L's POV
To be honest I was a little irritated that Watari interrupted us, I mean we had just gotten started, and I like to finish things that I start. Annika wanted to go get my cake so now it was a forced break. We always have later, hopefully.
Annika's POV
I noted that L was following me, and I laughed to myself, he's the one who's supposed to be driving. I still had my shoes on but L didn't. Did he even have shoes on when he picked me up? I know he left a pair at my house. We walked all the way to the door before I turned to L, "Did you have any shoes on when you were driving?" He looked up at, "No, I feel better doing things without shoes " I squinted at him, "Do you know how dangerous that is!" He just smiled and shrugged. He put his arms on my shoulders and turned us around, now he was the closest to the door. "I should probably take the lead now, and don't scowl too much, your face might get stuck." He stuck his tongue out at me then opened the door. I took a deep breath, "I swear if you kill us I'm going to slap you into purgatory." I heard him chuckle, I got close to him then yanked his hair, "I'm being serious." I had the biggest smile I could make on my face. Then in an instant we were on the floor with my hands pinned above my head, and this time he was the one with a big smile.
"I don't know Annika, that would only happen if I let you slap me, I'm pretty skilled when it comes to self-defense." I squirm a bit but instead I just look up at him, I put on my kitten face, "But you should let me,". He just chuckled, "And why would I do that?"My face changed to hopefully a sadistic smile, "Hopefully you're bare feet won't kill us and I'll see to it that I can control you!" He laughed and climbed off of me. When I got up I dusted myself off looking around to make sure no one had seen that. I can still hear L laughing but it's not as loud as it was a minute ago, I notice that he was at the elevator, his back was against the door, still laughing and he was still slouched. I walked my way over, "You done yet." He looked up, "I don't think I'll ever get over that." I could tell he was out of breath. He was still giggling when the elevator doors opened and he fell back, I reached for his hand but that only ended with me being pulled with him. We both erupted in a fit of giggles. Finally after about a minute I climbed off him, and put my hand out to help him out he accepted it. "We've only walked down the hallway and we've laughed more than I think we did yesterday." I nodded my head in agreement, I was afraid to talk because I might have laughed again. I pressed the button that took us to the lobby, then I followed L to the car. He almost slipped in the lobby but he caught himself, I waited until we had gotten in the car to laugh again. He just put his forehead on the steering wheel. It moved down and 'HOOOOOONK' the horn made him jump. I laughed again, "Yeezus, we can't do anything right today can we." He looks at me with a smile on his face, "Your cooking was really good." I slowly let my laughter die down, "Thank You." He nodded, and started the car.
It was a nice peaceful drive to the cafe. It took awhile to find a parking space, L has more patients than I'll ever have. When he finally found one I was half asleep. What can I say this car was really comfortable. When we had gotten out of the very comfortable couch on wheels I stretched, "Okay you go in the front I'll go through the back." He gave me a slight nod. I watched him walk away then I turned to walk to the back door. He had somehow fit in the parking lot for the arts and crafts store. It didn't take too long to walk to the back, I opened the door slightly to make sure nobody was around, so that I wouldn't hit them with the door. After entertaining I was greeted with a shout, "Hello Annika!" It seems that everyone in the kitchen greeted me. I smile, "Hey you guys. Where's Julia?" I watched her walk out behind Baldroy, "Hey Annika, what can I help you with." I smiled at her kind voice, "I actually came for the cake. Turns out Ryuzaki will eat vegetables." I giggled at the memory of L refusing to eat anything. Julia nodded, "Follow me." She was walking towards the huge fridge where most of the desserts were kept. She opened the cooler and pulled out the cake. It was in a black box with a plastic window. It was exactly how I wanted it. "Despite the size I'm sure Ryuzaki will love it!." Julia smiled, "I was going to make it heart shaped but at the time I didn't want to feel the wrath of your slap."
I laughed at her statement, "It wouldn't really have mattered, cake is cake and Ryuzaki will eat it anyway." She nodded, and handed me the cake. I gently took it from her and then with the cake balanced on one hand I waved, "Thank you so much, I'll have your money by Tuesday." She waved back, "Don't worry about paying me, it's a gift, let's say for the young couple." I blushed and nodded my head. As I was almost to the door leading the interior of the cafe I exclaimed, "Thank you Julia, you're the best!" I heard her laugh a little but I didn't listen any further, instead I walked through the door and scanned the room for L. Speaking about him to people is a little hard because I have to remind myself to always call him Ryuzaki, well except when we're alone. I see L in the farthest corner, he preoccupied himself by making a castle out of the jelly packets. I made my way over cake in hand.
L's POV
Annika seemed to be taking her time to get the cake, but I didn't mind, it turns out that guy James is also here but he won't bother us, and if he does, well let's just say something interesting will happen. My jelly castle is coming along fine, it has two floors of grape and now going four floors of strawberry jelly. Things are going swell. After about two more minutes my castle is complete. I smile slightly in accomplishment, I never used to smile but with Annika it's just so natural, I always thought I looked slightly creepy, but apparently not. I looked up from my jelly castle and saw Annika making her way over with a black box. That must be the cake. Mmmmm, cake. She smiles at me, and when she finally reaches the table she sits down and opens the box. "Here is your prize." and she slides into the booth in front of me.
