Spider-Man/Doctor Strange The Midnight Sons Chapter 12
Zari lands the Waverider as she and Gary run out.
"Guys! You okay?" asked Gary.
"We just got our arses kicked by the goddamn devil! So sure! We're all feeling peachy!" said Constantine.
"We need to find him and send him back to hell or the fate of the planet is in jeopardy" said Strange. "I agree. My father is one of the strongest beings in the underworld. Defeating him won't be an easy task." said Satana.
Spider-Man slowly gets back to his feet as he winces in pain and hobbled to the group. Wanda rushes over as he helps him stay up. "Easy. Easy. I got you" said Wanda. "We need to get back to Brooklyn. We have to stop him" said Peter as he collapses.
"No offense laddy but you aren't exactly in the best of shape. Hell none of us are" said Constantine. "It doesn't matter" Peter said as he got back up. "I can't let anyone hurt the ones I love. No matter how bigger, smarter or stronger they are than me. Not in my city. Not on my life" said Spider-Man as he then hears the screams of Aunt May and MJ echoed throughout the streets.
"Oh no. HANG ON I'M COMING!" Peter said as he swings off.
"Peter wait !" shouts Moon Knight as it was too late.
"He's gonna get himself bloody killed!" said Elsa.
"Not if I can help it. I'm going after him. The rest of you get on the ship and track him down. This ends tonight" said Strange as he flies off in pursuit.
"You heard the doctor, on the ship. MOVE IT!" ordered Ava.
Spider-Man frantically swung all throughout New York as he followed the screams trying to get closer. He swings and noticed a construction site as he sees Aunt May and MJ bound by restraints. He quickly swings over and lands on a support beam.
"I'm gonna get you out of this" said Peter as he tried to free the ladies only to be met with a kick to the face as he's sent crashing through beams and Cinder blocks.
"You're fast. But I'm faster!" said Mephisto as Spider-Man goes got a leaping punch only to be met with a backhand to the floors below him.
As Mephisto floats down, Spider-Man grabs a support beam with his web and hurls it right at Mephisto but he blocks it as he grabs Spider-Man by his neck and throws him up. But Spider-Man was made aware of his surroundings as he uses the momentum to swing around back at Mephisto arms out going for a diving tackle.
Spider-Man then went for a Fury of punches as he dodges attacks as they both fought. Mephisto uses his telekinesis to grab and lift Peter and slams him into a pillar over and over. Which Spider-Man countered with a web yank into a right hook.
"I'm coming!" said Spider-Man web swings and Wall crawls up to save Aunt May and MJ as he's grabbed by the ankle and they both tumble off of thr building.
Spider-Man punches Mephisto as he goes goes for a web yank punch but gets countered by a kick. Spider-Man fires web balls only for them to be blocked. Mephisto then punches Spider-Man and kicks him down to the sand covered ground as he tumbled.
Peter rolled himself back up as he then sees the skies darken with Mephisto growing to giant size before his very eyes. Peter then backs up in disbelief and awe at the power of Mephisto as he quickly cartwheel dodges out of the way of an incoming giant punch.
"MJ! AUNT MAY!" shouts Spider-Man as he quickly swings up and web balls the giant Mephisto buying him some time.
With the opening in front of him, Spider-Man swings up to save his love ones. As he finds himself closer to with reach he web swings closer with his hand reached out only to be intercepted by a pair of demons that blindside him down as he hits himself onto steel beams and lands on one.
Meanwhile as the Waverider was flooring it in high speed,
"Gideon turn on the news." ordered Ava.
A New York broadcast shows footage of Spider-Man battling Mephisto.
"Hang on Parker, we're almost there!" said Ava.
Spider-Man gets up as he sees Mephisto. Peter then gets pulled down by tendrils of the demons by his neck as he's pinned and unable to move.
Mephisto slams his fist as Spider-Man's mask and suit began to tear. He struggled to get free as Mephisto slams his fist again onto him. Taking his time. Toying with Peter.
Aunt May and MJ could only watch in horror and tears in their eyes as Peter reaches out his hand to his loved ones. He begins to fade as Mephisto hits another Slam as Peter goes limp.
Mephisto goes for the final blow as he's stopped by a band. He looks as he sees Doctor Strange arrive as he uses the Crimson Band and uses the Images of Ikkon to pull him down to the ground.
Then Moon Knight comes in and kicks off the demons off of Peter as the duo help him up.
Doctor Strange extends his hand as Peter grabs it with all his strength.
"Looks like I arrived just in the nick of time" said Strange. "A couple of minutes ago wouldn't have been so bad either" said Peter. "Well whaddya gonna do?" asked Strange as the ground shook as Mephisto rose up.
"I'll save Aunt May and MJ. You two just keep him distracted." said Moon Knight as he grapples up and begins to cut them free.
"NOOOOO!" shouts Mephisto as he goes for a grab as Spider-Man swing kicks into Mephisto. Moon Knight freed MJ and Aunt May as Doctor Strange conjured a sling ring portal for the two ladies to their homes respectively.
"Go quickly!" ordered Strange.
"What about Peter?" asked Aunt May.
"You have my word I'll guarantee his safety. Now go!" said Strange as the ladies left.
Spider-Man gets backhanded as Moon Knight throws cluster bombs.
As Mephisto was advancing, he gets blasted by the Waverider with Ava in the captain's chair. "Give it everything you got Gideon!" ordered Ava as the ship fired all weapons at the giant.
"This won't be enough to take his ass down!" said Blade. "Agreed. I know how to bring him down. I'm heading back to close the breach. We have to literally drag his ass back to hell" said Satana as she teleports to the subway where she opened the portal and began the reverse ritual.
"To hell with you dad!" Satana said as she finished. The spell began to pull everything from the dark Aether of the underworld back where it belongs as all the Dark forces are retracted back in.
"Guys look! It's working!" said Elsa as Mephisto began to be pulled back as he began to shrink to normal size.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" shout Mephisto as he fights to stay.
"Doc we gotta help!" said Spider-Man as Strange uses Mandalas as jump pads for Spider-Man as he goes for a swing kick to help push Mephisto back. Strange gets Marc and Peter back aboard as Ghost Rider had an idea.
"Stay here." he says as he gets in the roof of the ship and swings his chain like a lasso around Mephisto's neck as he shouts. "GO!!!"
Ghost Rider pulls and holds on as the Waverider flies back to the crater where the portal is.
"Blaze! We're here. Let go!" said Ava.
"NO! I must do this. It's the only way" he responds.
"Johnny the hell you doin?" asked Blade.
Johnny Blaze then shouts "BACK TO HELLL!" as he pulls on Mephisto close as he and the ruler of hell dive head first into the depths.
"Johnny? JOHNNY!?" asked Moon Knight as it was too late.
As the two fell, Johnny pulls in Mephisto as he gives the penance stare. "LOOK INTO MY EYES! LOOK AT THE SOULS YOU'VE BURNED. FEEL THEIR PAIN!" Mephisto stared into the eyes of his own former bounty hunter as he burns Mephisto turning him to ash.
