CHAPTER 12: MY NUMBER ONE.
(POV: Thomas)
In the throne room, Mordred was standing triumphantly as I glared darkly at him. I had just saved Billster, thanks to a push from someone who I knew, and I was now standing on my two feet, ready to fight once more. As I glared at him, Mordred was full of confusion and question.
"Why do you keep on trying to fight?" He asked with a menacing look. "Can't you see that you already lost?"
"I'm still fighting because I haven't lost yet." I answered with a stern tone within my voice. "As long as I'm able to move my arms and legs, I'm still in the ring."
Then, as I closed my eyes, I pictured the feeling of armor on my chest and arms and then The armor of Pendragon magically appeared over my attire. As Mordred saw this, he'd looked on with great annoyance.
"Of all the things to wear..." Mordred sighed with disgust. "It just had to be the very attire of my arch enemy, doesn't it?"
"What else?" I replied. "If I'm going to fight and kill you, then I might as well piss you off as much as I can. Besides, nothing will beat having the protection of your enemy."
"True." Replied Mordred. "But no matter whether that armor is on you or not, even with it's protection, I shall enjoy giving you a slow painful death."
"Yeah. but even with that in mind..." I said as I positioned to fight. "It still won't be enough to make up for my insolence!"
And so, at that moment, the final duel to the death had begun. As I looked carefully at Mordred's movements, I noticed the evil king lift Caliburn high into the air, as if he was attempting a one hit kill strike. So, then, using what I knew, I readied to commence a combo attack sword spell. However, as I used it, Mordred's movement suddenly changed and then he stopped my attack. So upon seeing this, I tried another one of more than 4 hits, but to only have Mordred slash me 5 times in the stomach. I then tried again with yet another one of my family's sword spells, but only to have Mordred use a one hit spell at my stomach. As I then tried to get up, Mordred sneered as he saw me cough out some blood.
"You now see why it's futile for you to resist me?" Asked the evil king. "Thanks to Caliburn and your connection with it, I have every Billinton style sword spell engraved in my memory. So nothing of your knowledge of your family's sword style can be hidden from me."
"Dang it!" I thought as I hit the ground. "I can't win! oh what can I do?"
As I began to think of another way, no other strategy came to my mind. Mordred KNEW of my family's sword style and nothing of it was hidden from him thanks to the link I had with Caliburn which the evil king corrupted in his dark rituals. As then began to wonder if victory against Mordred was impossible and what to do now, a familiar voice I knew all too well spoke to me from across the room.
"D-don't stop." It croaked. "Keep... fighting."
As I then looked over I spotted Lady awake and aware. As then I felt very desperate, I limped over to her for I didn't know what else to do and grabbed her hand. Upon doing so, I then found myself and Lady in a pitch black space with nothing but us. As I looked at her, Lady spoke in the same kind and sweet tone that I always loved.
"Thomas..." She began. "I know that this fight isn't easy for you, but you know what? Neither were those previous ones from those times before."
"Yeah.." I replied as I thought back. " I nearly died from some of them."
"And yet." She continued. "You've won with your determination."
As I then just looked at Lady I could sense the encouragement that she was trying to give me as the specks within her eyes sparkled. Then as I then took in her words, I blushed slightly as Lady then placed her hands on my cheeks. This gesture of hers was certainly unexpected but not unsettling. As I then felt her soft skin, Lady continued to speak to me.
"It's about time that I'd give you much needed push." She said with her kind and sweet smile. "We'll win this together, just like we did all those other times. We'll definitely save our future, we will!"
Then a blinding light shone throughout the room and I opened my eyes to find myself back in the throne room with Lady still gravely wounded. As the Magicborn continued speaking to me, I just stared at her starry eyes.
"Thomas." She croaked. "I know this fight is hard... But, please... stand back up as many times as you need."
Then Lady placed her and mine hand on Illumious and the rapier glowed very brightly. As the light shined brighter and brighter Mordred covered his face, for he couldn't stand it. Then when the light died down, Illumoius was no longer a rapier, but the same kind of sword as Excalibur, and within my left hand. As I then looked back at Lady, she finished up her words to me as her eyes began to close.
"Now go Thomas." She said with a smile. "My loyal Sorcerer knight... My... Number 1."
"LADY!" I cried as she then passed out once more. As I then looked at the girl I had feelings for, I gripped the up sized sword I was given as tears flowed from my eyes as her words flew about in my head.
"Alright." I sobbed in reply. "I'll stand for you. I'll stand for you and be your number 1 and always stay true to that. That is an oath that I swear that I'll forever keep."
Then feeling many different emotions insides, I picked up Excalibur and then stood in front of Mordred once more.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator)
As Thomas stood in front of him, Mordred was enraged, for the teen in blue was still willing to fight.
"Why do you not stop?!" Mordred growled. "It's over, Child of Avalon! You lost! The fight is over!"
"I know that!" Said Thomas with his dead serious tone. "And you know what? I don't give a darn about it!"
As he took in the words from the teen, Mordred then took a step back, feeling frustrated and threatened, as Thomas then continued glare at him.
"Until I completed my mission and goal," Continued Thomas. "I will not stop, and I refuse to until you're dead Mordred!"
"I am this world's one and true ruler!" Growled Mordred as he pointed Caliburn at Thomas. "And I order you to accept your defeat and to give your head to me!"
"No chance!" Thomas answered in retaliation. "You are not a ruler! You're just a full blown power, hungry maniac! You have no right to give ANYONE orders! Therefore, you have no right to be in charge!"
As Thomas then positioned himself to duel wield, the golden stripes of the seal of pendragon appeared in his eyes once again, which just imitated the evil king even more.
"JUST DIE ALREADY!" Shouted Mordred as he swung the corrupted sword at the E2 driver.
"NEVER!" Shouted Thomas in reply as he then parried the attack.
"WHAT?!" Shouted Mordred in surprise as he and his strike were sent back.
Now with Illumious to par with Excalibur, Thomas's attacks were now much more wilder and faster than before, thus making it much harder for Mordred to handle. As Mordred gritted his teeth, he felt enraged and beyond frustrated.
"What cheek." Growled Mordred as Thomas slightly smirked in amusement. "WHAT CHEEK!"
Then as the evil king shouted he pointed Caliburn towards Thomas as he did the same with Excalibur. The two swordsmen then glared at one another before charging forward in a joust like situation. Then before Mordred could reach Thomas, the E2 driver leapt over him and slashed him in the back. Upon feeling the pain in his back, Mordred filled up with even more rage and then did the same downward slash from earlier. As Thomas struggled to block the super charged attack, Mordred began to smile psychotically.
"Ha, ha, ha." Chuckled Mordred. "It's over now you little boy. I have won!"
"Not yet." Thomas said as the two swords in his hands began to glow brighter. "NOT YET!"
Then, upon shouting, Thomas parried Caliburn one last time and then he stabbed Mordred with Excalibur and sliced his head off with Illumious. As Thomas looked at Mordred's remains, his head felt light and his body heavy. As the nobleman felt these things he was breathing very heavily.
"Is it over?" Asked Thomas to himself as he then felt his legs getting weaker and weaker before falling backwards onto the floor and blacking out.
(To be concluded...)
