A Wonderful Father

"Hello Aunt Amelia."

"Hello Tess, did you sleep well?"

"Yes, where's Papa?"

"He returned to work my heart."

Amelia opened her arms. "I can give you a hug my dear."

Tess thought for a second and ended up snuggling up to her aunt.

"Papa had never spanked me."

Amelia made her hot chocolate with butter and jam on toast. Then she noticed that the little girl was crying softly.

Meanwhile, at school, some of the children are having problems.

"Jason, Jessie, when I call you and recess is over I want you to obey and immediately!" Mrs. Dodd growled.

"Yes Mrs. Dodd. We were playing, we didn't pay attention!" Jason said.

"The corner! Both of you! I'll write a note to your father!" Mrs. Dodd growled.

It took Amelia and Tess thirty minutes to walk to the city center.

Ethan had been around town to make sure everything was okay and was heading back to his office when Amelia and Tess arrived.

"Oh Papa! I didn't mean to be mean! Sorry! " Cried the little girl, throwing herself on him!

"Sweetheart!" The man said softly, "You are not mean!" He said hugging her tightly!

"Sorry Pa! Do you still love me?"

"Of course honey!" Ethan sat down at his desk with his daughter on his lap. "Look at me my love." Tess looked up.

"You're a little girl, you're going to do stupid things, that's normal!" Papa's job is to punish or spank you when that happens. But that doesn't change the love I have

for you! Do you understand?"

"Yes Pa, but I don't want a spanking anymore!"

"Good! That's the point of spanking honey, to make you think before you get disrespectful. I don't like punishing you, but I will if I need to because I love you so

"I have a note for Pa. Claire confessed.

"We kept playing after the bell was rung to go in." Jason said.

"Well your best bet is to confess it to your Pa as soon as possible. I'm going to make him some meatloaf to calm his mood, I know he loves it! I don't promise you anything, but ifit helps, it helps. "

"Dakota?

"Amelia asked me to go beyond kissing, but we have the kids in our room, that's impossible. Would you like to help me solve this and repair the upstairs?"

"I know Ethan. Should we start work on Saturday morning? Would Saturday night work on the swapped houses? I won't say anything to Amelia about your surprise. I have the

idea that Marie will prepare a perfect little nest for your love for your surprise!"

"How sweet! Thanks Dakota!, Doesn't it shock you that we do this before the wedding? You know….?"

"No, you're not teenagers anymore and you both already have kids, no problem. You have more important things to pay for than marriage right now."

"Yes, thank you my friend! Really!"

Ethan went home with a light heart, Amelia will be so happy with his surprise! He informed her of the upstairs work to be done on Saturday and asked if he could invite Judge

Williams to dinner on Friday night.

"Of course! He can even sleep here if you want."

"Thanks honey, we'll see if he wants to stay."

Amelia had made him a meatloaf.

"Thank you honey! You know I like it!"

"You do?" She reacts as if she doesn't know.

At the end of the dinner, Claire got up to clear the table."

"Jessie, Tess, help Claire," Ethan ordered.

They immediately obeyed. The house was quiet, too quiet.

"Is there something I should know?" The man asked.

Claire then took a position in front of him, between his knees, followed by Jessie and Jason.

"Yes sir, we have notes from Mrs. Dodd." she said, taking the notes out of her pocket and giving them to Ethan. The three were looking at their feet.

Ethan quickly read the notes.

"Adam, Joseph, can you keep the little ones in the yard for a while please?" Also stay away from the barn until I call you.

"Can we go to Daddy's Creek? I won't take my eyes off Tess." Joseph asked.

"I give you my permission. Adam, Joseph, I trust you with the little ones. Tess, Ben, George you listen and obey your big brothers,or it will be a good spanking

Joseph took George and Ben by the hand as Adam carried Tess.

"Read it. Amelia took the notes and read it.

"Oh Ethan! Jessie is so disrespectful!"

"Yes, I've had enough! I really need to stop her disrespectful talk! She's too young for my belt, but I want to!"

"Done like with Ben, impress over there ?!"

"Nothing impresses, Amelia! I'm done with this behavior! None of my children will behave like this! I think a bare spanking with my hand and a real
