Thank you for the reviews! I think I might do a quick update of Determined by Fate tonight or early tomorrow morning before work. I hope you like this chapter!

Chapter 14

Buffy rushed into the Espresso Pump to meet Willow. Her mother had allowed her to take her car so that she could get home faster before Angelus came over to pick her up. She spotted Willow's red hair as soon as she walked in, she could see her sitting at a table already, along with Cordelia, which was surprising. She thought Cordelia would be with Doyle. "Hey, guys." Buffy smiled, taking the seat next to her friends. "Cordy, I didn't know you were going to be here. Did something happen with Doyle?"

Cordelia sighed dramatically. "Yeah, he went home!"

Buffy frowned. Did Cordelia scare him away? Why would he leave when he just arrived. "You scared him away and it wasn't even a full 48 hours, that has got to be a new record."

"It wasn't even a full 24 hours!" Cordelia pouted, crossing her arms. "But I didn't scare him away, his dad called him and asked him to go back… something about work."

"I thought he had to get things figured out for work and that was why he didn't come sooner.." Willow looked between the blonde and brunette.

Buffy shrugged as she grabbed Willow's cup of coffee, taking a sip, and earning a look from her friend. "There must be something going on with dad's right now because Angelus' dad is going on a business trip so we had to move up our trip to Texas."

"Move it up?" Willow asked confused, pulling her cup closer to her, protectively, once Buffy placed it on the table. "But you are going this weekend."

Cordelia turned to look at the blonde, suddenly very interested in Buffy. "When are you going?"

"Today." Buffy replied with raised eyebrows. "Literally as soon as I get home from here. Angelus will be at my house and we have to leave by 10."

"I'm coming!" Cordelia exclaimed quickly.

Buffy frowned at Cordelia. How can she just say that she is coming with them? She got to see Doyle, granted it wasn't for very long, but she and Angelus were going to have alone time! "You're coming?"

"Duh!" Cordelia nodded. "I mean, Doyle is there and I didn't get to see him for very long. I will just go home with you so that I'm there when Angelus gets there."

Willow looked at her friend concerned. "But you won't even have any clothes packed."

"So what!" Cordy shrugged. "Doyle will buy me new ones."

Buffy shook her head and clicked her tongue. "Why didn't I think of that?"

The brunette rolled her eyes. "Because you aren't smart."

"Cordy, one word." Willow smiled. "Deliver." Willow's comment got a laugh out of Buffy, while Cordelia looked confused. The brunette still didn't know that the DEL key on the computer keyboard meant Delete. "Are you all packed?" The redhead asked the blonde.

Buffy nodded. "I was struggling with trying to figure out what to take when I thought we would be leaving over the weekend and then Angelus called and I had a total freak out moment. Mom, Faith and Dawnie helped me pack. Safe to say, I have a wide range of outfit choices."

"I bet!" Willow laughed, taking a drink of her coffee. "Especially with Faith's help. How is it now that she is back?"

Buffy smiled at her friend. "Good. It feels normal now." The blonde reached over, grabbing the redheads coffee again.

"Are you going to get your own?" She asked, watching the blonde drink her coffee.

The blonde shook her head, smiling as she took another sip. "That would take too long. You wouldn't want it to cut into my Willow time… especially since we won't see each other for a little while."

"Fine. Point taken." She playfully glared at the blonde. "So Faith doesn't mind helping with Dawnie while you are in Texas?"

Buffy shook her head. "Nope, I can tell that she missed Dawnie and Dawnie definitely missed Faith!" The blonde turned to Cordelia. "You are awfully quiet over there."

"Deliver?" Cordelia frowned, shaking her head.

Buffy ran outside the house just as Angelus pulled up, she smiled as she jumped off the porch steps and he caught her in his arms."Right on time." She whispered, kissing him. "Which is odd considering Xander is in the passenger seat. Why…" the blonde looked from her friend in the car to her boyfriend. "Is Xander in the passenger seat?"

"He's going to drive my car back home." He told her, kissing her again. "He is NOT coming with us. We are going to be alone." He gently kissed her neck.

"Yeah, about that…" The blonde trailed off at the same time that Cordelia came out of the front door.

"Why is Harris in the car?!" The brunette screeched before turning towards her blonde friend. Buffy let out a sigh as she unwrapped her legs from Angelus' waist, settling on the walkway leading to her house. "He isn't coming!"

Buffy cringed, earning a questioning look from her boyfriend. "She pretty much told me she is coming with us so that she can see Doyle. Actually, there was no pretty much about it. She told me."

"See Doyle?" Angelus questioned, then pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Wait, I think I remember getting a text from him saying he needed to go home. I was pretty busy though, I didn't have time to respond."

"I'm sure I just asked a question." The brunette said annoyed. "Harris?"

Buffy rolled her eyes. "He isn't coming, Cordy. Xander is just going to drive Angelus' car home."

"And he is really tired and cranky about it." Angelus cringed looking back at his best friend then to the girls. "So, let's keep the talking to a minimum."

"Me?" Buffy pouted then pointed to her friend. "Or her?"

