The Dork of York. That was what they'd called Peter throughout high school. Not truly realizing that he was in fact the amazing Spider-Man the whole time. That had been okay with him. It helped him a bunch during those double identity days.

But years later when aunt may had gotten terminal breast cancer Peter had quit college after only two years to be with her more. It had been a grueling battle. It had taken a year or so but she'd finally succumbed to it.

He'd worked feverishly in the lab to try and come up with a cure himself. But all his experiments had failed. He'd almost gone to Stark and asked for help; but may had stopped him. She'd said that it was okay; to let go Peter. She was a devout Christian. Peter just followed God in his own way. But she'd said that it was God's will that he take her life. Peter hadn't cared for that. Hadn't cared for God taking uncle Ben away either by some random dumb ass mugger. But he had. Peter still hated God for that. Spider-Man was about saving lives; not letting them be taken.

He'd had passionate arguments about this subject on nighttime rooftops with Daredevil; himself a devout Roman Catholic. Matt had said God's will worked in everything. That he didn't blame God for being made blind and what not. Or for the bad things that had happened in his life too. Matt had said heroes suffered. That was the hero's way; to carry their crosses as Christ had.

Peter only went so far with that. He was still a believer of course; but he was also a man of science. And Spider-Man was all about reason and safeguarding lives. It was just style differences between heroes but Peter wasn't Matt; or aunt may. He couldn't just let it go. He wouldn't go off the deep end like punisher but he wouldn't just let it go either.

He couldn't. Wouldn't. Not with a lost sibling he'd never met still out there. Jean had confirmed along with the professor using Cerebro that Teresa was in fact alive and well. But her exact location remained a mystery; likely due to the baddies taking measures to hide her location from the many heroes now involved in searching for her.

He was in his Kirby cabin and spider suiting up when there was a knock at his door. "Come in." Jean stepped in. "Is this a bad time?" "No." He put on his spider gloves and only had his mask left to put on. "We have a lead." He faced her. "I've reached out along with the professor and it's right here in Tokyo. It's a hand base. Kwannon will help us infiltrate it." Peter nodded. "Also, we have Hank working on ways to bypass the telepathic blockers they're likely employing to keep us out." Excellent. Progress. And with real science backing it too. Beast was a super genius. If anyone could find solutions to helping find Teresa it was him Peter knew.

Jean watched Peter quietly for a moment as he donned his mask. "We're ready to go when you are." He faced her ready for action. "Let's go."

Shield had already gotten the all clear from the Japanese government to go in. They would remain in a support role. They didn't have the resources to deal with this. Shield did.

Shield transports went in at night. It was a task force. The target was indeed a confirmed hand vase. The baddies knew they were coming. Jean confirmed it. Now it was just a matter of hitting it and getting whatever intel they could. Jean didn't think Teresa was here but they had to follow every lead to be sure.

Nat was with Peter on the transport they flew on. She handed him a watch like device. "The iron spider controller." "That's it?" "Yep. Stark shrunk the tech even more. Might help with further telepathic attacks too." Peter just nodded took it and put it on. It interfaced with his mind right away. The suit then formed up over him in speedy super nano tech fashion.

"Hello there boss. I'm your new armor AI aid in the field." Peter frowned at that as the collapsible helmet HUD filled his sight. "Why do you sound just like my ex Mary Jane?" "I believe that is what you would call a joke on mister Stark's part sir. It was his belief that if your ex was your go to person in the suit during crises it would help to... keep you on your toes as it were." "Very funny. I'm gonna get him for that." "Would you like me to convey that to him sir?" "No... MJ; we got a job to do." "Yes sir. As agent Romanoff said my tech can likely shield you from further telepathic attacks." "That's good to know. We'll need every advantage." "Of course sir."

"Two Mike's," the shield pilot said. Peter could even fly in now with the iron spider armor. But he would stick with the team. No more loner now that he was with shield.

It was good to belong to this. Something bigger. Where he could truly make a difference. He loved New York and always would; but the world needed Spider-Man too. It was Spider-Man's time to shine; and shine he would.

It was time. He jumped out and hit the ground in a crouch. Nat was out too with assault rifle ready in her hands; shield agents soon with her. Suit Mj scanned ahead. "Multiple hostiles detected." All heard that. Peter looked to Nat for guidance. To his surprise she said, "take charge agent Parker."

He exhaled and nodded. "Alpha team; let's go."
