Sonic sat on the roof of the Thorndyke house, reading a book about places so he could find something new to visit on the planet. Finding nothing new, Sonic sighed as he placed the book down. "I guess I've seen every place there is to see on this planet." He sighed. "Except for places I'd have to swim to."

Watching TV in the family room, Cream smiled as she watched her favorite show. "Bye-bye, friends, I'll see you tomorrow!" The cartoon character said with a smile.
"Bye bye!" Cream and Cheese said happily.
Ella came in. "I thought you two might like a little snack." She smiled, putting the plate down.
"Thank you Ella." Cream smiled as glanced hungrily at the treat.
Suddenly, the TV switched to a news channel. "We interrupt our regularly schedule program to go live to our SSTV correspondent, Scarlet Garcia."
"The president's top aide is going to make a statement before taking questions from the press corps."
"The president has decided to put a stop to Eggman"
"What." Ella, Cream, and Cheese looked shocked at this.
...
At Eggman's layer, Eggman was watching the whole thing with a smirk on his eyes. "Well, I hope they come up with a mastermind plan, because they're going to need it." Eggman smirked. He laughed evilly.
...
Meanwhile, Knuckles was on his daily run up a tree exercise. He climbed to the top and surveyed the scene of a city in front of him.
"All right, where's that Emerald?" He asked.
Hearing the sound of a jet, Knuckles looked up to see the X Tornado flying above him.
Curious but determined, Knuckles dashed down the trunk once again
Up in the air, Amy, Tails, Francis, Penny were all flying in the X Tornado. We were all excited to get it, and Francis seemed eager to have an adventure of her own this time.
"Amy, there's my house down there!" Francis smiled, showing Amy the view.
"Which one?"
"Do you see the one with the red roof?"
"Yeah, that's great Francis!" Amy said.
"You should come over to visit some time," Francis smiled at Amy.
"I will, thanks!" Amy smiled.
"Hey, Penny, do you think we can fly over the school?"
"Ahh..." Penny muttered, not sure what to say. "Maybe, Francis."
"Guys, this isn't a sight-seeing trip," Tails said. "We've got to hurry and track down the next Chaos Emerald or Eggman will get to it before we do!"
"I know, Tails, sorry." Penny said nervously.
"It's all right." Tails smiled. "Hey, Penny, where did you get those high-tech goggles? From your grandpa?"
"mm. No. My teacher Mr. Stewart gave it to me." Penny smiled, adjusting the goggles so they could cooperate with her now shoulder-length hair. Penny leaned over to Tails. "Like them?" I asked.
Tails nodded. "They're cool!" He smiled.
"Yeah, they're one of the best gifts I ever got!" Penny smiled. "Chris was super jealous when I showed him!"
However, Penny didn't know that there was a tracking device located on the goggles. And what she didn't know was that Mr. Stewart was hearing everything as they zoomed over the school.
Soon, Mr. Stewart took off after the X Tornado.
...
At the President's house, the men there were planning their counter attack.
"The power generators for Eggman's base are located under the tower, Mr. President." The commander said. "This information came to us from Rouge and Topaz."
"Well, Rouge, I'm glad my confidence in you wasn't misplaced." The president smiled.
"This spy stuff is right up my alley." Rouge smirked.
"We're all very grateful." The president smiled. "Now, let's review our attack plan."
"Right." Everyone agreed.
...
The plan to capture Eggman was that they needed Sonic on their side. So they sent the aide over to the Thorndyke's home to have a word with the blue hedgehog.
Ella opened the door and was surprised to see the man from the news there.
"You're the president's aide!" She gasped in shock.
"Is Sonic at home?" The aide asked.
She thought for a moment. She knew something was up, and she also knew that Sonic was resting on the rooftop, and that Silver was out hunting for Chaos Emeralds somewhere in the city. She would not even turn Sonic and Silver in to the President! So for their sake, she decided to play dumb, like Chis and the others did to her. She wasn't sure if it was gonna work, but she had to try.
She crossed her arms. "I don't know. Who're they?"
"I'd like you to let Sonic and Silver know that I didn't come here to capture them." The aide said. "I simply came at the President's request to ask for their You should also tell them that if they agree to work with us, they'll be rewarded. The president pledged that Sonic, Silver, and their friends will be offered citizenship, and they'll be paid for their services."
