We out here in mostly fluff valley for the next few chapters. Even if there is angst, it will just be between CG and AS while they talk out their issues. Again, remember they've only been in each other's lives for a month. There are a lot of things that need to be addressed and I know that you guys love long chapters but a lot gets missed so I'd rather have slightly shorter chapters so it's easier to digest the important moments between them.

This chapter picks up right after where Chapter 28 ended. It's going to be a little slow

I know a girl, she puts the color inside of my world.

"Chwis." Belle whispered and patted his head of messy hair. He groaned a little opening his eyes to be met with two tiny blue orbs close to his face. "Goo moning Chwis." She smiled.

"Good morning, Belle." He chuckled and noticed that Ana was curled into a ball towards the middle of the bed and still asleep. Belle had climbed over her and was now kneeling in the small space between her parents bodies. "Can I get a hug?" He asked and Belle opened her arms wide and fell on top of him. He closed his eyes briefly, absorbing the peaceful feeling that washed over him. He rubbed her back and gave her a small kiss on her cheek.

"Chwis. Bellie tummy wumble. Foodie time." She loudly whispered, however he was able to stop her from waking Ana up. He quickly checked his phone and saw that it was close to 11am. He picked her up and carried her downstairs to see if there was something he could try and scrounge up for breakfast.

"Chwis… wait. Goo moning Spencer." She pointed to the picture when Chris mistakenly passed the wall of pictures along the stairs. He stopped and went back up, taking his time coming down, watching her say good morning to every important picture.

They both were met with Alice in the kitchen making a pot of coffee.

"AWICE. GOO MONING." Belle cheered.

"Miss Garcia." Chris nodded, putting Belle down, watching her run to Alice.

Alice frowned a little. "Okay, hold up!" She bent down and picked up Belle to give her a big squeeze of a hug before setting her down to run around. "You're Belle's father so now I'm going to call you Christian. I'm Belle's godmother so you're gonna call me Alice, kay?" Chris looked at her a little stunned and nodded. "Cool, thanks! Coffee?"

"Yeah, thanks." he replied a little distractedly. "Belle says she's hungry but I'm not sure what to… I mean I don't know how to cook and-"

"LOL. It's okay. I suck at it too. I saw some of the food Mrs. Taylor sent but it's mostly lunch stuff. I'm going to order some breakfast bagels with the works. We won't starve for long!" She chuckled and picked up the iPad to order some food on seamless. "Bellie, you want an egg and cheese bagel?"

Once breakfast arrived, Alice prepared Belle's breakfast by cutting her egg and cheese bagel into small bite size pieces with apple slices and her sippy cup with orange juice. Chris watched carefully, it was small things like this he had to learn fast. Having foresight on how to anticipate his child's needs and thinking on his feet to make sure she wasn't going without.

"Chwis… eat apple." Belle held out a slice to feed Chris which he happily ate. He was alone with her in the kitchen and asking her questions about her trip, mostly about things of pictures Ana had sent him. Most of what she said was unintelligible but she believed she was having a fully comprehensible conversation with her friend. Alice on the other hand had taken her breakfast into Ana's office to work on some videos and business stuff, wanting to give the father and daughter room to bond.

Belle ate about eighty percent of her breakfast before starting to get a little restless. "Chwis." She looked up to her friend. "Bellie poopy diaper."

Oh fuck were the words that immediately came to his mind. How the fuck was he going to change her diaper and that too a diaper full of shit? He couldn't wake up Ana. Alice had told him that she rarely ever got to sleep in. Fuck… he had to think. He could ask Alice?

They walked into Ana's office and found Alice working away on the computer.

Chris cleared his throat. "Alice, I don't want to be a bother but Belle just informed me she needs a diaper change and I—"

Alice burst out laughing. "Oh Christian Grey… welcome to parenthood."