I lick my lips in anticipation, "This has to be the second best prize I've ever received." She giggled, "Oh yeah what's your best prize, a giant candy tower." My smile grew, "Actually the best price I ever received was you." I saw her face light up red, she's even cuter when she blushes. "Thank you L, now are you going to eat your cake or can I eat it." I squinted my eyes, "No this is my cake, I ate the vegetables now I get the prize." She just laughed, I refused to smile. "You lost so I got the cake, those were the rules." She continued to laugh using her hand to try and mute it. I didn't mind sharing with her. I just wanted to get her riled up a bit. But it doesn't seem to be working. I waited for her to stop her laughing fit, "I just can't take you seriously when you talk like that." Wait what, I was talking like a jerk, "I have no idea what you're talking about?" I made a point of raising my eyebrow. She just snickered. "You sounded like someone who screams bubbles at people when they're angry!" I smirked, "And who's to say I don't do that." She just smiled, "Because if you did it would draw attention to you, and I'm pretty sure you don't really care for people to know who you are."
I nodded, "That is correct but I still don't see the point of you laughing at me." I pointed a finger at her. She just rolled her eyes, then I watched her hand travel from the table to the cake. She picked up a chocolate covered strawberry and put it at eye level with both of us. She waved it back and forth, my eyes following it. I licked my lips, a quick action. She stopped moving it and looked me in the eye, she winked and then she quickly ate it. "Hey that's my strawberry." She smiled, "Mmmm, it's so good I could just eat all by myself.." I clenched my fist, "I will eat you!" I couldn't help my little growl. She giggled, I watched her hand as she went for another strawberry, as soon as she lifted it eye level I tried to snatch it. She pulled it back just a second before I could. I growled again, what can I say I love my desert, and she doesn't seem to be letting me eat my prize.''It's my..." Before I could finish my statement she stuck the strawberry in my mouth. I chewed off the top leaf, then ate the rest flicking the leaf at her. She just smiled and rolled her eyes.
We had spent about an hour talking and eating the cake. I had quickly shook off her eating a couple of strawberries. We ended up sharing the same amount anyway so I guess it really didn't matter. This day had been great, I was really surprised at how good the vegetables were, and the cake was just so freaking delicious.
Annika's POV
We decided to leave the cafe after we completed the cake. We walked out the cafe hand in hand all the way to the car, mind the fact that L was still in socks. When we were in the car I couldn't help but question him, "So how many pairs of socks do you usually go through." He looked at me confused before he answered, "The same amount as any other person does." I raised a questioning eyebrow yet again but dropped the subject. We held small conversations as we made our way back to his hotel. When he parked the car he asked me to stay in my seat and wait for him, I was the one confused now. I unbuckled and watched as L got out of the car and walked around to open the door for me. I smiled as he opened the door and let out his hand for me to grab, "Why aren't you such a gentlemen." L just nodded his head at me. He shut the door and locked the car with the keys. We walked all the way to his hotel room hand in hand.
When we walked into L's room Watari popped his head from out of the kitchen, "How was the cake L!" L smiled before he replied "It was delicious Watari. I enjoyed it immensely." Watari just nodded his head and was back in the kitchen. L led me to his bedroom and closed the door behind him. We were in complete darkness before he flicked the light switch. I looked around the room, the big bed looked barely slept in and I saw a pile of paper on the far corner of the room. I shrugged my shoulders and made my way to the bed. I threw myself on the huge mattress, it felt like a giant pillow.
I looked over to L and he was just staring at me, I gave him a small smile, "Why'd don't you come and join me." L scratched his head before he slowly made his way over to the bed with me. He walked all the way around to the opposite side and laid down with his hands behind head. I let out a big sigh, "Well aren't you just boring. He chuckled, "Why don't you just come join me." I let out a small groan. I sat up so that I could take off my shoes before I repositioned myself so I was curled up on his side with my head on his chest. He was just so comfortable.
L's POV
Watching Annika fall into the big bed shouldn't have been so seductive as it had been. Devil L had popped up of course, saying something along the line of how nice it would be to rail into her. I quickly shook him off but I still couldn't help the thoughts filtering through my mind at the moment. As to why I made Annika come to me, I didn't want to lose control of myself too soon. Annika was just so beautiful to me, I loved the way her hair fell, I loved the natural curves of her body. Her voice was an angelic, it was a wonderful feeling knowing that I was the one she chose.
I couldn't help but wrap an arm around her, she didn't mind wearing short sleeve shirts around me and that was nice to know. I grazed my finger up and down on the soft skin on my arm, I heard her sigh in enjoyment. It encouraged me to continue. I looked down at the curled up beauty, her eyes were closed and she had a small smile on her face. I closed my eyes as well and relaxed. It was so calming to just lay here with her on me.

I was awoken by Watari's strong voice, "L, it's time to wake up, we have to take Ms. Annika home." I grunted in response and slowly opened my eyes. We had fallen asleep together on my bed with the light still on. I couldn't believe how easy it was to sleep with her, not in the dirty sense but in the literal sense. I looked down at Annika, she was still sound asleep, I carefully shook her awake, when her eyes opened I explained that we needed to get her home. She nodded in response and sat up. I watched her as she yawned and stretched out her arms. We walked out of the room together after she put her shoes back on.
Watari was waiting for us, he was already by the door with Annika's lunchbox and the car keys in his hand. He was always so well prepared. The walk to the car was silent, Annika and I were holding hands the whole way. We both crawled into the back seat when we got to the car. After we put our seatbelts on she laid her head down on my shoulder. It didn't take long to get back to her apartment, it was already 12:00am so that's probably why he woke us up. Annika had fallen asleep on the car ride so I carried her up to her apartment, I told Watari to go back to the hotel. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow but he left anyway. When I got inside I made sure no one had ransacked the place, luckily they hadn't. I carried her all the way to her bedroom, I was careful placing her on the bed. I crawled in next to her and just relaxed. I was yet again comfortable and I focused on her breathing. Within minutes I was drifting off.