"That's very nice, but I don't think I know Sonic and Silver." Ella said.
"We know you know Sonic and Silver." The aide said, not buying the act. "Ella."
Ella gasped. "How do you know my name?!" She asked.
"We know all about you, this house, and your visitors."
"I already told you, I don't know anything. So why don't you go and put an egg in your shoe and beat it."
"I can cause you a lot of problems for you. lady!" The aide was having quite enough of this nonsense. "Get Sonic and Silver!"
The door slammed right in his face. The aide growled in annoyance. He tried to open it up, but it was locked. When the door opened, he looked up and saw Ella with a bucket of water in her hands. "Hu?" He asked.
The water splashed in his face. Ella grumbled as she closed the door again, leaving the aide and his agents in shock. "WHAT KIND OF SECURITY IS THIS?!" The aide cried in annoyance. "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO JUMP IN FRONT OF ME!"
"Ella, who was it?" Tanaka asked, walking down with a towel on his arm.
"Just because he's the President's big shot assistant, he thinks he can threaten me. Well, I just showed him that he's all wet!"
Mr. Tanaka stood there, confused.
...
Meanwhile, Mr. Stewart was still tracking us down. He noticed on his tracking device that we were going off course than he expected.
"I wonder where they could be headed right now." Mr. Stewart muttered. scratching his chin.
He decided to follow them.
...
In the air and on the X Tornado, the green Emerald was glowing brightly like it did at the stadium.
"The Chaos Emerald is picking something up!" Tails exclaimed.
"That's great, Tails!" Penny smiled brightly.
"See the location screen?" He asked her.
"South-Southeast." Penny replied.
Tails looked at the girl with a smile. "Chaos Emerald, here we come!"
...
In his car, Mr. Stewart noticed that they turned around again.
"They turned again." Mr. Stewart said. He turned his vehicle around and zoomed towards the spot.
...
They soon landed in a cornfield.
"The scope says that there's a Chaos Emerald here in the field!" Penny smiled. "We beaten Eggman to it!" Penny turned to Tails. "Open it up so we can start looking."
"We can look for here, Penny!" Tails smiled.
"Hmm?" Penny asked.
"Wait and see!" Tails smiled as he pushed a button to the plane, causing the plane to transform. "What's this?" Francis asked in excitement.
"WOW!" Francis cried happily.
"Wow, Tails." Amy said, impressed. "What did you do?"
"I transformed it to an all-purpose robot called the X-Cyclone. What do you guys say we take this on a little stroll?"
"UH HU!" Penny smiled happily.
"Now, let's find that Chaos Emerald!" Tails said as the X Tornado (X-clone) walked through the field of corn.
...
In the car, Mr. Stewart frowned. "A Chaos Emerald, hu?" He asked. He took out his beacon and called the headquarters once again. "This is Chalkboard Charlie calling homeroom. Come in, homeroom, over."
...
The Emerald was glowing pretty brightly this time. They were all out of the X-Tornado and decided to look around. When they came to the spot where the Emerald was hiding, Penny smiled. "Looks like there's a Chaos Emerald right under our feet."
"Wow, Penny, do you think so?" Francis asked.
Penny smiled, nodding.
"But we didn't bring a shovel." Amy pointed out.
"That's ok." Francis smiled. "Because we have the X-Cyclone to do it for us! Right, Tails?"
"Hey, yeah, you did say this was an all-purpose robot." Amy smiled.
"I... I didn't include a digging function." Tails said nervously.
"WHA?!" Francis and Penny looked shocked.
"It's not all purpose then, hu?" Amy asked.
"Not exactly." Tails said nervously.
"Guys, I bet the farmhouse we saw has a shovel we can borrow." Penny said nervously.
...
Knuckles was standing outside the headquarters when he noticed soldiers running towards their helicopters. He didn't know what was going on, but something was up.
"I wonder what's going on now?" He asked.
...
At Eggman's island, what they didn't know was that there was a counter attack going on him. He and his bots needed to do something about that, fast!
"Here are your cards!" Decoe said, handing Eggman his cards. Eggman took the cards and once again placed them in the machine, and smirked as the machine chose a bot.
"Fofun! Perfect." He smirked.
Eggman soon took off with his new robot. That's when the President's agents took their move.
...
Soon, we were digging for the Chaos Emerald.
