And you said, you said it was al-always

you

I'll never forget, you said

it was always you

Always, always you

Always, always you

- Always You, YVR.

Angel?

No, he was a god

in his own right.

Invincible.

Righteous and all-powerful

Merciful

And untouchable.

'Alec' is the name he chose.

The god of Spring chose the name 'Alec'.

Alec with the greek meaning which is 'defending men'. He looks the part, with his chiselled smooth features and stern expression. With his heavy dark eyebrows and smooth strong voice. It isn't just his looks either he is actually a very adept warrior. He gives Jace, god of War a run for his money. Even though Jace is all 'warrior spirit' and 'die in battle' in where Ale actually thinks about strategy.

I've heard rumors of him being offered the role of 'strategic war'.

Clary already has that title, 'Strategic war and the arts' but it's no secret she refers one aspect of her job more than the other and would be happier tending to the flowers than watching her boyfriend slice off heads.

How does that even happen?

How do you get 'defending men' and 'Alec' from 'god of spring'?

I'm just bitter.

After all...the epitome of perfection, god of Spring would never spare the Lord of the Underworld a second glance.

Not only that- but the foul wrench won't even let me near Alec- not even a mile radius near.

Unless of course the King of the Heavens says otherwise, like tonight.

Meet Maryse, Goddess of the Harvest.

Over protective bi-

"Maggie!"

I involuntarily flinch at the high pitched squeal- Meet Camille, Goddess of Witchcraft and Sorcery.

That lady was the one who gave out the punishments- the very creative grotesque ones.

She was gorgeous, I took a millisecond admire that as she raced over the marble floors. The gala held by his royal highness, Robert ( I know a dreadfully boring name) and he insisted I attend. Probably hoping that I bring a nice gift like last time- a throne made of the darkest gold found in the deepest part of the earth. Camille was now in front of me, she must have teleported when she saw that I had no care to see her running towards me.

"How are you?"

My eyes surveyed the room, "Fine" I say at last when I see no escape route.

I hear her huff then tug at my fabulous locks of hair- how dare she? I just had it washed- "I'm fine too, thanks for asking. Actually now that you asked-

"I didn't," I told her but she just continued.

"I've been missing you."

I peel my eyes off of Clary, who was animatedly talking to the recently immortalized hero 'Simon'. I liked Simon more than I did the other hero's. Hero's typically used their good looks to get ahead, having princesses betray their fathers and kingdoms for a chance to win the love of a hero. Hero's typically recruited help just to abandon them as soon as they become dead weight. Hero's typically became dark at heart for all the shit they had to survive through.

But...not Simon.

Simon valued other over himself.

Simon never lead on girls or men for that matter. That didn't stop them for falling for him though- but not for his admittedly average looks (his godliness made him somewhat more appealing, if you like big brown eyes, smooth tan skin and lean builds) but for his humor and kindness. He was raised by an actual mother- like what luck. But he soon had to embark on a quest due to the Oracle. Clary guided him throughout his quests, something that really pissed Jace off. Well Jace can cry himself a river since Clary had begged Robert to immortalized Simon since he had prevented a war and brought the gods great honor.

Jace, Clary insisted to anyone who would listen, is just upset because the war could have been historical.

I suspected that the only reason Robert agreed to give Simon immorality and title 'god of Peace and Friendship (And Karma, but no one talks about that) was because Izzy happens to have a very soft spot on Simon.

Izzy, goddess of love and beauty, was Robert's favorite daughter.

Dragging my eyes back to a scowling Camille I say, not bothering to hide the boredom in my voice "How very dreadful...for you."

That's when I hear it, it's throaty and raspy chuckle.

It was... Alec.

I recognized that laugh- that laugh after all is what got me to fall for the young god in the first place. His laugh, his openness. None of the scheming his father seems to always be doing.

Forcing myself to show restraint I lazily twist to see Alec's mischievous eyes set on me.

Biting back a victorious smile, I wave him over. Ignoring Camille's grumbles.

"Hello." I greet the man in for whose affections i've been trying to catch for a decade now "I'm Magnus, Lord of the Underworld."

I expected them to look shocked and back away in fear, expecting it, bracing myself for it. But no- he just grins wider and shyly says, "I know. I'm Alec, God of Spring." He looks embarrassed for some reason, "Strategic battle too, at least I will be soon."

Something lights up in my chest, something unfamiliar, "Spring? Flowers too?"

He nods quickly then adds, almost rushing his words "And strategic battle..soon."

I take a sip of the glass of wine i've been holding for decoration, "Interesting- about the flowers, do they grow in your presence? Or do you have to summon it?"

"A bit of both, I can summon a specific type of flower. Or it just happens." He nods to the pale pillars which were open to show bright blue sky and vines where curling around the pillars a pinkish-red. "Why do you ask?"

"Nothing alive grows in the underworld, I was just wondering if you can help with that."

His smile is brilliant as he opens his mouth to answer when a louder shrill voice replaces his, "ALEC! STAY AWAY FROM THAT GOD!"

My eyes move to Maryse, who was glowing with pale gold power. I realized too late that the reason her power seems so bright is because my darkness has dimmed the day sky to grey and the room too.

"Magnus-" Alec moves as if to comfort me (or join me) but stalks of plants crack the marble and hold him back. The plants try to restrain me but whither when they brush against my robes. I touch the cage that had been holding Alec back- and he stumbles free. He looks at me with wide awed eyes, excitement and hope shining in those sapphire blues. Hope that is cruelly crushed when I turn on my heel and leave the room.

...

A few months or years after- one doesn't keep track of time when they are immortal- Alec wanders past the forest... following a line of energy.

Familiar energy.

A cave was there, mostly sealed but the energy was undeniably his.

Belonging to the only man that can give him what he desperately wanted.

Freedom.

Love.

Happiness of his own making. Not the paradise Maryse created- Alec could be more.

And with that in mind Alec raises his hand and forces life between the cracks of stone, forcing to grow and grow until the stone crumbles and a clear passage way is cleared.

Paranormal, ey? Hmm, isn't TMI paranormal? Ooh! You gave me an idea! I better get to work, take care!

Stay safe!
