Some moons later...
"I, Timberstar, leader of TimberClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Swiftpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"
The tabby nodded. "I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Swiftpaw, from this moment on, you will be known as Swiftbreeze. StarClan honors your optimism and your adventurousness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of TimberClan."
As the brown leader rested his muzzle on the new warrior, the Clan chanted, "Swiftbreeze! Swiftbreeze!"
Owlfeather purred as he watched Swiftbreeze and Twigsnap share tounges with each other one last time as apprentice and mentor. Voleflight nuzzled her friend, who returned the comfort.
"When will we head back to our Clans?" she asked. The tabby cleared his throat as if something was caught in it.
"When Clawdawn's kits are old enough to walk, Voleflight."
As if on cue, a small light orange tabby tomcat bumped into the SolarClan warrior. He giggled as he looked up at Owlfeather, his copper eyes shining.
Voleflight purred. "Looks like it's that day. Duskkit, what are you doing out of the nursery?" The kitten pounced on the WindClan warrior's tail, ignoring her question.
"Duskkit!" Voleflight hissed, a little harsher then she meant to be. The ThunderClan kit gulped and stopped, looking at Voleflight.
"Sorry Voleflight," he let out. "I'm just playing. Blackkit, Morningkit and Pebblekit are still sleeping, so mother let me out for a bit."
Owlfeather's ear twitched. "She let you out?" he asked.
"I did what?" a scorn meow sounded. A black she-cat with copper eyes climbed out of a nearby knothole in a tree branch and made her way over.
Duskkit gulped, his eyes wide. He tucked his tail between his legs and started to back away. Owlfeather held a paw out, cutting off the kits excape route.
"Duskkit! What are you doing? You're supposed to be asleep."
The light orange kit held his tail high. "A warrior never sleeps!" he declared.
The ThunderClan she-cat groaned and picked up her son by his scruff.
"Let me go!" Duskkit hissed, thrashing about. Clawdawn didn't pay any attention to him and took him back to the nursery.
"Duskkit's going to be quite a pawfull when he gets older," Owlfeather said.
"Yeah," purred the light orange WindClan warrior.
The half-Clan saw his father approached him and he purred.
"Hi father," he greeted.
Timberstar purred as he rubbed against his son's pelt.
"I have a question..." Owlfeather continued. "Can we return to the other Clans? We came here because StarClan sent us, we found the forgotten forest, and now we can go home. The others are facing a drought right now, so I thought we could show them the way here. There's plenty of territory, and it would help the others greatly."
The leader's eyes became clouded for a while before returning to normal. "Ok," he said. "I'll come with you. Clawdawn will need help with her kits anyway. I will have Twigsnap watch over the Clan while we are gone."
Timberstar climbed up to the Highbranch and yowled. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highbranch for a Clan meeting."
Once all the cats were gathered, the tabby continued. "I will be traveling back with my son and his friends to the forest, and being the other Clans. A drought has taken hold, and the others are suffering. Twigsnap," he turned his head to his deputy. "You will be in charge while I am gone."
That concludes 'Timber.'To be continued with 'Dawn Of The End.'