"Everyone." Angelus eyed his girlfriend. "I thought he was going to bite my head off when I asked him if he was ready to go."

Cordelia crossed her arms over her chest, annoyed. "But he gets to drive your car."

Buffy nodded, agreeing with her friend. "That always makes him happy."

"So does sleep." He gave the blonde a half smile. "Where's your bags? I will carry them to the car for you."

"Just inside the door." Buffy nodded towards the house. "Cordy doesn't have bags. Because this just became a thing when we had coffee."

"Ah." Angelus nodded, glancing at the brunette then back down to his girlfriend. "What's she going to do for clothes?"

Buffy smiled before whispering. "She said Doyle is going to buy her new ones… only, I don't think he knows she is coming."

Angelus ran his fingers through his hair before making his way up the stairs to grab Buffy's bag. "This is going to be fun."

"I was first class rich." Cordelia said quietly as she took a seat on the airplane. "You are private plane rich. I knew it!"

Angelus let out a small laugh, taking his seat and motioning for Buffy to sit beside him. "Believe me, so is Doyle."

Buffy shook her head at her friend. Even though her father was rich, money wasn't as important to Buffy as it was to Cordelia. She didn't care if she travelled in coach.

"I'm sure he is!" Cordelia exclaimed. "The car that he rented…"

"Mercedes?" Angelus asked with raised eyebrows.

Cordy's mouth dropped in shock. "How did you know?"

The dark-haired man laughed. "It's his favorite car. He always gets another one when the new model comes out."

The brunette girl smiled wider, getting more comfortable in the seat when a woman walked up beside her. "Would you like anything before take off, miss?"

Cordelia's smile got even bigger. "God, yes!"

"How about you?" Angelus asked, turning towards his girlfriend.

Buffy closed her eyes, shaking her head, bringing her back to the present. "Huh?"

"Would you like anything?" He asked her again as the flight attendant was still talking to Cordelia about everything they currently offered.

"Oh." She shook her head again. "No, thank you."

Angelus smiled at the blonde. "You are being pretty quiet."

"Just tired, I guess." She told him, but she wasn't tired. She was nervous and completely scared out of her mind about meeting Angelus' family. Before she was just excited about being able to spend time with him, uninterrupted time, where she didn't have to go home! Now she was on an airplane about to take off and fly to another state to meet her new boyfriend's family! Don't people normally wait a few months to meet the family? When she was dating Scott they waited six months! Who does things this fast? Apparently, she does! They haven't been an official couple for a week, technically, it had been six days, and she was already flying to somewhere she had never been before, just to meet his parents. Was she crazy? Probably. She turned to look at Angelus and smiled. Yeah, she was crazy. Love makes you do the wacky. She bit her lip. Love? She took a deep breath, yeah, love. She loved him. As insane as it seemed, she loved him from the moment she saw him. She was never one to believe in love at first sight but now, she knew it was real. She took another deep breath. She was ready to meet his family, nervous but ready.

Angelus watched as several different emotioned played across his girlfriend's face. "Are you sure you are okay?"

Buffy smiled and nodded. "Totally."

He gave her a small smile. "If you want more coffee, I'm sure they can make you some."

Buffy smiled wider, leaning her head against his arm. "I'm okay."

"More?" Cordelia scoffed. "She only had like two sips of Willow's coffee." The brunette rolled her eyes. "She was in too much of a hurry to get back home to meet you."

"Really?" He smiled down at the blonde, earning a small shrug from her. He laughed and kissed the top of her head as a voice came over the intercom telling them they were about to take off.

Angelus waved at a thin man leaning against the front of a Lincoln Town Car, as they waited for his and Buffy's luggage to be brought to them.

"Who is that?" Buffy asked, stepping up beside Angelus. Was she going to meet his father right off the plane? She probably looked horrible! She had fallen asleep leaning against Angelus, she was sure her hair was a mess and it would be just her luck that the light makeup she was wearing would be smudged all over her face. She turned to look at Cordelia, who seemed to be reading her mind. Her dark haired friend ran her fingers through the blonde's hair and then nodded. Buffy took that as a good sign that her makeup wasn't a mess. Cordy would have surely said something!

"That is Ethan." Angelus smiled as they started to follow the attendant to the car with their luggage. "He is an old family friend, and also my god father."

"Oh." Buffy nodded, his god father. That was pretty much family, right? "So, no pressure."

"Buffy." Angelus laughed, turning to look at her while they walked. "There is no pressure to begin with. My parents are going to love you."

Buffy raised her eyebrows at him. What was the point of his parents loving her if he didn't? Did he? No, only crazy people like her fell in love that fast!

"Angelus!" The older British man smiled, walking the short distance to his god son, holding out his arms, he brought the younger man in for a hug. "It has been too long!"

"It hasn't been that long, Ethan." He smiled back. "I came home for Christmas."

"Ah, but much too long for your parents." The older man eyed him teasingly. "Of all forms."

Angelus laughed. "Okay, I get it. I need to visit more… but, it's kind of hard with college. Maybe you should try coming to visit me."

