Ch 13 More Tragedy
Kion and his family raced towards the river where they say Aalas, Ponch, Lamba, and Laalu in defensive positions while trying to fend off two crocodiles as well as Zahar and Kaatana. "Mach!" Kion roared, racing towards the male croc and leaping in front of him as he tried to snap at Laalu and Ponch's daughter. Juda let out a yelp and ran to hind with Betee, who was hiding behind her parents. "What the Hell do you and Magara think you're doing?!"
"What's it to you Kion?" the croc growled, swinging his sharp tail at Kion. Kion jumped to the side and narrowly missed getting hit.
"Is all the animals around here trying to commit treason?" Rani muttered as she swiped at Zahar, who was trying to bite her.
"We're doing what's best for us," the cobra hissed. "And that's not you and Kion."
"Jiona gets things done," Mach growled as he once again swung his tail at Kion. Only this time he didn't miss and caught Kion in his hind leg, causing him to let out a roar of pain and fall to the ground. Mach laughed cruelly and hit Kion again. This time he managed to hit Kion into the river, which was very high and rough due to the recent rain. Mach swam into the river determined to take Kion down.
"No!" Rani shouted, terrified for her mate.
"Kion!" Simba and Nala cried out as they tried to help their son. But Kaatana had their path blocked as she threatened to bite them if they move even an inch. But Kiara managed to jump into the water and she raced to help her brother.
"Leave my baby brother alone!" the golden lioness roared as she jumped on Mach's head, sending him down into the water.
"You are not in charge here girl," Magara hissed as she lunged towards Kiara.
"No but I sure as Hell am!" Rani roared as pounced on Magara's head, sending her down into the water as well.
"Back off Zahar!" Aalas roared as he and Lamba swiped Zahar hard, sending him flying through the air. Ponch and Laalu swiped Kaatana at the same time sending her flying as well.
"Lets get out of here," Zahar hissed to Kaatana. "There's too much claws and teeth here." With that the two cobras left. Simba and Nala had jumped into the water to help their children fend off the crocodiles. Simba pounced on Mach's head once again sending him down into the water. This gave Kiara a chance to get Kion to shore. Nala helped Rani subdue Magara. The four lions waited for the crocs to resurface but all they saw were the bubbles as the pair retreated. Satisfied the four lions swam to shore to check on Kion.
"I think my back leg is broken," Kion groaned.
"I'll say it is," Ponch said, examining Kion's hind leg, which was swollen and slightly crocked. The red panda took Kion's leg in his hands. "Sorry about this Kion," Ponch said.
"Sorry for what?" Kion asked. But Ponch didn't answer. Instead he twisted the leg back into place with a snap. Kion cried out in pain and Ponch wrapped the leg tight with some branches and leaves that were nearby.
"There," Ponch said, brushing his hands together. "Now your leg isn't dislocated. Just broken. That should hold it until you can get Nirmala to set it properly."
"Thanks I think," Kion panted, wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"C'mon Ky lets get you back home," Rani said as she and Simba went on either side of Kion. But as Kion stood searing pain went through his hind paw.
"Urgh I don't think I can stand," the golden King groaned, closing his eyes tight with pain.
"Maybe if all four of us help," Nala suggested as she and Kiara got on the other side of Rani and Simba. "Put your paws on our back," the creamy lioness said.
"Mom I don't think I can," Kion grunted as he tried once again to stand. "Its not just my leg. My side hurts too. Kion nodded towards his side, which was black and blue. It was obvious that at least one of Kion's ribs was broken.
"Allow us to help," Aalas said as he and Lamba approached. Without waiting for a response the two bears got underneath Kion and lifted him as gently as they could.
"We'll carry him back to the Tree," Lamba said as she and her mate began to walk with the injured King. Betee followed her parents as did Ponch, Laalu and Juda. All of them were hoping the King's injures weren't to severe. Little did they know yet another gruesome discovery was about to happen.

Beshte and Maja were walking and trying to search for any signs of Jiona and his crew. Just then the two hippos heard the sounds of fighting and roars of pain. Looking at each other the two hippos raced towards the sound. To their horror they saw Jiona and Jattha dashing away, blood on their muzzles. Then they saw a horrific sight. Kovu was laying in a pool of blood, not moving. "Oh Great Kings and Queens!" Maja cried out, her brown eyes wide with horror.
"He's alive," Beshte informed his girlfriend after checking for a pulse. "But he won't be for long if we don't get him back to the Tree." With that Beshte began to lift Kovu on his back.
"Shouldn't we try and stop the bleeding?" Maja asked as she helped her boyfriend lift Kovu.
"We're pretty close to the Tree," Beshte said as they walked as quick as they could back to the Tree. "He's not bleeding to badly right now. He should be fine until we get him back." With that the hippos carried Kovu back both of them hoping the Pride Land King wasn't to badly injured.

A little while later everyone was back at the Tree and were awaiting news on Kovu. "This is the final straw!" Kion growled, his amber eyes stormy. "Jiona will die if I ever see him again!"
"This goes beyond the Night Land territory," Simba said.
"Agreed," Kiara said with a nod. "They attacked the King of the Pride Lands. That is grounds for war. Against him and anyone else who may be in leagues with him. I sent Doot to the Pride Lands with word to be on the alert if we need them."
"Good idea Kiara," Kion said with an approving nod. "And I just sent Ono and Anga out to spread word to Jiona and his crew that we're looking for him and that we're ready for war." Before anyone could respond Nirmala approached the group.
"How's Kovu?" Kiara asked, her voice shaking slightly.
"He'll be fine in a couple of weeks," Nirmala informed the Pride Land Queen. "He lost a great deal of blood but luckily the Tree seams to be doing its magic and is helping him heal faster."
"Well that's a relief," Nala said with a sigh.
"I'm going to sit with him," Kiara said as she headed to the back of the Tree.
"Now lets see to that leg," Nirmala said, examining Kion's hind leg. Just then the group heard Ono's frantic cry.
"Kion!" the egret cried out, zooming into the Tree with Anga right behind him. "Rani! There's trouble heading this way!"
"What is it Ono?" Kion asked.
"Jiona and his henchmen are heading this way!" Anga cried out. "They're out for a fight!"
"If its a fight they want then we'll give them a fight to the death!" Kion growled. "Ono can you get Aalas and Ponch and tell them what's happening?"
"On it," Ono said, flying out of the Tree to fetch their allies.
"Sarak!" Kion cried out. "Baliyo! Jiona and his thugs are heading this way. We're finally having it out with them."
"We're ready Kion," Sarak said, his face determined.
"Yeah lets go kick their sorry asses!" Baliyo cried out. With that the group headed out of the Tree to have the final battle with Jiona.
