Following the defeat of what was Japan's greatest enemy and a would be destroyer of the world, not to mention the success of Operation Serizawa, clean up and preparations for rebuilding began.

The survivors of the Fukishima disaster a few nights prior who remained in the city and got radiation sickness from the leftover fall out were giving medical attention while those homeless but still in good health were given safe asylum in surviving villages.

News reporters from across the globe were reporting on the story, this was quite the event: A giant monster that ended up becoming a reincarnation of the 1954 Godzilla came ashore and wrecked havoc before being defeated all within the space of two to three days.

This story would be talked about for years and years to come, long into the next decade and the next century, nobody would shut up about it, not even the witnesses who'd seen the big decisive battle unfold.

It would take weeks for Fukishima to rebuild with the right materials, maybe a month but by the time the year was over, the city would have been rebuilt and Japan's slow recover would begin.

As for the next Kaiju attack, hopefully it would be a long time before a new monster menaced the nation but everyone knew one truth: Japan was protected by both its military, government and Godzilla himself.

But would life be back to normal and everything be ok?

Time would tell.

In Osaka, Nakamura sat at his desk, drinking coffee after having a phone-by-phone chat with Kamatakura, who'd told him that his nightmares had stopped and he was sleeping peacefully.

The Prime Minister (Nakamura) was satisfied, Operation Serizawa was a success, Japan and the world would not be annihilated. Also, thank goodness Osaka was not devastated and neither was Tokyo.

Besides, who'd want to see those two cities get wrecked? Either way, with that story over, it was time to get back to non-Kaiju related business.

Nakamura had a meeting with the president of the United States at an upcoming summit meeting of world leaders, hopefully they wouldn't have to discuss nuclear power and the era of giant monsters that nearly saw the end of the world...

Sunset, the end of another day, at least it was a good one now that Shin Godzilla had been taken care of. Everything was peaceful in the city as it usually was, despite many challenges and disasters such as the 2011 tsunami and power plant melt down and the cataclysm of a few nights prior.

Most of the citizens did their best to sleep indoors within what remained of the buildings while some went out for some evening walks. Among those going for a sundown walk was James M, the young American who had been lucky enough to avoid getting radiation sickness or burned alive.

However, there came a time where luck would not last forever. Walking through the ruins, James couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as though something would jump out at him at any time even though the danger had already passed and it was safe and sound now.

It was like... something was close by, watching his every move, preparing to strike and ambush. Must be some leftover stressful paranoia from a few nights ago, he thought, shrugging it off.

But then, the ground began to rumble and dust fell from the roof of a partially decimated house.

"What the frick?" James asked, he looked up and his eyes acted like telescope lenses, zooming in on some shapes in the distance and the American's heart pounded when he saw what was coming: A horde of hideous, dark red humanoids with dorsal plates and Cyclops-like eyes screeching like monster bats, charging at high speed.

Where did they come from?

James instantly remembered the battle between the Godzillas where Shin's tail got blasted off, he'd made out shapes on the tip of the tail that looked like hideous humanoid monsters shrieking with rage.

Those things must've been part of what Shin could've evolved into had he not been destroyed, but what was there purpose? They'd just came into this world and were basically wild beasts.

Shrieking in terror, his adrenaline kicking in, James turned and took off running across the street, the stampede close behind. Not bothering to look back, the young American kept running for his life.

Despite his stamina and his efforts to stay safe and run fast, the monsters were catching up. The boy tried to run faster, despite feeling exhausted and having a bad leg.

He was so distracted with trying to survive the monster stampede, James failed to notice the huge cube-shaped object of apparent doom coming down from the sky, the shadow of it atop him growing larger until it was too late.

BAM! The cube came down on James, engulfing him in darkness. The creatures encircled the object, wondering what this was supposed to be.

In the shadow world, as he was taken captive by shadowy figures, James shrugged, "Well, its better than getting eaten alive by weird looking Godzilla humanoids."