Ethan raised an eyebrow at his god son. "What would I do in a town like Sunnydale? Wreak havoc? From what your mother tells me, it's a boring little town that doesn't even have a Starbucks."

"Actually, we do." Cordelia jumped in. "One."

"We just prefer the Espresso Pump." Buffy shrugged as Cordelia made a comment under her breath about not going there anymore.

Ethan smiled at the two girls. "Must be something new in the last 19 years then, 'ey? So, which one is she, huh?" Ethan pointed between Buffy and Cordelia.

"This is Buffy." Angelus stepped closer to the blonde, taking her by the hand.

Ethan nodded, towards the blonde. "I should have known."

Angelus creased his eyebrows at his god father, when it dawned on him what he was referring to. It's not like he had a thing for blondes! He had dated girls with different color hair before! "We ready?" He asked when the trunk of the car was closed and the airport employee made his way back towards the building.

Buffy looked from her boyfriend to his god father, not completely sure what had just happened.

"It is very nice to meet you, Buffy." He smiled before turning towards the brunette. "And you are?"

"Cordelia Chase." She answered. "Doyle is my boyfriend."

Buffy raised her eyebrows when she heard her friend's reply, she didn't know there was a title on what she and Doyle were.

Ethan smiled with a nod, then walked around the car towards the passenger side door. "I assume you would like to sit with Buffy, Angelus. How about you are in the front with me, Miss. Chase?"

Cordelia shrugged before climbing into the car.

Angelus opened the back door for Buffy, with a frown. Buffy quietly asked if he was okay, earning a nod from him as they both got into the car.

0o0o0

Angelus quickly got out of the car, waiting for Buffy to climb out behind him before shutting the door. He walked around to the back and gently knocked on the trunk, letting Ethan know to pop the trunk. He quickly grabbed his and Buffy's bags before shutting the trunk and reaching out for Buffy's hand.

Buffy looked down at both of their bags in one of his hands and the other reaching out for her. She took his hand and pointed to her bag. "I can take mine."

Angelus shook his head, but placed a kiss on the top of her head. He had been quiet the whole drive from the airport. "I got it."

Buffy bit her lip, not knowing what was wrong with her boyfriend. He had been fine on the airplane. She looked up at his parents house. It was huge! Much bigger than the house she used to live in, which now belonged to Angelus. They had to be let into the large iron gate with the letter G on it, by a security guard in a booth outside the gate, just to enter the large roundabout driveway with a water fountain in the center. A black limousine was parked in front of the house. She looked up at the three story mansion made of a light grey brick. From looking at the house alone, Angelus' family made her father look poor.

Angelus opened the front door with the hand he was carrying the bags with, he pushed it open, intending to allow Buffy to walk through first but raised his eyebrows when Cordelia rushed past them. Ethan laughed at the brunette and slipped into the house behind her. Buffy looked at Angelus with a shrug. Buffy walked through the door with Angelus behind her, never letting go of his hand.

A woman with black shoulder length hair made her way towards the foyer with a bright smile, she seemed as if she was trying to hide her excitement but failing. A movement to the side caught her eye and she glanced into the large living room. Turning back to Angelus, she hugged him tightly, causing him to drop the bags and wrap one arm around her. "Please tell me Buffy is the one you are holding hands with and not the one snooping around my living room."

Angelus laughed at her comment. "Yes, this is Buffy." He held up their intertwined hands, then motioned towards the brunette. "That is Cordelia."

Suddenly an older man with glasses came rushing from the same direction as the woman. "Oh, come on! You said we would meet her together!"

The woman smiled at the man before turning towards the younger couple. "I couldn't wait. Your tweed slows you down."

"Why, I.." The man shook his head. "I haven't worn tweed in years!"

"But you still move like you do." The dark-haired woman teased.

Angelus laughed, turning towards his girlfriend. "Buffy, these are my parents. Jenny and Rupert Giles."

"It's nice to meet you." Buffy smiled, reaching her hand out to shake.

"Oh please!" Jenny smiled brightly, pulling Buffy in for a hug. "We hug in this family!"

"Certainly, we do." Rupert gave the blonde a small smile as he hugged her next. He could already tell he was going to like her. "Mostly because she makes us."

Buffy chuckled at the interaction between Angelus' parents. They seemed very different. His mother seemed care free, while his father seemed more… British. She didn't want to say stuffy but he certainly came off more put together than most people. She suddenly understood Angelus' past comment about his dad.

Suddenly, Rupert turned his head. "Oh my. Who is that?"

Jenny shook her head and teasingly put her hands on her hips. "That's Cordelia, jeez Rupert!" She turned to look at her son. "Who exactly is Cordelia?"

"She is Buffy's best friend." Angelus laughed again. "Or one of them."

"Oh!" Jenny waved her hand as if it all made sense now. "You were scared that we were going to be crazy so you brought a friend in case we turned out to be killers, we could kill her first and you would have time to get away. Smart." She tapped the side of her head with her pointer finger. "I like the way you think."

