"
"Let's get something clear here, Jiraya. Me coming to you right now, doesn't mean we're cool, but...I do need you to like explain what is going on with me."
"Is it your chakra? Are you feeling sick?"
"Uh...not sick...not chakra. More like...my body?" Jiraya raised an eyebrow. "It's done something weird when I woke up...and I noticed something...about...look I'm not about to explain what I seen."
Jiraya looked at him dumbfounded. "What the fuck is this kid talking about? His body being weird when he woke up? Noticed something...oh shit...oh shit! OH THIS IS LEGENDARY!" Jiraya whipped out a notebook and a pen as he sat down and got serious and concentrated. "Tell me everything."
"What's with the notebook?"
"Uh...to keep track of symptoms...yeah to track your symptoms and get notes to make a diagnosis." Jiraya said nodding.
Naruto shrugged as he sat down. "Well...after last night, I woke up as usual. And felt a weird sensation. Looking, something was definitely off, Jiraya."
"Hmm. What would that be?"
"Well. I mean...my-"
"Naruto-kun, don't go on. Jiraya-sama, you had better stop. My sister, and Naruto-kun will not be a part of your research."
"I-I-Itachi! When did you get here? It isn't like that I swear!"
"Sure...Naruto-kun...we should have a talk some time..."
"No now."
Itachi raised an eyebrow and kinda chuckled nervously. This was something he really didn't want to talk about. It was awkward...
"There's time for it later..."
"No I want my answers now about the clan and Shisui."
Itachi's eyes widened and his mouth opened and he sighed in relief. "Oh! Yeah...you sure you want to do this now?"
"Itachi...I want to trust you again, I really do...but I can't do that if you aren't honest with me. I don't want to force you with the Jutsu."
"What Jutsu?" Jiraya said.
"Kotoamatsukami."
"Koto-what? Isn't that Shisui's technique?"
Naruto nodded. "I can use it too. After I transplanted his eyes into mine, I could use it."
Jiraya could only nod. Itachi sat down beside Naruto. "Well Naruto-kun...I guess that the main thing was that, what I had done. I did for Sasuki, and for you. It was to keep you safe. As well as protect the village."
Naruto's Sharingan spun "So it was an order." Itachi nodded sadly. "Was Nii-san supposed to be a part of it?"
"Yes. He had a plan that wouldn't have required the massacre. It would have worked too."
"What happened?"
Itachi's face showed anger and hate rather than his usual stoic expression. "He, got in the way." He spoke with distaste and utter disgust in the reference of the person.
"Who did? What did they do?"
"Shisui was planning on using the ultimate Genjutsu, Kotoamatsukami to stop the plans of a coup by the Uchiha...but Danzo didn't trust such a power with Shisui. He felt he should be in control and the night before your birthday, was when the plan was going to be done. Danzo summoned Shisui before the mission and attacked. He had poisoned Shisui with an Aburame bug, and nearly took his eyes. I had been on a mission and felt off so I had hurried back and got him just in time before he collapsed. He killed himself in front of me so I could awaken the Mangekyo to protect you for him. So I could protect the village and Sasuki. Some time would go by before that night came. The coup was coming and it was the only way to stop a Civil War which would have led to a war among the nations since we'd be even weaker than ever. So I made the choice to massacre the clan to protect the village and keep you two safe. All while becoming a rogue shinobi and being seen as a traitor."
Naruto was silent. He felt saddened even more. Sasuki may not have had to deal with the sadness of losing her whole family and clan had this Danzo not gotten in the way. Shisui could have still been here. Maybe the war wouldn't have happened and Kakashi would still be here. How much could have been different, had it gone as Shisui planned?
"I'm going to kill him. They'll pay. He'll regret the fact that he ever brought about my wrath."
"I'll be there with you, Naruto-kun. It isn't time though."
"I know. Itachi, I've missed you...it's nice to have you back. I know it will be odd, but I know Sasuki-chan will be happy too."
Itachi nodded and smiled slightly. As if on cue, Sasuki came out and she looked at Itachi warily but came to Naruto's side.
"Good morning, everyone. Morning, Naru-kun." She said giving him a kiss and holding his right arm as she sat.
"Morning." Jiraya said with a smirk.
Itachi remained silent and didn't exactly known what to do. It was easier with Naruto because he was slowly figuring it out anyways. On top of that, from that time of the transplant, Naruto pretty much learned that he wasn't as bad as he was portrayed. Sasuki only ever known him as the one to kill their family.