He shrugged with a half smile and followed Alice and Bele up the stairs. Alice showed him where Belle's extra diaper supplies were in a hallway closet since they didn't want to wake Ana up by going through her room.

However, Belle didn't let Chris enter her room for the diaper change. She stood at the threshold and looked up at him. "Noooo Chwis… pwivacyyyy."

"Sorry, we've drilled it into her head that only Ana, myself and Jose can change her diaper or give her a bath and stuff." Alice shrugged apologetically.

"No, I understand." Chris nodded and stood out in the hallway. Objectively he knew it was good practice but still the tinge of sadness was there. He wasn't there from the beginning so not only did he have no experience but also, he was still a bit of an outsider. Belle considered him a friend but it would take time.

He heard Belle talking up a storm and Alice sassing back at her. It was funny and Chris smiled at the sounds of his little girl giggling and growling with energy. He looked up when the sound to Ana's door opening came from the end of the hall. She was rubbing her face as she walked out and silently waved at him and followed the sound of Alice and Belle.

"MAMAAAA." Belle cheered.

"Hey baby." Ana said softly at the sight of her little girl. "I'm sorry I didn't wake up." she apologized and picked up Belle who was in the process of wearing her pajamas again after putting on a new diaper. "Thanks for this Alice… "

"Anytime, boss." Alice replied. "Ima go and finish up some work. We have three hours of down time till we have to head to the hotel to get ready for tonight."

Ana silently nodded. She was still a little out of it but walked back into her room with Belle on her hip.

"CHWIS. Bellie diaper shange." She announced in the hallway and Chris chuckled walking, following them.

"Good afternoon, Miss Steele." Chris whispered before planting a small kiss on her lips.

"Hi. Sorry, I'm a little out of it… " She breathed before falling back into the bed. Belle wasn't in the mood to snuggle but sat around with a few books, looking through them. Chris got into bed with her and held Ana close, planting small kisses on her neck.

"Tired?"

"Yeah, a little." She breathed. "I have to somehow find some energy to wake up fully and be all bubby and crap…" She let out a wry chuckle.

"How can I help?" He asked, genuinely wanting to make her feel better.

"Hmmm, this is nice but I'm sure our little bear is going to get distracted and ask for our attention."

"Are you hungry?"

"Not yet. Alice told me you guys ate?"

"We did, we ordered you something as well, want me to go get it?"

"No, it's okay… just stay like this." She closed her eyes a little before opening them at the sound of Belle's voice again. "Do you mind if I tell her about you now?" Ana asked, turning to look at Chris. He smiled and nodded, giving her a small kiss. He was elated and a million emotions ran through him at the prospect of finally being able to tell his daughter who he really was. "Bellie, can you come here please?" Ana called out.

Belle crawled over and sat next to her mother, expectantly.

"Bellie, is Chris your friend?" She asked her little girl, pushing curls away from her tiny forehead.

"Chwis my fwen." She beamed and reached across to pat his cheek, making him laugh.

"Well, Chwis is also your Daddy." Ana shared. Chris felt his heart stop momentarily. Ana was stroking her cheek while Belle looked at him with a curious eye.

"No. Daddy song. Daddy woses." Belle said matter of factly.

"Well, yes, Daddy is a song and roses but Chris is also your Daddy." She paused. "I told her the crystal roses were from her father." Ana whispered, looking back. "She really liked them but as of now Daddy is just a concept that isn't associated with a person."

In the meantime Belle shook her head with a pout. "No. Chwis my fwen."

"Baby, he is your friend and your Daddy." Ana gently told her.

Belle looked at Chris who was deathly quiet and eyeing his daughter's reaction.

"It's okay, don't push her." Chris whispered.

"Are you afraid of the bear?" Ana giggled.

"I'm afraid of a level 10 tantrum." He chuckled. "Let's just take it slow."

"I'll stop referring to you as Chris in front of her and start addressing you as Daddy so she'll have no choice but to accept it."