"Actually, she is crazy." He told his girlfriend. "But not killer crazy." He turned to his mother. "Cordelia is actually here to see Doyle. He flew to Sunnydale to see her but something came up and he had to come back, so she came to spend more time with him."

"Well…" His mother thought for a moment. "We weren't anticipating an extra person but we can have another room ready in no time!"

"Mom, that won't be necessary." Angelus shook his head. "I'm sure she will be staying with Doyle."

"Yes, well…" His father took off his glasses as he pulled out a white cloth and started to clean them.

"It wouldn't be any trouble at all." Jenny reasoned. "Besides, even if you don't want to believe it, Liam, you are still teenagers."

"Mom, do you mind laying off the Liam usage while Cordelia is around?" Angelus said, looking towards the brunette that was still looking around the house. "It's bad enough Buffy knows."

Buffy smiled with a little laugh, leaning closer to him, she rested her chin on his arm, looking up at him. "I think it's cute."

"It's not cute." He shook his head, looking down at her. "It's embarrassing."

Buffy shook her head, wrapping her other arm around his bicep. "I like it. I like everything about you."

Angelus smiled down at her before dropping a kiss down on her nose. "I like everything about you."

Jenny smiled brightly as she watched her son with his girlfriend, she flung her hand to the side of her, hitting her husband to get his attention.

"Ouch!" Rupert scowled at his wife, then looked towards the young couple. "I certainly see it."

She turned towards her husband, gushing as she mouthed 'so cute'.

Angelus rolled his eyes at his parents. "So, where is Kathy?"

"She is shopping with some friends." Jenny told him. "She should be back soon."

Angelus nodded. "Well, we are going to put our bags upstairs and get something for lunch. I kind of promised to feed Buffy before now."

Buffy pursed her lips and nodded. "Way before now."

"I could throw something together." Jenny smiled, motioning behind her towards the kitchen.

Angelus picked the bags back up from the floor, walking around his parents, lightly pulling Buffy with him by their conjoined hands. "I told Buffy we would go to SmashBurger, they don't have one in Sunnydale. I'm sure Cordelia would love one of your salads though, mom." He looked towards Buffy as they made their way up the large staircase. "I'm sure you are hungry so we will save the tour for later."

Buffy laughed as she let him lead the way. "Starved."

Walking down a long hallway, he motioned to a door. "This is my room." He nodded towards the door on the other side of the hallway. "Mom said they were going to make that room up for you."

"Oh." Buffy looked from his bedroom door to the one across the hall. "Thanks."

"Come on." He motioned towards the door, opening it and flicking on the light. "It's just the run of the mill guest room." He shrugged, setting her bag down on the floor near the door. He looked at the bed with the white comforter with the metal decor letters spelling out 'Be My Guest' on one of the shelves. "My friends used to sleep in here when they would spend the night. Mom seems to have made a few changes"

Buffy nodded as she looked around the room, walking further in, she ran her hand along the overstuffed off white armchair. "It's nice. I can see why she wanted to decorate your house. I could never pull this kind of thing off."

"I happen to like everything we picked out." Angelus crossed his arms over his chest with a smile.

"Me too." She teasingly pouted, wrapping her arms around his waist. "It's just not at your mom's level."

"Well, I don't want my mom's level." He reassured her, wrapping his own arms around her waist. "Considering a bunch of males in their late teens and early 20's are going to be living there, I think our level is more appropriate. Now, are you ready to go or do you need a few minutes?"

Buffy bit her lip. "Well, there is one thing I have been dying to do since we got off the plane." She stood on her tip toes, giving him a kiss. What was meant to be a soft, gentle kiss turned more heated. "I didn't think that would be appropriate to do in front of your parents or Ethan."

"Why not?" Angelus gave her his trademark grin. "I did worse in front of your mother."

Buffy laughed, bringing her hands up to cradle his face. "I wasn't complaining."

Angelus kissed her again, gentler this time. "I'm actually surprised your mother let me see you again after that."

Buffy shrugged. "She likes you."

"Thank the Heavens for that!" He exclaimed looking up at the ceiling, then back down at her. "If I ever had a daughter and I walked in on that, I would be chasing the guy out with a shotgun."

"Complete with boots and tighty whities?" She teased.

Angelus looked at her seriously. "You know it."

Buffy laughed, hiding her face in his chest. "You don't wear tighty whities, Angel! I have only seen you wear black boxers."

"This is the future though." He pointed out with a smile at the use of the nickname she gave him. He never got tired of hearing her call him Angel. "At some point I'm going to switch."

Buffy looked up at him with a grossed out face. "Please don't."

"For you." He smiled before kissing her. "Let's go get something to eat."

0o0o0

"We have a couple of options." Angelus smiled as he bit into his favorite burger, they just didn't have this kind of food in Sunnydale. "We could find something to do around the city or we could go back and hang out with my parents."

Buffy glanced around the casual dining restaurant, it was bright red, white and black, with loud music and a lot of people. She definitely wasn't in Sunnydale anymore. "Whatever you want to do." She shrugged, eating a fry. "I mean, I would say that we could go see some places that you used to hang out at but really, how interesting could the library be?"