"When will there be a funeral?" Naruto said after there was a long silence.
"We aren't sure. During times of war, there is generally a large ceremony to commemorate all that was lost at once. So it can be a while..."
Naruto shook his head. "No. I'm ending this thing. Once I'm at my full strength, I'm going to Kumo."
"Naruto, are you s-"
"Yes, Jiraya. This has gone on long enough. They'll either surrender, or I will wipe them out."
They all looked at him with worry. Wipe them out? Naruto never was one to speak about considering such an option. For the most part, he avoided confrontation like that. Siding to go with Genjutsu as the first option then a direct route if need be. Only during the war was he fighting head on at all times. Was the war to blame for his change?
Was the Naruto they once knew gone? How different was he? This war was taking more and more from him, he was losing all he had to give. What more would he lose, if he doesn't go try to end it swiftly? Perhaps it was for the best.
Sasuki wrapped her arms around him. "Just come home to me."
He looked her in the eyes with his Sharingan and promised. "Always."
A few weeks would go by and everyone was becoming accustomed to Itachi being around. For some it was easier since they just treated him as the ANBU Commander. When they realised that he'd been fighting for and with them all this time, serving the village, it made it easy to accept having him around. They still didn't know the truth of the massacre, only Jiraya and Naruto, so that made things a little awkward.
Sasuki was training with him to improve while Naruto was resting. He was pushing his body and chakra a lot, trying to get reacquainted with his healthy self. So since he wasn't able to train with her, Itachi offered.
She still felt awkward and Itachi understood so he finally decided to make it easier for her. "Sasuki, do you remember what I told you back then?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I want you to have an easier time around me. So maybe reminding you of this will help. I had said that I will always be there for you. Even if it meant only being an obstacle for you to overcome. Because that's what big brothers are for."
"I still don't really get it..." She said frowning.
He sighed "There's no other way...Sasuki, when everything changed for you. The memories of the past and us only cause pain to you. In your eyes, all you see is betrayal, a villain is what I've portrayed to you. But in reality I was saving you, see I didn't have a choice. I had my back against the wall...I went on my own and had to be content with the fact that I left you alone. I know deep down I was wrong...I destroyed our home, I took everything from you, I'm the reason our family is gone. For that, all of your hatred I'll carry. That's ok because I love you. You don't ever have to say it back because I would do anything for you. I walked the path I took, to open up a new one for you. You're always on my mind. So long as you are safe, I'll take the pain. Because you're my dear little sister...and that is my duty as your big brother..." Tears dropped from Itachi's eyes as he turned away.
"N-Nii-san...i-its really you? You never hated me? Never hated the clan? It wasn't just for power?"
Itachi faced her again. "Your life had a price, so I paid the fee. All of your pain was caused by me, and I'm sorry...Your love is what I lost, but it's a sacrifice I would make a thousand times to keep you safe."
"I don't get it! WHY ARE YOU AND NARUTO ALWAYS GIVING EVERYTHING FOR ME! WHAT ABOUT YOU AND HIM?" she began to cry. "You've hated your life...just so I could love mine..."
"Because we love you, little sister."
She broke down and ran off on her own. He reached out with a hand towards her but stopped and let her go. It was a lot to take in, he just flipped her whole world upside down. For as long as she knew, he was a traitor who slaughtered their family for his own gain and hated them all. Now she finds out it was to keep her safe and he did it out of his love for her. What would have happened had Naruto not been around? If they never knew eachother, and he couldn't send her away to be with him during the time that he massacred the clan?
Hey y'all, another chapter in the books. Going to be wrapping up this war and moving into the next phase of the story soon.
Yeah, ANBU would have been more secretive most likely. Probably no ceremony, but I wanted to have that chance where Kakashi could pass on the kunai that Minato gifted him for becoming a Jonin. I felt that at a graduation ceremony would have been the best environment. Otherwise you would be right.
Yo, so I hope you guys thought it was funny, the little segment I added in between the serious moments lol. They're reaching that age and I figured, why not joke about it. It's not meant to be taken too seriously, which I hope you guys were able to find a little amusing atleast.
Itachi opened up, would he really? Most likely not, but with Naruto, he had no choice as he could just be mind controlled to do so anyways. And with Sasuki, he didn't exactly reveal anything aside from, he was saving her and was protecting her. So yeah...he didn't exactly reveal the full truth to her.
See y'all in the next chapter where the war will be coming to it's end and next phase will begin.