"It must be deep." Penny said, panting in the hot sun. "We just need to keep digging!" Tails said. He looked over at her and noticed the girl's flushed face. "Penny, do you need a water break?"
"Tails, I'm fine. We just have to get to the Emerald before Eggman does!" Penny said.
"Ok... but taking water is important, especially for you. I've seen you get heat-sick before, and it's not pretty."
Penny paused for a small breather. Tails was right, Penny had passed out from lack of water once when they were looking for Sonic. Seriously, once Penny found him, she was so hot and dehydrated that she fell in the hedgehog's arms.
But this was different, something Penny needed to get done. For Sonic and Silver and the others, so they could get home.
"Just splash water on me, and I'll be fine," Penny muttered.
Amy and Francis smirked, and dropped their shovels. They grabbed a water bucket that was randomly sitting in the middle of the corn crop and splashed the girl with it.
"HEY!" Penny laughed. "You guys will GET IT!"
But before Penny could chase them, they heard something.
"Sounds like a jet!" Amy said.
To their shock, one of Eggman's robots landed right in front of them.
"It's Dr. Eggman!" Penny gasped, feeling something go over her. Was it fear? I hoped so. If she got heat sick at a time like this, this was not going to end well.
"So, have you found my Chaos Emerald yet?" Eggman smirked.
"We're not gonna give it to you!" Tails said, who was now in his machine.
"That's right!" Penny said, still wringing water out of my pink shirt. (just because I wear a pink shirt once in a while doesn't mean I'm Amy, dear readers.)
"Very well." Eggman smirked. "I'll just take it then,"
"I'd better find a phone to call Sonic." Penny told Amy.
"Ok. Tell him to hurry!" Amy said to Penny. She nodded. Penny looked at Francis. "C'mon, Francis!" Penny grabbed her hand, and the two girls took off.
"Ok, Fofun... GET THEM!" Eggman smirked.
"STOP THEM, CYCLONE!" Amy cried.
"LET'S GET THEM!" Tails said fiercely.
But as Tails tried to fly the plane in the air, the machine Eggman sent turned on, and strong wind from the fan started blowing things out of its way. Amy screamed as she flew in the air.
"AMY!" Tails cried.
The wind was so powerful that it knocked down the Cyclone.
"You're blowing those brats away! Good work!" Eggman cheered.
The force was blowing so strong that it was reaching Penny and Francis. Penny grasped Francis in her arms and dove to the ground, protecting Francis from the debris.
Eggman laughed evilly. "I'm having the most "funfun" I've had in a long time."
Tails strained to keep his control on the control. "I can't get it to work! The control's jammed!" He cried.
The strong force of the wind knocked the device off my head.
...
"That cornfield must be around here somewhere." Mr. Stewart said. He looked at the device and saw the beacon flying away from the cornfield.
Mr. Stewart grumbled, then followed the beacon.
...
Meanwhile, over at Eggman's layer, the attacks from the President's special agents were and weren't going so well.
...
Cream saw the whole news on the TV. "We gotta go tell Sonic!" She cried.
She and Sonic were in the garage when Sonic realized that Penny wasn't there.
"Where are they?" Silver asked.
"Penny went out with her friend Francis in the X Tornado with Amy and Tails." Chuck said, climbing down the stairs to the garage.
Sonic growled. "Lousy time for a joyride!" He said fiercely.
...
The winds were getting too strong for the girls to bear. Just when Penny thought everything was going to be gone, Penny looked up to see Amy straining with all her might, hammering down steaks on the ground to hold on to and moving towards us.
"AMY!" Francis and Penny cried happily.
"Hang on, I'm almost there!" Amy cried.
Tails strained with all his might, forcing his machine up and glaring at the robot and Eggman.
...
At our home, Chuck answered the phone, and began to panic. "Sorry, what did you say? Speak up!" He cried. "They're at Ting-a-Ling Villa? Thanks a lot! I'll send someone over right away!" He hung up and looked at Sonic and Silver.
"Who is it, Grandpa?" Cream asked.
"They wouldn't say who he was." He turned to Sonic and Silver. "Penny needs your help at Ting-a-Ling Villa."
Sonic and Silver nodded fiercely. "Right."
The two zoomed off. "Hang on, Penny. I'm coming!" Sonic thought fiercely.