"Making fun of me now, I see." Angelus laughed.

"Angel, you know I would never do that!" Buffy laughed, placing her hand over her heart. "I do see it now though, even just spending a few minutes with your dad. I get it."

"I told you!" He laughed, before eating more of his meal.

Buffy glanced around at some people trying to squeeze by their table. "I really don't know anything about this area so, honestly, it really is whatever you want to do. Either way, I think I am going to need a to-go box. I can't finish this."

Angelus creased his eyebrows. "You don't like it?"

"It's not that." The blonde shook her head. "I'm just full. It's a lot of food."

"Yeah, I guess it is." He nodded. "I just never noticed in high school because of all the training I did for football."

"You certainly had a lot going on when you were in high school." Buffy nodded, as Angelus continued to eat. "Me on the other hand… I had a lot of time to get in trouble with Xander. Sometimes we dragged Willow along for the ride and I'm pretty sure she is still scarred."

"Somehow I can see that happening." He laughed, taking a drink. Looking down at his empty basket of food, he started to get up. "I'm going to get you a to-go box."

Buffy smiled up at him as he leaned down to kiss her.

0o0o0

"Okay, but if we go, are we going to bring anything back with us?" Buffy asked laughing as they walked inside the Giles mansion.

"Ahhh…" Angelus shrugged his shoulders with a teasing smile. "I mean the possibilities are pretty good."

"Don't say that!" The blonde laughed, playfully pushing her boyfriend. "Angel, I don't want that kind of stuff following me back to Sunnydale."

"Maybe if you get lucky it will be a kid ghost and Dawn would have a friend to play with." Angelus teased her again.

Buffy's eyes got large. "How would I even host a playdate with a ghost kid?"

Angelus made his way towards the kitchen with Buffy's leftover food in his hand, there really wasn't much food left because they had both been snacking on it. Buffy followed him into the large kitchen. "I don't think it would just be a playdate, babe. That kid wouldn't be leaving."

"What kid?" Angelus' mother asked, walking into the kitchen from the patio doors.

Angelus looked towards his mother as he put the to-go box of food into the refrigerator. "Oh, we were just talking about possibly going to do a ghost tour one of these nights."

"Oh?" His mother asked with interest. "Which one? The walking or the historic one?"

Angelus shrugged. "Don't know yet."

"I would highly recommend the historic ghost tour." Jenny smiled, walking further into the kitchen.

Angelus rolled his eyes playfully. "Is that because of dad?"

"No!" Jenny exclaimed, and then shrugged. "Okay, so we originally went because your father is into history but I really enjoyed it. The tour guides dress in historical costumes. It was a lot of fun."

"Have you experienced anything weird happening around the house since you went?" Buffy questioned.

"Buffy is worried about a ghost attaching itself to us and bringing it back to Sunnydale." Angelus said teasingly as he sat at one of the bar stools at the kitchen island.

Jenny shook her head. "No, not at all. Oh! I know, why don't we all go?"

"Ah, mom." Angelus looked from Buffy to his mother. "We were kind of going to make a date night out of it."

His mother put her hands on her hips. "Your father and I are a couple, you know. We go on dates too. It could be a double."

Buffy smiled at her boyfriend, as he laughed nervously. "Mom, this would only be our second official date. Everything you would consider a date has been with other people around."

"Or happened before you even told me you had feelings for me." Buffy added in.

Angelus nodded at the blonde. "Kind of. I mean, I asked you out and then we had lunch and dinner together."

"That wasn't really an official date though, right?" Buffy wrinkled her nose. "That was when we were furniture shopping and would mean we have been together longer than six days."

"Has it really only been six days?" Jenny asked, shocked. It would seem like they had another whirlwind romance on their hands. She also didn't know Rupert for very long before they decided she needed to pick up her life and be wherever it was that he was.

Angelus looked at the books on the shelf in his father's library, he knew there was an old poetry book in there somewhere. Normally he would be able to find the books easily, his father always organized his books. He used to make fun of his dad, accusing him of using the Dewey Decimal System. Now the books looked as if Xander had organized them.

"Oh, hello." Rupert smiled at his son as he came into the library. "Did you need something?"

"I was just looking for that book of poetry, the one that you got from grandpa. I thought Buffy might like it."

"Ah!" Rupert adjusted his glasses, making his way over to a shelf on the other side of the room. He lightly ran his fingers along the books.

Angelus watched his father look for the book. "What happened to the Dewey system, dad?"

His dad shook his head. "Doyle was in here looking around and when I came back, everything was… different."

"Doyle and books?" Angelus questioned, not believing it.

"Yes, I'm not sure what he was looking for. He never actually told me. His father did make mention of Doyle looking for a business book though." He pulled the book off the shelf, holding it out to his son but not handing it to him. "Have you thought anymore about what we discussed?"

Angelus let out a sigh, he should have known the mention of Doyle or his father would bring this discussion up. "Not really." He shrugged, he wasn't anywhere closer to saying yes to his father than he was the last time they talked about it. "I'm taking the classes dad, but I'm not making any promises. Not to mention, I live in Sunnydale now."

