Hello everyone! I didn't expect to write anything concerning this story, but recently I got an idea or two into the mosaic of how Natsuki's backgroud could look like, and I came to the conclusion that since it has painted itself in such a nice way, it would be shame to just leave it forgotten when there seemed to be some interesting in knowing more about my OC.

So yeah, I am not returning to continuing this story, nor am I planning to... you can consider this either a special gift to reader or a way how to clear my head (how you interepretate this is solely up to you). Yet since I'm already typing this out, I hope that at least some of you will be able to appreciate this glimpse into Natsuki's past.

Without any further ado, here we go.

EXTRA - Natsuki's Background

Natsuki's mother was daughter of leader of Seigo clan. As the future heir she was expected to at some point lead the clan with her future husband. There was nothing showing that Natsuki's mother would not live up to those expectations... until a special encounter happened. She happened to run into a dog demon, and whle their first meeting could be defined as two enemies clashing, but soon trying to withdraw for a reason they couldn't explain, the fate seemed to have more in store than just them forgetting about the situation afterwards.

As time flews, these two would meet up either by chance or later even deliberately, but as they slowly started to lower their guard around one another, and they started sharing some stories of their past or other information about themselves. In the end, their relationship would ultimately change from being mere acquaintances to something way deeper that blossomed into love.

However, the situation was quite unfavorable for the young couple. When Natsuki's grandfather learnt about his daughter meeting up with a demon, he immediatelly felt the need to protect his child from the danger, so he decided to make a move. Taking his old friend with him, he would try to catch the dog demon and purify him using their clan's powers. The two men nearly succeeded, after they came across the young pair, who was currently parting after one of their secret meeting. However, it was due to seeing the state Natsuki's mother was in by getting to withness what her father was about to do to the dog demon - and her heartbreaking pleas to stop - the life of Natsuki's father was spared that night.

Natsuki's grandfather was obviously unsupportive of the relationship, wishing for the demon to keep himself away from his daughter, for he didn't trust him at all. However, after seeing how much this dog demon meant to his daughter, in the end he allowed the two lover to meet from time to time, but under strict restricitons that were supposed to serve the purpose of slowly gaining trust. At this point Natsuki's grandmother was still unaware of the whole affair, for both her husband and daughter knew what her reaction should be like, so they agreed to keep her in the dark.

The pair was mostly separated, which made them miss each other painfully, but Natsuki's father was filling to offer it as sacrifice of gaining the trust of his lover's father. At some point Natsuki's grandfather would decide to meet his future son-in-law every now and then to get to know him better and be sure of his motives. Ultimately, after what the old leader of Seigo clan would describe as the greatest battle of his life - one that he fought within himself - he was willing to give ther pair his blessing.

However, the whole situation comlicated even more when Natsuki's grandmother has learnt about the matter. She was furious about not being told earlier as well as about the whole matter of her daughter having a relationship with a demon, which was unheard of. It took a long and even shoutful discussion between the old pair, as well as Natsuki's grandfather using all his authority as leader and husband to keep his wife from trying to change the turn of events the way she wanted. Nevertheless, Natsuki's grandmother never accepted her daughter's feelings, and it demaged the relationships in the family.

After some time Natsuki's mother became pregnant. Even after the childl was born, Natsuki's father was never able to freely visit his wife and daughter, for the tension in the family would not allow it. Instead Natsuki's grandfather would decide on some days when he would bring his daughter and Natsuki to see the dog demon. It was limited time that they had together, but they would always gain the most from it.

The meetings would continue until the time when Natsuki was about 8 years old. Then on one unfortunate day, Natsuki's father would sacrifice his life in order to protect his family (and possibly helping the Siego clan itself - sorry this part is still hidden in the shadows...) After this occassion, Natsuki's grandmother hoped to have some luck in bringing her daughter back "into reality", but surprisingly to her, Natsuki's grandfather would not have any of it. He allowed his daughter and her child to stay in the village and took his little grandchild into his protection. He would take the role of her mentor, and teach and train Natsuki.

However, Natsuki had to face non-acceptance not only from her grandmother, but also from some other members of the Seigo clan. It was mostly the leader's authority which kept the young half-demon safe. Yet while one side resented her presence, the love of her mother and grandfather, together with the memory of her father and all that these three have told her had helped her to carry this burden. In spite of everything she was able to keep being herself, and her efforts to struggle beared some fruit in time. Natsuki was able to make a close friend out of a girl almost five years younger than her, whose name was Chiaki. Over the time the two of them would develop a sisterly bond. And as they continued to tag along, some of the members of the clan started warming up to Natsuki as well, so her situation was fairly improving.

The period of gradual acceptance was, unfortunately, cut when Natsuki's grandfather passed away. The leadership should have gone to Natsuki's mother, but it wasn't taken well by some, given the fact that Natsuki as the next in line was a half-demon. Natsuki's grandmother was obviously on the opposing side, and she hatched an evil plan. She convinced herself that if the undesired half-breed was out of the way, that her daughter would forget in time and possibly remarry at some point to give the clan a proper heir. In an organised coup the old widow tried to purify the 17th year old Natsuki, who survived only thanks to being a half-demon. The whole affair broke into battle between the two sides of the clan, which resulted in Seigo clan being greatly decimated.

In the middle of everything Natsuki's mother managed to smuggle her daughter out of the mess, but knew that she could no longer stay with her. So after giving her daughter, who was greatly affected by the purification spells, some final advice and proclaiming her love, she headed back where she shouted at her old mother that she would never forgive the killing of Natsuki, making everyone think that Natsuki didn't make it. When Natsuki's grandmother believed that her goal of getting rid of her despised grandchild was successful, she tried to call everything off, but it was too late to do that. Before the whole battle had managed to come to an end, Natsuki's mother had died while fighting some of her mother's men.

Meanwhile, Natsuki with her face full of tears has managed to get to relative safety, where she could break down and mourn for her mother and the whole situation. On the next day she began her long journey of having nowhere to live, travelling from one place to another, while the remaining of her clan - some of the survivors included Natsuki's grandmother, Chiaki and the old friend of Natsuki's grandfather - in chaos. These would break into two smaller groups each of which then tried livng on their own.

Well, that's it... it got somewhat longer than I expected, so forgive me for that, lol. But I suppose that I got to explain everything I wanted to.

Anyway, I just want to say that if anyone would feel like adopting this story, I'm not against that idea. However, I would like you to send me a note in that case and credit this story in description of your own.

Thank you for sticking around and reading this, I hope that you don't feel that the time you have spend for reading or following this story was not a wasted one for you.
