Chapter 13- Calm Before The Storm
Tia, Anton, Marina, Marinette and Nebula were driving to Paris to visit Marinette's folks for the weekend.
Anton has bought some of their baked goods before but never meet them in person and Tia was dying to meet Tom and Sabine as well, Marinette was quiet, after hearing what happend at school, she was scared, Marina patted her head.
"I'm sure things are not as bad as they say they are." said Marina.
But when they arrived at the Bakery, things were not as they seemed, for starters the atmosphere seemed gloomy, almost depressing, the air felt stale, to the point where it was unbearable.
But what was worse of all, most of the windows at the Bakery were smashed open, bits of glass littered the place.
"Okay...maybe i was wrong..." Squeaked Marina.
Anton nodded, it looked like a storm hit the place, when Marinette knocked on the door, Sabine was the one to answer, her eyes widened and she reached for a shotgun she placed on the window, "Who are you! what do want?" she yelled.
"Mama! it's me!" Marinette said.
Sabine squinted her eyes, then she recognized the scar on her eye, it was indeed her daughter.
"Oh god...Sweetie..." she said softly as she dropped her weapon, she just pointed a gun at her only child!
"Marinette, i am so sorry, i didn't notice you, please, come in, all of you!" she said greatfully.
After an hour's worth of apologes, she prepared her and her friends a snack.
"So...how is Ironheart?" Sabine asked.
"Great! i'm making all sorts of friends!" Marinette said, pointing to the others, "This is Tia and Anton, my roomates, and that's Nebula and Marina, they live across from us!" said Marinete, "not to mention i'm doing great in class, the headmaster says that if i keep up the good work, i might just graduate early!"
Anton nodded, confirming what she said, "If so, she will be graduating alongside myself, Tia, Marina, and Nebula."
Sabine hugged Marinette, never in her life has she been this proud of her daughter.
"Um...Mom...Where's Dad?" Marinette said.
Sabine went quiet, she feared that Marinette that question...
"Your Father...is in the hospital...as you can see, the Bakery was ransacked by a group of vandals, and leading them was...Alya." Sabine explained," you father tried to fight back, but Alya overpowered him and broke both of his legs, when i reported it to the police, they said that Alya had an alibi, she was with Lila Rossi at the time of the attack, as such, only the others were arrested, but i knew it was Alya."
Marinette said nothing, but deep inside her heart, a massive storm was brewing, a storm that no man would ever survive!