"To attend college, Angelus." His father pointed out. "Once you graduate you will be returning home, correct?"

"That was the original plan." He said, finally taking the book from the older man's hand. "Sunnydale has kind of grown on me."

"Sunnydale or a certain blonde we both know?" The British man's lips turned up slightly in a smile.

Angelus shrugged. "I like Sunnydale, even if it doesn't have everything that I'm used to."

Rupert eyed his son for a moment. "You can honestly say that Buffy doesn't influence your decision at all?"

"Sunnydale does have a certain appeal now that I have met Buffy." Angelus finally agreed. "But it's not like Buffy has tried to sway my decision on this matter, or any matter."

His dad nodded his head. "I figured as much, she seems like a wonderful young woman, Angelus, but you have only been together for a week. You can hardly make a choice that could very well change your life over a girl. Doyle hasn't let any girl lead him away from his family business."

"I'm not Doyle." Angelus pointed out.

"Yes, I know." Rupert sighed. "Doyle joined the family business straight out of high school."

Angelus tossed the book onto his father's desk, completely forgetting it was the whole reason he went into the library. "I haven't even been here a day yet, dad, and you are already starting in. I don't want to talk about it."

Angelus left the library quickly, making his way up the stairs to his room where he had left Buffy. He smiled at the sight of Buffy standing in the doorway of his bathroom.

"Hey." She smiled. "You still wanted to go swimming?"

Angelus shrugged, sitting on his bed and leaning against his pillows. "I don't know if I'm really in the mood now."

Buffy raised her eyebrows, walking into the bedroom. "Uh oh. What happened?"

Angelus took a deep breath, as Buffy sat between his legs, leaning her back against his chest. "My dad started in about the family business again."

Buffy nodded, remembering him mention it before. "What exactly does he want you to do? Take over?"

"He hasn't mentioned taking over completely… yet." He told her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "He does want me involved, he mentioned starting another branch and expanding the business even more."

"But if you started another branch then wouldn't you be in charge of it?" She wondered.

"To an extent." He told her, hugging her closer to him. "The business is my dad's but I would be in charge of that location. But… I don't really want to leave Sunnydale. I like it there, not to mention, it has you. I don't want to leave you and move back here to work with my dad. Not when I just found you."

"I don't want you to leave me either." Buffy thought for a moment. "What if you kind of met him in the middle?"

"Like?" He questioned.

The blonde shrugged. "Like you both get what you want. You expand the business but you don't leave Sunnydale. What if… and this is a HUGE if, totally crazy idea… what if you started a branch in Sunnydale?"

"Wow." Angelus blinked a few times, that was a crazy idea. "I have never thought of that. I mean, it's definitely expanding. It would be something to think about and discuss."

"Kinda like me with my living situation when college starts." Buffy nodded. "Only yours is way bigger."

Angelus laughed, kissing her neck.

"Angel, don't!" Buffy shouted as he jumped off the diving board into the pool. She gasped as the water splashed on her. She wiped the water from her face, looking around the pool to see where he was, but she couldn't see him. Suddenly, she was pulled under for a second before they both came to the surface. "I can't believe you just did that!"

Angelus smiled as he pulled her close to him. "What? It's not like you weren't already wet."

The blonde playfully glared at him. "Not my hair."

"Yeah, okay, Cordelia." He teased her.

She slapped her hand into the water, splashing both of them, instead of just him.

"That was a fail." He laughed, splashing her.

Jenny looked out the window when she heard a girl laughing, she smiled at the sight of her Liam and Buffy playing around in the pool. Her son had a total of two serious girlfriends and he was never as relaxed with them as he has been with Buffy. Certainly never with Darla. He had dated Darla for a couple of years, but she and his father had never liked her. Darla was older than Liam, and one would think she would be more experienced in healthy relationships, but the relationship Darla had with their son was far from healthy. It was a toxic relationship and every time Liam had tried to end it, she would come back crying and they would end up back together. Even after it seemed that their relationship was over for good, it was always in the back of their minds that she would come back. As much as they missed him when he left for Sunnydale, they knew it was for the best because there wouldn't be a chance of Darla worming her way back into his life. She didn't know much about Buffy, but just the short time she had spent with her, she knew that Buffy was much better than her son's ex-girlfriend.

Jenny walked out onto the patio, smiling at the couple in the pool. "Would you two like some dinner? Whatever you would like! I could make something, or if you prefer to have a professional do it, I'm sure Catherine wouldn't mind."

Angelus looked to his mother, the smile never leaving his face. "Isn't it Catherine's day off?"

"Well, yes." Jenny nodded before continuing. "But she loves you, I'm positive that she wouldn't mind."

Angelus wrapped his arms around Buffy from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Let her have her night off. We will figure out something. Between me, you and Kathy, we will manage. Just not this one…" He motioned down to Buffy with his head.

"Hey!" She pouted. "I feel like with your supervisor, I have gotten pretty good at stirring!"