"Brainwash protocol?" Chris arched an eyebrow.

"I'm Russian, I think the KGB stuff is in our DNA." She giggled before turning back to Belle who was silently watching her mother and her friend conversing. "Bellie, can you give us a bear hug then?"

She didn't express much excitement but crawled into their embrace regardless. She was on top of Ana and had her eyes locked on Chris who tapped her nose and made her giggle.

"I love you Bellie." Ana whispered.

"I wove you Mama."

"Can you say I love you Daddy?"

"I wove you Daddy." Belle said looking at Ana. Chris' heart soared. Soon she would say this to him, knowing that he was her father, till then even hearing her say the words was a peaceful experience.

It wasn't a foreign thing for Belle to say but it was always something she said while looking at her mother. That was her tradition. Whenever Ana sang Daddy's song sometimes before going to bed, Ana would list all the people they loved and Daddy would be one of them, even if at the time, there was no way of knowing he would ever come back into their lives. Still, she wanted to keep a part of him a live in their little world.

"Can you give us bear kisses?" Ana asked. Bellie giggled and growled before giving her signature bear kiss, which was a kiss with a light bite on the cheek.

"Brace yourself, her bear kisses are cute but deadly." Ana laughed before Belle reached over to give Chris his first Bellie bear kiss. He laughed after being slobbered with some of her saliva and feeling her little teeth lightly bit his cheek.

"Thank you, Bellie, I liked that." He continued to laugh.

"Bellie wittle bear." She growled before dropping her parents like a hot potato and crawling off the bed. Ana got up and followed her, making sure to call Alice from the stairs, asking her to watch Belle for a little while.

"Thank God for Alice." Ana laughed before getting into bed with Chris again.

"She's definitely earned a bonus." Chris chuckled, holding her close and getting comfortable.

"Oh yeah, for sure. That and a vacation to some exotic location, preferably with a lot of hot guys around." She giggled. "She's been my rock since… " Ana trailed off.

"She told me she's Belle's godmother."

"Yeah, she is." Ana smiled. "And Jose is their godfather."

"Thank you for telling her that I'm her father, even if she's not entirely on board with the idea."

"You don't have to thank me… she's your daughter, we needed to have this conversation." She ran a hand through his hair and he closed his eyes savoring the feel of it.

"I know." he whispered. "But still, I know there's a lot to make up for and learn."

"You'll get the hang of it. I'm still learning too."

He snorted a laugh. "You make it look effortless."

"But it's not. I always second guess myself but then again, that's a personality trait as well." She giggled. "Most of the stuff you think is effortless is just familiarity and routine, once you become part of her routine, you'll pick things up and develop your own little traditions with her."

"You think?"

"Yeah… I mean she has stuff with Alice and Jose and soon she'll have her little dynamic with you. She already does, when you sleepover." Ana smiled and gave him a small kiss. "Plus she is obsessed with feeding you."

They remained close, talking and occasionally kissing each other and stopping when it got a little too heated.

"What are you doing Saturday afternoon?"

"I was thinking of going back to Glen Cove." She replied.

"My grandmother and grandfather are coming to the city from New Hampshire this week and really want to meet you guys. My mom is staying across the park so it'll be close to here. They want to get to know your family too, so Alice and Jose are also invited."

"Um... " Ana gulped. She immediately became nervous. She didn't want a repeat of what happened with Carrick to happen again. "Do they know my background and everything? I don't want—"

Chris cut her off with a kiss. "They know everything and they really want to meet you. My grandmother is a little… well, she doesn't have a filter and can be a little crass but she's otherwise loving and she can't wait to meet you both. My grandfather too. He's a bit of a flirt but I think you can handle him." Chris smiled, putting Ana at ease before she agreed to attend.

"Are you excited about tonight?" Ana asked.

"I'm happy that you'll be there." Happy. That was another word he could now say and actually mean it. The word never held too much weight for him till Ana and then completely after Ana was back in his life. "What about you?"