Angelus laughed, kissing her cheek.

Angelus set the bowl of salad back down on the table, glancing at Buffy as she took a drink of water. "I guess Kathy wasn't going to be home soon."

"She called." Jenny told her son. "She is going to spend the night at her friends house."

Angelus raised his eyebrows at his mother's comment. "She knew we were coming though, that you guys were going to meet Buffy."

Rupert nodded. "She's a teenager, Angelus, all she cares about is clothes and boys right now."

"Buffy and Kathy are the same age." Angelus pointed out, glancing at Buffy again.

"And I'm certain that Buffy liked clothes and boys too." Rupert commented, looking towards the blonde. "Don't you?"

"Ah…" Buffy exhaled. "One boy. And I'm not really into clothes as much as I used to be, I mean, yeah, I like cute clothes but when I go shopping I always seem to end up in the kids section."

Jenny raised her eyebrows at the blonde, Angelus didn't mention his girlfriend having a child. "Why is that?"

"Mom." Angelus said, gaining his mother's attention. "I told you, she helps take care of her younger sister."

"Oh, right!" Jenny nodded in relief. "You did say that." She turned her attention back to the blonde. "It's just you, your younger sister and your mother?"

"And Faith." Buffy shrugged, taking a small bite of her grilled chicken that Angelus had made. "She's my friend from school. Her dad was always pretty non-existent in her life and her mom decided motherhood just wasn't for her. So, Faith lives with us."

"Oh, my." Rupert looked at the blonde shocked. He couldn't ever imagine leaving either one of his children. "Your mother must be an extraordinary woman to take in another child."

"Yeah." Buffy smiled thinking of her mother. "She kinda is."

"Actually." Jenny set down her fork, looking closely at the blonde. "I was wondering something. You just look so familiar, Buffy. Are your parents from Sunnydale?"

Buffy nodded. "Well, my mom."

"Familiar?" Angelus smiled at his mother. "Mom, it's been what? 18, 19 years since you have been to Sunnydale. How could Buffy look familiar?"

Jenny playfully glared at her son before turning back to his girlfriend. "Your mother wouldn't happen to be Joyce Williams, would she?"

Buffy quickly set her water down, placing her hand over her mouth to keep from spitting it out. She swallowed quickly with large eyes. "Summers now, but yes! Williams is her maiden name."

Jenny smiled at the blonde before looking to her son. "Joyce was a good friend of mine for most of our lives. She was the reason I was on the yearbook committee and I was the reason she was in cheerleading."

"Wait." Buffy held out her hands. "My mom was in cheerleading?" She earned a nod from her boyfriend's mother. "But when I joined cheerleading she tried to get me to do yearbook instead."

"She didn't enjoy it." Jenny laughed. "She liked cheering as much as I liked yearbook but we did it for each other." Jenny thought for a moment. "Who did she end up marrying?"

"Uh, Hank Summers." Buffy offered. "They met at homecoming freshman year of college."

Jenny nodded, looking at Rupert. "Right around the time I left."

"She said she didn't really know anyone and didn't have a date, but she went anyway and she ended up meeting my dad. He DID have a date but she won't tell me that story until I'm older." Buffy joked, then paused. "So, if you were the friend my mom talked about being in yearbook with… that means you are Jennifer Calendar."

Jenny nodded. "I haven't used that name in a very long time, but yes."

Buffy raised her eyebrows, taking a moment to think. "So that means… I'm named after you?"

Angelus looked at his girlfriend questionably.

"My middle name." Buffy looked from Angelus to his parents. "Anne."

Jenny smiled brightly. "Yes! That's my middle name too!" The older woman looked from the blonde to her son. "You know, Liam is also named after your mother."

Angelus dropped his fork onto his plate with a loud clatter as he tried not to choke on his food. "How?!"

"Liam is the Irish form of William." She explained. "I wanted to name my child after my best friend but I also wanted to stick to my Irish roots."

"Next you are going to tell me we are related!" Angelus exclaimed, looking at his girlfriend with large eyes. Buffy's own eyes grew wide. "We aren't… we aren't related, are we?"

"That would certainly explain the closeness." Rupert whispered, cleaning his glasses.

"No!" Jenny exclaimed. "Absolutely not! You just happen to have mother's that were very close at one point in their lives."

"And we just happen to find each other." Buffy said softly, looking down at her plate, then to Angelus. "It's kind of cool if you think about it." She shrugged. "At least we don't have to worry about our mothers liking each other."

Jenny smiled at the blonde.

Buffy changed into her pajamas, then made her way across the hall to Angelus's room. She lightly knocked on the door, waiting for him to tell her to come in. "Buffy, you don't have to knock." He said with a smile.

The blonde shrugged, closing the door behind her. "Didn't want to interrupt you."

He narrowed his eyes at her, playfully, as he pulled down the covers on one side of the bed. "What are you going to walk in on that you haven't already seen?"

"True." She shrugged again, climbing up on the edge of his bed, one foot underneath her. "So, day one in Texas we find out that we aren't related, which believe me, is such a relief considering there are very few things I could walk in on that I haven't already seen." Angelus laughed at her comment. "And also, Cordy says Doyle has been showering her with gifts since he picked her up earlier."

"I bet." He scoffed, his childhood friend was already smitten with the tall brunette. Suddenly he paused. "Should I be showering you with gifts?"

Buffy pursed her lips before shaking her head. "No need, I like us the way we are."

"Me too." He smiled before leaning down to kiss her. Soon the kiss became heated and he lowered her back onto the bed as he climbed up on the bed, hovering over her. Buffy wrapped her arms around his waist, sneaking her hands up the back of his white t-shirt. She bent her knee, pulling him closer to her.

When the kiss was broken, Buffy bit her lip. "And to think I just came in to say goodnight."

"You know it's never just saying goodnight with us." He teased her before kissing her softly, he smiled when he heard her moan. He felt her bring her hands around to the front of his shirt, lightly rubbing his torso then tugging on his shirt. He smiled down at her as he pulled his shirt over his head. "Better?"

"So much." She whispered as her hands travelled further up his chest then back down to his torso. "It should be a rule that you don't wear a shirt."

Angelus raised his eyebrows at her. "Anywhere?"

Buffy bit her lip again as her hands explored his chest. "Not when we are alone."

Angelus kissed her again for several moments as her hands travelled even lower to the waistband of his lounge pants, but pulled away from her when there was another knock at his door. "Liam?"

"Shit." He mumbled when he heard his mother's voice. He climbed off of Buffy and quickly grabbed his discarded shirt, throwing it back on as Buffy jumped off the bed, running her fingers through her hair.

The door opened and his mother peaked her head in. "Oh." She said surprised. "Hello, Buffy. I was just coming to say goodnight to Liam."

"Me too." Buffy gave her a nervous laugh. "And now that I have…" she pointed to the door. "I'm just going to…"

Angelus grabbed her by the elbow gently, leaning down to give her a chaste kiss. It was meant to be a simple sweet kiss with his mother in the room but it still made her weak in the knees. "Goodnight." He whispered.

"Goodnight, Angel." She whispered back before turning towards the door. She smiled at his mother on her way out. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Buffy." Jenny smiled as the blonde walked out, shutting the door behind her. "You two are cute together."

Angelus nodded with a smirk. "That's what people say."

"And, I like her… Angel." His mother whispered his nickname.

Angelus let out a sigh. "That's what she calls me, no one else is allowed to."

"Huh." His mother scoffed. "Kind of like no one else is allowed to call you Liam?"

"That's different." He pointed out. "I hate the name Liam, but you're my mother." He shrugged. "I like it when she calls me Angel and…"

"And she's your Buffy." His mother said teasingly. "It makes you two even cuter, if that is possible. Your father likes her too, by the way. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and the fact that she is my old best friend's daughter is just a perk."

"She does." Angelus nodded. "She's nothing like…" He trailed off for a moment. "Ethan made a comment… he said he should have known Buffy was my girlfriend, like I have a type, or something."

"Well." His mother shrugged. "Kate and Darla."

"She's nothing like Darla though, mom." He sighed, sitting down on his bed. "I think that's what pissed me off more than anything. That anyone could compare her to Darla. She's so much better than Darla. Hell, she's better than Kate."

"And Kate was pretty good." His mother teased him, sitting beside him on his bed. She remembered a time when she thought Angelus was going to pick Kate over Darla. They all thought Kate was going to be it for him.

"Yeah." He nodded. "I never thought I would be happy that I didn't get back together with Kate. If I had then I probably wouldn't have gone to Sunnydale and to be honest, I can't imagine my life without Buffy in it."

"And to think it's only been six days." She smiled.

Angelus shook his head. "No, I saw her and I was a goner, I'm not even ashamed to admit that. I didn't even know her name, mom, and I knew… how does that happen?"

"Some things are meant to be." Jenny smiled. "Like me and your father."

"Yeah." He whispered. "I guess we are like you guys."

"Well, I'm going to let you get some sleep." She smiled, rubbing the back of his head. "I'm sure you had a long day."

Angelus nodded. "Night, mom."

"Goodnight, Liam."

Buffy sat in the chair in her room, texting Willow, Cordelia and Faith. She had called her mother as soon as she had gotten back to her room after Jenny had come into Angelus's room. She made sure to leave out the details of his mother being one of her old friends, that was something she wanted to see her mother's face when she told her. It was just too crazy! Buffy looked at the time, it was almost midnight and she should be exhausted, like, passed out as soon as her head hit the pillow type of exhausted. She didn't even have a moment to really relax since getting here, but instead of even trying to lay down she kept thinking about Angelus being in the room right across the hall and she was in her own room. Alone.

She bit her lip before getting out of the large chair, she grabbed her bag off the floor, opened the door and shut off the light before quietly walking across the hall to Angelus's room. She gently opened the door so she didn't wake him. Setting her bag down near the door she quietly shut the bedroom door and tip toed in the dark to his bed. She carefully climbed into the bed with him, instantly feeling his arms wrap around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