"I'm really nervous." Ana shared. "They gave me 6 minutes for my toast and I still got nothing." She chuckled nervously. "Plus all these people I look up to or have fangirled over the year will be around. I feel like a fraud… like, I'm about to get punked."

Chris laughed. "I assure you won't get punked and I'm pretty sure I will be seeing people fangirling over you."

"Imagine if we hadn't met before and ran into each other at this event for the first time? That would be like getting punked." Ana giggled.

"It would have been heart attack inducing that's for sure but… at least I'd have you in my life again." He smiled and stroked her cheek.

Lillian was slated to accompany him to this event but now Mia would be in attendance, in addition to Kate who was representing Kavanagh Media, along with Elliot as her date. Had they not met beforehand and he saw Ana, it would've been devastating and life affirming at the same time.

"You know… as much as you don't like her, she is the reason why we're here right now. I mean if she hadn't hounded us wanting to get a meeting with me and insisting that I meet with you, I would've never come to your apartment that day."

Chris pursed his lips. "So what, I should send her a thank you card and flowers?"

"No, that's not what I mean... I just meant—" Ana trailed off unable to really articulate what she was feeling. She didn't like Lillian from the get go and then she became jealous of her because she felt small and unaccomplished. Except now, she knew that Lillian was a snake.

"If I hadn't met you at the apartment, I would've met you at this event. The list was decided three months ago, so we were destined to meet, it was just a matter of when."

"I guess…" Ana shrugged, tearing her eyes away from him for a moment. She was secretly thanking her lucky stars that whatever happened between them, happened in private. Had she met him at the Time 100 event for the first time, it would've been catastrophic for her nerves. "Mia told me she bought a like a dozen copies of our covers." she giggled. "I'm going to have them framed and put them in my office."

"I think I'll do that same with yours." He smiled and kissed her soundly. "A family affair indeed."

"Yeah." Ana smiled against his lips. "I was thinking about something. There's this photographer I know, she takes pictures of Belle and me twice a year since she was born and I wanted to have some pictures of Belle done with you, if you're up for that? She'll sign an NDA and everything. I usually allow her to share pre-approved photos of us to help her business but she'll understand otherwise."

"I'd love that, baby. Where do you want to do it?"

"We can do it here or in Glen Cove, we'll figure that out." She smiled. "Belle loves getting her picture taken, she's starting to really pose now."

"I remember seeing her work the camera at the Time's shoot. That photo of you two on the cover is beautiful."

"I honestly thought they'd choose something a little more reserved but in the end they went with us being so silly." She giggled.

"I'm sure they sold a record number of issues." He smirked.

"We have been known to be quite the bestsellers." Ana laughed, prompting Chris to tickle her a little and bury his face in her neck to shower her with kisses.

They spent a few minutes making out and feeling each other up before Ana pulled away, laughing and admonishing him for his wandering hands.

"I guess this is good practice in restraint for me." Chris chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Ana asked, confused.

Chris had been wondering how to broach this topic but he felt now was a good time as ever.

He swallowed and decided to just bite the bullet and say his piece. "I met with my doctor two weeks about about getting my vasectomy reversed and after the procedure I have to abstain from sex for a minimum of three to four weeks."

Ana's eyes went wide. "Why are you getting it reversed?" She asked a little shakily. "I mean… I get that it's your body and your decision but why?"

"Because…" Chris began, his face was marred with confusion. Wasn't it obvious why? "I want us to be together and grow as a family." He wanted to experience all that he had missed out. The first sonogram, hearing the heartbeat. Watching her belly grow, taking care of her, holding their baby in his arms for the first time, he wanted to experience everything with her.

Ana pulled away a little. Her heart was beating loudly in her chest and her throat was growing dry. Her nerves were shot to shit.

Her eyes were wide and her voice wavered as she spoke. "I don't want to have any more biological children, Chris."
